Description

Detective-Investigator Randin Kaye, Wing City Police Department

Image

Age: 38
Height: 6' 2"
Build: Muscular

Randin has a stern, rugged face with watchful cobalt blue eyes. His shoulders are broad and squared; his posture upright and assiduously straight. His physique is brawny and powerful, sturdily built from a lifetime of diligent work and bitter trials. He walks with all the careful grace of a gunslinger, the hard-leather of his cracked boots tapping some lenitive cadence. He wears a dark dress shirt ornamented with a loose red tie, all tucked into rough-looking slacks. A leather duster often drapes over his frame flaccidly, the coat drooping down nearly to his boots. A languid cowboy’s hat will occasionally adorn his head, shadowing his vigilant, flickering gaze.

Tucked neatly into the holsters in his belt are twin .40 magnums. Though often hidden beneath the ragged folds of his duster, the gun handles are forthright and accessible. Rarely can he be seen with his AA-12 shotgun strapped to his back, a powerful weapon typically only brought in during pre-determined combat related situations.

A Lawman

A hardened WCPD Detective who's seen a lot in his day. Randin is toughened and brave, hardly shocked by even the most dangerous of situations. Absent of any special powers or abilities; he is a man and nothing more.

Randin holds fast to a code of honor, morality and chivalry, un-possessed by many of his fellow officers. He is deeply compelled to fulfill his duties as a detective, and will quickly attempt an end to any misdeeds or criminal activity he witnesses. Unfortunately, he tends to have a bit of an ego that often clashes with his duties as an officer, particularly during life-threatening situations. He has been known to be sarcastic and dry in his humor, and demonstrates a disregard for most authority.

's cell phone suddenly rings. Retriveing it, he says a few words before hanging up. "Looks like I'm needed back at my office for a moment. I'll be back if I can." He nods to Jake, "nice talking to you. He exits, hardly taking notice of Parson as he leaves, his mind occupied with other matt4ers.

steps into the bar adamantly, each step completely sure of itself. His long jacket flows around his brawny figure as he walks, the outside winds tossing it as he enters the establishment. His eyes are not in it's usual stern demeanor. They are wild and rampant, furious and storming. They are the eyes of a man about to kill.

"It's him," he thinks to himself, eyeing Parson as he enters, "it's the kid. He dyed his hair but it's the same voice. That some goddamned voice. The voice of the boy who got away. The voice of the boy who kills for pleasure. The voice of the boy I have to stop. NOW."

His right hand, white-knuckled and calloused, commands his .357 Magnum. At last, he is completely within the bar, ignoring the gasps of several of the patrons at the sight of his firearm. He brings it up slowly and surely, the muzzle aimed directly at Parson's back. Randin's jaw clenches. His eyes flare once again. He speaks gruffly, grinning as he takes his master aim, "Miss me, punk?"

The gun fires, giving off a huge flash and an extremely large noise. The bullet, the SILVER bullet, spirals through the air, headed straight for the vampire's right shoulder.

Spinning around with the grace of a gunslinger even as the bullet flies through the air, he takes aim at Anthony. He didn't know this man, but he knew Sakura, and he had heard enough from outside the bar to know that this one wasn't on his side. Besides that, he had a loaded firearm pointed at a civilian. Action must be taken. A second round goes off from his magnum, and another silver bullet flies toward's Anthony's leg.

Randin Kaye growled in satisfaction as the bullet found it's mark. The vampire kid wouldn't get away to kill again. Not this time. He took aim again at Parson, this time at his head. But as his finger tightened around the trigger, a large orange object caught his eye, and the immediate danger became clear to him. Throwing himself out of the way with all his strength on to the ground, Randin just barely managed to dodge the attack, the blade ripping open part of his jacket and searing some of the skin beneath. Who was this strange man? Must have alot of balls to takea bullet full on. But balls or not, he was an enemy. Randin struggled to compose himself, attempting to recover so as to take aim at his opponents once more

Randin Kaye rises at last, cocking his gun back, he takes a moment to observe the fight, and Anthony. Who the hell was this guy? Must be quite the character to be helping a vampire, not to mention talk like he did. He spoke as if he was an angry costumer at a restaraunt, furious that he hasn't recieved his meal yet.

...and as if everyone in the bar was on the menu.

Randin looked over to Parson, safe behind the shield, sniveling and healing. At least he was out of the fight for the time being. His direction turns again to Anthony, hiding behind the strong material of the table. He raises his gun, aiming in his direction, and speaks with great firmness and authority, "put your hands up and come out slowly! You're under arrest, and I'm taking you in!"

Randin Kaye with his gun raised, looks Anthony in the eye. He speaks with a tone of extreme caution, "On the ground, face down, palms out in front of you." He takes a step closer to Anthony, ready to fire at the first sign of trouble.

Randin Kaye looks over suddenly at Chiara as she masks Parson in shadow. Suddenly Randin remembered...remembered how this kid has managed to be such a pain in the ass last time. He could teleport or something using people's shadows. Randin screams in rage, "NO! WAIT, STOP! FREEZE!" He swings his gun over in Parson's direction, loosing three rounds of silver bullets

Randin Kaye the shard was well thrown, impaling Randin in the chest. While his L.A.P.D.A vest managed to keep the point from killing him, the force of the projectile nonetheless knocked him down. He looked over at Parson, and saw him dissapear. But after he had talked to this man like that...Randin had a guess as too his next manuever. Placing his gun on the flooring of the bar for a moment (it was the first time since the fight started it had left his hand), he retrieves a small flashlight. Flickering it on, he shines it's bright light into Anthony's direction, casting out all shadows instantly, attempting to prevent Parson from taking this man

Randin Kaye looked up at Chiara and growled lowly. Was this bitch on his side or not? He didn't understand. He rose with suprising quickness for a man. Gun in one hand, flashlight in the other, his eyes went wide as he he saw Anthony dissapear into his energy shield. Damnit! Another one! He turned to Parson now, shining his light deep into his him. "Don't move," he says gruffly.

Randin Kaye keeps the light steady on Parson, almost smiling. He is indeed learning how to fight this vampire. He gasps a bit, still winded from Anthony's strike, "I don't give a shit what you did today, kid. You're right, maybe I today I started the fight. But..." he grimaces as he speaks, "but for every goddamn human you've ever killed, hell, for every living you've ever harmed, tortured, murdered or any other fucked up thing for that matter..." he spits, "I swear you'll face justice for it."

shakes his head. He didn't understand what this kid was saying. But he knew that this kid had to go down. And now he had him. Yes, now he...suddenly Randin fumbles a bit as he trips over the discarded table shard left by Anthony. The flashlight falls out of his hand. Falls right out of his hand. Parson is in the shadows once again

Randin Kaye stand there numbly, looking down at the floor with disbelief as Parson escapes from his grasp for the second time. Once again, Randin felt more then a bit defeated. Two more criminals escaped when HE had the chance to stop them.

No time to mope about it now, though. And the night wasn't completely lost. In the fight, he had managed to get a nice picture of that strange man who had helped the little vampire bastard. He'd go straight to his office and dig up what he could.

One thing Randin Kaye knew for sure...he would hunt Parson Lessard and Anthony Armada to no end. He would stop them. And as he walked out the door of Gambit's, he counted the bullets, knowing that one of them, one day, would meet the flesh of a sinner

Randin Kaye enters the bar quietly but sternly, his eyes varying over person after person. His scan is stopped short however, as he notices the small argument ensuing between Elias and Andrey. He approaches them carefully, his deep blue eyes scanning the situation for any signs of trouble. He speaks sternly and authoritatively, "Is there a problem here, gentlemen?:

Randin Kaye eyes widen as he notices Chiara. There she was! The bitch who had pretended to mother that vampire bastard, Parson! Of all the characters and criminals he was hunting, she was the one he probably had the MOST questions for. He rises from his spot in the bar, walking over to the vampire warily. He speaks loudly and sternly, "Hold it right there, miss."

Randin Kaye frowns a bit, looking over at Faelwen and then Jaxon. Did these two know anything about what he wanted? He didn't know yet, but he'd sure as hell find out. Lowering his voice slightly but mantaining his strict tone, he speaks again, "Here is fine. We don't need a booth. I'm sure this won't take long, assuming you're cooperative and truthful with me."

Randin Kaye shakes his head, "I have nothing against vampires that follow WCPD law and regulation for their kind. But this kid is a mass-murderer, a criminal, a killer...and I think you know it. You helped him out the first time I caught him, and it appeared as if you were attempting to allow him to escape in our second encounter. Do you realize that I could arrest you right now as an accomplice?"

Randin Kaye eyes flash over to Faelwen. The way she pursed her lips and slightly tensed...something was off about her. Randin needed to be careful, the situation was escalating. He shifts a bit, feeling the weight of his gun as he moves. Chiara was probably a vampire...she looked like one anyway. He swore silently, cursing himself for not taking the time to load the silver bullets in his belt before he approached them. He hoped things didn't get that rough, but...

He looks down at Chiara and smirks. He didn't need to explain himself to this bitch. Parson was a mass-murderer and a mentally-unstable one at that. Vampire kid or no, the world would be better off without him. Who knows how many people were dying right now because of him? And as for that other guy in the fight, Anthony, turns out the bastard was a fucking cannible. This hannibal-lector knockoff has killed his fare-share in his time, leaving the WCPD to clean up the mess. Both evil men. Both needed to go down.

He flashes his badge briefly at Chiara, "That's the only fucking evidence I'm giving you. Now tell me everything you know about Parson Lessard," he nods his head, almost wincing. He had lost his cool. She wasn't gonna tell him shit with that tone. He takes a lighter, more dis-arming voice, "the information given will be much appreciated. You'll be helping to promote justice and saving lives around the city. I cry your pardon, miss. You could be a great help to me."

Randin Kaye puts up with the vampire's lack of respect. He speaks in the same light tone as before, careful not to go off on this woman again, "do you know where he lives or likes to stay? How does Uriel know the boy?" Randin's brows furrow, "how do you know Uriel, for that matter?"

Randin Kaye nods at Chiara quietly. He imagined vampires were good at lying, but accusing her of such wouldn't do him any good. Besides, this one seemed civil and human enough. He felt the slight stirrings of regret build up in his chest. He really had been a dick to her. Maybe she was really telling the truth. Then again...she had made herself seem directly linked with Parson. Nonetheless, he nods to her once, "Thank you for your time, miss. Any further contributions to this case would be appreciated. Know that Parson Lessard is a criminal and murderer. I'm just doing my job and trying to stop him." He turns to leave, but his head jerks back briefly to eye Chiara once more, "And if you see this man, Uriel, in here again..." his eyes flash, "Tell him I'm looking for him."

Randin Kaye rubs his temples fiercly. Now had a headache. Who was this Uriel character? If he was a guardian of Parson's, he could only imagine that there would be another interesting encounter in the future. Groggily, he picks up the faint sound of small footsteps behind him and subtle laughter. He turns groggily, rather off his usual sense of stamina and awareness, potentially giving Parson plenty of time to dissapear before Randin has a chance to notice him.

Randin Kaye snaps up to attention at the entrance of Frederick and Valrina. He could feel sorry about his headache later. There were armed persons in the bar, brandishing naked blades, and hell, the look on their faces just begged for a fight. He approaches them wearily, careful to keep his distance, the deep blue of his eyes glimmering as he analyzes the potention threats. He briefly jerks his head in haste as Parson speaks, then swears as he vanishes. He looks back up at the pair. Deal with them first. Protect the patrons. "Pardon me sir and ma'am," he nods at them both, "I'd ask you to sheathe your weapons." He flashes his WCPD badge briefly.

Randin Kaye notices the insects with caution. That was strange timing...those little buggers didn't look native to Wing City. Could this strange pair have brought them on? He looks over at Chiara, speaking gently, "calm down, miss," he says, then looks back up at the pair, a warning mixed in with his message, "I'm sure these two don't mean any trouble. Isn't that right?"
