There was something unsettling being carried in the air that whispered between the trees.

He perched atop a branch, surveying the ground life flitting around the Glen. Bugs and rodents, a snake over there, all part of the natural way of the forest. Green emeralds peeked through the thick branches of a tree on the edge of the clearing, and yet no creatures noticed the oddity. It was like any other time for Sigungala, but it was not. He closed his eyes and breathed in the glen, still as a statue.

What was that?
His eyes flicked open, movement across the Glen. He shrank back, recoiling slightly from the strange presence, reaching with long, muscular fingers for his weapon.

Sigungala watched with bright eyes as a woman bathed in moonlight stepped into the sun. She was strikingly beautiful, yes. He couldn't help but notice her ailment, and felt a ping of emotion. She was injured, and by the looks of her not in the best of sorts.

She descended, kneeling among the flowers, and Sigungala climbed forward on the branch. He couldn't help but be insanely curious as to what this creature was doing here? Shifting, he peered through the branches, observing her.

An elf! Relief washed through him, and he closed his eyes and breathed again. Gripping hold of the tree, he shifted his weight onto his arms, swinging his legs out from under him. With a a quick cat-like jump, he landed quietly on all fours in the grass and flowers.

"Why, hello there," he popped his head up over the grass, green eyes fixated on the other elf.

The blade in her lap caught his attention, how could it not, but she didn't seem to be much of a threat. Her eyes were wide, and his presence seemed to unnerve her. Hmm..

A smile pulled at the corner of his mouth, "As did I."
Sigungala graciously pulled himself to a stand, bowing his head ever the slightest to the elf before him.

He watched her, bemused by her amusement. The flower practically cooed at her touch.

"Yes," he whispered his response, supposing that tree singing was a beautiful talent. Again he closed his eyes, breathing, feeling the positive energy practically bloom around them. He flicked them back open as he exhaled, and allowed his eyes to travel up her arm and into her eyes.

She blushed, recoiled, and made a face. His eyes flew to her arm and shoulder, which seemed to be in pain. Frowning, he lowered his hand back to the earth, letting the buttercup climb back off of his finger and settle into the ground. Worry furrowed on his brow.

"What ails you?" He softly inquired, trying to catch her eyes while twirling a hand through the blades of grass.

His heart ached as he listened to her tale, his eyes following her movements. Black magic, he felt his eyes narrow and his muscles stiffen at the mention of the craft. He did not like creatures that dabbled with that type of magic, and could not help but dart cautious looks towards her shoulder. A wound that cannot be cured by magic? The thought of ever acquiring such a wound made him feel a bit sick.

His eyes flashed back up to her, Lumierre, what a pretty name! He studied her features as she spoke to him, and had to hold back a scoff as she compared herself to humans. Humans! Why a being such as herself would ever-! But no matter. He returned her smile,
"Sigungala," he pronounced carefully, motioning towards the trees behind him, "Wood elf."

Sigungala smiled, she still had elven manners, watching as her hair fell. He wondered how he could have not stumbled across her ever before, and smirked as he remembered.

"No, not too far from home," He looked her in the eyes, shifting the slightest bit closer, "I reside just on the other side of this forest, and honestly don't frequent this glen all too often..." He trailed off, having had heard something. It sounded like a voice, over there. Sigungala froze, whipping his head to face the direction of the noise. In one fluid movement, he shifted to the balls of his feet, balancing in a low crouch. He hovered closer to the injured elf Lumierre, knowing that evil may be pursuing her.

"No," he whispered, lowering back to his knees, "I am not one to abandon." He followed the girl with his eyes as she approached, a human, and what was she doing?

His jaw dropped, but he picked it back up immediately. She was picking flowers, picking them! The girl approached, and his face remained stony. She curtsied, and Sigungala raised his nose ever the slightest bit. Flower picker, he thought to himself, nodding politely in response. The girl seemed captivated by Lumierre's beauty, as any human would be. He sighed, humans. He could never understand their whimsical destruction.

He plastered a pained smile onto his face, trying to keep a friendly demeanor, as he angled his greener than the grass eyes up at the young human. Young human, he reminded himself, young human.

Sigungala rose to a stand with Lumierre, standing just a wee bit taller than her. He stood strong and dignified, alongside the lunar elf.

Sigungala looked from the scared girl to the fallen basket. The flowers still had life left in them, barely. The girl spoke with fear in her voice, and he deflated his demeanor. Surely this girl meant no harm, even if she was a flower picker. His eyes followed Lumierre as she gathered the flowers and re basketed them, despite her ailment. He couldn't help but smile at the kind gesture.

He nodded along with Lumierre, this place really was not the place for a child. He still looked at the basket of flowers, and motioned for it to be handed to him with a kind expression.

He cocked an eyebrow at the peculiar actions of the human, but thought nothing of it as he let the basket fall to his elbow, and plucked out the floral wreaths. The petals shivered with death in his hand, and he frowned, kneeling to the ground. There he placed the flowers, and leaned in to them. With his face not a grass blade's width away, he breathed onto the flowers, the wisp of a melody carrying on his voice. The flowers fluttered in his exhale, their stems growing roots and winding into the earth. He continued to sing, softly, under his breath for a moment or two longer, until the flowers had fully regenerated. Placing his palm in the center of the flower ring, Sigungala began to sing. The ring of flowers danced, at first very faintly, then with more gusto, picking up their roots and hugging one another. The ring crept onto his hand, and he removed it from the earth, the ring of flowers still wiggling. They jiggled around his wrist, dancing in an infinity loop. Their roots had intertwined, and more flowers began to blossom from the ring.

He smiled, looking up towards the girl who was hiding behind a tree.
"Don't fear," he said, as the flowers grew still in his hand. He grasped the ring with both hands, displaying it between his fingers. It pulsed with life.

Frozen, silent, listening. He could practically feel the evil in the air. Crouching low by the base of a tree, his mind unsettled, Sigungala opened his ears and heart to the nature around him. He closed his eyes, and breathed in deep, blending in with the tree behind him.

Woosh!

His eyes flew open, and something silver flit out of the corner of his vision. Like a flash, he was to his feet, climbing through the branches of the trees. He kept pace with her, following along from high in the treetops, and halted as she exploded into the clearing. He watched her for a moment longer, the familiar prick of trouble pulling at his ears.

Being careful to stay hidden, he climbed down from the tree. Melting in with the shadows of the forest, he breathed in the scene, and almost choked on it. Something was up, he thought to himself, drawing his weapon from his back and stepping into the clearing.

He winced as she fell, hesitating, debating whether or not to rush forth and help, or hang back and watch. She struggled to stand, and he stifled a small cry of outrage. Fingers tightening around the spear handle of his blade, Sigungala crouched low to the ground, keeping himself hidden by the tall grass. Slowly he crept towards her, eyes locked on her small frame and weapon held parallel to the ground.

A high pitched laugh pierced his ears, and he halted at the sound of it. In another four steps he would be by her side, but instead he remained motionless and hidden by the grass. A shudder ran the length of his spine as the creature spoke. He pressed his empty palm to the ground, and focused his energy. He could feel the exact location of the evil pursuer, and didn't like how close it was.

Listening in on the exchange, sickness grew in his gut. He did not like the presence that was advancing on Lumierre, and had to use all of his willpower to remain silent when the evil was revealed to be the elf's mother. Carefully, he shifted himself so he could peer over the grasses at her.

There it, she, stood. Silver haired just like her daughter, but with a covered eye. She was not nearly as beautiful, Sigungala thought to himself, most likely because of her evil practices. His vision darkened, and rage boiled inside of him. This woman radiated destruction.

Closing his eyes, he channeled a thought into the Earth beneath his hand. He listened carefully for the sound, and when he heard it his eyes flew open. Out of sight, just beyond the clearing, a stag and four squirrels sat silently in wait for Sigungala's next order.

But the elf remained still, hidden in the grass, muscles tensed, gripping his weapon and ready to pounce. There was no need to strike...yet...

He couldn't believe his ears. This woman must be mad. All of those crimes were punishable by death in most civilizations, this Sigungala knew, and could not believe someone, an elf, would condemn her own daughter. The woman was coming closer to Lumierre, there was no mistaking what he had to do.

Suddenly, a large stag burst into the clearing, a mere ten feet from the evil Queen. His antlers spanned three feet at least, his muscles rippling underneath his silken coat. Snorting, he bobbed his head towards the Queen, stamping at the earth with warning. The four squirrels stealthily scurried through the grass, keeping their tails and ears low. They hovered around Lumierre, prepared to bite ankles at the drop of a hat.

Sigungala himself rose from the grass, chest puffed and glowering. Whipping his blade up to it's full height, he shifted into a defensive almost crouch, stepping so he was almost between Lumierre and the Queen.

"Your negativity is not welcome within the sanctuary of this wooded area," He firmly projected towards her, asserting his dominance over the glen even though he was a bit nervous. It wasn't all too often he had to defend, staying mostly in peaceful territories. The stag accented the elf's statement with a huff, giving him a surge of confidence. Sigungala prepared to strike.

The trees around the glen rustled, anticipating action and, of course, injury.

He chose to ignore Lumierre's plea to leave, instead taking a step closer to her.

"Your laws are of no concern to the Wood elves," He retorted, angling his weapon back in the slightest for better momentum. When he did strike, it would be fierce. "It is my duty to protect this wood, including it's inhabitants," he nodded towards Lumierre, "regardless of any condemning not affiliated with these here trees." He pronounced the words carefully, accenting them as politely as possible, even though he still stood battle ready. The stag took a step forth, and Sigungala could just make out the antlers of another behind him. It seemed that the animals of the forest weren't keen on this woman's presence on their own.

"I advise leave on peaceful terms, while that opportunity still exists," he warned with a song in his voice, green eyes glued to the Queen. The plant life in the clearing seemed to energize at the sound of his voice, and if one listened closely enough they could hear the trees begging for the Queen's leave.

Sigungala caught distressed Lumierre's look, and tried his best to return it with a sure look. He watched in horror as the elf woman before him roared, morphing into a large dragon! This was not good, he thought to himself, and signaled for the squirrels to take action. The four of them scurried to the base of the dragon lady as she hissed warning at Sigungala. His hair fluttered back from the dragon's words, and he coolly calculated while she inhaled.

Do you really wish to start a war?
Sigungala called up to the angered dragon. This woman appeared to not know the forest as well as she might have liked to think she did. Obviously unaware, she was, of the generously sized colony of elves that would also be torched alongside the two of them. A stag galloped to stand next to Lumierre and Sigungala, while the squirrels continued to dance around the dragon's feet.

Do you really wish to offend your race in such a manner
? He taunted the old elf. He knew that going against elven kind, as an elf, is the biggest crime on can commit. Unless, of course, you are ridding the earth of Dark elves, but that was neither here nor there in this situation.

The stag nudged at Lumierre with his nose, gently leaning into her with his side. He looked up at the lunar elf with large, beautiful eyes, begging her to climb onto his back.

Sigungala simply stared up at the dragon, preparing his wits. He noted, with slight dread, that his weapon would be of little to no use to him anymore. Dropping it, he turned to make sure that the Lumierre was atop the stag.
"I see," he quietly whispered back to her, turning his attention back to the dragon who's stomach was gurgling with... He recognized that sound. For a moment he focused, harnessing all of the energy that he could, and when the bright flash of the flame ball overtook his vision, Sigungala whipped his arm in a horizontal arc, sending a mighty gust of air towards the fireball. The two elements collided in the air, and time seemed to stop for a second.
The Stag picked up is front two hooves and turned towards the edge of the clearing, as Sigungala himself surged away from the epic air and fire conundrum.

Jumping up into a tree, he kept pace with the stag by weaving through the branches of the forest. He did his best to ignore the situation at hand and to simply press on. Stopping would only get them toasted now.

The forest hid them as they fled, darting this way and that, through the brush and trees, deeper and deeper into the lush green of the forest. After a short while's run, Sigungala assumed that it might be safe to stop. He didn't sense the evil elf's presence, and so slowed to a halt in a large enough to live in tree. The stag also slowed gracefully. Sigungala hopped down to a lower branch, a branch at stag level, and there he perched.

"Don't blame yourself," he gently said to Lumierre, before darting a worried look over his shoulder.

A laugh slipped from his lips, accidental, for now was really not the time for laughter. But he couldn't help it, for the harder he tried to not laugh, the harder it became to do so.

"I think the explosion was warning enough," He said with a sly smile growing on his face, for the euphoria of escaping death was just starting to set in. He looked over to Lumierre, noticing how weak she was. His smile faltered, and he reached to his waist. Unhooking a small satchel that was somehow still clinging to his loincloth type garment, Sigungala looked wistfully at Lumierre. Out he fished a small phial of dark amber liquid.

"Enchanted Sap Spirit. It won't heal your wounds, but will...brighten your spirits," he extended the phial towards her, as the stag danced sideways to come closer to the tree.
