Her sharp, shockingly yellow eyes flicked upwards to the moon, softening in the pale light as she smiled into the heavens. This was where she belonged, in nature, away from the stinging reality that lay behind her. The blood-red lips curled up into a satisfied smile as she listened to the not-too-distant sound of waves crashing against the rocks and the rustling leaves.

Suddenly, the features on her beautiful face became wary and hard, her nostrils flaring as she caught an unfamiliar scent. Her ears twitched as she heard the melodic tones of someone's voice. It seemed as though she wasn't alone after all. She pushed away from the oak and strode forward, the hem of her dress fluttering gracefully about her ankles.

Selmaina Kamarro [color=navy]The slim arc of her eyebrow crept up her forehead as she stopped a few feet behind him, the wind gently stirring her raven-colored hair. Her cloak settled around her, giving her body the appearance of a tall, slim column as she nodded in answer.

"She has favored me more suitably in past times, but she does not yet place her wrath upon my head...so one could say that I am contented." Her voice could be likened unto the chiming of delicate wind chimes, but there was no mistaking the underlying tone of bitterness, and the smooth, unreachable mask she wore in place of emotions. She was not phased by Clive's eloquent, and possibly outdated speech, for she herself had a peculiar way of speaking. Some called her old-fashioned, but it was safe to say that they didn't know just how old-fashioned she was.

"Pray tell me good sir...how is it that you can walk upon air without falling to your death amongst the rocks and adders? I find it strange also that your footfalls make barely a print upon the dewy grass..."[/colo

Selmaina Kamarro The corners of her unnaturally red lips twitched as she witnessed this unusual act of chivalry. She had thought such practices had died with the nights of old, and yet here he was, upon his knees with his cool mouth upon her skin. Surprisingly, she did not pull away, her impeccable set of manners holding her steady as she tried to keep a surprised laugh held fast in her throat.

"I am Selmaina Vendier (pronounced ven_DYEER) Kammarro, and it is indeed a pleasure to come across a man who has not yet forgotten ways and speech of old." She gave him a slight, and graceful curtsy, the emerald folds of her gown billowing in waves about her. One would not guess that she did not often go clothed in such formal attire by the way she moved so easily.

"And I daresay that you are correct in your evaluation of the 'peculiar', for what truly is normal? Each has a definition of their own and each would beg to differ with the other."

Selmaina Kamarro shook her head, sending her inky hair over one shoulder, "Not at all. It would be a pleasure to sit with you." She moved towards the cliff, her bare feet tickled by the blades of grass. Without a second thought, she sat upon the edge, precariously balanced with her legs dangling in open air. Her caramel-colored skin was revealed as the ocean breezes whipped her dress erratically about. She gazed dreamily over the waves, the haunting haze of memories falling over her liquid-gold irises.

Selmaina Kamarro swept into the tavern, the tails of her black trench coat brushing softly on the floorboards behind her. As she looked around the room, her face remained emotionless and her golden eyes cold. There was no one here that she could trust, at least not by the looks of things. Her slim hands slid into her deep pockets as she strode towards an empty booth, sitting in it with a graceful flourish of her coat and dress. One could not guess that she did not usually wear such formal attire by the way she handled herself.

Selmaina gracefully folded her hands in her lap as she continued her survey of the room, nothing escaping her calculating stare. The patrons here appeared harmless, at least for now, and she leaned back casually in her seat, trying her best to appear relaxed.

Selmaina Kamarro Her ears twitched as the low hum of conversation began to pick up again. It was still only a few, but still just as irritating to her overly sensitive ears. The woman was almost surprised at her current state of mind, such things didn't usually bother her. It was a bar after all, and the patrons had their right to conversation...but perhaps she was still stuck on what had taken place only hours before. A shiver passed through her slim frame as she stifled the unpleasant memories. It wouldn't do to snap here and now, when she was in the midst of so many who had not wronged her.

Still, a nasty part of her mind didn't care, and almost wanted to give free reign to the ugly rage that twisted in her gut. It didn't give a damn who was in the way, much less who got hurt. She drew a long shuddering breath to clear the thoughts and continued her cool survey. Perhaps she could find someone to make conversation with...to take her mind off of things.

Selmaina Kamarro flinched at the sound of a voice, startled out of her deep thought. She glanced up at the young male who stood before her, his eyes somewhat hesitant and wary. Not wanting to frighten him away, Selmaina let her head tilt slightly to one side and the slightest smile curl at the edge of her naturally red lips. "Hello...I didn't expect you to come speak to me." Her voice was soft and musical, with just the slightest hint of a Russian undertone, but her shockingly yellow eyes did not drop their cold, calculating gaze. She wasn't trying to make them unfriendly, it had become habitual in recent years.

Selmaina Kamarro One hand reached from her lap and extended towards him, offering it to shake, "Selmaina Kamarro, currently...unattached. Take that as you will." She allowed a little twinkle into her eye, attempting to make him as comfortable as possible. It had been ages since she'd had decent conversation, and now was not the time to let her temper and paranoia get the best of things. "And don't worry about offending me, it would take a lot for that to happen." Not a complete lie...she wasn't easily insulted, but there was no telling how she'd react to other statements.

Selmaina Kamarro motioned for him to sit and allowed her hand to rest on the table before she answered. "I come here because it's so different from where I spend most of my time these days. It's...rather freeing to come here and not have to watch every word I say and every little twitch I make. It still pays to be careful, mind you, but it's quite a bit better than what I'm used to." The woman allowed her eyes to focus on Johnny's face, grazing over every feature, memorizing. Another habit she'd picked up lately...ever since so many had betrayed her, she'd taken to memorizing everyone she spoke to, so she could deliver their just desserts if they tried anything stupid. With a sigh, she dropped her chin into one palm, "And what about you? I've come across several interesting stories here, and I'm assuming that you're no exception."

Selmaina Kamarro laughed, "You certainly have a strange way of describing things. But I'm one to talk I suppose." She smiled and dropped her eyes to the table, her companion would probably never guess why her speech was so strange, but that was another matter entirely. The woman looked up at him again, the irises of her liquid golden eyes seeming to twist in a whirlpool, "But I doubt that you don't have some sort of story. Whether it's interesting or not, you got to where you are somehow, and I doubt that these Clan Invictus you've involved yourself with are uninteresting.

Selmaina Kamarro She wasn't too surprised by his little tale, from the looks of him he hadn't had it easy. And though he was still young, it was obvious that his childhood had been ripped away. Not unlike her...Selmaina shifted in her seat both of her hands placing themselves uncomfortably in her lap. It was unnerving really, to see someone so like herself, granted, their hardships had been different, but she could see that familiar look in his eye, and that same way that he carried himself. It was all too similar. She tore herself away from the endless pit of memories and managed a nod, "I lost my father as well...unfortunately it was in death rather than in separation, but I can say that I understand."

Selmaina Kamarro Her face twitched slightly as the horrific memories resurfaced, but she felt obliged to tell him after he'd told her of his family. With a visible swallow, she managed to choke out a brief retelling of a very old tale. "Both my father and my mother were murdered by a hired man. My grandfather sent this...Hunter after them because he did not approve of their marriage or my birth. I was seven when they were killed in front of me and left to rot." Her face had become expressionless and her hands were shaking, though she clasped them so hard together that the knuckles flared white. She could still smell the stench of their blood in her nostrils.

Selmaina Kamarro couldn't stop a bark of a laugh from escaping her lips, "It seems as though we both have dysfunctional families don't we? Of course...I've recently started seeing my grandfather, and he insists on bringing up the subject every time we meet. He believes that I can 'make right the wrongs of my sires'." The woman gave a very unladylike snort and brushed a piece of ink-black hair from her eyes. She still couldn't understand why she put up with her grandfather after all these years, especially when he was so...infuriating.

Selmaina Kamarro slipped into the tavern, the tails of her long black trench coat stirring up graceful whirls of dust as she made her way to a secluded corner. Her raven-colored hair hung in front of her face, obscuring her features in an inky curtain. With little ceremony she sat at a small, unkempt table and rested her chin in the palm of her hand. It had been a taxing day for Selmaina, and she was in no mood for idiocy. Traveling all the way from his home was not exactly a short trip, and now she found herself all but exhausted. With a sigh she allowed her golden eyes to travel over the other patrons, assessing, and analyzing. It had become habitual to size up everyone here, and even in her state of fatigue, she couldn't stop herself from doing so.

Selmaina Kamarro stepped into the tavern, her mouth set into a thin line and her face covered with unmasked disgust. The expression did not befit her ethereal beauty and fine features, but she nonetheless made utter contempt seem attractive. Her hands hid themselves within the folds of her chestnut duster as she moved towards an unoccupied table, her grace rivaling even the best of dancers and felines. Yet something in her gait seemed unbalanced, and if one were to look closely, they would see a patch of crimson liquid soaking through the cloth of her black jeans.

This apparent injury did not seem to hinder her much as she lowered herself into the empty seat and arranged her coat in a mud-colored pool around her, but her face did twitch in the tiniest acknowledgment of pain. It passed just as quickly as it had come and she began a cool survey of the patrons surrounding her, the sharp yellow irises cold as the frozen tundra.

Selmaina Kamarro A sharp hiss exited the woman's mouth as Risk let loose with a piercing shriek. Her eyes narrowed and a single strand of inky black hair fell over her face as she whipped around to glare at the offender. "Would you please refrain from making such noises? I'm almost sure that my eardrums shattered." Selmaina's voice was soft and musical with a slight accent that hinted at British origins, but despite her pleasant vocals, the words were laced with stinging venom.

Selmaina Kamarro let out a cruel peal of laughter, the merry sound tainted by the glint of malice in her eyes. "I can see that you are crazed...or some sort of seer." Her eyebrows knitted with curiosity. "But the real question is...what do you really see? Besides that nonsense about death and destruction." One leg crossed over the other and Selmaina drew in a sharp breath as the wound on her thigh reminded the woman of its presence. Damn that accursed grandfather of hers...

Selmaina Kamarro did not seem phased by this strange outburst, and allowed her head to tilt to one side as she addressed Haickho, eyes not leaving the crazed female, "Why don't you go back with your friend and keep yourself out of business that doesn't concern you, hmmmm?" Her icy tone was enough to freeze over a lake, but it shifted to a honey-sweet murmuring as she spoke again to Risk. "Do you? And do these things trouble you?"

Selmaina Kamarro laughed, "You're right about that my insane little fela. Who should contain fire when it is the embodiment of all we know? Freedom, heat, passion...If we contain fire we contain ourselves, and we shall crumble." Another wince flashed through her eyes as a wave of pain shot through her leg. Damn damn damn. Ignoring it, she glared up at the irritating little man who tried to calm Risk, "Would you rob her of what freedom she possesses?

Selmaina Kamarro gave a low snort, "I never said you would harm her, but by 'taming' the fire you would steal away everything she has. It will not go well..." Though she appeared calm, even relaxed, she could feel the heat of her own fire beginning to build to a dangerous level, though there was no reasonable fuel for it. Something about this stranger irked her more than most, and already she could feel her irritation beginning to blossom into a deadly rage.

Selmaina Kamarro glanced at the invasive pair with raised brows, "Indeed...my dear girl you certainly don't smell of mortal, and I know that I am not one of those repulsive humans. It seems as though they are trying to elevate themselves on some kind of pedestal." She stood and strode towards where Risk huddled under the stool and crouched beside her with a graceful flourish of her trench coat. "You need not listen to these fools, if anything you should build the fire that burns inside you, until no one can stand in your way."

Selmaina Kamarro sat back on her heels, her face suddenly puzzled, "I'm not entirely sure...I think that you would be a better judge of such things than I would." As Paquosho interrupted, her eyes flashed and her brow crinkled in irritation, "Well lovely, you are quite a young pair then. I hope that you'll eventually get old enough to realize that it is rude to interrupt." Her hands dug into the floorboards, and she didn't seem to realized that her fingernails scraped up long grooves in the wood.
