Shariah Al-Hakim

A warrior monk who seems to be a little out of touch with the modern world.

0 · 263 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Baron von Bad

Description

(Template made by Ylanne, thank you!)

Age: 146

Sex: Male

Skin Tone: Olive

Height: 5'7

Weight: 264lbs

Appearance: His body is incredibly muscular from the many years he spent training to perfect his body. He appears to be in his late thirties to early forties. Shariah's features are well defined; his jaw is square and his nose is straight and sharp.

Eyes: Amber

Hair: Completely bald, and unable to grow hair.

Clothes Style: Shariah wears dark green monk robes and a golden sash around his waist. His shoes are simple and match the rest of his outfit. His clothes are lightweight, so that his movements remain unrestricted.

Tattoos, Piercings, Marks, Scars, etc.: On the back of his bald head is a bright gold tattoo of the sun.

Religion/History: Somewhere deep in the Atlantic ocean lies a small island untouched by time. It seems to only partially exist in the material realm, and only the truly dedicated find it. This island is named Kokorisha, on it is a sacred temple of warrior monks. The temple of Kokorisha is old and worn, yet serene. Many artifacts are missing from the temple, and the Kokorisha train day after day in order to one day retrieve their missing artifacts. The monks on the island all age much slower than normal humans, it is common for them to live centuries. This is due to the way time flows on the small island, it moves slower than the rest of the world.

Shariah was blessed at birth by this deity to be something more than just a normal monk. For many years of his abnormally long life, he was trained by the monks to be the champion of their pantheon. Being raised in a monastery has given him a rather sheltered life however, Shariah was rather unprepared when he set out into the world on his quest. The monk's quest is to recover all of the countless lost and forgotten artifacts of his temple.

The Gods of Kokorisha:

Ursa the Bear God: Ursa is a giant brown bear, the size of a planet. On his back is a massive redwood forest, forever undisturbed by harmful outside influences. Ursa eternally patrols the underworld, always vigilant and ready to defend the underworld from any and all that wish to disrupt it.

Serpentis the Snake God: Serpentis is a massive green snake, with a golden diamond pattern along his her back. She is wrapped around the pillar leading to the heavens, any soul that wishes to ascend must first pass Serpentis' judgement.

Equipment: Shariah's items were given to him by the physical manifestation of the known gods. To Shariah, they are more important than his own life. Each of his gauntlets and his bow have been blessed with special powers.

The Silver Palm of Punishment: He wears this enchanted silver gauntlet of Serpentis on his left hand. It is lightweight and has the unique ability to absorb magic or energy (Such as heat based attacks, cold based attacks, magic and electricity). It comes in contact with. It converts the absorbed energy/mana into a form of Ki energy, which appears as a faint heat-haze like shimmer around the gauntlet. It can add great amounts of power and force to any of Shariah's strikes. Though after some amount of strikes, the energy will be spent and need to be recharged. It can also be discharged in a forceful blast to push foes off their feet, or even disarm them. The energy has a range of up to 30 feet, and firing it drains away the energy.

The Iron Fist of Judgment: Significantly heavier than his other gauntlet, this enchanted cold iron gauntlet of Ursa forsakes speed for strength due to it's weight, and is nigh indestructible. In the case that it is damage however, it will repair itself at a slow but sure rate. The incredible toughness of this gauntlet allows Shariah to use it to block almost any attack, while it's much smaller than a normal shield, it's much more effective.

Abilities/Skills: He has trained in many martial arts, and is an expert at acrobatics, giving him much better balance and reflexes than your average man. The monk can do a one-handed handstand with ease, while his reflexes are fast, he cannot dodge bullets at close range. He is able to lift/press roughly 800 pounds. He can physically exert himself at his peak capacity for several hours. Shariah's body is very tough and can withstand many attacks.

So begins...

Shariah Al-Hakim Stepped into Gambit's Bar, relieved to have found a warm place to stay during this cold night. His loose fitting white gi didn't keep him very warm at night. He stood at 5'7, observing the bar and it's few patrons with his amber eyes. Shariah had been to much more crowded bars before, and being in a quiet one was a nice change. He walked over to a booth, dropping his satchel on the seat as he sat down next to it. He didn't expect find anyone to speak to tonight, but there probably was a waitress working, as long as he could get a warm drink he was fine.

Shariah Al-Hakim Looked in the direction of the youth who spoke to him. He stood up with a slight smirk on his face, he had just sat down and already somebody wanted to fight. "What makes a boy like you want to fight a man like me?" He asked calmly.

Shariah Al-Hakim Tilted his head slightly. "Po-Ke-Mon?" He said it slowly, not sure what a Pokemon was exactly. It was probably some new trend that the local youths enjoyed. "I enjoy a challenge as well, and I'm curious as to what this 'Pokemon' is..." He took a few steps away from his booth, so that had more room to maneuver. He moved his left leg back, so that his body was to the side and a smaller target. Shariah put his right hand out in front of him, and his left hand in front of his midsection, he was ready for a challenge now. "Come then, show me what this 'Pokemon' of yours can do."

Shariah Al-Hakim Smirked, it would appear that he had no weapons, but the gauntlets he wore were his weapons. He didn't expect the creature to appear in a flash of light, but that only put him off for a mere moment. Seeing the creature charge towards him, aiming to attack him with one of it's claws, he quickly stepped to the right, turning his body slightly to face his opponent. Shariah then lifted up his right leg and unleashed a swift kick, aiming to hit the creature's side, then snap his leg back to it's original position.

Shariah Al-Hakim Shifted his stance to face his opponent once again, just in time to see it's claw swinging directly at his head. Shariah ducked, narrowly avoiding the blow, if he had hair he probably would have lost some right there. He looked up, seeing that Scizor was leaning forward slightly. He extended his knees quickly, launching himself upwards and aiming an uppercut with his right hand at the creature. Doing this was risky, but his iron gauntlet packed quite a punch.

Shariah Al-Hakim Smiled, it always felt good when he scored a direct hit. Although now he couldn't throw another uppercut due to the creature being lifted up by his strike. Shariah wasn't planning on passing up this opportunity, he reached out to grab Scizor by the right ankle with his left hand, and pulled his right hand back, ready for another punch. If he successfully grabbed his opponent, he would attempt to pull it down towards the floor of the bar while aiming another uppercut at it with his right hand. If all went well he would hit it again with his iron gauntlet while pulling the creature downwards, that would surely do some damage.

Shariah Al-Hakim Was off balance and not in a good stance after his attacks. He didn't have time to dodge the creature as it was charging at him, and was hit by the tackle directly. Shariah was knocked over and winded by the force of it, now wasn't the time to counter attack. Instead he rolled to the left and picked himself up from the ground, he was quite open while he did this. He turned around to face where his opponent had flown past, returning to his normal stance, ready and on guard.

Shariah Al-Hakim Frowned as his opponent seemed to clone itself, his amber eyes darted between all of the creatures now. This was no longer a fair fight, Shariah knew he couldn't defeat all of those creatures. He got out of his stance and stood with his feet together and his arms at his side. “I know when I cannot win a fight. I surrender.” He said, then quickly bowed to his opponent.

Shariah Al-Hakim Tilted his head slightly, it was naught but a trick. He had been tricked, but he already surrendered, so he wouldn't continue fighting. "Yes... Maybe I'll see you again." He said, then walked out of the bar.

Shariah Al-Hakim Stepped into the warm bar, glad to be out of the cold night air. He blinked a few times, his eyes adjusting to the light. It wasn't very crowded in the bar tonight, it hadn't been very crowded the last time he had been here either. Maybe this wasn't a very popular tavern, but that was fine with Shariah. He took a look around the room, his gaze landing on Tahira Ali, she looked like she needed some company. He approached the woman with a small smile on his face, he spoke slowly and clearly. “Do you mind if I sit here? I could use some company tonight.”

Shariah Al-Hakim Quickly bowed, then sat down across from Tahira. “Thank you.” He said with a smile, Shariah was a friendly person, and didn't mind to make new friends. “Forgive me, I would buy you a drink but I find myself without the money to do so.” He shifted a bit awkwardly in his seat, even though he liked to make friends, he was never very good at it.

Shariah Al-Hakim Looked from Tahira to the man pointing a gun at her, then back again. “Such... Hostility.” He simply said, a little confused as to why Zippy was going to take this woman to God knows where. Shariah narrowed his eyes at the man. “Excuse me, why are you doing this?” He kept his hands on the table, at least he had his blessed gauntlets on, just in case he needed to fight.

Shariah Al-Hakim Leaned back slightly, away from the barrel of the firearm. Even though he was told to not get involved, his curiosity got the best of him. Although he was getting more and more confused by this situation. “Reward money? Why would you get a reward for taking this woman away?” He looked at Rion, and shrugged his shoulders slightly. “I have no idea, my friend.”

Shariah Al-Hakim “High-threat terrorist?” He said, more to himself than to the others around him. He looked at Zippy and frowned. “If you are trying to bring in a terrorist only for money, then you are corrupted by greed! You're no better than the terrorist.” He said this as if he was stating a fact, and that there was no possible way he could be wrong.

Shariah Al-Hakim Scowled at Zippy, obviously displeased with the threats and needless violence. The man had all but captured the woman already, but then he hit her? That wasn't right in the least bit, in Shariah's eyes. But he couldn't do nothing right now, he just sat in silence with a look of incredible displeasure on his face.

Shariah Al-Hakim Now found himself in the middle of a smokescreen, this night was getting stranger and stranger by the minute. Now he couldn't see, but he was pretty sure there wasn't a gun in his face anymore. Shariah stood up, his eyes watering from the smoke. If he could see he would do something, but acting whilst blind wasn't a very smart thing to do.

Shariah Al-Hakim A cold breeze followed the monk into the bar, the soft sound of his gi waving slightly in the wind was all the sound he made. His footsteps made no sound as he walked calmly through the bar. Listening to the various obscenities being spouted by the patrons, he sat down at the bar and looked around for the bartender. This place must not be able to afford to pay employees, since they must spend so much money on repairs... Maybe Shariah could get a job here, even if it was low paying.

Shariah Al-Hakim Stepped into the bar, this place seemed to be more dangerous than anywhere else in the city. But where there's danger, there's surely opportunity! It seemed that some fiendish beasts were attacking this place, again. Shariah hurried to the bar counter and sat down, his amber eyes gazed around. Looking for an employee or hopefully the manager. The monk was low on money, and money made the world go 'round! At least that's what many people told him, hopefully he could get a job here, maybe as a security guard...

Shariah Al-Hakim Looked over his shoulder at the Xenomorphs attacking the bar. "Does this happen every day?" He asked no one in particular, this place seemed to be quite the hive of scum and villainy. He clenched his fists together for a moment, averting his gaze from the scene of violence behind him. The monk was tired tonight, tired and poor. Fighting wasn't exactly on his mind right now.

Shariah Al-Hakim Turned his attention to Milo, a frown on his face. “No thank you, I'm a bit short on money right now anyway. I wanted to know if you're hiring here, as you seem to have a...” He looked over his shoulder once more, at the violence and chaos of the bar. “A bit of a problem handling things here, no offense.” He chuckled nervously, locking his amber eyes onto Milo again. “Are you perhaps interested in hiring a uh, what's it called... A bouncer?”
