Personality
Personality: Shizuma is a woman with a rather serious nature, rarely being able to tell if people are joking or not. Shizuma rarely displays her affection for others publicly. She is strong willed and cunning. Shizuma has a deep, unwavering pride in her heritage, often telling stories of her people to others in order to teach a lesson.

History
History: Shizuma Skyes was born into a proud warrior clan known as the Skyes Clan. She was raised to be a warrior, and grew up on ancient stories of her clan. When Shizuma was thirteen, she was given the tribal tattoo on her left arm. The tattoo is a symbol of her completion of warrior training, as well as a mark of wisdom and knowledge. For the many years that followed, Shizuma grew to be a strong warrior, fighting off mythical creatures and rival tribes who tried to destroy her people. However, the day of destruction came that even Shizuma could not prevent. Shizuma was outside of her village, along with a small party of hunters, when their clan came under attack. By the time the hunting party made it back to the village, most of the villagers had been slaughtered. Against all odds, Shizuma and her party fought to protect what little was left of their civilization. In the end, only Shizuma was left alive.

Shizuma Skyes walked among the trees of the dark woods, wondering about without fear. Her dark hair was a mess, with one braid on her left side behind her ear. She wore a blue sari that wrapped around her chest and waist. She wore a black tank top under her wrap, and a belt around her waist that carried animal pelts from recent kills. She wore tall sandals made of animal hide. She carried a large red spear on her back, making her look like a striking warrior.
Shizuma Skyes could hear something coming toward her, making her turn swiftly. She took the spear from her back, holding it in her left hand. She was ready for an attack. She looked down the path, seeing something coming her way. She'd never seen a creature such as this before. It was almost like a snake, but the upper half was that of a human man. "Hello?" she called, unsure of what was coming her way.
Shizuma Skyes had her fingers wrapped tightly around her spear, ready to pierce the dragon's heart as it approached her. She saw the fresh kill in its coils, making her doubt that its plan was to kill and eat her. Nevertheless, she wasn't about to let her guard down. Not around such a creature. She'd heard legends of dragons and their cunning trickery.
"Ko ste vi? Šta želite?" she said in her native tongue. She, however, caught herself before she could continue her speech. She quickly switched into a more common dialect, knowing that this creature would not speak Skyes. "Identify yourself." she said sternly. Her eyes were fierce, the color greatly mirroring that of harsh storm clouds.

Shizuma Skyes stared at this creature for a moment before simply saying, "We shall see." She lowered her spear, holding it in front of her, down by her waist with both hands. She took a deep breath, closing her stormy eyes. She let out her breath slowly, whispering some sort of call or chant in her language. She looked up at the sky, her eyes lightening to a misty silver. She spoke to the sky it seemed, "I shall forever trust your judgement." She returned her spear to its rightful place on her back, looking back to the creature before her. "You speak the truth it seems. Iratze has spoken, forbidding me to take your life."
Shizuma Skyes "The direct flames are the cause of that." she stated, looking at the nearly charred meat. A whole venison leg should be slow cooked on a spit. She held her hand up, silently refusing the offer of food. She looked at the dragon with great surprise as he asked her of Iratze. "The legends say dragons are the most knowledgeable of all creatures, yet you do not know the simplest of things." she said, almost bewildered. "The humans of this world worship many gods and idols, for what reason I am not sure. There is but one deity in the grand scheme of this world, and that is Iratze. He is the creator, the punisher, the keeper of the dead, the master of all that is anything and everything."
Shizuma Skyes nodded in response to his explanation of dragon deities. It was quite common for her god to be unheard of. No human but she carried the knowledge of the almighty being that gave her life. She clan was the only to believe in him, and she was the last of her people. "It is of no offense to me that your beliefs are contrary to my own. Freedom of thought is a blessed gift given to all creatures." She explained, showing no hostility toward him anymore.
Shizuma Skyes thought for a moment before answering him, not minding the lack of manners. They were something that the Skyes can found rather trivial. "I am a wanderer." she simply said. There was a flash of sorrow in her eyes as a memory lashed out at her conscious. She quickly withdrew the emotion, composing herself quiet easily and quickly. "There is nothing that binds me to a solitary place."
Shizuma Skyes she put a closed fist over her heart before nodding her head, this being the respectful introductory behavior of her people. "Shizuma of the Skyes clan." she said firmly. She raised her head, saying, "It is an honor Fafnir Tolmach, Keeper of Tomes."
Shizuma Skyes "It is in our nature as humans to live together I suppose." Shizuma said after a moment of thought. "Most humans gather in larger civilizations. Clans, however, are usually of lesser numbers. People with the same goals, beliefs, and even the same blood form clans." Shizuma paused for a moment, swallowing her emotion as she spoke so that he would not hear her sadness. "The Skyes clan was a group of strong warriors and protectors of the great balance. It was the duty placed upon us by Iratze. Blood relation was trivial to us. All were children of Iratze, making us all brothers and sisters."
Shizuma Skyes nodded, choking down her wish to feel sorrow for her fallen brothers and sisters. "I am the last." she said simply, her voice nearly drained of the emptiness she felt. "Do not think that I am incapable of speaking of my past. I am not weak. I can endure my memories if you wish to listen." She stated, looking very seriously at him.
Shizuma Skyes "My joy was taken to the next realm the day the earth feasted on the spilled blood of my clan." she said solemnly. She never did show an expression of happiness, leaving apathy, anger, and sorrow behind. "What is it that you wish to know?" she asked, crossing her legs and taking a seat on the ground. She set her spear beside her, within reach if she needed it in a pinch.
looked at the dragon quizzically. "You wish to know about me?" she asked. "Very well. Contrary to most humans, I'm going to skip the majority of childhood, being that it has little significance to my people. Children are left to do as they please until they are of age to begin training. Due to my early development, I was let into warrior training before many of the others of my age. My instructors claimed that I was a natural fighter, a born protector. Our shaman believed that I was destined to be a strong mother and nurturer. I suppose that is something I will never know. I was granted rebirth as a warrior very early in life." she gestured to the tattoo on her shoulder. "That is the mark of a Skyes warrior."
Shizuma Skyes "I believe you are wrong." she said, shaking her head. "I had not yet chosen a companion when the end came for my people." She stopped for a moment before she went on. "The end, it came far too quickly. It was...sudden. There was a pack of beings that looked much like we did. They walked like humans, spoke like we did, but were animals on the inside. I had never encountered demons that took on human forms before. I learned my lesson. They were let into the village as guests while I was away." she paused, biting her lip. "I returned to my village only to watch those monsters slaughter my people."
Shizuma Skyes "You..don't understand." she said, trying to keep her cool. "There is no going back. No rebuilding. Those of the Skyes clan are not born or recruited. They are chosen. Iratze chose very few humans to carry out his work. I have little hope that a companion will be chosen for me. It is not his will."
looked curiously at this stranger. "...perhaps." she said finally. She was truly thinking about what he was saying to her. She did not feel that it was her destiny to rebuild her clan. If her god wished to have his people together, he would not have destroyed them. "You seem very wise for someone that looks as young as you."
Shizuma Skyes thought on what he said for a long moment. Thousands of years was truly a long time. It was hard for her to believe that there were people back then. Simple years seemed so far away to her. The last five years have felt like centuries to her, yet they probably didn't compare to Fafnir's experience. "And yet you live alone?" she asked, puzzled by that fact. How could one live so long, yet so alone? "You have..no one to protect? No companion? It is a right for every creature to be part of a pair." she said.
"Then how do dragons survive?" she asked, confused by what he said in the beginning. "I mean, how does the population of your species thrive if you are not together?" she asked, feeling a bit awkward for asking. She didn't mean to get into a possibly taboo topic, but her curiosity was driving her thoughts. "How are you certain you will find a mate if your kind avoid each other?"
"So you're going to try to breed with another species?" she asked. "Isn't that a bit dangerous? Especially for the female." She took a moment to think. "It would be like the time my brother's hunting dog was mated with a lone dire wolf. The poor girl was far too small to carry such large wolf pups to term."
Shizuma Skyes nodded, wrapping her mind around everything she was being told. It was quite a bit to take in at once. She said there in silence for a moment before she spoke. "That is generally how it is meant to be. the two halves of nature come together harmoniously, then create the next generation of life. It doesn't always happen that way. In my travels I have seen children with only one parent, which would only be acceptable in my village if the other parent was deceased."
Shizuma Skyes "They are at first." she said simply. "As young children, we learn to keep our balance. The key is to distribute our body weight evenly on each side. It is said that our ancestors learned how to walk from the animals of the forest." she said. "It is a shame that we were not given four legs, like the deer and the wolf. They are much faster than we are."
