Requiem, the Final Rest

A harbinger of death and doom, ruler over a realm of Darkness.

0 · 232 views · located in Twisted Path

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Jerico Do'Lantul

Description

Image
Covered from head to toe in black and purple armor with white trim. In essence, a 7'0" faceless horror whose very pressence inspires fear and hopelessness. Very little more can be said.

Personality

Never breathes a word to anyone. A single-minded being with only one goal; to envelope the world in Darkness, and to bring about the Final Rest. Will attack any who come within a certain, predetermined distance.

Equipment

Covered from head to toe in purple and black armor, with a red and black cape as well as a two-handed sword of unique design. Summons Darkness to his hands to manipulate his surroundings(for lack of a better comparison, see Raven's powers from Teen Titans, though these powers vary, somewhat).

History

A dark being with a history as long as time, itself. For as long as Darkness has exsisted, so, too, has Requiem. From the very begining, he has sought to envelope the world in Darkness. Wherever he has appeared, his actions have remained uniform. He appears, suddenly, bending time and space around him to warp into an area not as occupied by civilization. From here, he begins to create a portal of Darkness, from which beings of Darkness will come forth, their sole purpose to wreak havoc and to bring about an age of Darkness upon the world. Should he succeed, the entire world shall be enveloped in Darkness, along with anyone and everyone within it.

Requiem, the Final Rest stands, alone in the center of a large area of desolation, where no living thing remains. The grass and trees have simply.. vanished, replaced by charred soil and remains. Remnants of branches and leaves scatter the areas, the only proof that trees were ever there, to begin with.

Requiem, the Final Rest 's armor crackles with the same dark energy that resides at the edges of the perimeter. Although these traces of Darkness will not harm anyone who dares cross the threshold, they seem to be, slowly, making their way towards the center of the crater, where Requiem stands. He makes no movement, his faceless helmet staring emotionlessly forward, not aknowledging anyone or anything nearby. The only movement comes from red cape that flows from his back.

Requiem, the Final Rest does not turn towards either person as they approach. A low hiss escapes from his helmet, and a still breeze would blow through the area, outwards from the crater towards all who stood outside of it. The crater, itself, was several meters in diameter, and was a perfect circle that radiates out in every direction. The area would be enough for all to enter.

Something was happening just above Requiem. The energy on the extremities of the crater was coming together, slowly, and rose into the air to collaborate, forming a sphere of Darkness, which grew with each passing minute. To anyone sensitive enough to notice, the sphere was forming a portal.. to another realm. Requiem's realm. A realm of Darkness, from which beings of malcontent would pour, filling the world untill it was enveloped in Darkness. Requiem was it's guardian.

Requiem, the Final Rest had swallowed several worlds, in the past, and had come here, to Teran, to repeat the process. He was a simple messenger.. the bringer of the Final Rest, for any world that he visited. He lifts his great sword up, slowly, into the air, bringing the tip just below the sphere. The wind would pick up, again, this time coming from without the crater and sweeping towards the sphere, which would begin to rotate and shift, slightly, in shape. Requiem remains deathly silent as the energy from around his body begins to leave him and add to the sphere, which began to grow larger, still.

The crater in which Requiem stood would begin to grow, in size, the grass on the ground dying, visibly, as their energy is consumed, presumably, by Requiem, as he pours more energy into the sphere. The perimeter would continue to expand towards those that were watching.

Requiem, the Final Rest releases another low hiss as the wind in the area picks up, stronger, this time, as the clouds above begin to shift in the sky, coming together over the sphere of Darkness. The sky would begin to darken as lightning arcs through the air, high above. Requiem slowly turnes his helm towards Theatricality as he leaps high into the air.. and into the perimeter of the crater. Immediately, his large sword shifts downward, severing it's connection with the sphere as energy stops being drawn from the soil and from Requiem.

Requiem, the Final Rest paid no heed to Viogandr's words, as he had not yet entered Requiem's predetirmined "kill zone". Requiem takes a step forward, slowly, as though his body was moving through water, his helmeted "face" still upturned towards Theatricality. His swords rises, the tip pointed towards the man's chest as a focused beam of energy shoots forth, attempting to spear him through the heart.

Requiem, the Final Rest bends his knees, slowly and deliberately, before leaping high into the air, traveling at an alarming rate towards Theatricality and his sphere of altered gravity. The grass below, however, would only remain alive for a few moments, as the sphere would simply draw in the repurposed energy from their roots no sooner than they had been revitalized, leaving them lifeless, once more. The sphere grows in size, once more, as more energy is fed into it. Requiem draws in his sword as it begins to glow purple, Darkness enveloping the other-worldly steel. With a great swing of his sword, Requiem creates a wave of dark energy, which carried the strength and intensity to pull appart matter at a molecular level. It would cut a swath through Theatricality's sphere, filling roughly half of the space he had created for himself.

An incessant battle of opposing energies would errupt, the sphere drawing in the energy supplied to the plant-life within the crater, while Viogandr continued to try and revive it. The result would be Viogandr's energies being simply siphoned into the sphere, albeit indirectly. No matter how much energy he put forth, the sphere would simply continue to draw it into itself, growing in size and power with each moment he does so. He was doing Requiem's job, for him.

Requiem, the Final Rest would halt, in mid-air, just shy of entering Theatricality's sphere. Another low hiss would escape from Requiem's helmet as he begins to lower himself back down to the ground. Theatricality would have to wait; so long as he did not try to interfere with the portal, he was of no concern to Requiem. Viogandr, however, seemed to be trying to intervene in the destruction of the plant-life surrounding the crater. Though he was, as of yet, unsuccessful, he could become a nuisance. Requiem lands with ease and grace upon the ground, his attentions now turned towards Viogandr.

Requiem, the Final Rest lifts his free hand up and to one side, towards the sphere of darkness. Immediately, it would stop it's movements and regain it's original shape, quivering only slightly at the pull of magical powers against it. Requiem, being of the same world as this sphere, reigned supreme in commanding it. No outside power could interfere with it's intended course without, first, removing Requiem from the picture. With a fluid sweep of his sword, a gale of wind would blow through the area, towards the old man. Unless he found a way to root himself to the ground, these winds would easily be strong enough to blow him over, if not away from the area.

Requiem, the Final Rest straightens his sword as another focused beam of Darkness fires from the tip, towards the center of the icy mass, where Viogandr stands. Meanwhile, a slow stream of energy would begin to flow from his free hand, towards the sphere, which would begin, again, to grow, in size. It would now be several meters across by the same distance, high, it's texture uniform and looking liquidous, as it swirls, beneath the surface.

Requiem, the Final Rest shifts his hand from the sphere and reaches, instead, for the old man. The dark energy that coursed through his body would begin to seep into hie very being as Requiem attempts to tear Viogandr appart from the inside. What Darkness that Viogandr was able to release into the sphere would be absorbed easily, without harming it.

Requiem, the Final Rest releases one final hiss as another gale-force wind billows through the area. Requiem had failed. The portal could no longer be opened, safely, as there was too much attention focused upon it. He brings his sword sweeping in front of himself as he leaps backwards.. directly into the sphere. As he does this, the clouds above begin to swirl around it, lightning arcing downward dangerously as the whirling Darkness begins to expand, rapidly. Just as it would seem as though the sphere was about to swallow both Viogandr and Theatricality, alike, it would implode upon itself, before unleashing a horrendous explosion of black energy, in one final attempt to wipe the meddlers out. This blast would encompass much of the Twisting Path, destroying all life that it touches, plants and animals included. All of those in Terra need not worry.. Requiem would return. He would, someday soon, attempt to, once again, open the dark portal and envelope the world in Darkness. He would, one day.. bring about the Final Rest.
