Abilities: Telekinesis, telepathy, fast healing, increased reflexes, high endurance, and increased speed and agility.

In the inner reaches of the Andromeda Galaxy, at the edge of an asteroid field that spanned several AU, lay a battlegroup of the nearby UDW nation. One of its massive hypercruisers hung in the center, its flanking escorts of a pair of hypercruisers, carriers and their paired cruisers, battleships, destroyers, frigates, and corvettes slowly swarmed about the titanic ship. The Battlegroup Deep Dragon simply waited for the time being.

Aboard, however, a particular scene was unfolding. The initiation of a new member of the secretive Midnight Thirteen, an entire section of suites, meeting rooms, and a marshaling hall dedicated to the purpose. At the head of the meeting room to which the newest member of his Tier was to arrive to, lay the master of the Fourth Tier, Jonathan Killian.

Dressed in an impeccable business suit, today hued in black, the master assassin sat at the head of the table. Before him lay his tools of the trade, a multitude of wicked knives spread out in their arrangements. On the bridge of his nose rested his Comglasses, lights playing across their inner surfaces as he perused reports as he waited for his newest member to approach on her summons.

Shryna looked in the mirror applying her usual black eye liner, dark blue shadow effect eye shadow and clear lip gloss as she got ready to go meet her superior in the marshal hall. She pulled on a pair of long black flare leg slacks and a black tank spaghetti strap tank top with a ghostly grey skull on the front and the phrase “Blades sing for your death” on the back of the shirt in the same ghostly grey color. She pulled on a pair of inch heel black suede cowboy boots and tugged the flare pant leg over them. Then she pulled her hair back in a low ponytail and tied it back with a long black ribbon that danced after the knot was made down to her hips. Her bangs cascaded down next to her face and came to rest just above her tank top’s collar which was an odd contrast to her pale ivory skin. She pulled on her Comglasses which were fashioned like a pair of dark blue small sunglasses with a black tint on the glass. She donned a small silver chain that donned a small celestite crystal in the shape of a skull that dangled just between her collar bones. The last thing she grabbed was her silver hoop earrings and put them on. The pieces completed her traditional casual wear. She wasn’t trying to go formal today; she just didn’t feel up to it. She hoped her superior didn’t mind, either way, she could do any work outs in her current gear any way since she always kept her gear minimal so that her work was easily executed even in casual gear if the need arise.

She looked to the Comglasses and flicked her attention through menus until she came to a blueprint layout so she could find her way to the marshal hall. She put that to the side after notating the turns and turned on some metal music from a different menu. She nodded slightly as she came to a song she liked, then left her room and ventured through the ship. She walked with a sense of strong determination normally, but today she walked casually. She came to the door of the marshal hall and flicked the music to silence from a few menu options. A soft smirk played on her glossy pale rose lips. She used a little of her telekinetic ability and opened the door slowly and walked in, using her energy to close it softly behind her.

“Shryna Lothiza, Reporting as summoned sir.” She said softly as she came to the chair opposite of the superior, her voice held a soft melodious nature that didn’t fit an assassin.

She saluted him and then stood at ease awaiting instruction on whether she should be seated or come closer.

"Please be seated." Jonathan had an Irish accent, a hint of old Dublin that had survived the years. Of course, now the Irish were the Pittites, and they enjoyed their relative freedom on the hiveworld. Gesturing with one slender fingered hand, he leaned back in his seat, quirking a slight smile as he took in Shryna's attire.

"Welcome to the Midnight Thirteen, Ms. Shryna. And you may dispense with the military formalities with myself, those work best with those of the Navy and Army." His piercing amethyst eyes watched her over the rims of his own glasses, his hands settling together fingertips to fingertips on the table before him. "So, we come to this. The meeting of master and apprentice within the Fourth Tier. Your choices of style and level of skill rank you highly above your peers, Shryna. Tell me, why did you choose to approach and join the ranks of Midnight."

The air that he had so carefully cultivated was that of a gentleman. Of a killer's nature, there wasn't a trace, despite the evidence lain on the table in exquisite detail. His was simply a presence, one that was palpable in the tingling of the hairs on the back of a neck, but in an instant he could simply vanish. His record, plain for Midnight operatives of any level to see, was simply appalling. Nearly 25,000 kills to his name, with an unbroken streak of over 6000 completed missions.

But looking at him in this room, at this moment, one might not even guess it.

“Thank you.” She stated softly as she took her seat and half lounged back into the seat since he seemed to prefer to keep it casual.

She looked at him behind her Comglasses seemingly cool to appearance, but in fact she had tensed at his question. She had never really given any thought to why
she just did. She really didn’t know anything of her parents; she had been removed during some raid when she was five. Since then she had been trained by her group that she was forcefully accepted in. Fighting was honestly all she knew other than her music which kept her sanity at hand. The music kept the more...undesired memories away from her. She eased herself back a little more as she tried to think of an answer to give him that wouldn’t sound
pathetic in her mind. She remained quiet, but composed in her appearance the whole time.

Finally after some time, she closed her eyes and pushed the Comglasses up onto her head, pushing her bangs partially back. A soft smirk danced on her lips as she opened her ice blue with their sunkist of translucent amethyst around the pupil. The look she gave informed her superior within that gaze that she had seen many things and done much more to get where she was today.

“Honestly sir, I never gave it much thought. I just naturally went for what I was good at. Other than my music
death, violence, pain, and murder is all I have really known since I was young. I just kept with it. Friends or lovers have never danced in circles long with me. They always fled, said I was too cold for ‘normal’ society.” As she spoke a memory of her initiation to what pain felt like from one of her instructors flashed in her mind causing her eyes to darker to a greyer icy blue for merely a few moments before she mental pushed the memory away.

Her tone had stressed the word ‘normal’ for a moment before proceeding with her demeanor. She stared with an icy stare that said she wasn’t really afraid of anything. Her only true fear came from lack of control and her past. Those were her secret; she never revealed her fears to anyone. She waited in silence for the next question or action to surface.

"I see." Jonathan leaned back in his seat. "Stand up, Stryna."

He rose as well, one hand snaring a long, viscous looking blade from the table. His movements were fluid, economic. Never trading one ounce of full mobility, and he spun the knife in hand with the skill of a long master. A few moments is all it took to reach her side.

"Take one knee, if you will." His expression guarded and closed, the master assassin secretly smiled. It was the part of initiation of Midnight's that such initiates were never told of, one that was kept such secret as one of the true, final tests.

And it was rather enjoyable on the initiator's part.

Shryna stood leaving her Comglasses on as she watched his movements. She mentally tensed, prepared to defend herself telekineticly if need be. Her movement just as fluid as his as she side stepped the chair. She saw him grab the long blade and wondered to herself if it was a test to defend herself. She cursed mentally for not bringing anything with her than herself. The table was full of weapons and before she took a knee she looked to the table noting mentally the weaponry upon it in case she needed to suddenly use telekinesis to summon one to her.

She slowly took a knee. She wasn't sure how well she trusted him let alone any organization after what she had been through as a youth. She knelt there watching him with a note of danger in her eyes forewarning that if he tried anything she wasn't willing to handle he would taste her own skills against him. Her eyes casting a rather cloudy icy blue around the amethyst in her eyes as she watched him. She was mentally ready to defend herself. Her muscles betrayed her and tensed with him so close to her, showing her lack of trust for any person. But she waited on one knee obediently, waiting for the next scenario to play out. She could only wonder as she waited for the next movement on whether this would be a deadly dance that played next or just another test of her abilities.

Jonathan smiled at the signs of a final test passed. Midnights, even when mortally wounded, carried on. Death was to be embraced and pushed aside, and at all else? You took them with you.

From death we live. From death we take. Into death we give.

"So, Shryna, for your first assignment, I'm dispatching you for freelance onto the planet of Terra." The Fourth Tier master set aside the false blade, detaching it from his sleeve as his eyes played over his Comglass, signalling the dump of intel gathered to date to the woman's own system. Still, parts of the briefing were worth mentioning aloud. "Fair warning ahead of time, unlike back home in the Pitt, or even the Umbral Sector in general, Terra is home to a force known as magic. As best as we've been able to figure, it is an energy force of its own capable of drastically altering reality for various purposes, which is why I'm giving you a few specific pieces of equipment."

Fingers passing over a holographic display set over the table revolved a section of the surface, bringing three hidden items to into view. The first was a small, circular device that clipped to the belt, the second was a wrist device, and the third was an update node for her Comglass set. "The first of these is an anti-magic field generator, of the portable size. After the Midnight update hack to your Comglass, you'll be able to generate a personal field for yourself that should cancel most of these spells, as they call them, that come within a few feet of you. The second of these is a energy scanner, since some of the denizens of Terra won't register to standard scanning technologies. It's been tuned for these magical energies, as well as a few other unnatural elements that you may encounter. It acts like a 360 degree field that marks the location of these contacts, with a maximum range of about 100 feet. You'll be able to scale it down if you require such, or set it to automatically do so."

Picking up the second device, he turned it over, revealing a secondary feature of a trio of small tubes, and on the band, a pair of slender cases. "Like all Midnight toys, you get a special with this one. Subsonic needle thrower, magnetically projected, and the standard 2 reloads, all of which are primed with dried, moisture activate poison. Reusable projectiles, though you'll need to replace the poison yourself."

"Any final questions, Midnight Lothiza?"

She gave Jonathan an odd look at his orders. Freelance? She wondered to herself. She watched him go over the equipment upgrades for the mission and packed them accordingly to her person. She was a bit uneasy about going freelance. She had never done freelance. Upon hearing him ask if she had final questions, on first thought she figured to go at it with none. Then she reconfigured, sighing in annoyance at herself for having to question her first assignment.

"Just two sir. I have never been freelance, so I am not sure what exactly you are requesting me to do sir? Am I to find contracts on my own and complete them?" She paused a moment to let the question soak in, then continued. "And will I be provided transport to this...Terra? Or is this something I must also do on my own?" She stood patiently waiting for his response, though she was aggravated with herself for questioning him so quickly...but in her mind, she would rather question and follow orders accordingly then do something wrong and become the next contract on their list.

Eldrylth felt the ripple in her consciousnesses as Myrkul began emigration from Genesis. Even she found the plane a bland if pleasant void. Utterly pure and untouchable it was a pretty stone unable to grow. Though particular things in reality of immense intensity shook the fabric of the immaterium. Things that should not persist for so long lest it degenerate the basal layers of reality. Where reality would open a bleeding sore just to inhibit such a thing to ever be. The dragon curled about her project of studying the Eldar gate slowly looked to the distant field where such a ripples washed over her. The gate would have to wait. A focus to open pinpoints of psychoportation locus she called her servitors back. The coiled lesser of myrkul elongated as the transection drive buried with her form alit to slip between reality.

A black lumpy car-sized rock drifts through the Andromeda Galaxy, coming from somewhere within the Local Group, having arrived from Space after travelling along a perfectly straight course for over a century. The rock was pitch black, oddly shaped, having a glassy black shiny surface which looked similar to obsidian. The object was spinning slowly along a slightly curved axis, appearing like a large space rock, or space debri of some kind. The object gave off no radio signals, no heat signatures, no life signals, and no signs of intelligence. It appeared to be just a floating rock coursing through outer space. The object had originated from the uncharted void in region CF3 in the middle of absolutely nowhere, before drifting slowly through Gehenna over the Hall of Riots, through the Multiverse into charted Space, and eventually heading towards the Local Group into the Andromeda Galaxy, never speeding up or slowing down, and never once turning or changing course. It had taken over a century for the small black object to travel this far as it drifted slowly through the galaxy on its seemingly timeless voyage, heading into a region of Taiyou Space as it left the area, continuing it's journey.
