a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Midnightclub

Description

Name: Saphira Morzal
Age: 12 Months
Description: Saphira didn't get the chance to be a baby. Her curse forced her to grow and now she chooses to grow at a steady but accelerated rate. She has the body of a 10 year old, she is 4'4'' and weighs 90lbs. Her hair is a black that is so dark that it seems to draw the eye into an endless void. Her skin is so pale so that any who observe her might imagine her to be a specter instead of a human. She has purple eyes that seem to stare into the very bowels of one's soul and a voice that is an adult's. Her small body is lean but strong.

Personality

Saphira is sarcastic, rude, and snide. Inside she knows that the power that flows through her veins is one that she must own and she knows that to control it she has to understand the feelings that it causes. Her power allows her to feel the peril that others are placed in and she can act to help that person or she can use that pain against them. Her power also allows her to look into someones heart, feel their pain, and utter that which can be said to cure their despair or cause them emotional duress.

Equipment

  • A grey t-shirt and a pair of Levi's that Nespral found for her.
  • a switchblade she got after a fight with brawlers.
  • a bow she found on the streets of the slum. Currently she has but three arrows and no practice.

History

Atra gulia un ilian tauthr ono un atra ono waise skolir fra rauthr.
A simple blessing was spoken to her at birth. It was meant to be a simple sentence that would guard her from misfortune but a mispronunciation caused the blessing to become a curse. Instead of being shielded from misfortune, she became a shield to misfortune.

Astra skolia un aruthoro waise heil fra ser destruendo de su muenstrado.
A reversal to the curse that ruined her life. She could feel others' pain but no longer was compelled to act on it. The Spirit Wolf Nepral cast this spell and then took Saphira in so that he could teach her how to use her power. From there she would have to choose her own path in life.

Saphira Morzal sat with her arms around her legs. Her small frame was hunched over as spasms contorted her face into gruesome grimaces. She was trying to fight all of the urges she got when she felt the pains and horrors of other people's lives. She started to rock and then stopped as glass shattered down the street. Then she felt him, a young man with a troubled past, he was too close for her to ignore so she walked up behind him. Then she tugged on his pants leg.

Saphira Morzal was nonplussed by the large boy's anger. She stared into his eyes for a long time before moving. Then she spoke quietly so that he could not hear what she had said. Before he could ask her, she spoke more loudly in a voice that could not have been her own: "You hurt others but every time you fight you feel worse about yourself deep down, no matter how many times you win. Your mother wouldn't like the person you have become and you don't like him either. Deep down, you want to be good and you need to be good."

Saphira Morzal chuckled darkly at his own denial. She wasn't afraid of him, because she felt that he could never hit her. He feared her and she knew it. "I don't lie Chad, I only told you what you needed to hear." She grimaced once more as if hearing blood curdling wails. "Do you have anything to eat?"

Saphira Morzal sighed and then watched as Chad walked away. She could find food elsewhere but she considered following him. She felt her curse pulling on her and followed him. For some reason she was sure that something bad would happen to this guy, she needed to be there to stop it.

Saphira Morzal nodded though she knew Chad wouldn't see it. "Yeah, I'm following you." She heard a knife flick open and jumped in front of Chad, "Watch it the man from your fight, he sent his friends to attack you!"

The men hadn't noticed Saphira as she circled around behind the man with the bat. Picking up the knife, she jumped on the man's shoulders and stabbed him in the neck, killing him instantly and painlessly. she rode the dead man to the ground, rolled off and put her back to Chad. She held the knife up and guarded him as best she could, the others' pain was starting to bother her, like an itch needing to be scratched.

Saphira Morzal nimbly dodged the chains as they swung towards her, back-flipping out of the way and landing near the man that Chad had just downed. She kept the switchblade in a defensive position as she moved to stand behind Chad. She would let him take on Lucas by himself.

Saphira Morzal felt every blow that hit Chad as if it had hit her. She almost blacked out until the curse ripped through her and threw her into motion. She ran up Chad's back as he kneeled on the ground. Just as she stepped on his shoulders she bounded up and over Lucas and landed behind him. She ran at Lucas and aimed her knife straight for his arteries in his legs.

The punch sent Saphira's small body flying backwards and she landed in a pile of trash. The curse forced her out of unconsciousness and she rolled to her hands and knees. She spit blood out onto the concrete and picked up the knife as she stood up. Her frail body swayed slightly before she tried to attack Lucas again, all she knew right now was that she needed to protect Chad from harm.

Saphira Morzal held back, she knew it was Chad's fight now. She sat on the ground and rubbed her chin where the big man had hit her. Now she started to feel for Lucas, Chad's punches started to hurt her just as much as Lucas' had. "Just finish it already!" She screamed, as her head started to throb.

Saphira Morzal threw up from the combined force of her pain and the pain that she felt in the other people. She closed the switchblade and almost threw it down but instead pocketed it and walked up to Chad. She shuddered and nearly fell over but then she grabbed at the bruiser's hand to steady herself.

Saphira Morzal was knocked down by the man. She stared hard at his retreating bulk. "He would have killed you. If I hadn't stopped him, the blow from his bat would have killed you. You're welcome." Then she stood up and turned away, she had saved him from death. She also knew that the other man, Mad Dog, had died painlessly which was better than the fate he would've had otherwise. Sometimes death is a better fate than life with pain.

She limped away and held back bitter tears. Why did she have to get this curse? She was only four months old and already she had been in more fights than she could count, just to save people from pain. It was Ironic.

Saphira Morzal hid in a small hovel eating a chicken leg. She was tired yet ravenous as she tore into the meat. She stayed as silent as possible, not wanting to give herself away. Her small frame was almost invisible in the shadow of the corner where she sat.

Saphira Morzal felt him before she heard him. With that feeling came a wave of understanding, of shared pain and the need to help. Saphira hated whoever this man was already, simply because she was forced to help him. She already knew what she would say to him, but she didn't like it. She crept silently to the window and watched the man walking towards her with a mix of contempt and uncontrolled care.

It was an odd feeling indeed, to be the object of your own hatred through another person. Saphira, had unknowingly caused pain and now she was compelled to fix that wrong. She walked out of the hovel into the open, unafraid because she was certain that no harm could befall her. "Hello there."

Saphira Morzal knew the type of fear coursing through the man. He was probably wondering if she was something other than what she appeared to be. What surprised Saphiathe most, however, was that he hadn't noticed that her voice was far more...mature...than what it should be. She considered what would happen before answering again. Then she spoke up, "I am Saphira Morzal and no, I am not lost."

Saphira Morzal didn't know anything of secret sects or the occult but she did understand pain and suffering. She assumed, naturally that he was someone who fought and gave pain. "Well Tobias, I am a simple child, or baby, of four months and you are a sower of pain. Even if it is for the right reasons, do you realize that with every injury you cause, I feel that pain? Even so, since you are the closest, I feel the need to help you."

Saphira Morzal smirked at his apology, it wasn't his fault and she knew it but his unwitting apology did make her want to laugh. "I could tell you what you need to hear, but first, I have something else to tell you. You are going to have to fight again today, but not with me. One of your enemies is going to attack soon, that warning should help if anything."

Saphira Morzal felt another presence, something that she was actually afraid of. "Maybe, fighting isn't the best idea in this situation." She walked towards Tobias as a dark mist started to spread at the far corner of the street.

"Um," Saphira was unsure of herself, the creature-if that is what this thing could truly be called-was only giving off fear. But she did feel as if this thing wasn't afraid but something to be feared. "I really think that we should-" she cut herself off when she saw the transformation that Tobias had gone through. She steeled herself for the upcoming fight and got behind Tobias.
