Sabetha Riwora

I'll rob you blind

0 · 1,285 views · located in Dark Woods

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Adantas

Description

Alias: The Vixen

Age: 24

Species: Unknown - She would call herself a mutant. She had the ability to shift into a fox but when she couldn't fully shift, she became a half creature.

Gender: Female

Due to a life changing experience several aspects of Sabetha have changed.

Occupation: None

Relationship: None

Appearance: Barely taller than 5'1, Sabetha is built like a twig, bony and very thin, often mistaken for being malnourished and sickly. In actual fact she has very lean muscle, capable of carrying her swiftly for many miles.

While still skeletal and slightly disfigured with shoulders hunched as if her body was meant to be aligned with all four appendages on the ground, the initial shock of the odd figure is startling but it suits her as she now holds her head up high and does not stoop to hide herself.

Living as a street urchin she didn’t have the luxury to clean up and nor did her attitude allow her. Now having changed drastically she has made an effort to change who she is. Her once bark-like and straw hair now is cleaner and while is still rather thin is growing better and has a healthy shine to it, the natural curls are coming back out, making her look younger. Her fox ears are no longer hidden and the mottled fur is now fresh and almost fluffy.

Her canine teeth while still yellow no longer have the grime and filth covering them. Her slitted feline eyes still hold their eerie green colour and can look quite terrifying especially when the light catches them and they reflect a ghostly glow. Sharp elongated nails while tidier are still long and sharp.

No longer feeling compelled to appear as she believed she should Sabetha has discarded the rags and now wears the clothes she reserves for assignments, a simply tunic over the top of tan knee length pants.

These small changes may not be able to hide her odd appearance but she no longer is perceived as threatening.

Personality: Sabetha has had a rollercoaster ride of a life. In her youth she was a rather quiet and solemn child but as any child does, she had natural curiosity and loved life. That all turned darker when after she shifted, she and her beloved father fled their small village. With nothing but the clothes on their backs and a few small coins they were forced to live in the slums. It hardened the poor youth very quickly and she to survive she would often sacrifice much, like the horrific pain of shifting to hunt for food. Her natural curiosity turned into a skill of thievery, she was thrust into a world of darkness and it was either sink or swim. For a while she managed to swim, keeping her head barely above water by distancing herself from morality and her happy self.

This hardened young Sabetha and she became increasingly rude and calloused, mainly because she had to be to deal with the underwold that she had found herself a part of. However, despite her darkening self she was attempted to keep some sort of balance for her father, if it weren’t for him she wouldn’t know what would happen. As it so happened her father was murdered and this drove her into a violent and grief-stricken rage. So desperate and broken that she hunted down the killers and slaughtered them in cold blood. It was this action that finally drove her to the edge. Her dark persona finally became her. For a long time she was simply cruel and heartless but as the years went by she grew into the darkness and while always had a fiery pit of rage and hate inside her she adjusted and became rather mischievousness, delving into the malicious. She was often rude and sarcastic when speaking to people. She enjoyed dark humour and liked watching people squirm.

She became so horrible and desolate that she began to make a name for herself as a ruthless assassin. She was the one people sent to retrieve things. She had a knack for stealing and greatly enjoyed it, although, arguably, she seemed to enjoy the chasing part more. Her reputation grew and a part of her revelled in it, but a small part of her detested it as it proved that she truly was a monster. She became a deeply suspicious person since losing her father. Sab believed she since she was a monster than there was nothing she could do to change her appearance. This made her very aggressive, judgemental and assuming when she dealt with anyone.

A drastic change altered this, a test showed that she in fact wanted to save herself and so she brought herself back to the light. Of course, after everything changing who she is wasn’t going to be easy. However, now with her new found self confidence and acceptance she was going to be better. She refused to allow her past actions and appearance dictate who she could be. Her maliciousness and mischievousness turned into playful cheek while still slightly rude. She still struggles not to assume that everyone is against her, but she is trying.

Her broken heart is slowly mending, although until she can find someone who will truly care for her it will always have that crack that was done by the death of her father. While she has changed for the better she is still Sabetha and everything that has happened hasn’t suddenly disappeared, meaning she is still sarcastic and a pessimist. With her turn around she now refuses to go back to working in the world of crime. Although, that doesn’t mean she’s getting rid of her skill for sneakery and thievery, those still come in handy.

Weakness: While she has great endurance, she is left with next to no strength, a result of being hungry and on the run often. And if Sab isn't able to get out of a situation using her agility then she's pretty much doomed. But that isn't to say she wouldn't fight every step of the way!

Weapons/Abilities: Is a skilled 'shadow'. She blends into the dark, is able to hide in plain sight and is very good at stealth. A honed pick-pocketer and apt with a small blade. She doesn't have any magic or 'powers', she has been forced to learn the art of survival.

She didn't hesitate to pull her knife and slash his wrist. Unfortunately she was not expecting it to just harmlessly slide off of his scaly skin. Her heart started to beat a little faster. Never had she encounter something that could not be harmed it such a way. In her mind a voice echoed in her mind. Her eyes widened and she struggled even more to get her wrist out of the creatures grip. As she was doing so the scales that were against her skin morphed into flesh and now in front of her stood a man, probably younger than herself in a cloak far too big for him. The voice still reverberated in her mind and when he did speak aloud she was having trouble discerning which was in her mind.

She glared at him. What was the point? This was the most confusing encounter she had ever witnessed. This strange creature which had the power to morph and he was willing to tell her everything. What was everything anyways? She didn't like him and she hated how he made her feel powerless. But he was now in human form and she was considering taking a dirty move. But then again he still had her wrist. She considered but didn't say anything yet.

She was still furious and she had in mind to make a runner but the fact that he had apparently been told to give her some information intrigued her.

Sabetha raised her eyebrow. So he was one of the mysterious bartenders at gambit. She did the easy math and realised that he was much younger than he looked. While he told her what he was it was still useless information and she didn't care to be stopped from her job. This impudent fool was getting on her nerves. She didn't care about who he was.

The gardens where buzzing with insect life, people where casually walking through or just sitting and admiring the view. Sabetha hated the gardens, especially in daylight. She just generally hated going anywhere in the light but she was meant to be watching someone. A target that she had been assigned for unknown reasons. She saw a young man sitting alone on a bench, anger and jealously boiled up inside her. She was denied a normal life and she hated people for having one. She hung back in the shadows, simply watching the passers-by, hoping the see her prey.

Sabetha watched from the shadows as a young dark haired girl sat down next to the boy, she scowled, she wasn't sure if either were her target as she had been given instructions to find a healer. Apparently she was supposed to know who that was. She leaned against the tree and as she turned her senses spiked. Someone was watching her. She looked around and saw a young boy draw a knife. Was he stupid enough to really come and attack her? She waited and watched out of the corner of her eye, making sure to portray that she didn't know he was coming towards her. He seemed to sense that coming near her wasn't the wisest decision and started to back away and leave. Sabetha humphed but let him go. Since he hadn't attacked her it was alright, although she wouldn't have minded the entertainment. She turned her attention back to the two on the bench trying to determine who was the healer.

Sabetha Riwora decided she needed to find a way to determine who the healer was, she was just going to wait around all day for something to happen. Without her eyes leaving the two she slowly extracted her knife from it's sheath that hung around her waist. If this person was truly a healer than they would have the incessant need to help the injured, even if that was someone who looked they had been dragged through the forest. Sabetha slowly and carefully started to draw the glinting knife along her arm. She drew a shallow cut, one that would bleed but wouldn't cause much damage. The blood started to bubbled and drip down to the floor. It left an annoying sting but it was nothing compared to what she had experienced before. She replaced her knife and prepared herself. She willed herself for tears to fall, something that she had to force. Once her eyes were moist she started breathing shallow as if out of breath. Now she was ready. She dashed out from the shadows, looking like she had just come from the alleyway, crying for help. She tripped over her foot and made a very heavy fall. It would definitely attract attention. Now in broad daylight in the middle of the gardens she lay there, letting the blood seep onto the floor from her outstretched arm. She would then see who was the healer.

Sabetha Riwora was beyond shocked, when she thought healer she was imagining someone who would patch her up not some magical light emanating from her hands. At least now she had not only determined who the healer was but why her employer wanted her. Sabetha found herself awkwardly lying in the girls lap eyebrow scrunched as she started at the healed arm. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before. She only caught the end of what the girl was saying but realised quickly that she needed to reply, "I, ah, I have a place. But I'm still feeling weak. Would you care to escort me there?" She hated the fact that she had to put on such a weak voice but she needed the girl to view her as an injured creature, unable to cause her harm. Sabetha glanced up and found not only the girl looking down at her but also the boy that she was talking to before. She frowned, hoping that he didn't plan on coming with as that could throw a spanner in the works. "Can you help me up? I can then show you the way." She said to the girl without her fox like eyes leaving the boy.

The healer unfortunately asked the boy to help her up, it would make things a bit more difficult but nothing Sabetha couldn't handle. She scooted herself off from the girls lap and grabbed the boys outstretched arm, effortlessly pulling herself up. She didn't offer any thanks simply letting go and helping the healer up in turn. "She made sure to look a bit unstable on her feet before starting to walk towards the meeting place. The only thing she knew was that she had to lead the healer to The Stairs. She didn't know who was taking her but promise of payment was a way of ensuring that no questions were asked. "I shall lead the way. Follow me." She said meekly, mentally kicking herself for sounding so stupid before heading off.

Sabetha Riwora This was getting better and better in Sabs opinion. First the girl was coming willingly -minus the tiny lie- and she was offering free food! If only the damned boy would leave them alone and everything would be perfect. "I would greatly appreciate the offer." Sab said gently, she hated talking as such but she wanted the free food. Food was a luxury that she often couldn't afford. Getting jobs were hard at the best of times and payment was scarce. She was usually stealing for scraps at gambits. The only upside was that she was able to hone her skills at thieving by coming up with fun and different ways of swiping someone's plate of steaming vegetables right from under their noses. She glanced over to the boy, it was clear he didn't like her but she didn't give a damn, if he wanted to interfere he would find out the hard way. Yet, she felt a strange feeling as if there were some invisible constraint around her. It was probably just her imagination but she made sure that she was weary and kept her alerts on high. They continued walking down the street and finally came to a small diner, it's greasy aromas disgustingly enticing.

Sabetha hated crowds. She was feeling very uncomfortable walking into the diner and as she took a seat she could see that so was the boy who sat opposite. It gave her a malicious feeling of glee. The waiter came and the healer asked for a Dr. Pepper, cheeseburger and fries whereas the other guy simply asked for an orange juice. There were so many choices and Sabetha was suddenly struck with indecision. In the end she decided on a steak and salad with a shot of scotch. "Steak and salad with a scotch." She said without looking at the waiter. She was feeling particularly uncomfortable again. Her clothes where dirty and probably didn't smell very attractive and don't even get started on the hair. Even though it looked like bark and was coarse and brittle, it did the job of hiding her fox ears. When the guy passed over some cash to the girl Sabetha just rolled her eyes and waited for the meal to arrive. It didn't take long and soon she was diving into the huge meal, not caring whether what anyone thought of her lack of manners.
