Righteous Addax

A member of Al'Kaera Squadron.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Order Knight

Description

Captain Adoril Hanja, AKA Righteous Addax, is the lowest ranking officer of the Al'Kaera squadron. He has light brown hair and stands roughly six and a half feet tall, and of middling body structure. Similar to Shine, he rarely removes his combat suit, however he more commonly takes his helmet off. He has no facial hair to speak of, and bright blue eyes.

The CS-27 combat jumpsuit is a marvel of engineering, being one of few issued to military forces. He does not use the standard colors, opting instead for silver in general, with blue markings and stripes here and there. The suit also has a slight camouflage function, allowing the user to modify the color and texture over a matter of minutes. It is entirely airtight with an oxygen supply capable of lasting up to twelve hours, or further extended periods if the subject is put into stasis. Small jets placed on crucial areas of the suit also allow for enhanced mobility in vacuum, the life of which is a maximum of two hours, but can be recharged. In addition, the suit is made of an enhanced polymer that allows a small amount of protection from bullets, but proves sufficient in deflecting most small debris in vacuum. The suit has a number of pockets, slots, and assorted clips to hold smaller objects; two larger pockets on the thighs, a utility belt with ten small pouches and five magazine clips (Interchangeable to allow for more clips/more pouches).

The helmet of the CS-27 also has a number of capabilities. The shaded visor and HUD, and the Antenna which protrudes about an inch away from the back of the head being the most prominent. The helmet has a number of vision modes as well- Night vision, telescopic sights, heat vision, and a few others for miscellaneous tasks.. A voice modulator is also included in the helmet, allowing the subject to change their voice at will. A filtration system is included in the helmet for a steady supply of clean oxygen, which automatically closes if the suit detects radiation, toxins, etc. and reverts to the internal oxygen supplies. Flood lamps are included, in addition to several other small additions such as a detachable snake camera (One hour battery life if detached), radio system, sensory equipment with wind direction/speed monitor, and up-links compatible with most standard weapons and equipment of the EDN and affiliated groups. Similarly to the changing colors of the suit, the visor can change color, externally and internally.

Personality

Adoril is much like his sister and brother in most regards- loyal, intelligent, and generally kind. Adoril seems to have acquired most of the silly and joking aspects of the trio, having a tendency to crack jokes in the middle of battle or try and lighten a situation up by looking at the bright side. His leadership abilities are as such not quite on par with the others, as he is afraid of pushing his units too hard. When given a team of confident and capable troops however, he is just as efficient as the rest of the squad leaders.

Righteous Addax's Story

Righteous Addax walks into the bar and looks around- to a casual observer, he would look strikingly similar to Gentle Shine, wearing the exact same jumpsuit and colors. Those more familiar or looking carefully might notice that the helmet however was different, somewhat shorter and with a smaller visor. The figure seemed to be scanning for someone in particular.

Righteous Addax would find itself staring back at Violet, which she might realize when the figure began walking towards her through the crowd. Addax stops in front of her, looking down at her in her seat. "Are you Violet," he asks- it obviously was not Shine's voice. Deep, course, and worn with years of conflict.

Righteous Addax does something certainly quite un-Shine like. He reaches up and goes about removing his helmet, snapping the seals and twisting it off, to hold it in the crook of his arm. The man had short, light brown hair, and a rather young looking face, with piercing blue eyes. "It's about Colonel Shine," he says. His face was similarly somber, almost pained- his voice however, was actually very light and smooth, contrary to how he sounded with his helmet on.

Righteous Addax looks down at the floor, reaching into a pocket on his suit and taking out a sealed letter. He hands it over without looking back at her- the letter was signed by a Legion fleet officer of high rank, apparently.

Righteous Addax nods once, sadly. He turns away from her, unable to bear looking at her at the moment she opens the letter and sees its contents. He seemed to be twiddling his fingers in front of himself, at this point.

Righteous Addax was snickering to himself, hearing the tearing paper, and apparently getting a fair kick out of his prank. He turns back around, his previously somber face lit up with a wide smile.

Righteous Addax snickers. "Oh-hoh-hoh," he says flirtatiously, "Somebody likes the Colonel." He flops himself down on the nearest stool. "Your kid is adorable, by the way. So, name's Adoril, though most folks call me Righteous Addax, or just Addax."

Righteous Addax nods a bit, putting on a thoughtful expression. "Wrath of a woman scorned, type thing," he asks as he peers over. "Y'know, he didn't plan for me to trick you like that. That was all my genius." He sets himself up proudly, posing. Apparently he had picked up some of Shine's traits, all the same.

Righteous Addax scowls, though manages to keep his grin partially intact. "I'm a Captain, thank you very much. Captain Addax to you, Mini-shine simply will not do. If you expect me to be your friend, you'll have to get a referral from Shine's end." He snickers at his poor rhyming.

Righteous Addax waves disdainfully at her refusal to call him something respectable, and puts his helmet back on. "Yeah, right. Well, I guess you don't want me sticking around," he suggests and stands up. "I'll tell Shine how horribly, horribly rude you were." With his helmet back on, his voice had that war-torn, grainy sound to it again.

Righteous Addax peers over at her. "I'm sure he'll love that. In his words," he suddenly sounds almost exactly like Shine does with his helmet on, "Stay beautiful, sweetheart." He compliments this with the wink sound and finger-point combination, then reverts back to his 'usual' voice.

Righteous Addax content, Addax makes his way back through the crowd, pushing aside people seemingly at random. He exits the bar rather quickly after that, heading back to whatever business he left to bring him here.

Righteous Addax sits next to Celia, ordering a glass of mead for himself. He looks over at Celia and taps his helmet. "Hello," he says, his voice gravely and deep, that of a war torn veteran. "Joining us in our revelry, hmm?"

Righteous Addax takes the offered member in his own gloved hand and shakes firmly. "A pleasure. I'm Righteous Addax. You can just call me Addax though, for short." He peers over at the rest of the squadron, who were likely waiting for various orders of mead, bourbon, and rum.

Righteous Addax chuckles deeply. "Addy works too. So, you come here often," he asks, making small talk. The lack of a drink to sip at was obviously messing with his 'game.'

Righteous Addax nods in response to Celia. "Well, that's a shame. But hey, here to drink your cares away, and with some kick-ass pilots to boot, right?"

Righteous Addax chuckles. Something about the way he was speaking might suggest he wasn't quite so old and war-torn as his voice would suggest. He jerks a thumb over his shoulder at the other pilots. "I don't think the Colonel would appreciate that," he says. "Though I might take it off later tonight, if there's enough call for it." He looks at the bar again. "Say, where are the drinks?"

Righteous Addax stops waving at the sight of the red circles. "Huh. Don't see that every day," he says. "Or, well, I guess around here you might," he adds while looking down at his drink accusingly. With a shrug, he takes another drink. E.V.A.R's scan would show that he was armed with a pistol, a UCP, sitting easily in its holster on his hip.

Righteous Addax stares at her for a moment, then, in an impossibly deep voice he points and makes a sound akin to a furious roar. He then reverts back to his normal grainy, war-torn voice. "Just bringing folks over for drinks. Though, you don't look like one to partake of anything but oil, am I right?"
