Rogal Dorn

"Discipline. Duty. Unyielding Will. These are the measures by which every warrior is judged. Unarmed, a warrior with these qualities will still find victory, no matter how long or arduous the path."

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Specmarine, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Rogal Dorn

Gender: Male

Age: Ageless

Faction: Imperium Of Man

Appearance: Image

Personality: Dorn is never compromising, never stinting in any aspect of duty. The stone in his soul was his ability to bear whatever his father needed of him, an unyielding nature which made him both a master of defence in war, and an indomitable fighter on the attack. An Implacable disciple in the pursuit of the cause given flesh; without compromise and in who loyalty and duty was as integral as blood and breath.

Wargear:

The Auric Armour - Commonly dressed in baroque Power Armour of burnished copper and gold, Dorn also wore a red velvet cloak and an unfurled eagle-wing motif was heavily present on much of his wargear, most notably on a decorative section of his armour that rose above the shoulders.

Storm's Teeth - This colossal Chainsword, too weighty for any but a Primarch to wield, is said to have been crafted by the weaponmasters of Inwit before the coming of the Emperor. Its razored teeth can shred metal, stone and flesh with ease and while the Primarch of the Imperial Fists Legion has many arms at his disposal, some relics of far greater power, it is this blade which has served him faithfully for so long that he favours most.

The Voice of Terra - Presented to Rogal Dorn by the Legio Custodes to honour the Primarch's appointment as Praetorian of Terra, this tactical Bolter follows the pattern of the Legio Custodes' own weaponry, albeit redesigned for the hand and might of a Primarch to wield.

Teleport Homer - A Teleport Homer was a device of ancient Imperial technology utilised by the Adeptus Astartes, the forces of the Inquisition and the Chaos Space Marines to allow teleportation through the Warp from one location, usually an orbiting starship, to a point on a planetary surface. A Teleport Homer transmits a special signal that suits of Terminator Armour can lock onto to allow their users to teleport to a given location through the Immaterium with great accuracy by using teleporter technology located at the point of origin.

Frag Grenade - A Frag Grenade is an anti-personnel grenade commonly used by the military forces of the Imperium of Man. It produces a blast of shrapnel that can shred unarmoured troops. The blast has the tactical advantage of forcing the enemy to duck into cover to avoid damage. In effect, the blast of a Frag Grenade neutralises any movement advantage held by an opposing force by pinning them to their position.

The Ætos Dios - Following several attempts on Rogal Dorn's life following the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, Mago Telluria constructed for him a unique heavily customised personal Thunderhawk gunship to convey him both in battle and to shield him as he conducted missions in respect of the defences of Terra. In lieu of its usual weapons, this particular gunship was equipped with a Turbo-Laser and a single Titan Void Shield.

Background:

After the internment of the Emperor in the Golden Throne, Dorn was stricken with grief. He felt the Emperor's near-demise to be his fault and led his Legion on a crusade of penitence across the Imperium. He was summoned back to Terra when Roboute Guilliman announced the adoption of his Codex Astartes, turning the large Space Marine Legions into the much smaller 1,000-man Space Marine Chapters. Dorn was initially outraged at this proposal, feeling that the Imperium blamed him (and rightly so, he thought) for the fall of his Brother Marines. However, realizing what damage another internal conflict could do to the fragile peace of the Imperium, Dorn finally relented and agreed to the Second Founding. This was a dark period in Rogal Dorn's life; he had both failed the Emperor and his Legion now faltered without the guiding light of the Master of Mankind.

Rogal Dorn is believed to have "died" in 781.M31 whilst fighting a Chaos Fleet during the 1st Black Crusade that had emerged from the Eye of Terror under the command of the returned Abaddon the Despoiler, with a vastly outnumbered Imperial force. Seeing the importance of attacking the enemy fleet while they were still preparing to invade Imperial space, Dorn relied on hit-and-run attacks until his reinforcements could arrive. Dorn "died" onboard the Chaotic Despoiler-class Battleship Sword of Sacrilege after leading a desperate attack on its bridge. The only trace of the missing Primarch uncovered by the Imperial Fists' subsequent searching was a single fist. Dorn's skeletal hand was returned to the Phalanx where, over the years, it has been scrimshawed, the bones intricately engraved with the heraldry of all the Imperial Fists Chapter's previous Chapter Masters.

However with the Emperor of mandkind in danger once more, Rogal Dorn has appeared from hiding. To atone for his failures.

So begins...

In orbit above Holy Terra, as backup arrived the Chaos warriors were prepared for a flank. More wormholes opened up sending gravton lasers right through only to it the Imperium ships or Commonwealth ships, of course some managed to hit multiple ships tearing them apart and crushing them.

Meanwhile on the surface of Holy Terra, the demonic presence of the demons grew along with the increased ferocity of the Chaos warriors. With all the blood that was spilled on the world all the warriors would now hear the whispers of the Chaos God of war. Telling them to continue killing, to begin fighting among themselves. The Guardsman already broken after watching their fellow soldiers get turned to walking boils lost it once the whispers began and turned to face the space marines and Irregular allies and opened fire on them. "Blood! For the blood god! It must be spilled in his name!" They yelled as they were lost to the ruinous powers of chaos.

A pair of Guardsman Turned to Ralen armed wit ha pair of Plasma Guns. Even though they should have ignored him they were lost to the powers of chaos. "Your blood shall satisfy the blood God! Your skull shall adorn my armor! BLOOD! BLOOD!" One of them yelled as he fired a ball of superheated plasma.

Inside the palace, as Alekassandra threw the case at Arnok it harmlessly bounced off of him and he simply continued to walk. "What a pathetic attempt to harm me, to think the rats try to fight back. Its hilariously futile, whatever...This all finally end..." He called behind him as he entered the throne room.

The Centurion while busy turned around when he felt a massive disturbance in the throne room to discover someone was using the corpse of the Emperor to dance around. However, suddenly a single gunshot rung across the Throne room. Everyone across Holy Terra could feel the gunshot echo across the land, they all felt despair for the first time ever. They knew that this feeling marked the end of the Emperor Of Man, the man who they promised to defend was now dead. The feeling washed over the Planet and across the other chapters, the Librarians could feel his presence fade away. The Emperor was dead...

The Centurion shook in place, filled with both anger and despair. He had failed again, he had failed yet again to defend the Emperor. But for Carn, he fell to his knees as they had failed to save him on time. He was silent, soon they were all going to vanish into the warp and die...However that never came, but what came was a massive presence.

Suddenly a light brighter than the sun escaped from the cracks of the case that had been thrown. The Light was so powerful that Arnoks Existance was being burned away. "I-I-Impossible! This light! It cannot be! HE...SHOULD....BE...DEAD!" He yelled out as he was forced to open a tear into the warp and was forced to retreat. Suddenly the case opened up by itself, and the light soon blinded everyone in the room and stood a figure the marines knew all too well. "Never lose hope children of mankind! My son, and my faithful follower. Your Emperor has returned!" The man himself, the Emperor spoke wearing the garbs of the Commonwealth. The Centurion stood at attention once he saw him and took off his helmet to reveal another familiar face in Imperium history. It was Rogal Dorn of of the Space Marine Primarchs. "Greetings father, I am ready to help you protect the Imperium once again."

The Emperor soon turned to the mercs in the throne room, although his mind was still gather piece by piece he looked at Patraeko and gave a subtle nod in his direction. And when he looked at the mercernaries he was not happy to see them. "This is your first and only warning, leave now or face my wrath! My nation needs me so step aside!"

The dancing man with the skeleton he had been closely inspecting caught Ralen offguard, but when the two guardsmen opened fire on him, his blade War simply absorbed the weapons fire. Chaos soldiers, nurgle demons, clashing forces, absolute insanity...

Ralen just eyed the room and shook his head. "No, just plain no." he said aloud, striking out with a casual flick of the blade at the guardsmen, who turned to dust the moment the blade touched them. He then turned and with an exasperated sigh sat upon the throne, the blade lazily hanging from his hand as he held his head in the other one and pondered just where exactly he was.

When the God emperor made his appearance Ralen looked at the blinding display and rolled his eyes. "Great, another showoff, as if there aren't enough of those already." He grumbled, absentmindedly spinning War in circles in his hand.

Urlaraz howled wildly as he felt the Corpse God's mind vanish from the warp. Victory, victory at last! This would be the Age of Chaos, the final Age! He roared with triumph, unleashing bolt after bolt of Warp-powered lightning through each massive hole the GUO tore in the xeno's pitiful defense. By the time the rest of the Black Legion made it to the shattered barricade, the great Sorcerer had killed dozens of Shaki'lyu and Marine alike. Nothing but ash remained as Bloodfilth charged on towards the Throne Room.

Daemos, a handful of marines, and whatever was left of the Third Company had retreated, catching up with the High Emperor and company just in time to see Patraeko's little show. A wave of horror washed over him, and he stood stunned as the case erupted.

None of that however was the important parts. None of that is what truly mattered. Ever event of this battle, of this day, of the last millennium had been carefully planned out in advance. Every breath, ever twitch, ever death had been foreseen and manipulated to this exact outcome. The world was marching along, unaware as ever, to it's truest doom.

The second the Emperor of Man paused his speech, disembodied cackling filled the room. Deep and malicious, it bounced around for what seemed like an eternity. "You've done well, Father." The almost forgotten voice of Magnus The Red spat the final word out with venom, as an Ethereal shade in his image materialized in front of the Emperor. "Unfortunately for you.." Without warning the entire room erupted in lightning, purple and yellow blasts striking everyone in an instant.

What happened next was the fruits of a most horrible plan..

Everyone in hall leading up to the throne room had been torn from the Materium, and forced onto a dead planet within the Warp. Agony and madness surrounding and attacking them all, as Magnus' laugh echoed again. The part was the Emperor's fate, for the unimaginably powerful spell Magnus wove was tearing his mind out of his body, quickly casting his presence back into the Warp.
In no time at all his body would be a useless husk, and even for a man of the Emperor's strength, the pain would be horrendous.

"Did you truly think Tzneetch would be so foolish, Father? Did you think I WAS BLIND? Need I remind you, I only lost one eye, and I've still seen more than you! Still out smarted you! Remember your little Webway project? Well this is mine! Soon you'll be just another lost soul in the Warp for Chaos to do with as it pleases, and no silly Throne to help you." The shade stepped forward again, now turned to face the crowd of everyone else he'd drug into the Warp. "You have all been defeated. There is no escape, and the age of Man is dying before you. Pledge your souls to me now, and I may cease your torture."

Transferring to the warp was NOT something Ralen was going to accept, especially not when it was not by his will. He hopped up and took one quick look around, drawing his sword peace, and striking it crossways with War.

In that flash of steel on steel, a new blade was formed. Balance, The Glaive of Reality, wielded by Ralen the Conquerer. And The Conquerer raised a hand, and the six foot long broadsword raised itself into the air. With a toss of his hand, the blade made a single full circle, cutting a tear in the weave of fate itself, unmaking events as they unfolded.

With a crashing sound of thunder, reality was ripped open, the very warp was torn apart and the fabric of reality was sheared. The Weave of Fate, exposed and left pulsing with raw power was revealed. Ralen reached out and grasped these Celestial threads that bound the All, and remade existence. With an explosive retort, time and space were reforged, and Ralen stood within the Throne room.

And yet the infuriated son of the Nostari Empire was not finished. He unleashed a roar of primal fury and slammed his hand into the ground, whereupon the blade struck into the ground like a spear, and all those beings not of this plane of reality that had not been taken back to the fel pit they belonged in would find themselves forcibly ripped back to their own warp. If they tried to fight it, then their place in the fabric of reality would unravel, an effect made apparent as their bodies were ripped assunder, appearing as though dissolving into motes and threads of light. In this manner, the battle in Holy Terra would be ended, the Chaos soldiers gasping for life as their very existence was revoked, their bodies torn apart on the way back to the warp.

With the smoke cleared, Ralen sighed, his eyes closed. He reached up and placed his hands upon Balance, and the blade dissolved into War and Peace, which he returned to their rightful place at his side. He then opened his eyes and looked out upon the Devastation left behind, and grimaced with hatred. He turned and Spat upon the throne, and departed the place through the twisted remains that his wrath had left.

Trami's mind was finally becoming clear again. Even if this new place was filled with incredible amounts of Psychic power it was nothing that Trami hadn't experienced before when exploring his way throughout the many expanses of mental powers. He was quite relieved as the Emperor seemed to have surivived the inital attack, he finally understood what that Briefcase was all about. For a moment he thought of commenting the fact that he was not told about this, but now they were faced with something of much more importance. The extermination of these fools. But really, They were surely focusing to hard to damage the dear Emperor, Trami could feel how the Emperor's mind was writhing in pain. he had grown tired, It was time to show the power of the Commonwealth, Or more so, The power of Trami San

Okay! That's it! My dear High Emperor, Lets finish this. Alekassandra, Morgan, Daemos I do hope we can show these zealous fanatics why they do now interfere with us. Please assist me in the front. With these words, Spoken between gentle lips Trami flew forward with an unnatural speed, It more seemed like his feet were softly floating above the ground. This sudden attack was directly aimed towards Magnus, Arriving within an Arm distance from the huge man Trami allowed his hand to hover directly infront of Magnus face, Before releasing a crushing storm of psychic power enough to rival that of an Ultramarine Librarian. Even if the attack was such a direct one aimed straightly towards Magnus it was more an attempt to disrupt his attack on the Emperor, Several aftershocks was also directed towards Urlaraz and Arnok, Trami had chosen his prefered opponents. He would at the very least buy the Emperor some time

The battle in high orbit waged on, more and more graviton lasers travelled across the star system towards their targets of the Chaos fleet, wormholes quickly swapping a large portion of them to collide with Commonwealth and Imperium ships. Transmissions were hurried towards they Seikham as they requested the bombardment to stop, informing of the large number of friendly fire as they continued their attempts to push the Chaos fleets away. The reinforcements appearing all around the Chaos fleets as means to entrap them in bombardments of ionic and graviton lasers from all sides. Ships reorganised themselves to allow the limited Flow Masters to cover as much of the Commonwealth ships as they could to prevent as much psychic attacks as they could. The sides were even, with no signs of dominance as ships continued to be crushed under gravitons or explode as their hulls were pierced, debris falling into the gravity well of Holy Terra as a majestic glowing natural bombardment.

The appearance of the Emperor of Man held a massive impact on Chaos, the Imperium and the Shaki'lyu. The High Emperor's face quickly grew to a celebratory smile of amazement as his hard work has been proven successful, his arms raised in a god like fashion as he called over the sounds of the Throne Room. "I have done it! I have created life from death!" His voice bold and powerful as he continued his cheers, "We have transcended past the creator Lemascu herself! We are gods!" The words were sent to address the whole room, Weilacca's eyes wide with madness as he changed to address the Emperor of Man himself, "Now, my son, let us destroy those who resist our power!"

Patraeko stood speechless as he stared at the Emperor of Man, his mouth open as a wide smile. The small nod thrown in his direction quickly brought him to the reality of the situation, closing his mouth as he continued the stare of what seemed to be friendship, nodding back before calling his comrades back with him. "We're done here, let's get going." He ordered the group. However, Charlotte seemed to ignore these orders with a glare thrown at the Emperor of Man, her orders were to overwatch the death of the man, not the rebirth. More of the strange food was pulled from her pockets as she was about to stuff as much of it into her mouth as possible, only to have Vladimir grab her arm. A small shake of the head quickly regained the immortal's reasoning, lowering the food down once again before joining Patraeko in a group teleport back to the Seishaw. Escaping the madness just before the rest of the room was pulled into the warp.

The great mood of the group was firmly destroyed as fast as it appeared, falling into the warp as some kind of last resort Chaos held up their sleeve. They were all dragged into the realm of their accursed origin, the Warp. The High Emperor quickly relocated himself beside Daemos, his sword drawn as the scar on his left arm began to leak the pure energy of the Crown. "It looks like things are going to get worse, how about we show them out fight? Like the good old days."

Morganovicz had already noticed the strange energies that flowed in and out of the Emperor of Man, he knew full well that whatever this was, it was dangerous. The Emperor's node was already being affected with such strange power, forcing him to hide behind the human emperor as he channelled his power into the man. Working hard to expel the chaos psychic power in order to protect him. Everything within the Emperor was mad, there was disorder throughout the node which needed to be fixed. And so, he closed his eyes.

Alekassandra had noticed her fiance's actions, a small smile thrown across her face as Trami addressed her for assistance. "Gladly." She growled, glaring towards Magnus as she activated her own power. The density and power of her muscle fibres increasing at an alarming rate, pressing against her armour, forcing it outwards as she gripped her fists. Ready to bring her own assault. "Carn, how about a little tag team?"

The Emperor Of Man groaned in pain as the entire group was pulled into the warp by one of his very sons, Magnus The Red who had been corrupted by Chaos. The pain was horrendous, compared to sitting on the Golden Throne this pain was thousands times worse. He did his best to stand, refusing to give a knee. "Well...If it isn't the traitor to the Imperium...My own son I created with my hands...who is here now thinking he can...beat us all...The age of man if far from...dead...not as long as I live....you fail to realize we are...far from beaten...for one who says he can see more you are still blind...We will never surrender!" The Emperor spoke in a strained voice. He knew they had no chance while they were stuck in this hell, he had to get everyone to safety but he needed a few extra seconds to regain his composure.

Dorn not affected by the warp too much and stood his ground as he stood in front of the Emperor to protect him. "Well looks like the traitor finally shows his face...I hope the Space Wolves did not beat your chapter too hard. Oh wait, you never did like them anyways traitor." He spoke as he drew Storm's Teeth, his chainsword and held it in one hand.

Carn felt the effects of the warp slowly working on his mind, however he did not give in. He was nervous for the first time, in front of him stood one of the Primarchs that fell to chaos. His psychic power was strong, he could feel it but he could not give up. Once he heard Alekassandra say something about a tag team, he raised his force staff and stepped forward prepared to lay down his life for the Emperor.

Meanwhile above Holy Terra, the debree of the ships began to fall upon the planets surface. The once massive, golden and grand structures crumbled once the wreckage hit the buildings. Every Space Marine began to fight with much more vigor and fury, fighting more ferociously once the sight of their own heart was slowly being destroyed. Their faith grew stronger, and their will to fight only grew as the battle raged. Even meager Guardsman began to rally together, fighting through the whispers and carnage to fight.

In Orbit above Holy Terra, the Chaos fleet continued its assault. With the sight of fire burning on Holy Terra they began to fight harder. Unleashing Nova cannon blasts that would detonate near the fleets causing damage, Lance batteries peppered the enemy ships, even vortex missiles was sent by both Chaos and Imperium alike causing a tear in reality to open up and drag anything nearby into the warp.

Power unlike anything seen in the mortal realm surged forward. A sea of blue psychic flame surged forward the second Trami unleashed his pitiful attack. Magnus had let fly enough power to annihilate an entire world without even blinking. It surged and charged towards Trami, Dorn, the Emperor, and anyone else foolish enough to be in the way. This planet-cracking psychic assault was merely the opening salvo of rage.

Dorn just had to do it, he had to. He had to mention the Space wolves. The filthy, brutish bastards that burned Prospero to the ground. That ignorant, pompous, self-obsessed asshole "LEMON RUSS!?" Magnus found himself screaming the name despite not meaning to. No, this fight was meant to do nothing put thwart the Emperor's plans, but now, now. Everyone would die, horribly. He hadn't even heard his father's arrogant commentary, the rage he harbored against the Space Wolves blotted it all out.

He stepped forward, his ethereal shade becoming corporeal as he did so. He could never have a body in the Materium again, but here, in the Warp, he could have anything. Everything. All at once he was the shining image of his old self. Towering as tall as the Emperor at an easy Ten-plus feet, the skin of his arms bulging with the muscles of a Primarch infused with Chaos. He gripped his old chainaxe tightly, the blue flame of Tzneetch swallowing it whole. The Red Daemon Prince walked the Warp now. His very footfalls sundering the ground.

He swung the great axe as if it were made of cardboard, a torrent of psychic flame shooting off in all directions. A smokescreen that could kill, a direct blast would end the life of a Marine like it was nothing, but the true purpose was to blot out the view. All around the Red Giant, Horrors and Flamers and even a few greater daemons began to crawl out of the ground, or drop down from above. Magnus had an army now, and all his powers to bring to bare. Unless a true miracle happened, no one was going to survive.

Urlaraz had fallen back, along with most of the Black Legion the second the stranger unleashed his blast. The GUO had managed to force it's way into their Warp Portal as well, making them all rather uncomfortable. It was clear that in the greater sense the Black Crusade had failed, and the Sorcerer spent a moment pondering what to do as his allies looked to him for guidance. He could not speak for Abbadon, but he knew the Despoiler well enough to figure the great man wouldn't simply give up.

A deep and raspy breath drew in from his helmet, it was a breath of rage and determination though, not defeat. He locked eyes with the nearest Legion commander and said three little words that would alter the fate of man forever.

"We raze Terra."

All across the holy planet tears in the Warp erupted as the entirety of the Black Legion not participating in the orbital battle, as well as the the Word Bearer's, Warbands of the World Eaters, The Emperor's Children, everything. Every Traitor Legion was now present in some capacity, from all men, to a few bands. It was literal hell on Terra as thousand and thousands of Chaos Marines, soldiers, Sorcerers, and cultists poured forth. Along with a host of Daemons the like of which had never been seen outside the Warp.

Great Unclean One's, Changers of Fate, Great Daemons of Khorne all joined in. This was do-or-die for Chaos, and it choose Do.

The destruction was wrought at blinding speed, entire massive cities blinking into rubble and screams. The Emperor might live again, but he'd have no throne to return to. The bulk of these horrific Warp-forces spread out across the planet, happy to spread their damage to Continental scale, but the Black Legion focused on the palace.

Urlaraz hurled great chains of lightning at it, GUO's pressed forward, bands of Khornite Berzerkers under the Black Legion's Banner charged forth, Chainswords and Axes flailing wildly. Chants from every aspect of Chaos filled the air, rising above the devastation. This was the power of the Warp. This was a true Crusade. This was Chaos, Undivided.

Unless something truly earth shattering was done, Holy Terra would be nothing but a memory in the span of a few hours.

Daemos had still been wakened so far, and being pulled into the Warp didn't help at all. The whispers inside his head from the battlefield had roared into shouts. It took all of his strength to stand upright in this place, and keep his anger at bay. So much anger, so much rage. Where had it come from? Why? What purpose did it serve? And perhaps most concerning, why was so much of it directed at the High Emperor? He grit his teeth as Weilacca spoke, raising his hammer and bristling with the need to smite him, but the blue flames came first.

Daemos tapped into his node and unleashed a mighty wave of his own flame, but it barely shielded himself, or Weilacca. He fell to a knee, dropping his hammer as he did so. His right arm covered in burns and unable to grip. He stayed like that for a moment, growling in rage. "Weilacca. I'm going to Synch. Cover me." All pretense of servitude had left his voice. He sounded like nothing more than an angry animal giving a command. He stood as he finished speaking, the Anya inside him swelling. "Stay back."

Trami was faced with an completely unexpected power. It completely nullified his attack allowing Trami to just barely retreat from the scorching flames. But that was wrong, Trami was more or less flung straight trough the air. He would have crashed straight into the ground if it weren't for his unnatural amount of grace wich allowed him to land on his feet directly next to Alekassandra.

His condition seemed fine. There wasn't actually a scratch on him, But anyone observant could notice the strands of sweat covering his forehead. His eyes seemed to aggressively search the enemies. This was bad, Really bad.

In this twisting warp of chaotic energy Trami was unable to construct a connection with Terra. Much to his displeasure. He remained oblivious to the outside battle and instead focused on the situation before him. It was this place, As long as they remained here the battle would be incredibly difficult. The voices gnawed at his outer defence. For a moment he was very grateful that his powers protected him from the persuasive offers surrounding him.

But he realised: What about the other ones that do not posses any defense from attacks such as these? Just as this questions crossed him he heard Daemos words. He was gonna synch!? Trami's body grew cold. This would certainly give them the edge in combat. But his mind! Carn! Protect Morgan and Aleks! Do not allow them to be influenced! the stress was apparent in Trami's words. He then quickly dashed backwards to the Emperor's side, Projecting a force field around both him and Daemos. The field seemed to be the kind wich blocks physical attacks, but in reality it protected those within it from mental ones.

It would be very bad if they started to lose themself to these whispers

The setting changes from the-galactic-bar to Wing City Main Entrance

As the Marines got ready to move out and Guardsman carefully, slowly but purposefully moving forward soon were stopped by the psykers mad rambling. "I!...Feel it!...It's going to explode! Fiery death upon us all!..." The psyker filled with an image soon caused his mind to give out before collapsing dead on the ground. But not before pointing in a direction. Soon the ground shook and the Imperial soldiers soon turned in the direction the psyker aimed at...

From what they saw, a massive explosion was heard. A Super Volcano erupted spewing smoke, lava, and brimstone in the air...with it followed destruction...

The ground had violently shook which was putting it very lightly. Before the Guardsman or even Space Marines could respond to the new figures and event, the Guardsman were flung around like food in a flying pan, they bounced up and down rolling all around now unable to maintain their footing for even a nano-second. "Emperor!...Preserve!...us!" The Guardsman cried out as no matter how they would have tried. They would not even be able to do anything, their weapons had already flown somewhere else. One was flown across the streets impacting a wall as a massive flying chunk of Adamantite slammed into the poor bastard. Chunks soon began raining on Wing City, and it's a wonder when the shields would go on!

The space marines on the other hand fared better, their suits were built for more extreme conditions however even then maintaining their footing on unstable and super shaky land was now going to be a challenge even with their skills. Dorn however seemed more unfazed than before as he stared down the figure in front of him, her balance was off, her sword was raised, she stood in their way actively preventing them from saving this planet.

In this situation, he would show no mercy in removing her from his way. Almost as if he had blinked right in front of her, Fist at the ready he was going to deliver righteous vengeance to make her learn to not get in there way. A fist landed square in her gut, strong enough to easily knock the wind from her lungs and even leave only one shattered bone. She would not fly however, she should have flew away however a roundhouse kick and been planted on her back preventing her from flying away but adding even more damage.

Not done, as she would fly to the ground from the force of the kick. Dorn would full his fist back as far back as he could before launching it forward, fist aimed right square in her face. The fist would connect, causing fragile teeth to shatter from the armoured force of a Primarchs fist, breaking her nose in the process and perhaps a few wheel bones. He was angry but calm, every movement was calculated. He was not simply doing this for fun, he wanted to teach those fighting the Imperium, or even standing in their way would learn the hard way that that would have been the biggest mistake they could make. Father had said to not kill unless needed, this was the sole reason why he had not used his sword to end a life.

As the woman would go flying one last time, he ran right behind her and jumped into the air to deliver one final assault. As she flew into his range he unleashed a flurry of punches at her back as a pace that even a space marine could not keep up with. Perhaps 20 punches had hit her in a span of a few seconds. It was a miracle she would live, but by the will of the Emperor they would keep their word and prevent needless death...however he was close to ending her out of pure hatred for those that dared stop them. He soon landed gracefully on the ground while the woman would fly into the ground full force.

The witch was next...and with that the marines stood back as Dorn charged forward. To hurry to the witch himself as the Guardsman now uselessly floundered around like a fish out of water. Being lucky not to end up crushed. However preparation were nearly complete, City Wide shield generators were soon to be active in just a minute.

A miracle...

A Blessing....

A sort of foolish gesture from some damned deity...

The many Imperials, soldiers and many civilians converted to the Imperial Cult scoffed at the 'deities' proclamation. How dare she even speak a word of what they do, they attack the innocent? Hardly correct, the 'innocent' was the cause of most of this destruction. Another damned deity doing as they damned well please, for the Imperials her 'blessing' was a sign of dishonor and playing god. She revived the many young, however the number of Imperial soldiers lay dead, many above the age of 18. The soldiers were thankfully spared the dishonor of being revived after their faithful duty in the defense of the city. Only the Emperor had the right to do what he wanted with them, no foreign 'deity' could dare touch them.

However, with the many young now alive they accounted the many fathers and mothers that were dead. For such a 'blessing' the 'diety' decided to make many of these children homeless and parentless, another damnable error such a deity overlooked. If a soldier could have shot at a God, they would have shot. However the 'diety' vanished without a trace caring not for their words or retaliation.

As good as this seemed, this was hardly over. "Attention...If anyone is receiving this vox transition then the young have come back to the living. Anyone seeing this as well?"

"Squad 17 here, we are seeing this as well. We lost over 75% of our team here, but we will do our best to escort them before additional shockwaves kills them...again..."

"Damnable false deities, always playing with power like children. They revive the young and dead, leave their fathers and mothers dead who probably shielded them with their lives, Emperor damn it...Squad 12 will get to work here as well."

"Underground sections are secure, nothing minor to account for. Enough supplies to last for a month at least. We will hold out well until rescue arrives...The Emperor protects..."

The Imperial soldiers began to resume communication and those inside still standing bunkers, began to assist in children saving efforts...although they did their best to ignore the many corpses of the hundreds that lay dead just a few feet from safety...This was disheartening, some shed tears unable to control their emotions, however this was drilled into their head...to prevent a disaster like this from happening again. To prevent such sadness from happening to anyone else in the future. To this the Imperium swore it.

Dorn

For the Imperial Fists Primarch, as soon as the blast passed he and his remaining marines stood back up and gathered their items. However before leaving they heard the chatter of Imperial units. The dead coming back alive? And not as undead hell spawn but rather flesh and blood humans to live another life? All caused by an unknown deity...

However instead of ruminating on spewing hundreds of insults like the Imperial Guardsman, his mind focused on one thing...If the dead came back...then the one who started the earthquake and caused much of this disaster was back alive...

"Mighty Space Marines, it seems our work here has not finished yet. You have heard the vox casts and you know that the one who caused all of this lives once again. We make haste to the epicenter of the quake, if she lives then her crimes have still been unanswered." Dorn spoke as he raised Storm's Teeth and ran of, disappearing in a blur. His fellow soldiers running after him with startling speed for heavily armored individuals.

A massive shift in the Force knocked Kinara from her Meditative state. The Presence of Gaia, the Goddess, and he actions, changed the will of the Force. Those people were meant to die, but they lived. Kinara's eyes snapped open, her body drenched in sweat from her concentration on stopping the vortex of energies. However, it seemed that it had subsided enough to no longer be a threat.

The evacuations of those able to walk were still well under way, her dropships bringing the survivors to the hangar of the Silver Eagle, where tents and other amenities were being set up to tend to the wounded. Upon finding a bunker filled with Guardsmen and civilians, Kinara's dropships would broadcast a signal, requesting for any who could walk to be let outside to be evacuated to a safer area. She hoped to the Force that the native defenders of Imperium would listen to her, and cooperate.

She quickly moved to a bathroom and showered herself, rinsing off the sweat accumulated from her meditation and strain, before changing into a fresh set of Jedi Robes, her lightsabers on her hip and small of her back accordingly.

Moving to the Hangar, she surveyed the area, the Force told her that it was going to be alright for now. She smiled, these people had endured so much in the past few years. Invasion after invasion, occupation, attacks, terrorism, disease, and now this....she pitied them, but only to the point of offering what aid she could. She couldn't keep these people on her ship; she lacked the resources to do so for longer than a week at most.

She came to a realization; she needed troops of her own. An army to use for peace-keeping, for helping, for war. It'd be a source of income, as well, as currently she had none. She could delve down into the under worlds and do more sleazy things for cash; she'd done it before during the Jedi Purge, but she'd prefer not to. A mercenary army, however, and fleet, for that matter, could be useful to anyone. Save the Sith, perhaps.

She returned to the bridge, and quickly found the nearest planet with cloning facilities powerful enough for what she had in mind. Ariel was the name of said planet, and quickly she sent a message that Terra was in dire need of help, as a crisis had arisen in the form of a massive Super-volcanic eruption. She also added that she would soon be placing an order for a Legion of Clones to be made; upon being asked if she had a DNA Template, she said that she would upon arrival. Secretly she sent an order to her medical droids to collect DNA samples from strong civilians, though her purpose was benign, merely to see what could be used for cloning. She'd offer her own DNA as well, if needed.

She cleared her throat and patched herself into the Comm-Network of the Imperium of Man. "Imperium, this is Jedi Knight Kinara of the Obsidian Eagle. My transports currently lie in wait outside of your protective bunkers ready to assist in evacuations of civilians and guardsmen alike, I ask that you let free those who can walk first, that they may be transported to safety.

"Also, I thank you for allowing me to place my fleet in such low-orbit over the city in order to assist, I've heard that you are quite protective of this planet and its people, and I feared you may not let my starships close due to their size and bristling weaponry." she paused as the message was played out over the comms leading to the highest ranking officer in the area, which by her guess was Dorn.

"I must stress however, that my ship only has enough resources enough to help the civilians for a week at best, after which I will have to relocate the civilians back under your care, I can send down builder-Droids from my ships to help you construct camps and other essential buildings in order to get things back up and running. I wish you luck, and May the Force be with you."

With that she cut her end of the communication and moved to sit in her Captain's chair, a mobile thing allowing her to slide around the bridge and survey and give orders at her leisure. She smiled, she felt what she was doing was right, and that her old Masters would be smiling on her. She missed them, the Masters of old, but they were one with the Force now, all she could do was carry on their teachings.

Go forth, for the Emperor!

Distant in a boarded up building on main street that seems to stretch forever Dietrich, an Imperial Fist of the Emperor stood checking his modified armor's internal systems. He'd woken up removed from his armor surrounded by the strange abhumans professing their loyalty to the Emperor. No longer divided by an explosion expertly reconstructed like the best Apothecary his legs moved without complaint the dense body of a space marine retethered and rekindled. The creatures did explain what they'd done though it was not of Dietrich's liking. They'd rekindled his body, they said, though he'd failed to be one suitable for true rekindling under the Living Emperor. The Doom Eagle Gunnac Umbercaller, however, was indeed a true rekindled. A doom eagle deprived of death an ironic thing that made him laugh at the hell the enemies of the Imperium would experience for such a thing.

This place was too quiet for his liking though there were other imperial guard here there was another Imperial Guard that had taken a True Rekindling, as the abhumans called it, and it seemed like such a waste to Dietrich. Nevertheless he stood and could feel the ammo count push across his mind as the weapon loaded ammo into itself. Not quite the same as a mind impulse unit, Gunnac explained, but it allowed his weapon's machine spirit to communicate with Dietrich directly.

Dietrich made a feral grin imagining the bloody litanies they would sing to honor the empeor's name. The machine spirit seemed pleased. The force of his predatory will disturbed a imperial Guard as Dietrich looked at them, "We must go. The Emperor and battle calls us forth once more! This day is not yet done; there so much bleeding yet to do."

He stood and walked what felt like downhill through the building that was far too large for its confines. "Gunnac, I trust you will monitor the Abhumans. I must go to the front", Dietrich said in a terse statement to the silver clad Techmarine with ruffling crimson cloak. The sound of shredding paper came from the energetic locus of psychic power as it moved the black robed abhumans about or even the imperial guard.

Gunnac nodded as Dietrich could see the tearing cloak fold out tools to inspect his weapons one last time, "The Jinhai will psychoport you to Dorn. Bring glory to the Emperor's name and Mankind, brother marine."

The world deconstructed into patterns and letters around Dietrich's hidden smile as Jinhai leveraged the Way hub to move Dietrich to the front.

Can't I just die with honor?

Among the hundreds of bodies a small point of light beacons like a firefly seeking something upon which to alight. It moves upward then through the area as a psychoport locus flits to an open area among the bodies. With the sound of tearing paper black humanoid forms known to the guard as Jinhai poured themselves into reality. They'd said multiple times to many guard that they couldn't evacuate humans with such a thing. Yet somehow at the center was a disaffected Imperial guard with repaired armor. Jinhai began inspecting the broken bodies, apothecaries of last resort, for signs of intact thrones of Mankind. As well as other useful pieces of broken civilian charnel with which to rebuild them.

Otto just shivered at the Jinhai moving through bodies heading instead toward his living counterparts. As Otto approached Small eddies of black mist whirl over the ferroplasm autoshotgun in his hands two drums of ammunition tethered to his back. Despite the Heavy look of his weapon it didn't seem to move like something with weight. It jerked toward targets on its own periodically and Otto gave it a light smack.

"You. Stay on focus. By the Emperor, I have to train your part of my head like a fresh guardsman, don't I.", He admonished it. He could feel the machine spirit animating it inside as it lived on using his own mind. A damned thing using an extra piece of his mind inserted by Jinahi to enable the machine spirit but it served obediently. Still, the weapon unleashed one hell of a punishment for being something that ought not to be portable or firable by imperial guard.

Otto sighed the death was done for now and he needed his hands to help. Otto tossed the weapon aside as if discarding it but the bolts bent and the eddies returned in force. The black metal shifted and bent as it collapsed inward to a snake-like form. When it hit ground the head and pincers were visible as well as the muzzle centered on its mouth. The psitech construct slithered beside him with a wide swath.

He found the nearest sergeant or lieutenant to report for duty, "Corporal Otto Hannig reporting for duty, Sir! There's a dozen more reconstructed guard moving this way down main street, Sir!"

If they bothered to check the IFF for his suit, or if they knew him personally, they'd most definitely find that either memory marks Otto as quite deceased.

What new strangeness is this?

As Kinara's medical droids went about the civilian population they'd rapidly discover an odd thing about some of the strong. That some are composed of parts while somehow cleared of immunological antigens nonetheless not the ones they were born with. More so than donor organs sheets of skin or individual sections of bone without apparent surgical evidence. DNA analysis would show the whole of some belonging to dozens of donors. The results of the Jinhai rekindling civilians from the depths of death.

The bloodied fist

Much like Otto that same firefly desperately tried to trail the hustling space marines but couldn't quite propagate at such speed. It elected instead with a hollow bang to pound Dietrich into existence. The yellow fisted shield held high Dietrich doubletimed to catch up with his brothers. Able and willing to fight and more than enthused about doing so.

Aboard the Glaive
Emily continued to coordinate affairs and efforts by the IMPs to excavate and evacuate the city, including the deployment of over three hundred medical personnel.

She also ordered the deployment of Alexander, calling Feidy to pilot and help excavate the larger pieces of rubble to reach any trapped citizens within.

Awaiting the Space Marines.
As he stood amid the dust and broken rubble, positioned between the girl and the approaching soldiers, Ean radioed to the Glaive. "Emily, I need you to prep three bunker teams to drop on my position. And get the shock rod ready for deployment as well."

Emily paused in her own activities, the first time the young woman ever seemed to hesitate in her almost non stop action. "B-but... That's not been tested, it-"

"Might not work and might punch a hole in the planet yeah I know, get it ready. I'm hoping we won't need it but if we do, I want it launched on my command." Ean gave his orders with finality, cutting off the connection and pulling his pistol from it's holster. He also held a small spherical device in his left hand, which he rotated and fidgeted with without cease.

In his own mind he was anxious. He knew what was coming and how it would go, but that still meant he had to go through it. "The waiting is the worst part, damn." He muttered to himself as he watched the dust and waited for the conflict that approached.

Behind him, Tiff just swayed, still too dazed and stunned to do anything.

In his name, we fight

"Targets spotted, enemy in optimum range. Brothers, we shall energetic the enemy in multiple direction. Lord Dorn shall strike through the center, we will provide flanking support. Our targets are the witch and the one who guards her. We strike without mercy brothers! In the name of the Emperor let us finish this!" The marines soon scattered in multiple directions. Bolters armed and ready.

Dorn himself rushed through the dust, his massive armored form now visible and his foot sells thundered across the area like lighting. A hum of a chainsword was mixed in the cacophony of noise coming from the massive Primarch. As soon as he had vision of Ean, Dorn did not hesitate to aim 'The Voice Of Terra' his prized Tacical Bolter at Ean and fired off rocket propelled rounds in his direction. A massive weapon that had recoil to even cause a space marine to flinch slightly, this man used such a thing with one hand, and it was modified to pack a greater punch than a standard bolter. Instead of the normal .75 caliber the gun echoed loudly, almost as if the ammunition was perhaps 1.00 caliber or even higher. He knew that the man in front of him was the enemy, to save a witch that caused this destruction. It was unforgivable.

Back to the living

The commanding officer in charge of the Imperial Guard forces turned to face Otto. "Corporal? Oh yeah, we received reports that the dead have returned. So more men are on the way, great work. We have to get these civilians to safety before anything else happens, we get them to the evacuation Teliporter Homers and we save the life. There are only children and young adults, such a world when a kid lives without his parents...damned Dieties...but enough talk, let's move out!" The Guard commander soon began to motion at a squad escorting a group of children to one of the still standing structures marked with the Imperial Eagle.

"Did you think the act of a mere God would keep you safe from your conscription?"

Four mighty voices rang out within the heads of those previously Taken by the Legion of Shadows, as well as in the air of the Bunkers of the Imperium, meant to keep the people safe, but only trapping them for the slaughter. However, with this massive hit to the Legion, and their efforts also focused somewhere else in another realm, the ship filled with refugees led by Kinara the Jedi would be left untouched.

For now.

A terrifying, gut-wrenching screech rang out in each of the safety-bunkers provided by the Forces Imperium for approximately five seconds the shadows within turned into a sort of sludge, melting from their places and bubbling like magma. Great chunks of this molten Shadow would proceed to fling itself around at the sources of light in the Bunkers until a zone of darkness was available. Once created, if at all, the Legion would pour through. Hounds of all shapes and sizes went first, snarling and screaming as loud as possible, followed by the Bashers, in their now-commonplace Roman-Cohort Armor and weapons, hacking and slashing at any foolish enough to stand too close or oppose them. Each body felled would be dragged into the abyss, alive or not, by tendrils of black mass.

Kinara's eyes closed half way as she sensed the Darkness spreading within the bunkers, however unless they opened their doors, her gunships were of no use, and could not fire upon the Shadows, nor evacuate civilians. She grit her teeth, and her throat tightened, hurting from the decision she was about to make. Reluctantly, she pulled back her gunships and transports to the Obsidian Eagle, letting them land to be refueled by the worker droids waiting for their jobs to be given to them.

However, she also sensed, something else. She couldn't put her finger on it, but something else was about to happen. "Pull the ship up to join the Venators....stay in Geo-Sync orbit, something is coming." She said to her pilot droids.

"Roger Roger." they responded, and with a subtle rocking, the Obsidian Eagle and her four small Tartan Patrol Cruisers lifted themselves from their position a few hundred meters above the earth, and joined her forces in low atmospheric orbit.

Birth of Adeptus Interitus

The thoughts of what he learned in that plane of Genesis weighed heavy on him like chains. He felt it important to clarify for his superiors though he said more than he intended. While his eyes showed someone strong his voice sounded much like one that wasn't sure of the score, "Sir, While they do return able bodied there's an... issue. The Jinhai said I survived some more intensive version, 'True Rekindling'. I report first-hand that I am no longer capable of dying with honor. Or retiring. The first incident while weapons training resulted in a time-gap until manifestation of 92 minutes."

There's that moment when you understand how and when things just went FUBAR and just hope you survive. It lasts a damn long time. When he yelled at his new shotgun in training and it turned to look at him at attention he could see every bolt shifting as it curved backward to point the barrel at him. The pain when the hammer struck only lasted a split second as the round pounded his head and helmet apart. Then 92 minutes later, determined later according to his uninterrupted wrist clock, he smashed helmet-first into the center of the floor. He hadn't expected to be around let alone barely conscious when Myrkul's Vein manifested his essence back into a painful new reality. He made an oath right then and there to never use his last round. The special punishment of having to let his brothers fight on while he waited to starve to death trapped in the blackness under rubble came to the forefront of his mind.

Will of four dozen

Jinhai were the first to notice the aching flux in proximity to the raw Way core gate. The raucous activity of the shadow injecting itself into reality led to an inescapable conclusion from what they'd already experienced. Each turns from the duties of searching flesh to bolt toward each other full-run. On impact the noises came of wet-silt craters in the growing orb of black dust. A psychic beacon proclaimed alarm with an impression of the broken surface around them to all that could hear it, "UMBRALKIND. The bunker is tainted."

Then limbs began to pour outward as Jinhai divided into four bodies the size of space marines a burning constellation of a dozen grey eyes each to them. Defining volume of that shout however blasts Otto from stable footing while remaining at attention so close to the beacon. Two came forward toward him to pick up a combative true rekindled to his feet. Otto fobbed them off as a snake-like weapon crawled into his hands from the ground, "I'm fine! By the Emperor, There's those shadow things inside?"

The two Jinhai nodded and one spoke, "Two will advance. Two will hold the gate."

Metal in the air

Feidy could finally land without sinking up to his knees in moving tarmac as such was already waiting for the go ahead to launch. Then the Captain called him down to move rubble. There was something that blasted across the psychic ECM systems as he'd turned them up quite a bit to focus and didn't catch the signal in time. Hmm. He hunkered down, adjusted the consoles one last time so his own psychic powers could hear anything and pressed the launch button. Centered near Ean's location the Mech launched from the bottom of Ean's ship with retro-thrusters ablaze to slow his descent. Feidlimid landed the titanic mech Alexander with only a soft bump if scorching pavement. The ring of swords and the pull of chains at his armor pushed at his precognition as Feidy turned to where Alexander's sensors said there were targets.

"Boss, don't those guys guard the city? Everything is so very unclean. What have you been up to down here?", said Feidy's voice over comms in his normally childlike high-pitched voice. Despite the threats fidey, the obsessively clean sort, couldn't help the urge to start sweeping debris in spite of the threats.

Unwilling Combatant

Ean turned and tossed the sphere he had in his left hand straight at the ground the moment the Marines had showed up. He had been hoping to talk to them and maybe stall for time, but that plan went right out the window.

When the sphere impacted the ground, it clicked and expanded to the size of a bus in the span of a second, enveloping Ean and Tiff in a barrier of swirling electrical energy. It lasted just long enough for Alexander to land in the location.

Ean turned and called out to Feidy "Give us some cover big guy, been a bit of a misunderstanding. I'll explain later!"

Battalion Launch

From the belly of the Cobalt Glaive, two cover plates opened and revealed a trio of extending towers. From each of these came a low buzz, followed by a loud thump, as they launched three house sized pods that streaked towards the ground, a holographic field surrounding them.

Each of these three pods would impact the ground, about fifteen feet apart, with Ean and Tiff at the center of their landing space. The moment they landed, each pod began to shift and reconfigure into a bunker, really nothing more than a metal box with waist high walls about thirty feet from wall to wall. In the middle of each unfolding bunker was a column of metal, normally adorned with communications equipment, supplies, spare weapons and ammo, the works. These however had been stripped of all that, to be replaced with extra sockets for soldiers to strap into. Normally each bunker could only seat four imps, these had been retrofitted to seat six, though it was tight and uncomfortable. Nevertheless it worked, as eighteen soldiers leaped towards the bunker walls and opened suppressing fire on the approaching marines, their charge rifles set to a slightly higher setting than normal, these were space marines after all.

For about twenty or twenty two seconds after landing, the bunkers were little more than fancy implanted cover positions, until the column in the center of each of them fully charged up, and produced a phase emission barrier around itself. At that point, the barrier grapped solid projectiles that came near it and swung them into an orbit near it's highest point, amassing a collection of ammunition for a later purpose. The imps used energy weapons, and firing them out of the phase emission barrier pulled a small amount of energy from the barrier to follow the shot, giving each "bullet" fired by the imps more impact, like upgrading from automatic rifles to .50 cal machine guns that fired armor melting plasma.

Thankfully firing into the barrier didn't produce the same effect, energy weapons coming into the barrier were dispersed across it's surface with a rather colorful display of electrical arcing.

It was the imps go to tactic for defense and delaying. The barriers gave them about a minute of combat advantage where they could fire on enemies with impunity, usually long enough for a pod storm to come down behind them and reinforce. In this case, Ean didn't intend to reinforce, but retreat. "Emily! Launch the Rod now! On my position.

The girl didn't respond over the comms, but a loud cracking sound came from above as the rod was fired from a launch bay. It impaled the ground in the midst of the three bunkers, looking like a totem pole but with loose wiring and exposed circuitry instead of animal faces. No sooner had it landed than it began humming and charging up, though for what was yet to be seen.

Ean took that moment to call out to a nearby imp, who tossed him one of the spare charge rifles. The bunkers would provide them plenty of cover, but he knew that the leader of those marines would be there to face him soon enough.

"Come on then you thick headed brute of a bastard, come and try me!" He muttered to himself.

"Hostile reinforcments! Enemy forces have provided adequate cover and are opening fire on Lord Dorn! Plasma weaponry, do not get caught out brothers." A Tactical marine voxed to the other marines as they kept to cover to get around the sides.

One of the Tacticals un-shouldered a Helios Pattern Rocket launcher and aimed at the ship in the air. "Target locked, Emperor guide my missile through. Let it strike true..." He recited a prayer of aim as he came around one of the building and aimed at the aircraft.

For Rogal Dorn himself, as the plasma bullets sailed his way, he slammed a foot into the ground sending a massive chuck of stone from the eart hto give him cover, however while taking fire she shot back and noticed the strange barrier trapping the bolt round. "The barrier seems to be trapping our rounds, but it seems that energy weaponry can pass through safely...we cant get close enough unless...Imperial command come in. Fire an earthshaker rounds at coordinates 191.24.N and 66.431.N..." Dorn voxed as he remained behind his makeshift cover as it was being slowly torn apart.

"Affirmitive my Lord...Basilisk artillery coordinates plotted and underway. Stay clear my Lord." A voice replied. Miles away from the battlefield two Basilisk field guns emerged from sturdy Imperial Guard depots and aimed two different rounds a few yards away from the barrier as to not hit it directly. If they could not damage the structures directly, then causing the ground under the defenses to collapse. "Earthshaker rounds loaded in...Praise be unto the Emperor...May he guide our strike true...Let our weapons bellow his faith and destroy his enemies...Fire!" After the Guardsman finished their prayers, the gun fired shaking the ground. And sending two rounds directed at the battle in the front.

Inside one of the bunkers, as the Shadow Legion advanced. A certain Space Marine Librarian had appeared using the Gate Of Infinity and spew fourth a wave of psychic lightning which seemed to be much improved. "Horrid abominations...you should all die just because of how ugly you filth are..." The man as Carnaelgaar muttered. Making sure to keep his gifts secret.

The Earthshakker rounds shattered the earth beneath the bunkers, which was unfortunate because they were anchored into that earth. Without anything to anchor to, the vibrations caused the bunkers to shift and toss, sending the troops in them over the sides and into the dirt.
This also had the unfortuate effect of shorting out the generator powering the shields, which then proceeded to launch all the projectiles they had collected in an outward burst at about three hundred feet per second. If you weren't behind cover, you were shredded, armor or no.

But the biggest event in the short time before the rod could complete it's charge, was the missile heading to the cobalt Glaive. Captain Ean Falcor lost his patience at that point. "Oh HELL NO!" He shouted, glaring at the missile, which then proceeded to freeze in mid air, before exploding. Even the explosion was contained, creating a beautifully destructive bubble of fire and shrapnel which burned itself out in the air.

"I'm absolutely done with this." He said, turning his glare on the soldiers assaulting his men. A sudden and excrutiating pain, like that of nails on a chalkboard in their minds, would fill every part of every soldier of the imperium. Their commander got a different treatment however. For him it would feel as though the ground had dropped away, and when he looked up, it would be as though the stars had reshaped themselves into a giant humanoid form, which then proceeded to slam it's palms together, with Rogal Dorn in between them.

Ean smirked at that moment as the Rod finished charging. He wrapped himself over Tiffany, then called out to his troops. In a single, synchronized and explosive movement they dove towards the rod, and away from the imperial soldiers.

A moment later, and an explosion of sound and light occured, like that of a lightningbolt, only slightly quieter. Where once Ean and Tiffany and all the IMP's stood, there was now only burned and scorched patches of earth and stone, and a smell like burning hair and skin.

Aboard the Glaive

Ean stood, then grimaced and cried out in pain as the nerves in his body kicked in and started protesting about the burned patches of exposed skin all over his body. Thankfully Medics were on site to receive him and his charge. "Emily... you really do think of everything." The Captain said, insisting that the Medics take Tiffany to the infirmary before himself. He had one more thing to do before he could take a nap.

A conversation.

The Imperium commander on the ground would be recieving a comm signal at that time, and should he choose to accept it, these were the words he would hear. "Very close boys, very close. Almost had us, Unfortunately for you though Almost doesn't count except in horse shoes and hand grenades." Ean's voice, jovial in spite of his pain, grated through the earpiece. "Do yourselves a favor and don't take this too personal, alright? It's not the first time I've given you guys the slip, and it certainly won't be the last. Also... Do me a favor and tell your leader, the uh... god emperor, i guess, That he oughta be a bit more gentle with the people he rules over. I mean yeah sure, Duty to your country and all that is nice but... well... to be blunt, punishing a victim who tried to save others at the cost of their own life... Not exactly a great PR act. The girl you guys were so intent on killing was the victim here.. if you need more proof, look up Elysium, and the guy who made it. That should put you in the right track."

"Until next time, and uh, by the way... Heh.. Your Aim Sucks."

Most if not all the marines had hid behind a piece of cover as generator launched its projectiles around. They were not foolish enough to stand outside of cover for any long amount of time.

However soon the Space Marines fell to their hands and knees caused by a horrid feeling. "Psychic...witchcraft..." One marine muttered as they did their best to hold on. Their entire being was in pain, but as the Imperial Fist space marines, they endured excruciating pain daily.

For Royal Dorn However, he felt as if he was falling. As he did she stared down a humanoid being made of stars. He was not scared, not even slightly. He had endured the horrid depths of the warp, he had seen horrors beyond horrors. He remained with a calm expression as the being slammed its palms together.

In the next moment he was back in reality, along with a parting message. He did not need to reply, nor did he felt anything from his words. Let him vent out his insults, it did not matter to him in the least.

The massive marine soon stood up as Imperial Guard reinforcements arrived on sight. "The situation is now over, the enemy has retreated. Begin repairs on the entire area, including the gate that fell." Dorn ordered and the Guardsman went right to work.

Another day, another mess that needed to be fixed. "My Lord, I have news that Commisar Ciaphas Cain has found the man responsible for the drug that plagued the city...however he has vanished...Emperor watch over him while he is in danger, but I wanted to let you my lord to know." A Guardsman gave the news to Dorn while down on one knee. With a quick nod the Guardsman stood up, saluted and went to go fix the city.

With his job done, it was time to return to base.

Curse of Aetherkind

Aboard the Glaive the two Jinhai remain on the bridge while Plinth was in extended surgery. They could not assist. Here they served quietly reading the almanac and listening to the thoughts of Myrkul's Vein regarding the situations of its sub-beings. The combat between mankind was not their own without permission of the Emperor. They nonetheless observed for the needs of an impartial record for the Emperor of Mankind. One spoke up in their emotionally pale voices of whirling dust.

It spoke to Ean as he terminated communications, "The Living Emperor has stated dissatisfaction with the beliefs and behaviors of His subjects. It is the assertion of Myrkul's Vein that your status remains as neutral regardless of combat. The new instance of Humankind created by the Aetherkind has no actions of importance ascribed to it and remains neutral beyond considerations of the tainted. Do you need reconstitution, Humankind Ean?"

Once more into the Pyre

Of the first to storm his way into that bunker the bright flash and thunder was heard from Otto's living weapon against the shadow creatures. Witchfire-charged slug rounds of Gunnac's make they seared whatever was not human and by the Emperor's will be they purged. The weapon was a heavy-bladed thing responsive to Otto's wrath at the shadow creatures attacking civilians here. They attacked as a singular being but unfamiliar with his machine spirit's xenothirst Otto was unable to hold back his advance with the rest of the Imperial Guard.

When the librarian appeared somewhere down a blood-soaked hallway Otto was the first guard to burn. The lightning seared his flesh and armor away but his mind would not fall. The force broke his limbs and the mind would still not lay down to die. For a long minute Otto's mind was just pain and blackness. The crinkle of metal signaled his weapon reconstructing just as Otto's will returned to force out the pain. A smoking, seared corpse hauled itself to its feet with a stub for an arm. The throne of mankind still burned hot as a True rekindled slowly extended fresh flesh and even scraps of his armor under every piece of ash.

The voice was ragged and harsh, "Otto Hannig, Imperial Guard. I can't see you, right now, but you librarians never did care about friendly fire. I understand the imperial fists more now I think. Every time it hurts I care a little less."

The bones grew bright red leg muscles pouring out more blood than he ought to still have. Otto realized something while his brain operated under a conflagration of pain. Seems he couldn't go unconscious by the pain though he sorely wanted to. Everything hurt. Every nerve was on fire and what didn't hurt was numb.

A eye reconstituted in its blown-out socket to look at Carnaelgaar then he screamed out the pain from a livened sense with a bloodied cry. Otto then writhed in pain while supported by a scorched wall, "Sorry. I'm trying to care a lot less right now. Forgive me if I talk to keep the pain at bay. 'Cause seems Myrkul and the Emperor won't let it push me under anymore. Lucky me."

Otto turned to stumble his way out of the cleansed bunker with a single good eye and the gleaming psi-tech shotgun slithering at his side.

All knowledge to the Primarch

Dietrich pulled a gleaming ferroplasm bolter clip from his pack among four there. A faint white light emerged from the socket as the manifestation plant began manufacturing a replacement. Approaching his primarch Dietrich held up the clip that slowly moved bolter rounds into view as if they were loaded from the bottom.

Dietrich saluted, "I have returned from rekindling with new resources, Primarch. The Jinhai have repaired my armor with their own technology until a Techmarine of the Doom Eagles constructs a forge for the Imperium. I can manufacture ammo and deliver it to nearby brothers. Directly to their clip. Tech-priests may educate the machine spirit for ammo required of it."

The response against the presence of the Legion was swift, as was the reaction of the Legion itself. Shifting its focus to purely harvesting, by the time their enemy was able to bring in their more powerful weapons, the Legion paused as droves of its forces were depleted by the shots. Soon, a screech rang out across the bunker they inhabited, and the Legion sank into the floor, vanishing into the shadows of those they'd slain, taking the bodies with them.

They would find other means to replenish their numbers.

Imperial Datalog #9808270071

Warp Space: En route to designated meeting point as determined by all existing parties.

On the bridge of The Soul Of Terra, an Emperor class battleship. In Warp Space transit protected by the Ships Gellar Fields to prevent the taint of the warp and demons from assaulting thier ship. The Emperor himself cladded in his golden armor stared off through the window of the ship as he was thinking to himself. Today they were meeting with the Mauhasinian Empire to finally make an actual peace treaty instead of thier ceasefire.

He has already seen the unrest among the members of the Imperial Guard and among the Space Marines, Especially the Black Templar’s. The ones who were engaged in combat with the Mauhasinian fleet they met with. Thankfully due to quick thinking by both sides they ordered a ceasefire and the Emperor himself ordered his forces back after they had suffered damage across the fleet. After this incident both sides were boiling over.

It was obviously a manner of time before one side fired at the other since this was but a ceasefire, and they would be dragged into a war that both sides would have to no doubt see to the end. So The Emperor was looking to put this aside and to make peace with the Empress of the Mauhasinian Empire. Which of course he would hope she would accept. This would not be easy however, there was bad blood between the two so simply just asking for peace was not going to be an easy road.

Of course, there was a slight change in plans. The Aschen and thier allies the Continuum have decided to participate in these talks, possibly even a joint peace treaty between the four powers. Since they were all meeting in Neutral Territory everyone was no doubt coming prepared for any worst case scenario. He was no different. With him he had his Sons, Rogal Dorn and Roboute Guilliman. Both his sons were soldiers first, they did not let emotion get in their way. Rogal Dorn did not lie and he was a brilliant mind like his brother. Both of them would assist him in terms and conditions, adding counter arguments and in the worst case scenario help him in combat.

Along with his sons, his person honor guard. The Adeptus Custodies. The Shield Company he brought with him was The Aquilian Shield. They were dedicated to escorting and protecting specific individuals in the Imperium and what better task for them than being their escorts and bodyguards during the meeting. Off course most of them would remain in the battleship as he did not wish to bring too much with him to the planets surface.

Today was a very important day, a day where they would not use sword or Bolter, neither force or threats of death. They would be using the power of their words this day to reach a mutual agreement to bring this Cold War to an end before it truly becomes an actual war.

With these thoughts in mind, they soon began to exit the warp and began to enter into real space once again, the screams of demons began to fade as the stars once again came into view. The vast emptiness of space was now around them save for the object in front of them. The planet of Palisia, a planet no one owns, devoid of life on it. A place as where this grand meeting would take place. “My Lord, Auspex scanners are reading no other vessel in orbit at the moment. We have arrived at our desination.” The Ship Commander reported to the Emperor who gave a nod of approval before turning around to leave the bridge as he and his sons began to head to the hanger.

The battleship would kill engines and remained stationary near the planet to await the others who were to come.

The Gigashadow - The Emperor's Flagship
Gaia System

"Jump Completed, My Lord..."

Space seemed to warp, and bend high above the planet Palisia, a sudden surge of spatial energies that registered off the charts immediately followed. Then a brilliant, multicolored flash of light dazzled the skies above the planet, streaking brilliantly across the blackdrop of space, culminating unto a vortex that spanned hundreds of kilometers. The vortex fluctuated, rippled, and then spat fourth what had to be described as a mothership of some kind.

It sat at just under one hundred kilometers in length, sharp, and angular in shape, and painted a dark sheen of iridescent blue-purple, conceivably one of the largest Aschen ships ever built. It bristled with weapon emplacements that sat idle within their armored recessed hard-points. The massive Aschen vessel pinged on the IFF scanners as the Gigashadow, the successor to the Imperial Flagship 'Foreshadow'

Immediately following it's jump, six massive engines ignited in it's rear section, thrumming with a brilliant blue-purple glow as the ship began to set course towards the planet. But it wasn't alone, as more Aschen ships winked in beside it, the Command Carrier Sajuuk-Khar winked in first, followed by the Reverence II 'Rapid Conversion'

Roughly a dozen Aschen cruisers jumped in next, Hastatis, Athenas, and Gemenon class ships, all in formation around the Gigashadow. Of course, compared to the massive imperial flagship, these Aschen capital ships were mere specks compared to the Gigashadow. Except for the Command Carriers, and the Reverence IIs, the other Aschen cruisers that were winking in one-by one seemed tiny in comparison.

The mighty Isambard Prince, Emperor of the Aschen Empire stood quietly aboard the Observation Bridge of the Gigashadow, flickers of light filling the observation bridge as one Aschen capital ship after another winked in. Prince briefly averted his eyes upwards, spotting the Command Carrier 'Keeper of Abbasid' as it flickered into view, roughly five hundred kilometers away. Close enough that Prince could make out the subtle details on the warship, until roughly a dozen Iconoclast, and Punisher class Battleships caught his attention.

For a moment, Isambard directed his attention to the hologram of the planet in front of him. EVE had counted roughly one thousand six hundred seventy two Aschen warships had completed their jumps and assumed formation with the Gigashadow, his attention moved to the larger Galactic map, which bore six fleets five thousand vessels strong scattered throughout the galaxy, ready to jump to their aid at a moment's notice.

Silently the Emperor clasped his hands behind his back, his great coat fluttering in the breeze from the ship's ventilation system. It was a black ensamble, with two silver collar pips, and two silver epaulettes bearing the crest of the Emperor, accented by a single lapel pin, the red IMPSOC Symbol.

"Admiral Clegg, take us into position, and have the fleet move into rest formation." Isambard instructed, prompting a swift response from the Admiral, whom offered a nod, and moved to the hologram, manipulating it with his hands to disseminate their commands through the Aschen's Point-and-click battle interface.

In sync, the Aschen ships moved into a somewhat scattered frigate line formation, allowing the Command Carriers to better protect the Gigashadow, and allow them overlapping firing solutions with their Frag Cannons should the need arise.

Deep in thought, Prince was slightly perturbed that the other parties didn't seem agreeable to the Aschen Empire hosting the talks, which meant that they had the burden of keeping security for their Emperor, the military mobilization for this summit took months, with billions of personnel briefing, training, and preparing for this very moment. It pleased the Emperor briefly, the sheer projection that the Aschen Empire was bringing fourth, a sight seldom seen outside of the Empire itself. He wondered for the moment how it would be received.

The Aliens would know their place.

Grand Confessor Kesslee was at Prince's side as well, a file folder clasped in his hand. They had briefed for weeks prior to this moment, but Prince knew that to advance Aschen interests without being hamstrung by AXIS Politics, was to win culturally, and economically.

"These Aliens offer us nothing." Prince commented, promoting an agreeable nod from Kesslee. "I have full confidence in the negotiation of an amicable treaty, my lord." The Grand Confessor replied.

"Shall we prepare the Bifrost?" Kesslee added, turning to face the Emperor.

Prince nodded quietly, and Kesslee slowly turned to leave.

Quietly, he turned back to face the hologram before him. The Planet offered little more than an inconvenience, an inconvenience that Prince would have to address.

"Admiral, prepare a prefabricated base, and deploy it to these coordinates..." Prince instructed once more, highlighting a continent on the planet.
