Discretion was not used when the young woman entered the tavern, letting the door close rather loudly behind her. It had not been her intent, and it showed with an irritated twitch of her brow. Being new to the area, there was no one or nothing to search for other than a place to sit, and thus she did. She found a lone table and sat down to rest her weary legs with a sigh. How many days had it been since the last time she had seen civilization? The woman couldn't remember by this point, not that it mattered. Just seeing live things was enough call it different.

She wore dark loose clothing, although nothing out of the ordinary. Her boots were mud covered and stained. A cloak wrapped around her shoulders loosely, the edges frayed and jagged at some points and it looked as though there had already been some repair work done to it. The one weapon the girl seemed to carry was a single blade, safe in it's mud-covered leather scabbard.

She had no intent in buying anything; she had no coin to spare. Only rest where it was warm until they kicked the girl back onto the streets again.

"Oh look, someone acting superior to others without just cause," he replied to her, rolling his eyes as he slid over the top of the counter and down behind it. He lowered himself, crouching behind the woodwork to examine the bottles of strange concoctions and other miscellaneous items where only the Bartender could see them. "Interesting," Ripper spoke, as he stood back up with a both a silver sword and some kind of firearm in his arms.

"It seems as though our dear Barkeep here fears the creatures that enter this establishment."

Suddenly, the blade flew through the air, with a good aim to pierce through the Vampiress' chest. Though, it would never reach that far, the Incubi's hand taking hold of the hilt after somehow moving quick enough to intercept it. With the tip merely centimetres from the Huntress' throat, he allowed flames to sprout from his hand and wrap around the cold, silver blade.

"Here, take it."

He flicked the sword towards her, quickly moving away so as to avoid accidentally slicing himself as it span.

"Aha! A lone, young woman, entering the warm Tauvyr Tavern to escape the deathly chill of night and the children associated with it?" He eyed the woman knwon as Re'Altarm, though obviously he knew not her name. "You should not enter the lion's den to seek protection from the lions."

The Vampiress seemed to glare daggers at the man, clearly unamused by his little game, though she was somewhat impressed. She took the hilt of the blade into her hand then threw it with all her might into the wall at the far end, embedding the sword halfway through the blade into the wood "I do not fight for sport or play...I fight to feed. You offer the Huntress nothing of good merrit" She scoffed again then motioned for the fire "Watch the flames dance...this ancient does not wish to engage in such pathetic games" She took yet another sip of her wine and walked towards the flames, moving towards the opposite side of the hearth and watched him

"What is your name boy? And as for my acting superior, I am superior. I am one of the first, I am an Ancient Vampire...I am above you all and my rule absolute"

The woman turned her silvery stare over to the man who had addressed her. "Perhaps one should not assume I'm not worse than those lions." She said starkly before turning around once again, folding her thin arms over her chest. Laying down on the booth seat, she crossed her legs, one of the muddy boots bouncing on her knee.

"You ladies sure do seem to have issues with authority," he replied, shaking his head a little. "I will not tell you my name, because you do not need to know it. Similarly, I don't care about your name, or the claim that you are 'above us all'. You're just a creature in this tavern, because like the rest of us, you either have little better to do or need the company of other creatures, which simply proves you are ultimately.. Well.. Vulnerable."

He turned back to the other woman, who seemed to be trying to come across as far more relaxed and open to conversation. All he saw, however, was a muddy boot bouncing on a knee, a sure sign of, if not overt, then at least invert nervousness. "Relax, Miss. I will not hurt you here."

A smirk crept up on her face, listening to the conversation between Ripper and Driselda. It was only when she was readdressed did she seem to perk back up to alertness. "Oh, I'm not afraid of you hurting me, here or anywhere." She stated simply. Tilting her head to look at the ancient vampire. "Nor am I afraid of her. I do admit I have some issues with authority and playing nice with others. But if you behave yourselves, I'll go on and pretend that you both are lesser beings and have no need for my acknowledgement." She yawned, pulling her cloak closer around her.

She knew she should probably watch her tongue. She was too tired to really get herself into trouble here. But she often spoke without thinking, so why was this time any different?

Sheodin sighed and shook his head at the shenanigans of the other tavern patrons. If a fight broke out, the arch-mage could stop it with a single spell. That would, however, break his cover. He checked his illusion and magical veil and tightened any loose threads.

"Well..." he cleared his throat, returning his attention to Demor. "If you truly desire a name, you may call me Sheo. Tell me, what do you know about elemental or arcane magic?"

"Very well, Miss, you go ahead and refuse to acknowledge me. I do not mind; truly, I don't," he said, grinning towards her as he passed her the old firearm from the counter. "Here, have a gift. I feel as though you perhaps need it. For your own protection, of course."

"Now, for elemental magic. It is both simple and complex, I find. I can prove to you that I can control the element of fire, but I have always been able to do so thanks to my very nature, so while I have a decent mastery over that particular 'style', I cannot explain to a trained mage how it is possible for me to use it, nor could I teach another. Perhaps you would care to enlighten me, if this is a subject you are interested in. How does one turn the arcane into the elements?"

Re'Altarm rose a single brow to the man, her pupils suddenly looking more cat-like. "And what would I do with a weapon I have hardly any training in using? You might as well hand me a rock, or a pine cone. I would have more use out of those than I would with that piece of.." She stopped short of her description, deciding better of what she was going to use. "Delicate machinery." She finished off, although her tone displayed the distaste of her chosen description.

"You keep hinting at me getting hurt. Perhaps you would explain before I determine you a minor annoyance that needs to be taken care of before I sleep?"

Demor smiled and nodded to the Old Man. "Very well, Sheo it is then." he said. The male Drachini seemed to ignore the strange happenings at the tavern with ease, as if he were exposed to something worse daily. He walked over to the table where Sheo sat and sat on the arm of a chair.

"To answer your question, I would have to say that I don't know too much of Arcane, however I do know a decent amount of Elemental Magic. You see, I use Storm Dragon Slayer Magic, which is powerful enough to slay a Dragon. It is a mixture of Lightning, Water, and Wind Dragon Slayer Magic. I was taught this Magic, and the other three by a Dragon by the name of Annyo Mitne." he explained.

"If you wish, we can step outside and I can give you a demonstration of some of my spells." Demor offered.

"Everyone is capable of getting hurt," he assured. "For instance, there are infinite calamities that could fall upon you every single second you will ever live. And not just you, but any single person in all of existence; whose experiences rebound through space and time. A man blinded by a fly, who crashes on the motorway. The vehicles who get held up, which makes a woman late home. The serial murderer in the alley, who she might have avoided if a child did not leave the window open on his father's car, allowing the fly to enter in the first place. The mother of the child who left her purse in the back, requiring the child to go and collect it. The affair she was having that was always on her mind, resulting her purse being forgotten. The man who was abused as a child, leading him to seek affairs with married women."

"I could go on for all eternity like this, you know. I am simply saying who knows when you might need such a weapon. For instance, I could trail you home later and catch you unawares. Perhaps I could even attempt to kill you right here and now?"

The woman had placed her hand on her chin, tapping along side her temple as she listened to the man ramble on. "And that was not my point." She said simply. "I have been trained in the use of a different weapon altogether, one that I am more comfortable and more capable of using than the waste of rust you handed me. Handing me that gun was similar to telling a child to run on stilts, when the child is more talented in swimming or juggling."

She stretched her arms above her head, her shoulders complaining at the effort. "But I have a weapon of my choice. Thank you for your concern for your lack of constraint."

"You are very welcome, Miss. I will certainly try to constrain my desires when you walk home this night, though I warn you to be aware of your surroundings at all time. Sometimes, I can't help becoming a bit of an.. Anima-"

The blade pierced his chest; a sword of great size and width forcing through him with the weight of a seven-foot man behind it. The huge, bulking hunter had impaled him completely, and as he rose his sword higher into the air, Ripper's feet left the ground and dangled. The Incubi coughed blood, but did not make a noise of pain. Instead, he placed both hands on the tip of the blade sticking out of his chest, and began to push himself backwards.

In an attempt to stop him, the hunter held his hand out, pressing it against the Demon's back and keeping him at arm's length. It would have worked, too, if a second blade of black steel did not pierce through the back of the man's hand, causing him to roar.

"Perhaps you could help," Ripper suggested, as blades of dark steel pierced the soles of his shoes and touched the ground below him, allowing him to support his weight.

A frown formed on her lips at the sight of the blade erupting through the incubus' chest. "Mmm. Perhaps I could." She answered him. "Or perhaps I won't? Especially since I want safe passage home tonight..." She fell silent for a moment then sighed. "Fiiine." She groaned as she stood up from the booth.

The woman's stature was rather short. She was nearly five foot two inches, and she was proud of those two inches. Her sister was only five foot, after all.

Instead of reaching for the blade to her side, she folded both arms behind her back and nearly marched over to the hunter, who was most likely still roaring over his now ruined hand. "Please leave my friend alone and let him go. If not, I'm going to have to kill you." She said, as sweetly as she possibly could muster. She even gave him a sweet smile and a giggle to make it hard to take her serious.

"I'm doing this to protect girls like you, young woman," the man growled, not pulling his hand from the blade, but rather continuing to push against it. The blade had already pierced his hand.. He might as well make the most of it!

He winced, blood trickling further and staining the black blade as it continued to push through. But the way it was wounding him.. Was he truly forcing it through his hand further just to keep the Demon away - or was it growing on it's own?

The answer soon came as it suddenly shot forwards, piercing through the man's throat. The blade detached, letting Ripper drop to the ground with a gaping wound in his back that slowly began to heal. The moment he was free of the grip, he span, bringing one of the blades growing from his heel around to cut the head of the hunter clean off.

The corpse dropped, blood sprayed and the blades on his feet fell away, letting him fall back to his own shoes.

"It seems I may need to leave."

The girl pouted and stretched her arms above her head. All men seemed to have this strange concept to protect young 'girls'. Sometimes that's what would lead to their death, like the poor man that just lost his head. The young woman sighed and looked mildly annoyed.

"Men like him confuse me." She admitted, spitting out her thoughts before she filtered them again. "Say we need protection, when obviously he cannot protect himself... How did he expect to be useful?" She closed one eye and looked over to Ripper. "Mmm. I might have to go as well. I may have not helped you, but I didn't stop you either, equally at fault." She sighed exasperatedly, her shoulders drooping. "And I was so looking forward to a nap in a warm place, too.."

Anger came over her features and she pointed at Ripper. "You owe me a place to sleep!" She growled.

Sheodin grumbled as the hostilities escalated in the tavern. He stretched out his hand and his wooden staff leaned into his grip. The old man returned his attention to Demor. "I see... Perhaps you can be of use to me. Come, let us see what you can do."

The old man slowly rose from his seat while maintaining a cautious eye towards the other patrons. Hopefully even they would not see sport in haggling a seemingly defenseless old man. His staff clacked against the wooden floor while his wrapped feet slid along the boards. He didn't have the time nor the motivation to meddle with their affairs.

"Well, I'll at least do them a favour and not leave a body lying around," Ripper told her, flame igniting from the point of his finger and spraying down over the corpse at super-heated temperature. They were highly controlled, barely licking the wooden floor or furniture around him. The body, however? Burnt to a crisp in barely fifteen seconds; ash that needed to be swept away.

"Oi!"

The armoured guards seemed to slip out of the shadows, their nonlethal firearms aimed upon the pair; Ripper and Re'Altarm alike. "Outside. Now," came their chilling order in unison.

"We do not want violence in here. Take your business out to the square."

"Then... Why didn't you step in earlier, when he attacked me?" Asked Lomeion, his eyes rolling as he slowly made his way towards the door.

"Shut up. And you, too," the guard pointed towards Re'altarm. "Out. Now."

Lomeion followed their orders, his form passing through the open door with a sigh into the cold night. Once outside, assuming the woman had followed him, he looked at her and narrowed his eyes. "I don't owe you anything. You know what I am, right?"

The woman looked desperate as she entered this part of city. Her eyes were wide with fright, and the stench was almost enough to make her gag. But Re'Altarm had not eaten anything in three days, and she was sure there was some discarded treasure here just waiting to be plucked and sold off for a good bit of coin-- even if it did stink.

The woman wore rags, and under all the dirt and mud she could have been very pretty. But even before moving to this city, she had lived a hard life. Her hair was unkempt and coated with the dirt she had slept on the night before, and her golden skin was made darker by the mud she had walked in all day. But her eyes were clear and determined-- No one could break her spirit at least.

No, she had a plan this time! Get in, dig as fast as she could, find the treasure she dreamed would be here, clean it up a bit, and go straight to that black market everyone kept talking about to sell it off for whatever she could. Yeah that was it!

She found the nearest trash heap and began to dig through it rather loudly, wanting to find that 'treasure' and get out of this area as fast as possible.
