Sandi always felt that the world and society that his organisation offered him was never meant for him, and that made him extraordinarily good at second guessing his coworkers.

That second guessing, that doubt that they were doing their best to serve led him into the infamous hands of Internal Affairs. The man himself is a classic case of a sociopath who knows how to play pretend.

Sandi's dossier points that he is skilled at faking sadness, love, interest and anger despite internal studies pointing that the agent feels none of those things, and has used his skills at acting to rise though the ranks.(Once again, Citation needed, who wrote this dossier? - D Class Admin Morgana)

Sandi is armed with standard issue IA equipment, laminate badge, handcuffs, implanted tracker and sidearm.

So begins...

The streets were crowded with people, everyone going to work, or lunch, or some other event that was meaningless in the big scheme of things. It was a lot of background noise, and no one really stuck out. A young woman in a clean-cut dress suit with a short skirt and a long jacket talked on a phone at one corner. Another making her way toward a coffee shop that was tucked in among the skyscrapers. One of them wasn't like the other beings there, however, though to look at them, it was business as usual.

Sandi would receive the mission info on the flat datascreen that was just for that purpose. It was a neat little piece of technology, as slim as fabric, and able to fold out into an uninterrupted screen and touchpad. He was to find and interview Kestrel Sketsis and her partner Soken Nekku, and information put her in this location, though no black-skinned beings were to be seen. The darkest female had rich chocolate skin, and amber-hued eyes, but she was much shorter and slimmer than the hydra was.

As for Kestrel...

A woman in her mid to late twenties sat in the coffee shop, drinking some whipped cream and chocolate chip mess. She was relaxed, reading a newspaper, and wearing a long leather jacket that seemed to be brand new, with its dark smooth fabric. The woman herself was unremarkable, with creamy mocha skin, and dark brown eyes, her short black hair seeming to have a burgundy shine to it. She looked the part of the businesswoman, a flat touchpad in front of her, playing a video of some sort of sport, possibly paintball.

Sandi had gotten the information on his little datascreen, flicking the fabric away and tucking it into the pockets of his coat. The investigator stopped short and checked himself out in a nearby shop window, brushing his left hand around his lightly haired chin and turning his frown upside down.

The investigator was glad that the information put her near a coffee shop, as it was morning and he could really use some coffee bean brew. Sandi slid his laminate RD badge under his coat and glanced inside the window, gazing though the glass and looking for anyone who might be an A class assassin.

Yeah that didn't really short the list of suspects down. There was an ebony female with amber eyes, another with brown eyes and probably more if he really dedicated himself to looking but any idiot in the Red Death knew that if one of their own killers wanted to hide there wasn't a damn chance that he'd be able to find them.

There was something he could do to narrow the list though. Sandi opened the door and waltzed over to the counter, coughing into his hand and ordering a quick coffee. "God, it smells like Red Death in here." Sandi grumbled loudly, looking as grumpy as his voice sounded.

If that didn't warrant a minor cue from whoever the assassin was, he'd have to try harder.

A few people looked up at the man as he entered, but due to lack of recognition, he gained little more than passing glances. The young man at the counter took Sandi's order, but seemed a little concerned,"Red death? It smells like tuberculosis in here?"

The woman with the newspaper gave the barest hint of a smile at the barista's distress toward Sandi's statement, but otherwise gave no sign that she was even listening to anything other than the arena's sportscasting. There were a couple snickers though the room as well, including a middle-aged couple, who then whispered to each other while shooting glances toward Sandi.

Sandi didn't have to try to not frown. "Nah, I mean death. I have a cold though, so don't worry about it. Thanks for the coffee." The investigator slid him payment across the counter as he took one more look across the room. Sandi sipped at his cup and pushed off the counter.

That paint-ball looked familiar but there was no definite evidence of any RD activity. Sandi didn't really take any classes on how to catch a killer out, but maybe he was working at it wrong, maybe she was acting normally. Sandi smiled at the middle-aged couple and turned around, looking the young man at the counter with piercing gaze.

"You have any regulars here, mister...?"

The young man at the counter flinched under the intense expression, and stammered out an affirmitive,"We have a few...are you looking for someone in particular?" He decided to point out the regulars present, which included an older man grumpily banging away on a keyboard, the middle-aged couple, who had gone back to their normal conversation, and the mocha-skinned woman, who was just setting down her paper to check a text on her touchpad.

"A-are you a cop or something?"

"Something like that." Sandi replied. The man abusing his keyboard was definitely not Red Death material, and the couple might've been the two he was looking for if they weren't so... boring. Being an RD investigator was as boring as tying your shoelaces with tongs. Sandi shook his head and finished his cup of coffee.

The investigator did a quick dismissive wave at the boy at the counter and worked his way over to the mocha-skinned woman, a creative beeline though the various people enjoying their morning addictions. "Hey!" Sandi called, helping himself to a seat at the woman's table. "I swear we've met before, you have one of those faces you know?".

The woman set her touchpad back down switching it back to the arena broadcasting, just as Sandi seated himself. One would suppose that it looked like the man was just trying to flirt, especially when the woman offered the inspector a friendly smile, of slight amusement,"I get that a lot. Though I have to say no, we haven't met before."

She offered her hand in a friendly gesture,"Kestrel, at your service. Excuse my partner's "absence"." She paused to take a sip of her drink once more, and Sandi would notice that the sound around them was somewhat muffled. Standard gear of the magical spectrum, the inspector would know that the presence of the wind charm meant that this was in fact the woman he was looking for.

"So you're my new babysitter, hmm? Seems like I must be doing a good job....so how would you like me to start my report?"

"Babysitter's the word. IA sent me all the way here to get my class rating, speakin' of which." Sandi held out a finger to stop her from replying and folded out his datascreen. "I'm Sandi Viklund." The investigator said, his voice dropping the cheerful tone and he didn't bother shaking her hand.

If he put on a charade and they became friends, eventually she'd see though his mask and the business relationship would be soured. It was easier to act natural with assassins anyway, they had a nasty habit of seeing though acts. Sandi's fingers danced on the surface of the screen, sending his superiors a message that he found one of them, and that the other one wouldn't be too far off.

Sandi slumped back in his chair and took a sip of coffee. "Start your report on who you've disposed off, you've got a list, right?"

Kestrel only seemed amused by the abrupt switch in gears, her cheerful smirk making it fairly evident that her manner of business was relaxed. She slid her touchpad over to touch Sandi's, tapping a few things, and switching it to an extensive list of targets and their current status, most of which were eliminated. When she did this, there was a masculine voice as a hushed, but annoyed tone,"Hey! I was watching that!"

"Hush, now. You're so poorly behaved," Kestrel swatted her own shoulder lightly in scolding,"You can watch our grunts paint a bunch of savages later."

She turned her attention back to Sandi,"As you can see, I'm a touch ahead of schedule, and there are a total five additional targets on the list that were eliminated without orders. One was eliminated due to his destruction of Red Death property, the other four were recreational, and require no compensation."

She pulled the touchpad back and switched it back to the arena battle.

Sandi didn't miss a beat. "Recreational? You going freelance on RD? I hadn't anticipated that." He leaned back lifting his touchpad to his face, looking lazily over the list of names before letting it fall back onto the table with a clatter. "You've done well, and so has your partner, the talking coat." Sandi didn't smile, instead he gave them a respectful nod.

"Quite a record he has. I read up on you two on the flight here. You both have quite the record, and I honestly don't know why I'm here except for the company." Sandi shrugged. "I'm usually around to investigate -Oh that's right, one of you has a record for needing discipline." Sandi leaned forward and laced his hands together.

"Have you and your partner been going along well?"

This was when Kestrel's act faltered a little, and she looked away and to the left, her expression seemed have a hint of embarrassment to it as well,"You want me to be honest, huh....well, he's crass, unprofessional, and generally a pain in the ass. In fact, he's groping me right now."

"Am not. I am a classy jacket, I am simply fitting your form comfortably."

"And that too, talking out of turn."

"He asked us both a question."

"He asked me a question. This is exactly what I'm talking about, you're so unprofessional."

"You're unprofessional."

"Oh very mature."

"I'll oh your mature."

Kestrel proceeded to take the jacket off, calmly and stood up so that she could shake it out. Vigorously. She sat down again, quite calmly,"However, he performs on an S-class level, and I highly recommend him for solo missions. Highly."
