Roxxy used the last bit of her energy to blast open the doors to the temple. The rain was a horrible disease when inflicted upon the woman. Barely standing, she stepped inside the building. Being inside the dry perimeter was like a breath of fresh air to her. Sparks began flying from her body, like a firecracker burning through the wick. She fell directly to the ground, and out her hand rolled a small violet crystal. Inside the crystal shown a dim light, flickering. Roxxy needed heat, before her source completely soaked through.

The sparks that flew from Roxxy's body started to synchronize into smaller and darker gems across her skin. The heat from the Priests flame seem to regenerate her physically. She had only but once suffered through a storm that raged outside such as the one that did now.

Her eyes flew open, but there was no pupil. Instead, her eyes shown a dark majestic purple, no character visible behind them. Her fingers wrapped around the crystal in her hand, it's glow fully restored. As her hand closed all the way around it, her body started to rise vertically off the ground. Upright, and head titled back towards the ceiling, a foreign tongue escaped from her mouth. Minutes passed before she stood on her feet without the hue of light surrounding her body, eyes still glazed over and unfocused.

Roxxy's eyes zoomed to their original state, and the reality of where she was hit her like a ton of bricks. She eased her magic back, but seemed to remain in the air. What was this? She had made her it to her destination with only minutes to spare, but what of her arrival? Panic urged through the young woman. Immediately, she let out the strongest of her electrical current she could. It broke her free of the net that was casting her within the air. With her feet on the ground, she ducked behind the first pillar she could find.

Roxxy channeled her crystal to play back what had happened during her state of unknowing. The Priest had recognized her distraught and warmed her body with some sort of mystical heat. Roxxy stared straight ahead, unsure of it all.

Roxxy rose to her feet, the feeling of cowardice not settling well upon her stomach. She darted from behind the pillar, her floor length jacket swaying behind her, "Which is why I stay in no place inparticular," She closed the distance, and noticed the bread and tea before the Priest. These were the items he had gone to retrieve, not a nuse or entrapment spell as did the others. She eyed the man suspiciously, before settling down on her knees before the tray.

"Roxxy." So many fears and inhibitions raced through her mind about where she was, who he was, and what was going on. her usual bounce back was failing her. No matter the place, nor the time, no other being had ever fed her of their own free will, let alone use their own resources for the better of hers.

Roxxy cleared her throat and folded her hands across her lap, rubbing her beloved crystal between her ten scrawny fingers.

Roxxy's eyes fluttered up, gleaming with more color than before.

"This is why I have traveled, why the waters work against me. There is something about this land that enthralls me. It has called to me across many miles."

Roxxy looked down at her crystal, and uncovered it for the Priest to see. "My heart has never shown so bright as it does here within your walls. This is why I have come," She met his eyes, "Something here calls to me. My powers have never been stronger, my senses never more alive."

She turned her head towards the entrance of which she arrived, "And certainly never so tested."

"Tell me more, Priest." She demanded, "Of your Crawling Chaos."

"Oh I can think of a few changes I would love to encourage." Roxxy smiled.

She seemed very young in age, but the thoughts that tormented her were that of very old magic. Roxxy was unaware of how many lives exactly she had lived, the crystal she carried held all of her past and history inside its sharpened walls. 5 years ago, she awoke in a strange thick forest, surrounded by birds. No matter how far she traveled, or whom she spoke to, there was nothing for her to find explaining who she was and where she came from. The closest thing Roxxy could find were the archives that led her to this particular land.

'The being that produces electric currents from its' body has been seen throughout history. Those that have encountered it, never lived to tell the tale. There is no further information regarding said being.'
Underneath the writing was a picture of a beast, that upon sight, sent Roxxy into a unexplained rage. Image

She has spent weeks upon months in a mindless wander, searching for just one part of the world of which she could feel of use, to feel a part of.

"What do you know of this?" She asked the man as she reached inside her cloak and pulled out a drawing of the beast she had seen in the archives.

She sat up straighter, "Ah yes." She bowed her head, "It is truly an honor, your highness." She let one eye peak up at him to question her entitlement of him, "I go by Roxxy. Uh, it's self proclaimed."

She noticed the dingeness of her cloak, "I want to thank you for your generousity, with the heat and food." She ate a full bite of the bread, and washed it back with the tea.

'Food tastes better when given and not taken, I see.'

"If you don't mind, please tell me of any area close by that I might sneak in some rest, and I will be on my way to come back at a more appropriate time for yourself, your Grace." Roxxy felt slightly out of place at the title of the Priest, instantly aware of the fact that she had just barged in on him, probably an act punishable by the laws here.

"I have no true desire to rest, only not to offend you as I am in such habit of doing due to my lack of social training, I should say." Impromptly, she took another gratifying bite of the salted bread, finishing her piece of.

"I'd mu.." Crumbs flew out. The girl flushed and covered her mouth with her hand, wiping the crumbs and swallowing her bite.

"I'd much rather learn more, even look about this place if you don't mind. I feel as if there is a history here that I might belong to." Her eyes questioned the Priest for a response, "Are there others here, like me? Like you?"

Roxxy stood and bolted from the room. She made an immediate right when she exited through a dark doorway, and slowed down as she saw lamps posted amongst the walls, all with flames burning red. The sight of the magickal flame enthralled her. When she was sure that the Priest no longer followed behind her, or so she thought, she made her way slowly down the end of the hallway, where she found several doors. Each had a letter posted on the outside; some were open, some were shut. Roxxy assumed these were the sleeping quarters that the Priest had told her about. She took advantage of his invitation to stay, and slipped inside one of the open rooms.

Instinctively, she slammed the door behind herself and took in her surroundings. There was a small cot with a thick brown blanket, and a bed side table with a single candle beside it. Roxxy walked over to the bed, and sat down. She reached towards the wick of the candle, and snapped her fingers. The electrical current that sparked lit the flame of the candle, and began to dance wildly in shadow form against the wall.

Roxxy looked about the room, oblivious to the fact that no one was there. She trusted not a single being on the planet with her plans. Not even a hospitable Priest who would help a strange girl get in from the rain, and feed her. Her past and future was at stake with the plans she carried inside her head.

Quiet as a mouse, Roxxy pulled something out from inside her coat. At first glance, it appeared to be a notebook of some kind. When she unwrapped the string that held the book closed, and turned back the cover, an ivory colored page with red letters stared up at her.

'Damiri' was all it said.

Beneath this word were four pictures of faces that would mean nothing to the ordinary eye. To Roxxy though, she knew exactly who all of them were. There were three men and one woman posted on this page. She had studied their portraits for hours on end, and had every structure memorized. Three of the four were dead, killed by the fourth. Mytri Damiri was a powerful, blood thirsty legend amongst the vampire community. He was more than that to Roxxy, however. He was indeed the man who had sent to her the beast that lie within her soul. The beast that calls to her, speaks out of turn, and haunts her dreams on a nightly basis.

Roxxy and the beast were to be joined forever, never to be parted. After accepting this fact, Roxxy soon learned to stop fighting the communication with the dragon, otherwise known as Ryuu, and embraced it. After learning what had happened to him, and how he came to be a part of her, she had decided to help him kill his arch nemesis, a man unworthy to live and walk amongst people so great. Although Roxxy and Mytri Damiri were a lot alike in many different ways, one thing Roxxy was sure of, there couldn't be two beings walking around, both known for great power and unforgiving attitudes, there just wasn't enough room. He would pose to be a great learning experiment for her as she learned to explore and use Ryuu's powers to the fullest.

'And this Shrine seems to be the perfect place to practice.' She thought to herself as she flipped through the familiar pages of the Damiri Family Scrolls.

Roxxy immediately slammed the book shut, and tucked it beneath the pillow atop her cot. She jumped to the door and swung it open. Her face was brighter now. Her skin had redeemed it's flawless blend of a lavender colored gem, "It's perfect!" She beamed. As a matter of fact, it's so peaceful here that I was able to full restore myself with merely moments of rest."

Opening the door a few inches further, and enclosing the entrance with her entire body, "I wonder, Nealaphh, might I call you Neal?" The girl's entire demeanor was enough to take anyone back. It was a wonder she had problems fitting in anywhere, with a smile like hers. "I'm not sure of the schedule you tend to keep, nor do I need a Guardian, I'm positive you have many things that you must tend to." She bit her bottom lip before finishing her request, "The last sanctuary I stayed in had a Dojo, is what they called it. Just a room where I could, uh, exercise.?" She looked down at her hand and extended it out between the herself and Nealaphh, and smirked as the veins in her hand turned a pearl white. They illuminated through her skin, as the tips of her hand formed globes on each end. "That kind of thing she said," meeting his eyes, closing her hand. "A place for thought, a place bigger than this room."

Roxxy took the first step down, then briskly followed behind Nealaphh. Upon dawning he middle of the staircase, Roxxy rolled her back like a cat. At this point, it wasn't fair to say who's aura reflected off the walls more brightly; hers or his?

"Ah, now this is more my style." Out of habit, she stalked to the middle of the room, and turned in a circle. As if to feel for a particular spot with her feet, she paused after a moments worth of time. Removing her coat, and folding it around the notebook concealed within, she sat it gently unto the floor, and positioned herself atop it. "Come over here, Neal!" She motioned to her companion, "Center yourself directly across from me." She repositioned her stance, and placed both hands unto her legs. "It will help balance my focus."

"Don't get weird on me, okay?" She asked more of herself than Nealaphh through on squinted eye.

Roxxy sat in with atop her legs in the cellar that Nealaphh brought her to so as she could meditate. She began to utter words that were not recognizable to any beings within these plains. Her body began to glow, and the strands of her shoulder length hair stood on end. The young girl became completely unaware of her surroundings, feeling protected within the cellar of the shrine, and slipped into the deepest and darkest part of her very own mind.

She now appeared to be within a throne room. Grey stones filled it, and water dripped slowly from several spots within the ceiling. Focusing her gaze, her normal reaction to the dampened enviornment started to take hold. Her vision cleared, and her wit became her, "This place really puts a new twist on 'Being thine own enemy." It wasn't clear as to who Roxxy spoke to, at first. Her bare feet clapped against the stone as she made her way across the room to the throne chair that sat at its' head. The girl knelt before the throne, both hands clasped upon one knee. "I am here, my Lord of Light, I have done what you asked."

Two seconds passed before a warm sensation enveloped Roxxy. She raised her head to gaze upon the entrance of her host, one that she had only seen a handful times before, and one that was a more beautiful watch each time. A crackle of static echoed throughout the room, taking form upon the throne. The blue light that shone from his body would blind any being without supernatural resistance. The heat that was felt from him was warmer than that having ever been felt before. His name was Ryuunonne, a Dragon God as old as time itself. To make his newly acquired host comfortable, Ryuunonne took on a much smaller version of himself here within Roxxy's subconscious.

Roxxy held the leather bound notebook up towards the dragon seated before her, "He behaved precisely to your prediction. The retrieval of these could not have proved any easier." "And your exit?" His voice boomed throughout the room, echoing off the walls, and shaking loose all pebbles that just sat without hold. "When he tried to feed, he was shocked to find the true nature of my being, to say the least." Roxxy's immature demeanor was unveiled even in the presence of someone as great as Ryuunonne. A grin danced upon the dragon's face.

Ryuunonne reached a clawed hand out and took the scrolls from Roxxy. "I shall keep these here with me, to secure their safety. You have done well, my child." "But won't I need them to perform your release ceremony, m'Lord?"

He mused at her eagerness to do his bidding, but was still unsure of how prepared the witch was. "Indeed, you will. However, Mytri should not be forgotten about so easily. He was my greatest foe, and to some extent, my defeat. Not only are there still a few items needed for the ceremony to be completed, but right now, you need to focus on your surroundings and make a name for yourself here within The Shrine of Shrines. Align yourself with beings of power, by merely being yourself, Roxxy. You hold inside of you a great power, and with my own presence enhancing that, many will accept you for their own purposes. You will need them when approached by the mercenaries that will come in the name of Mytri Damiri. They will not be defeated easily, and will not stop until they are. I have full confidence in you, child. But I am also confident about Mytri. So for now, you are to stay here within the walls of the Shrines where your presence is protected from being sought out by anyone, and build a place for yourself. Do not take this assignment lightly, the beings here are just as untrusting of you as you are of them."

"As they should be!" Roxxy interrupted, she couldn't remember how long it had been since she had truly made an ally, one she could trust with her true existence. Ryuunonne had been the first in ages, and not by choice either. "Believe in me, Roxxy, as I do in you, and we shall perform magnificent acts of purification within this world, and into the next. Remember, that is our main goal, and it's being complete is worth any trial asked of us."

Roxxy nodded, and took to her feet. She decided she had heard enough, and turned to exit Ryuunonne's throne room. "And you remember who is hosting who here." She muttered. Ryuunonne let out a roar at her defiance, and blue flames enveloped the entire room. They outlined Roxxy's body as she continued to walk, seeming completely unphased.

Her hair fell to her shoulders, and her eyes fluttered open as Roxxy came out of her trance. The notebook that she had sat upon before her meeting began, was gone. She found this interesting. Should it be considered within his possession, or mine? Roxxy shook her head, and looked around for Nealaphh. Seeing no one around, Roxxy made her way back up the stairs to the main floor of the Shrine, and took that time to wander throughout the halls.

Roxxy stood in front of the bar, she wasn't so much concerned for her safety, but more of being received by those she sought out. Having sought out information regarding "Hands for Hire", she had been directed here in search of a person named "Pensey."

She stood straight, with her cloak slunk well over her head, she pushed through the entry way, and scanned the surrounding. Roxxy was on a tight schedule, it would only be mere moments before the vampires hunting her would realize she wasn't within The Hollow anymore.

She saw the man she sought out rising from his seat and parting ways from his company. Afraid she might miss him, Roxxy glided up behind him. "I'm pretty familiar with nightmares, myself, as well." She responded, at an attempt of intrigue. She reached a gloved hand out towards his right shoulder, "Pensey, is it?"

Pensey had been but a few paces from the door before he was stopped by another female. Usually this would have turned up a crooked grin on his weather-worn face but this time Pensey merely frowned.

"That's depending on who's doing the asking," he said in his rough voice. The man reached out a hand to clasp his fingers around the girl's wrist to direct her hand away from him. Pensey was not a man that liked to be touched by those that were not closed to him or part of The Guild.

Drunk, his free hand shook slightly as it reached into his duster coat for an inside pocket. He may have been reaching for a way to defend himself if need be or he may have been reaching for a flask Pensey kept hidden inside.

It was a toss up and it would be up to the girl to decide.

A spark lit between the flesh of the two as the man grabbed her wrist. Roxxy instinctively pulled back, more concerned for the impression then the burn her skin might have just inflicted.

The man whom she had received information from about The Guild had given her an envelope with a wax signature seal keeping it closed. She held the parchment in her other hand, and held it up in front of her face, defensively. "I've been sent by a friend of yours from Verinotte Hollow." Having taken the mans word to heart about the parchment being her 'Get In Free' card, she did not open nor attempt to see in any way what was written inside. This was frustrating, though. Roxxy was not accustomed to explaining herself to anyone, let alone seeking out assistance. Ryuunnone would be proud of her.

Opening her eyes, she gently extended her arm towards the man, holding the envelope.

After roaming for several moments within The Shrine, and finding not a single soul to interact with, Roxxy began to feel disheartened. This was the usual conclusion any time she had ever sought out companionship. She was a loner through, and through. If only Ryuunonne could see how difficult of a task he had sat before her. Roxxy, however, was determined to succeed. Mercenary or not, this Shrine would not do for her to build a list of allies. Roxxy gathered her things about her, and set foot out to find those that would suit her needs.

The leather glove that Pensey wore was smoldering and warm from the inside. He had heard men calling other women "hot" but Pensey did not think that it was a literal term. He let go of whatever he was holding inside his duster and took off the glove, threw it on the ground, and stepped on it until it stopped smoking.

"Verinotte Hollow," Pensey repeated. "You owe me a new glove."

Pensey studied the envelope and the hand that it held. He plucked the envelope from her fingers, albiet with a good deal of caution this time around. He didn't want his fingers burned. They were beautiful tools not to be harmed.

The wax seal, a dagger with an eye, was broken unceremoniously and Pensey read the contents.

Grandmaster Pensey Locke,

I have directed a woman to you who wants to claim sanctuary with the Guild. She promises information to a bounty of riches in exchange for her safeguarding. She calls herself Rocksie and insisted on speaking to you directly. I have given her general information on where to find you.

Always with Steady Hands,
Lady Braggins

Pensey tore the paper into small pieces and shoved them into a pocket as he asked, "What do you want from me?"

Roxxy's eyes shifted, scanning the room. She couldn't help but to notice the man before her smelled as if he had been bathed in the ale itself. "I'm being hunted by a very powerful foe. He has a glorius extension of mercenaries at his dispense, and I'm afraid I lack the skills to fight them off. I've been told, however, that you and your group of bandits are highly skilled in the arts of defense and even attack. That's what I seek, Sir Pensey, protection provided by you and yours." She didn't take time out for his response before she pulled a hefty purse from within her cloak and dropped it unto the wooden table at her right. "I have money, of course, to take care of any expenses involved."

Pensey held up a hand to stop her from calling him "Sir" again. He was not a Sir, he was a Lord, and even better a Grandmaster Rogue. His steel-grey eyes considered Roxxy for several long ticks and tocks.

He rubbed his chest and finally decided.

"Your name is no longer Rocksie. I don't like it. It is not girl enough for you. You will be Damsel for you are a Damsel in Distress," Pensey said before letting out a low belch. He had the courtesy to blow it to the side. "And soon you will be a Damsel in Disguise."

Pensey picked up the coin purse and gave it an estimated weigh-in. He was pleased and tucked the purse into his duster. "I will not lie. Since coming here from Arcanum our numbers are few but those that are here are very good at hiding persons that wish not to be found. We can hide and train you in our arts, but in return you will become a member of the Guild and you will be expected to abide by our laws."

"You will also be expected to bring in information that will better the guild and our treasury, of course. Upon discovery of such information should be brought to me immediately. Do we have an understanding, Damsel?" Pensey said her new name inches from her face. His breath was awful and hot and foul.

Roxxy jerked her neck back about two inches, taking in air from the side.

"I'm not distressed!" Roxxy felt the need to defend herself, "I could just as easily let them find me, along with their demise, as you've noticed.." She scooted the glove lying on the floor with her foot. "I'm not really one to be handled. However, I desire their extermination as well." She shrugged, half accepting of the man's terms. "But my question is this, Sir High Lord, if you and your Guild are so experienced in your art, then why would I need to change my name anyways? I don't plan on socializing on any level; as you'll find, I'm very dedicated to my purpose. I see no need to be your Damsel."

Roxxy was unaware whether negotiations were or were not able to be made, but some things were just unacceptable to her. She had been 'Roxxy' for as long as she could remember. That's the name that Ryuunnone found her under, and also the one she planned on building his regime under. 'Yes,' she thought to herself, 'It's worth the effort.

"Well," Pensey said, crossing his arms across his chest and looking down his nose at the tiny woman. "If you insist but if you call me Sir one more time, it will be a last time." There was no warning in his tone. It was a promise; a promise not filled with hostilty.

No, Pensey was not a violent man unless he had extreme reason to be. Words, to him, were always the better weapon. Pensey had gotten himself out of many hopeless situations by using his silvertongue. Contrary to belief, the man could be sophisticated and very smart.

"Sit down," Pensey ordered, lazily gesturing to a seat at a table. "What exactly is the reason that you need training and to go into hiding. I demand full explanation before I agree to anything."

Roxxy slowly shuffled to the seat he had gestured towards, "Pensey, then?" She asked, satisfied and proud that he had agreed to her terms of naming.

Scooting herself up to the table, she contemplated where to begin. Ryuunnone was not able to communicate with her at any time outside of meditation, but his direct order was to make allies. Still, she could never be sure. "How do I know that if I tell you my who, what, where, and when, you won't sell me out to the very people I'm trying to avoid?"

Roxxy drummed a single gloved finger atop the wooden table.

"Fair question," Pensey said, tilting and nodding his head. He even respected Roxxy a little more for asking it. Any intelligent person would have done so. "Look," Pensey said. "If you join the Guild there is a code. We do no harm to those in the Guild, directly or indirectly. There are dire consequences to breaking rules. But, if you don't join the Guild..."

Pensey weighed his next words and decided that truth was the best route to take with this lady. She seemed straightforward and did not want to beat around the bush. He admired it. Pensey was a busy man and had no time for games. There was only so much drinking that could be done in one day!

"If you don't join the Guild and you tell me your secrets than I will sell your secrets to the highest bidder on the Market. That is how the game of crime is played." Pensey sat back in his seat, leaned his head over the back of the chair, and started to...snooze.

Roxxy's face dropped. She entertained the thought of removing one of her gloves and giving him a wake up call worth remembering. She took great offense to being fell asleep on. She opted to remain civil, flagging a nearby waitress and retrieving the man a hot cup of coffee. She left the gloves to protect his skin, and tapped his arm gently, "Joining your Guild sounds intriguing enough, but what when my training is completed? In all honesty, I plan to take on the force that hunts me head on, with or without the support of The Guild. If by choosing to venture out on my own as a member, would that be considered treason amongst your people?"

The waitress brought her the cup of hot tea she had ordered herself, though not as strong looking as Pensey's black coffee before him, she was also in need of nourishment.

Pensey woke up with a snort at being touched. He did not like being touched by those he was not familiar with and it made him want to do irrational things. He jerked his arm away, signalling this discomfort to Roxxy. The coffee bombarded his nose and Pensey pulled the mug closer. A flask was taken out of his duster and whatever alcoholic drink inside was poured into the coffee.

"That'll put some hair on your chest," Pensey grumbled. "Decisions are made together at The Guild. If no one can decide then I decide. If you want to do something on your own, then so be it, but the Guild will not come to your aid if you act like a fool. We don't have time for fools who do foolish things, or fools who get themselves killed. And I won't send more fools on a fool's errand to save a fool who's foolish enough to get his fool self killed!" Pensey slammed the coffee mug down on the table, rattling it and spilling the liquid everywhere.

"You'll train at your own pace at first as a Footpad. You have no say in Guild matters unless you get a Guild Master to lobby for you. You'll be a recruit until you pass the first test. If you can't pass it, you won't be in the Guild. Period and end of story."
