A young writer with a weight on her shoulders
The solitude of her apartment appeals to her but sometimes the quietness is overpowering. When the feeling becomes more than she prefers to handle, she hits the pavement to find any little niche with enough space for her to perch and observe. Selene loves art and what of it the world can offer.
Perhaps her biggest flaw is her new-found finickiness. It's affected her writing for the better but has been a negative influence in other ways. She easily creates excuses to explain why things cannot be a certain way. She's convinced herself that fewer and fewer things meet her standards, including people. Often though, this is because she's afraid of making the wrong choice. She blames herself for her break-up.
At all times, Selene can be found with a mechanical pencil and some semblance of paper.
From preschool to college, Selene met numerous classmates, teachers and others but made few friends. Of course, her romantic interests were even fewer. She began college while newly engaged to her high-school sweetheart. But, the thrills of college life were too much for the relationship. After walking in on her fiance's infidelity, she ended everything. The memory scarred her perception of men altogether and thus she has been unable to keep up a decent relationship. As the end of her first college year approached, Selene regretfully kept up her RSVP to a New Year's party. Her resolution? To swear off all ideas of love and devote herself to her writing.
