A teenage Ronin out to make a name for himself.
Roth is hotheaded, young and rash. He's ready to take on the world and doesn't have the slightest clue on how to do it. He is friendly, laid-back, outgoing and often flirtatious. While he enjoys a good conversation and the company of a friend, he refrains from becoming too close to any one person. He is a Ronin, a wandering, master-less Samurai.
While not a peacekeeper, and certainly not a hero, Roth maintains a decent sense of right and wrong. His code of Bushido demands he uphold his honor, and as a result he'll do what good he can if the opportunity presents himself. Aside from that, Roth usually minds his own business, and certainly won't go out of his way to do a good deed.
A side rarely seen, Roth is fully capable of displaying great rage, anger, fury and sadness. It takes a considerable amount of emotional assault to bring Roth to such terms, and hasn't been done for a long while.
Roth is only human. He has no special powers or supernatural abilities. He has trained all his life in the art of Araki Mujinsai Ryu, in it's modified sister version, Araki Jinketsu Ryu, and in various forms of martial arts, particularly the Korean art of Kuk Sool Won, and the Israeli self-defense system of Krav Maga. He's also been raised to wield a pistol with both hands, and is a decent shot. While skilled with a gun or without a weapon at all, Roth is still most powerful with his katana in his hands, his speed and power unmatched by many prominent artists of his time.
His katana is modified and hand-made specifically to his grip. In accordance to Araki Jinketsu Ryu, it's forged of one of the strongest metals in the universe: Impervium, as opposed to traditional steel. It's carefully tucked into his black silk belt around his jeans, acting as an Obi to keep his Saya from falling, whether he walk, sprint, crawl, or even swim.
As a baby, Roth was abandoned and found by an aged Japanese immigrant: “Miggy” Ushiro. One of the last direct descendents of the famed Samurai, Araki Mujinsai, Miggy raised and trained the boy as his own. Miggy was the only father Roth ever had, and the only person Roth has ever truly loved. Having been raised in Japan, and (as a direct descendant of the Araki family) taught the sacred and most secret forms of Araki Ryu, Miggy passed the knowledge down to Roth, training him from infant to teen without ceasing. Miggy also taught Roth his own Ryu, based off of Araki Ryu, “Araki Jinketsu Ryu”, designed for combat in the modern day and age. It involved more use of speed and versatility (for opponents with firearms), watching the opponents eyes to see in what direction they’ll shoot their gun, anticipating their attacks and movements, and using whatever object once could get a hold of to defend oneself with. It also involved forging blades of much stronger material then steel: impervium.
For all his fatherly love and training, Miggy was an alcoholic. His frequent drunkenness got him trouble one day with a local mob, and he was shot dead on his way home. Without a father, without a home, without a master, Roth became a Ronin. He wanders Wing City, not really sure what he's after. A good fight? A strong friend? A deep love? Roth doesn't know, but he's sure as hell ready to find out.
