Description
Shawn "Serenity" Makon, Born of Amelia Makon and Thomas "Crucible" Makon. Member of an Ancient order known as the Keepers of Legends, a group dedicated to the recording, storing, and safe keeping of every heroic deed, epic quest, and battle for good there has ever been, and will ever be. The origination of this group is unknown, and it encompasses many many difference species through many different worlds, and is found in every dimension, reality, and universe known. Some theories as to their origination include being started by the creator(s) of all existence for the express purpose of maintaining a record of good deeds. A favored belief states that their Deity, known only as the "First", set their rules and enlisted their first members as a last will and testament. It is important to note that the Keepers do not seem to care how they were made, despite their determination to record history they believe that "The keepers are no the heroes, we are simply the ones to write down their stories."
Shawn was only seven when he passed the Keepers test of Dedication, and has since risen through the ranks. His aspiration was at first seen as suspicious and threatening by a few, but it has since been proven that his only interest is the legends and stories the order is tasked with keeping. He was eighteen when he read completely through every keeper library on his home world. This amazing feat earned him the honored title of "Serenity", Which was the name of a Hero child who believed that learning was the most important part of life. We was twenty years old when he earned the rank of Seeker, and set out to find new legends and stories, and especially heroes. The Seekers were tasked with finding new stories and legends to add to the tomes, but above all else they were meant to find people with the potential to become new Heroes, and to follow them in their journey and record their stories.
Shawn seems unarmed and helpless at all times, but this is not true. Though he has no weapons, hidden or otherwise, nor special powers or skill with magic, he has an ability all keepers have. Called "The Telling" by the order, it is the power to bring forth heroes and powers of legend and myth to fight off the dangers the Seeker might face. This is a power that all Keepers rank Seeker and above have, effectively making their strong holds the most well defended of all: None have ever Taken a Keeper Fortress, for to do so they would have to overcome all the greatest heroes and legends, which may include entire armies of mythical soldiers and beasts.
Another Ability Shawn has, unique to him that many keepers hold him in high regard for is something he refers to as "The Guiding", in which he becomes a vessel for the spirit of legend, transforming into one of his favorite legends. He rarely uses this ability unless it is absolutely necessary. This power has many of the Keepers believing he is the one mentioned by their oldest tome in it's presetting: "And one day a keeper of legends shall hold within him the spirit of both Legend and Adventure, and shall greatly enlighten our work, for those that shall not understand shall need only to ask him and the hero they seek shall answer their words."
Shawn is easily distracted by anything that isn't a story, whether it's about heroes or otherwise. But when your telling a story he seems to drink in every word, thriving off details about extravagant battles and epic journeys. In a fight he's just about useless, getting in the way more than anything. Despite that, he has no trouble making friends, and many people who have met him have the same was of describing him. "A child who makes you feel needed, who makes you want to be his hero". When he and those who stand with him face seemingly impossible odds, he has no qualm using his power to protect those he cares about, and because he knows of so many legends and heroes, his power can be quite formidable indeed.
Shawn knows just about every story there is, and is determined to learn everything about the ones he doesn't know. But where others might focus on the danger and the excitement, he focuses on the inner guidance, that which made the hero make the decisions he makes. Shawns Favorite Hero has in influences his behavior towards others. And like him, Shawn doesn't care what the circumstances are, you don't need a reason to help someone.
So begins...
A young man with black hair walks down the central avenue of Wing city's Main Street, a wide eyed, open mouthed smile on his face, the look of a child who's never seen such sights before. He stumbles forward, rotating and laughing as each new thing catches his eye.
Seeming to speak to himself, the boy says aloud "I'm finally here! And what a sight it is! Wing city, home to infamous and famous legends alike. I cannot wait to see what amazing people this place is home to!"
Gabriel Ereb, aboard a private jet, skimmed through several files on his tablet. There were numerous schematics depicting everything from weapons to spaceship parts.
Meteor zoomed high in the atmosphere above
“
I'm going check that forest
”
Linus Trucidabunt hopped casually off of the train when it pulled into the far busier station just outside of Wing City' Eastern Gates.
He signalled for Carmen to stay close, ignoring the sound of the city beyond the great gate as he prepared the ultimate beeline escape.
Carmen Dellevon followed Linus, reaching for his hand when an especially large ship took to the atmosphere above from within the city. That must be the spaceport.
Linus Trucidabunt surprised himself when he grabbed Carmen's hand back.
