Selmaina Kamarro laughed, though there was no joy in the sound, "Who was the one who barged in on our conversation in the first place?" I seem to remember having a lovely chat with this girl here before you came in and asked if you could poke about in her mind."

Selmaina Kamarro rose from her crouched position and promptly sat upon the stool that Risk was under, the tails of her trench coat forming a sort of curtain around the strange girl. She leaned down with a humorless grin, her black hair falling haphazardly around her face, "I agree most wholeheartedly. You know, for someone who appears to be spouting nonsense, you make several excellent points."

Selmaina Kamarro rocked backwards until her back touched the bar counter and her legs dangled in open air. It seemed as though this girl's energy was beginning to rub off on her. "Hmm...You know, I don't think that I ever had a heart in the first place. So I suppose I don't." Her head rested on the counter, hair spread around her in an inky pool.

Selmaina Kamarro snorted, beginning to absently study the patterns on the ceiling. "My entire bloodline is without hearts, so how could they give me something that they themselves are without. But ah well, in any case....if I ever had one then I tore it apart a long time ago."

Selmaina Kamarro Her gaze fixated on a particularly interesting scorch mark that looked a bit like a turnip as her eyes narrowed, "Hmph. I would know nothing of what humankind does, other than what I've observed in my escapades here. Unfortunately, Gambit's does not have a particularly large selection of humans and I find myself unwise of a few things."

Selmaina Kamarro A strange twisting feeling in her gut alerted Selmaina that Risk was again becoming excited, however, she did not change her attitude and studied the turnip-burn. "Mm...I don't believe that we're all the same, but I can see how one might think so." She twiddled absently with the sleeve of her coat, "And I don't think you're mad...simply...different. Perhaps even wiser than most."

Selmaina Kamarro chewed on her lip thoughtfully, feeling slightly surprised when she realized that she was actually enjoying herself, "D hmm? Well there's always Daffodil, daggers, dreary, daredevil, dam, damn...or even defecate. There's loads of D words..."

Selmaina Kamarro For the first time that evening a genuine laugh pealed from her lips, "I shall spend a good deal of time puzzling over that one. Palindromes are interesting conundrums...hmm...If a Dalmatian is born without spots, does that it is painted later on? I've always wondered how that works out..."

Selmaina Kamarro gave her vanishing figure wry grin, "They never are my dear, they never are." She returned her gaze to the ceiling and let her eyelids fall until they were half closed. She seemed at peace until a small girl wandered into the tavern, the stench of death in her arms.

Selmaina Kamarro The doors were pushed open with only the slightest creak, and the willowy, black-clad form of Selmaina slipped in amongst the other patrons. The hem of her coat fluttered softly about her ankles as she wandered towards an empty booth and sat. The woman allowed her face to drop to the floor in a seemingly submissive gesture, but the anger that burned behind her yellow gaze made the fury of a storm seem tame. It was difficult for her to remain so calm in the presence of these people, though it was unlikely that they were, indeed, people. Something about other beating hearts surrounding her sent her emotions into a whirlwind of rage and bitterness. And every conflicting thought was apparent on her face.

Selmaina Kamarro The only light that hung above Selmaina's empty corner began to swing, the bulb flickering sporadically. If one had been watching closely, they would see that the girl's index finger was twitching in time with the creaking lamp, her eyes beginning to narrow as its rhythm increased to a dangerously high speed. The moment it stopped, the bulb suddenly shattered, glass tinkling onto the floorboards and swallowing the remote corner in complete darkness. The only thing visible in the booth was a twin pair of yellow irises.
A smile spread across the woman's face as she found herself completely disguised. She may have to see the other patrons, but at least they couldn't see her.

Selmaina Kamarro The golden irises flicked towards one of the new arrivals, her pupils dilating as she glanced at Solange Kianu. For some reason Selmaina found herself focused on this seemingly insignificant girl. The corner of her mouth twitched as she suppressed a smile. It seemed as though her instincts were toying with her again, but perhaps it was for a reason.
From the darkness of her corner, the woman kept tabs on this new interest.

Selmaina Kamarro One eyebrow arched gracefully on her brow as she watched the bottle of water fly into Solange's hands. A thought flickered into her head that this might be a dangerous encounter, but that only fueled her insatiable curiosity. With a grin playing about her blood red lips, she rose to her feet and strode towards Solange, looking as though she had been birthed directly from the shadows, her entirely black garb blending flawlessly with the darkness.
Selmaina sat next to the female patron, the hem of her trenchcoat pooling around the stool in an inky-black curtain. "You look like you could use someone to talk to."

Selmaina Kamarro let out a low chuckle, her straight black hair waving as her shoulders shook. "Well I didn't exactly plan any conversational topics before I came over to say hello...but I suppose we could start with each others names." She stuck out her hand for the other girl to shake, her slim fingers laced with silvery scars, "Selmaina."

Selmaina Kamarro Her hand gently curled away, as though she was recoiling from something particularly distasteful. In truth, she was not disgusted by Solange, but she wasn't entirely sure how to answer the question. "I ah...sort of had a run-in with some particularly nasty machinery." She failed to mention that this machinery had been attached to a crazed hunter, but she decided that it was a little too early for sharing life experiences.

Selmaina Kamarro gave a shrug and toyed absently with the hem of her sleeve. "I suppose I might as well be honest with you. I'm avoiding some family that doesn't find me nearly as charming as I think myself to be." She gave a laugh in a vain attempt to keep her tone light, but the slightest hint of bitterness was still apparent.

Selmaina Kamarro smiled and waved a dismissive hand, her scars flashing in the low lamplight. "I suppose you could say that, but it is for other reasons that they find me an unsavory addition to their bloodline." She curled a strand of her raven-colored hair behind one ear and gave a small sigh. "Of course, it is unfair of me to speak ill of my entire family when it is only one side that irks me so..." The woman gnawed anxiously at her lip as she realized that her speech may prove strange for someone who looked to be a mere twenty...twenty-one at the most.

Selmaina Kamarro Her mouth opened, one of her ready-spun lies almost begging to flow from her lips, but her jaw abruptly snapped closed. Instead she gave a shrug and attempted to diffuse the situation, possibly avoid the question altogether. "What am I? Strange question...but ahm...I am a female if that's what you meant. I understand that sometimes it can be hard to tell, but I thought it might be quite obvious." She cast a pointed glance at the two small lumps at her chest and chuckled.

Selmaina Kamarro The woman's eyes lowered in embarrassment, "Oh...of-of course. I should have realized that's what you meant." A deep red flush spread to her olive-toned cheeks as she fidgeted childishly in her lap. "I am a hybrid...half vampire, half werewolf. It's terribly cliche, I know, what with all of those of the vampiric blood that wander through here. But I suppose I can't help it can I?" Her laugh came out as a strangled croak as two male faces flashed through her head, both of them twisted with anger.

Selmaina Kamarro flushed, and looked away, "Yes...he was a very good man." She paused for a moment, a look of surprise creeping over her face as she realized that a compliment had been slipped in, "I...thank you." She wasn't sure what else to say, no one really called her beautiful anymore. Not since...no, she refused to think of it. She quickly pushed away the thoughts and flashed a white-toothed smile, "Enough about me and my scarred hands, what of you? You must have a reason for coming to Gambit's?"

Selmaina Kamarro tilted her head to one side, her hair falling haphazardly into her face. "An interesting reason really...most who come here are trying to escape something. Whether it be family members who are chasing them, or other...reasons." She glanced at the other girl, studying her face for something that she might be hiding, but it seemed as though she was being quite honest.

Her mouth nearly dropped open at the suggestion, but she satisfied herself with allowing her eyebrows to raise up on her forehead. "Surely you you don't mean the wolf that I phase into? I-I'm not sure that it would be a good idea..." Her golden eyes flicked back and forth as she tried to weigh the risks with the benefit of possibly obtaining a new friend

Selmaina Kamarro lowered her head, deciding that she should at least warn this girl of the risks. "Well, I would not mind, but you should at least know that it may me life-threatening to you. Unfortunately, I may only change my form when I am under extreme emotional or physical distress, and although I have learned to change without this...I may still be dangerous as a wolf." She looked up to gauge the reation.

Selmaina Kamarro gave her a wry smile, "You underestimate me, but that's perfectly alright. I don't foresee anything going wrong...so...I suppose if you'd like to join me outside?" The woman rose from her seat, placing her feet on the floor with no sound whatsoever as she gracefully put herself in a standing position, her eyes glancing questioningly at Solange.
