The strategic jack-of-all-trades. Bomb about to blow? "Sera!" Car engine shot? "Sera!" Chased by the police? "Sera!"

Description

She stands at 5'7", but looks even taller when she's wearing heels (which she nearly always is). Her hair is made up of a thousand tiny ringlets, dirty blond strips of hair that wrap around and around, and stop two thirds of the way down her neck. She has emotion-filled brown eyes, textbook fair skin, and a British accent. Lips the colour of copper and fine, thin fingers are usually the two things that make men drool over her.

On the inside of her right wrist she has a tattoo, one that she refuses to cover up or explain the meaning of.

Personality

She's quirky and quick to get a joke, but don't let that fool you--she's as cunning as a fox and won't hesitate to get what she wants. She and the techie from her team, Arch, have something going on; the group picked her up in England when she stole Arch's car keys and wallet after he took her back to his hotel room. She doesn't trust Timothy Holt (usually just known as Holt) because of an incident that happened during a job a few years back.

Equipment

If you can name it, Sera carries it with her. From cutlery to post-it notes, her arsenal of supplies never fails.

History

NOTE: Gerald Starking, Timothy Holt, and Brice Anderson (A.K.A. the dead guy) were the original three on the team. They were together for three years before they picked up Benjamin Dobrin and Jerome Fulgard. Two years after that, the team found Archibald Nolan, and their most recent addition (only seven months after they hired Archibald) was Seraphena Bethridge. The whole team has been together for five years, but the original team was formed over ten years ago.

On Seraphena: Her life was lived as a pickpocket, a tattoo artist--anything she could do that would make her money. Until she was offered a job by the group of art thieves that seems to know how to make the perfect heist happen. Now she's whatever they need her to be; if nobody else can fit through the tight space, they send Sera in. If Holt can't think of how to do something, Sera does. She's one player you don't want on the bench.

Sera doesn't trust Holt one bit after the incident that caused them to lose Anderson.

On the Team: It's been five months since the last job went bad. They're still mourning, but Holt calls them in to do a job. Most aren't happy about it, but grudgingly, all of them comply.

So begins...

Seraphina Bethridge's Story

A female walked through the doors of the bar, her curly blonde hair bouncing in time with her confident step. She wore a brown leather biker's jacket over a white spaghetti-strap tank, and had on dark-wash denim jeans so tight that when she sat down on a stool at the bar counter, they tightened over her bent knees. She was unaccustomed to this particular bar scene, though she did recognize a few of the people from around town. A few new faces were those of Jack Thirteen and Mariotto, but this was not a surprise to her. She knew that one way or another, she would come across unfamiliar people.

Seraphina Bethridge tapped her fingers against the bar counter, eyeing up Andrey as she did so. Again, somebody new. She was waiting for even a glance from the bartender, an old man who appeared to be 'secretly' testing the brandy (though he was doing it in front of the sink and trying to pass it off as cleaning the bottle out very, very thoroughly).

Seraphina's blonde, curly hair was the first thing that could be seen as she came through the doors of Gambit's, lips slightly parted and eyes narrowed as though she was looking down at something while she walked to the row of booths. She took one, not noticing it was occupied already, and by the time she had looked up from her mutterings and realized that she'd sat directly across from Crom. "Oh, terribly sorry," she began, sounding genuinely regretful though her features didn't move, "I'd thought this booth was empty."

Though she had been about to rise and move off into the crowd, Crom's response changed Seraphina's mind. She scooted back up against the back of the seat, and pulled her calves up to sit cross-legged. He was certainly a curious looking boy--though that was to be expected in a place like Gambit's. She eyed him, her teeth gently biting her lower lip. "I'm Sera," she announced, in the same monotonous voice she'd used before.

Seraphina Bethridge sighed heavily. "There are too many lost souls here to count," she muttered, drawing one finger across the table. "And isn't it all the fault of just one girl..." she chuckled, now, her lips curling in to a small smile."...but I suppose you wouldn't know that. Not just yet." She withdrew the hand from the table, and rested it in her lap, her eyes now fixed on the little she could see of Crom's face.

Seraphina Bethridge twirled her fingers in her mass of golden hair. "There are those that get lost, and there are those that come here to be found," she said, with an old kind of knowledge in her voice. "Which are you?"

Seraphina Bethridge didn't have anything to occupy herself with, so folded her fingers together and rested her chin on them. "I was never lost. I knew where to come all along. It's a nice place, if you can get past all the weird things that happen. It's taken care of, and it's loved."

Seraphina Bethridge closed her eyes. "You don't know me well enough to tell me if I'm lost, Crom."

Seraphina Bethridge rose, nodding politely, and said "I'll take my leave, then." She stepped out of the booth, and walked out of the doors. During her stay, she had not consumed either a beverage or any item of food.
