History

Personal Background

Ever since birth she had been raised in a church in some village hidden away in some valley called Dwyn. People knew of her existence there, but the peoples of the church kept her in solitude and only let her outdoors during the hours of nightfall. They feared that her beauty would captivate someone and cause for them to hurt her, or that her dark gift might be discovered. For years it was like this in seclusion, until one day Rowan had ventured outside during a funeral that was in procession in the graveyard next door. The person being buried was a young boy no older than the age of seven. He had recently been attacked by wolves and had been mauled pretty badly. With the casket closed and never seeing a funeral before, the curious Rowan ventured towards those of the village that were there.

Unsuspecting of what fate had planned for her at the time, she barely made it up to the wooden coffin when she had an outburst of sheer power. Falling into unconsciousness, Rowan didn't remember what she had done by simple accident. But everyone else around her did. Apparently the boy had been brought back to life and attacked some of the villagers and had to be killed again. Not a sight for a grieving family to see. Charged with the crime of using dark arts, Rowan was later arrested. Those of the church didn't lift a finger to help her one bit as she was dragged away in shackles, crying like a child and reaching out to them for all she knew was that she was innocent.

Spending a night in the dungeons of the village, there she was tortured until dawn. The only so called peace she was allowed to have would be three hours worth of rest into the next morning. What she woke up to was her clothes removed and a man on top of her while one other held her arms down. It continued like this for hours. It felt like years to her and never seem to end.

When it did though, disappointment only came as one more guardsman would be in line to rape this innocent beauty who still was ignorant of the crime she supposedly committed. Endlessly, these men raped her, beat up upon her until she was cowering in the fetal position when they were through. For about an hour or so she lie, trembling, sobbing. She didn't know what she was guilty of and what exactly did to her body, but all she knew was that she was in a lot of pain and scared. Unable to sleep, Rowan continued to lie there until another hour had passed. That would be when a guard came in with food. This guard was one of the many who took a turn riding her body.

Alas snapping into a fit of rage, Rowan had lost control of herself as her blossoming gift took over once more and made her end the lives of the guardsmen who worked the dungeon and gained her access to her escape. After stealing a robe to wear for clothing since the outfit she wore had been taken, Rowan, still under her outburst's spell, managed to make deep into the woods on which she would later faint. Waking up hours later, the young woman found herself lying under a tree with nothing but woods surrounding her. Having no idea on what had just happened, all she did was proceed forth into the unknown, not wanting to turn back or find out what just might be pursuing her.

So begins...

Character Portrait: Rowan Siofra Rowan Siofra says,
From behind her Lord, Mortem’s behemoth gait she followed, her form barely noticeable as she trailed behind him, lingering like a shadow. Remaining silent, she glanced around with beautiful cerulean optics widened in curiosity. Never in her life had she ever lain eyes upon this place, let alone enter it. But now she was here, behind her master, her lord, following his every move as he navigated forth so quickly. Barely able to keep up to his swift, masculine strides, Rowan somehow managed too without reaching the feat of exhaustion. -c-

From behind her tall, frail form, ebony strands of hair flowed, acting almost like a cape more than silken rear length hair. Rowan seemed to be lost in her own little world as she gazed at those she had never seen before, thus taking note of their appearances and what they were like. She was always the conservative type. Quiet and well composed, but also a great listener. Both were great things to possess while at the same time looking so beautiful and so innocent. Almost not hearing him when he made his comment about the peoples who occupied the establishment, Rowan found herself nodding in agreement before her mind reflected on such cold words. “Yes,’ she agreed at first, casting a glance up at the back of Mortem’s head whilst she spoke, still following his every movement like that of a loyal dog. -c-

However, she paused for a moment, allowing for him to take a seat at the table he chose while remaining at his side. Falling silent her gaze shifted, now in a new perception she could see all who were in the bar. She had to admit, there was a lot of people tonight. Slowly a smile curved her lips as she now glanced down at the huge, robust, shadowy faced man before extending a hand to touch his shoulder. It had been a while since she smiled last. This must’ve been a sign. A great sign indeed. -c-

Now, her voice would be soft as she spoke to her lord, almost soothing in a sense as her hand grasped his shoulder a little. Inside she was hoping that he wouldn’t mind her touching him. To be honest she yearned to touch him and his flesh, to feel him upon her finger tips. But that would have to be saved for another time. Now was the time to finish her reply, and she would do so by alas letting the smile fade.
“But is it worth killing them all?” -e-

Rowan Siofra listened quietly as her lord and master spoke with words so cold that they would make one ignorant to such evil and hate, most likely quiver in fear. However, she did not fear this intimidating being, this creature of shadows and darkness. In fact she viewed him as someone as average as herself, but not quite. Slowly she lowered her hand from his shoulder and shook her head to his words. “Such morbid anger and hatred you have in your voice, Mortem…’ She murmured softly as she would glance away from him for a moment. “It sounds disturbing to some, but to me it’s an everyday thing.” -c-

Rowan would add, her voice growing lower as she glanced over at the massively tall being through the corners of her eyes. Slowly she turned to him and placed her hands on his shoulders. “Don’t fight me.” She seemed to command to her own master as she leaned forth, crawling onto his lap so she somewhat sat upon it. As she did this she wound up pushing the table back some while placing her right hand over the Lord’s chest, over his left armored pectoral as to where his heart should be located beneath. -c-

Lifting her head whilst still staring up at him, Rowan tried to meet his shadowed gaze from beneath of the hood to his garb. Using her left hand she inserted it into the cloak and gently ran her fingertips over the flesh that lurked beneath. What seemed to be a desireable smile marked the quiet one’s lips as she would then incline her head up in a slow gesture. Ducking her face up inside of the hood, she would try and keep her eyes locked on his as the lids to her own would flutter. It wouldn’t take long until her lips brushed against his, but it would take a moment or two until she pressed hers’ against his in order to gently kiss him. -e-

She didn’t expect the man to react as she kissed him one to three times before pulling back some. A smile now curved her lips as she placed them on his chin before rubbing her face in his jugular. The feeling of his hands made her feel secure and allowed for her to know he acknowledged her gesture. Lowering her hand from within his hood Rowan drug it down onto his right shoulder. For a moment she lingered like this, breathing softly against his throat. That was until she yearned to kiss him again. In order to do so she lifted her head slowly meeting his leering gaze somewhat from beneath of the hood to his cloak.
She always thought he had beautiful eyes, especially when they appeared to be so intense, making Mortem seem as if he were on guard while Rowan advanced on him in a slow, soothing pace. Whispering his name she would stare up at him for a second more before cocking her head to the side in order to claim his lips once more but in a slightly deeper kiss this time of round.

Once she had kissed him once again, Rowan would do an odd thing and lick his lips. She tried to make the gesture gentle that was until she heard him speak. “If just seeing them upset you, then why do you look at them? Why are you here?” Came her curious inquiry as she pulled back slightly, trying to meet those cold eyes that leered forth at the world, unmoving while everything about him revealed so much anger and hate. And to think she was doing this to calm him, to give to him what another simply could not. But she herself felt that something was missing.
However, now wasn’t the time for selfish thoughts. Before Mortem could reply to such words, Rowan would slowly begin to back off of his gait by going to lift herself from his lap. As she done this, she simply wanted to test her lord’s reactions while trying not to cause a scene within such a place.

Curious of such foreign behavior, Rowan cocked her head to the side. Blinking a couple times, she gazed down at Mortem for a moment before glancing elsewhere. “So you’re interested in these people?” She asked rhetorically as she slowly edged her way out before his seated gait. In what seemed to be a swift movement she came to stand behind the Dark Lord before placing both of her hands on his right shoulder. Giving it a tight squeeze, she waited until he relaxed so she could release her grip. It would seem as if she were trying to massage his shoulder, having to use both hands since he was so big and his shoulders so broad and masculine.

The unconscious body of the woman clad in nothing else but a black robe would be found in the soft, moist grass of a clearing. On her side she slept, her chest and stomach lightly heaving up and down every time she inhaled and exhaled soft, inaudible breaths. The atmosphere was cold tonight; one like her would most likely freeze to death before sunrise. But this woman appeared to be alright as dark, ebony strands of waist length hair fell around her body, veiling her face on a side and above view. So vulnerable like this without any weaponry or source of protection, the woman was bound to be endangered, or so the stereotype seemed to proclaim for a woman dressed in clothing that didn’t fit and were alone, not to mention so fair as well. -c-

It would seem that the ruins that surrounded this place so sparingly would make formidable sense of protection. But no one could trust the ruins these days for something dark, mysterious, and possibly evil lurked within their crumpled walls. Now stretching her arm out slightly, the woman would grasp a couple blades of grass. For a moment her body would tense, a shudder of a breath exhaling from between her agape lips. It seemed that she knew or possibly sensed what magic were being performed nearby, for about a moment or two after she had done this small act, she would suddenly jerk up. -c-

Awakened now, her cerulean eyes blinked opened, widened in what appeared to be shock as a gasp reverberated from deep within her throat. Now her breathing was ragged, making it seem that she was panting as she glanced from side to side before running a hand through her hair, sleeking it back so that the perfectly straight strands would not fall into her, pale, fair face. On the other hand, the looseness of the robe she wore would become evident for the garb almost fell open on her slender, underweight frame. The feebly tied sash would prove to be not the only cause for this as well. -e-

While her master fought off these red clad men with his superb skills and might, Rowan stood by a table and watched with cerulean eyes widened. She looked rather innocent as she stood there as her dark hair cascaded over her shoulders and fell to her waist in silken wisps. Dressed in a loosely fitted robe that matched the color of her ebony hair, Rowan looked vulnerable as well as innocent, with her feet bare on the wooden floor, her delicate hand resting on the back of the chair she stood beside. Her paleness and frailty contrasted her dark attire and grim ways, that it was almost unbelievable as she seemed to be excited as she watched her dark lord slay the last of his attackers. When he slain the man, Rowan would be quick to speak even before Morgoth could turn and look upon her fair face. -c-

She slowly staggered forth into the abyss of darkness and continued her way into the wood, almost running through the trees, uncaring whether or not she bumped into one or tripped and fell. From beneath of her cold and numb bare feet twigs snapped and leaves crunched, slight gasps escaped her mouth as visible breaths would puff out as she panted, tasting her own tears as she reached forth like a blind person. But once she heard snapping sounds behind her as something drew near, she would pause and slide her hand into the opening of her robe as she seemed to be uncaring that the garb almost fell open at this point. Feeling her pounding heart, her sapphire eyes widened. At this point as the crunching and snapping sounds continued, she knew something was there, pursuing her. -c-

With widened optics that continued to flood with tears, she would slowly glance back over her left shoulder, only to see that of a large figure making its way towards her from at a distance, drawing closer and closer by the second. At first she slumped up against a tree whilst she wept a little, dark raven strands of hair falling into her face and cascading over her shoulder as it flowed down her waist like a silken curtain. Grasping the bark of the tree by her sides she would wait before tilting her head back a little and glancing up. Yes, that was it. She would climb! But for what purpose? Gasping a breath, the woman kicked her feet on the ground a little as she kept watch on the figure, only to turn towards the tree and reach a trembling hand up towards the branch above her head. -c-

Like that she would grasp it tightly and not let go as she placed her other hand up there. For a second she hung there until she kicked her feet against the tree and hoisted herself up. Now up on the branch she crouched there, hugging the base of the tree at her side, hoping that whatever it was hadn’t seen her and would pass by. At this point the bottoms of her feet were dirty, her hands scraped and bleeding a little, her eyes still producing tears, and her robed form a trembling as the garb barely supported her and was much to large even though it only fell just a little past her knees. It would seem that she had recently been through something she didn’t wish to go back to and was probably something like hell itself.

Now only time would tell whether or not fortune was on this strange woman’s side and bring her good luck, or have something happen that would land her in a situation possibly worse than the one she had once been in. -e-

As this happened, the oddly fair woman placed a hand over her mouth in order to muffle her breathing. She seemed to figure that perhaps if she didn’t move, that whatever was below her, could not see her. But she would be proven wrong once she heard it sniffing the air before the scraps on her hands began to vanish. As this happened, she gasped a little and drew back against the tree as much as she could before the large creature placed something on the branch. Curious as to what it was as the thing began to walk off, she reached a hand out towards it but couldn’t reach. So slowly she edged down the branch, but kept her hand reached out none-the-less. Once she had gotten a hold of whatever it was, she shivered a visible breath and slowly lifted it, examining it with urgency. -c-

Wanting to pause and take a breath, she knew she couldn’t for she would be caught if she did. It all had began two days ago when she had been accused of practicing the arts of sorcery, which was banned where she was located at the time. The reason being was that a villager had seen her accidentally resurrect one of the children who had died just recently. Of course the child had to be killed and reburied. It caused a lot of controversy in the town, so she was arrested from the church she was kept at as if she were a nun, and was taken to the dungeon. There she had been locked away, stripped of her possessions and clothing and raped multiple times by the guardsmen who took great pleasure in terrorizing her. After all she was very beautiful and had a complexion too fair to compare. -c-
