a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by CHain_Way

Description

Image

Species : Human (Siren-touched) – The child of a union between Siren and Human; in general, their appearance is no different to that of a human, however during their song they suffer shifts in eye and hair colouration as well as subtle changes physically. Coming from the Siren bloodline, their song (be it with voice or instrument) has a sense of mystical power behind it, sending forth the emotion of the melody to those nearby, whatever it may be and the intensity of this can be changed as the Siren-touched becomes more adapt at control.

Age : 22 (The age limit of a Siren-touched is not much greater than a human, with the maximum age being about 150.)

Height : 6’0

Weight : 149lbs

Body Type : He does little in the way of physical exercise, however he eats surprisingly little, and as such he has a slim build with little muscle to speak of. He is not overly skinny however, and is rather charming to look at.

Physical Appearance : As in the picture. During his songs however, should he find himself fully captured by the tones of the melody (playing or hearing music) his body will undergo subtle changes; his eyes will shift to a bright and piercing yellow hue, taking on something of a hypnotizing quality also. His nails will also slightly lengthen, though nothing to the extent of claws and finally his hair grows slowly but gradually, coming to a stop about his elbows.
He also takes on the emotion of whatever song he was playing, though only if, as above, he is fully enraptured in it. This can be a positive or a negative thing and it is often the case that those listening also succumb to the melody’s charms.

Sion Monara slowly pushed open the door to the bar with a rather thin hand, pale fingers wrapping around the doorframe before the young man stepped quietly over the threshold and glanced around at his surroundings.

Over a year. It had been over a year since he had visited this city, and he found the changes made to the bar rather worrying; why on earth were metallic walls needed? After a moment, Sion thought best not to dwell on the topic and simply sighed heavily, closing his eyes. His hands drifted to a small case that hung from his shoulder, fingers trailing delicately over the silver clasps in a manner that showed something very precious was inside, and he smiled gently to himself, nodding before looking once again to the bar.

He tried to not look intimidated or worried, however a portion may have slipped through his slight smile; he wasn’t known for his prowess in social scenarios, preferring to peak through music rather than conversation however he would try once again. He stepped towards the counter and sat in silence, casting his blue eyes about the room in a curious fashion... Where should he start? What should he do? First moves were not his forte...

A soft and gentle melody would suddenly begin to drift from the corner of the room; the low and somewhat eerie tones of a violin being heard by those inside the bar. The young man who was playing the instrument with such ease was perched upon a chair, his legs lightly crossed and his eyes were closed as he swayed very slightly to the music.

Should anyone pay particular attention to the string’s tunes, a sense of complete calm and subtle pleasure would nudge at their minds; the feeling that problems were not a bad as they seemed. Sion’s eyes opened very slightly for a moment, the dark brown of his iris being slightly streaked with yellow before he closed them once again and silenced his instrument, resting it carefully upon his knee.

With a small sigh he tilted his head downward to gaze with fondness at the violin, slender fingertips stroking the wood before he placed it carefully back into its case, clipping it shut. With that the man turned his attention to the bar, a nervous yet polite smile upon his features as he sought some company for the evening... He was hardly a strong-willed individual however, and so first moves were not his forte.

Sion Monara was quite a private person, and while he didn’t mind people watching as he played, it was rather unnerving for the rather subdued man to have not one, but two people staring at him. He cleared his throat quietly and again placed his hands over the violin case, getting a sense of calm from his precious possession. Still, it took a moment for his to build up the courage needed to turn back to the pair and offer them that same nervous smile along with a slight incline of the head.

A simple thing, but hopefully the couple (he assumed they were a couple, being in such a close position to one another) would perhaps come to speak with him, rather than simply stare.

Sion Monara blinked quickly at the sudden question, his figure tilting backwards in a defensive motion away from the two who came upon him so suddenly. He coughed in a somewhat awkward manner, looking at his violin as he replied in a soft tone. “Ah... No... No I simply play... Whenever the urge to comes to me...” He turned back to the twins as his playing was complimented, a small and embarrassed smile coming to his features as he lightly waved a dismissive hand.

“Oh no... I’m always improving, learning new melodies, new feelings...” He said quietly, clearing his throat before he added, if only to be polite; “W, would you care to... Sit down...?” He tilted his head slightly to one side, lifting the violin from the table to rest it upon his knee, holding it close.

Sion Monara looked between the two as they joined him, lightly biting his bottom lip as he did his best to avoid lowering his eyes from theirs. ‘Come on, Sion... You’re a man, act like one.’ He mentally scolded himself, a slight frown appearing briefly over his lips before he forced it aside, a hand lifting from the violin to tuck some hair idly behind his ear. “Oh, ah... You would like to... hear me play again...?” He repeated, tilting his head downward to gaze at the instrument nestled on his lap.

He was silent for a moment, as if inwardly debating something before he smiled gently and nodded once, moving the violin from its case, resting it against his shoulder. As he slid the bow over the strings he focused his mind on nothingness, that is; he tried to free himself of emotion to ensure none was imparted through his music... It wouldn’t do for him to cause great worry for the entire bar.

Despite his efforts the melody that began to come forth from the strings was a somewhat melancholic one, carrying the sensation of unease and nervousness that would spread to those who listened to his melody. Sion furrowed his brow slightly as, granted the tune sounded pleasant, it was still a solemn one. He stopped suddenly and shook his head, lowering the instrument to rest it upon his knee again.

“I... I am sorry...” He offered quietly, head tilting forward in a small bow.

Sion Monara shook his head quickly, an apologetic frown coming to his features as he swiftly placed the violin back into its case, snapping it shut with a small clicking sound. “No... It is... I...” He struggled to find the right words through his insecurities, and eventually bowed his head once again.

“Please, you don’t need to leave... The unease you feel it... it will not last long.” He added quietly, looking somewhat ashamed as he cleared his throat once again. “S, so... Do you enjoy music? I personally try to hear as many varieties as possible; I find it helps my own playing to expand my knowledge of the subject.” He paused for a moment, trying to think of a way to make the atmosphere more pleasant after his rather dreary song.

“B, but thank you for your compliments... They’re very generous of you to give.” He said, trying to smile happily across at the pair, though the result was a hopeful expression.

Sion Monara wrapped a slender hand about the wooden door, pushing it open with a strange degree of care for such an action. His other hand held tightly to the handle of a small black case which he occasionally glanced down upon, as if to check it was still safe at his side and as he stepped slowly through the threshold he looked around cautiously with his dark eyes, a look of apprehension on his features.

He wasn’t the best at social interactions and so he thanked for small mercies that there was no violence occurring in the bar; he had heard stories of the place being blown up and the like, and the poor young man would likely be traumatized for life, should he come face to face with anything of that nature.

A small sigh passed his lips as he tilted his head downwards, making his way quietly towards a small table against a wall, his posture tight and somewhat defensive; clearly nervous to any who paid him any heed. As he sat he placed the case carefully upon his lap, a slight smile gracing his features as he peered down at it... Should he play? Perhaps he should – it tended to make him feel more at ease, but then... He glanced around slowly before looking quickly back down. He didn’t wish to intrude on anyone...

No, he would stay silent; that would be best.

Sion Monara , thankfully kept his money in the same case as his violin; he always held the item close by and never let it out of his sight. This was certainly a good thing, as being looted of his wallet on his second venture into the bar would not have been a pleasant experience in the slightest.

He blinked slowly as he tilted his head upward, the slightest hint of a frown coming to him as he noted he was being watch from across the bar. He swiftly looked downward once again and shuffled anxiously in his seat; it always made him terribly nervous whenever people seemed to be watching him. Even if they weren’t the young man seemed constantly concerned by something during his trips out but thankfully it seemed he didn’t attract attention for a long period and he relaxed slightly.

He then realised that he was being watch by another and shuffled once again, his eyes flicking to the woman as she seemed intent on speaking with him, and sure enough he swallowed quietly at her words, tilting his head slightly in order to look at her fully. “Oh... Ah... I am not waiting for anyone but...” He trailed off for a moment before he shook his head slightly, mentally scolding himself for thinking to be so rude.

“Ah, forgive me; of course... Please... F-feel free to have a seat.” He murmured softly, gesturing vaguely to the chair across from himself.

Sion Monara didn’t respond to Whisper’s words for several moments as he slowly lowered his gaze to the case resting upon his lap, fingertips ghosting over the surface in a fond and comforting manner before he closed his eyes and nodded to her inquiry regarding the instrument. “Ah... Yes... Yes I-I play.” He said quietly before he glanced up for a brief moment to add; “And please... You aren’t intruding on anything; I wasn’t... Doing anything so... There was nothing to intrude upon.” He offered her a very small, very nervous smile but still... The man tried.

“Oh, I see... It is... Nice to meet you, Whisper.” He said gentle, bowing his head for a moment before he added his own introduction; he would hate to be rude. “My name is Sion, Sion Monara.” He then blinked across at her, slightly confused and worried by her low tone... he didn’t think he was worrying to look at or sit with... Oh dear, was he causing problems for someone already?

“Ah, are you... Are you quite alright?” He asked tentatively. “If it’s not... Too bold to say, you seem... Quiet.” Ironic, coming from himself, who was most likely one of the quietest about.

Sion Monara pushed open the door to the bar with a somewhat tentative grip upon the handle, his figure slipping through the small crack he made between the door and wall. He stood still for several moments as he allowed his gaze to drift over the surprisingly empty bar, blinking quickly with shock; never had he seen the place so empty and it was slightly disconcerting.

Still, the musician decided, too few people were better than too many and he placed a small and nervous smile upon his lips as he ventured forward into the main area, his hands carefully holding a slender dark violet case containing his pride and joy; the instrument he built his life on; his violin. Fingertips ghosted in an almost affectionate manner over the case as he sank into a chair beside a window and he cradled the item on his lap as he surveyed the room again.

“What to do...? What to do?” He mused softly to himself, head tilting to one side. The motion caused several strands of dark hair to drift over his features and his bottom lip was taken between his teeth; social interaction was not his forte, and while he enjoyed conversation, he would be hard pressed to approach anyone.

Sion Monara pondered his next course of action for several moments before he decided he would play a small melody; nothing fancy or overly complex, merely a tune to hopefully cause conversation to flow more easily. Nimble and dextrous fingers snapped open the clasps of his violet case and took out the violin it held with the upmost of care, resting it against his chin, taking up the bow in slender fingertips.

He took a deep intake of breath, eyes slipping closed before he began to play. The tune would be quiet and slightly reserved, being mostly composed of a string of low and slightly sorrowful notes. Despite this, it would carry an odd weight to it and those who heard or paid attention to his son would most likely feel a little more at ease, comfortable in their surroundings. It wouldn’t be clear why this was however, and Sion continued to play, his figure swaying to and fro with the slow and steady rhythm.

As the tune went on, the feelings of calm and ease would steadily increase as the notes seemed to almost physically entwine about those in the room. To anyone who glanced at the source of the music, they would perhaps note the slight yellow glitter to Sion’s eyes; a colour that would certainly be out of place on a human. Still, the man seemed not to notice any glances that may or may not have passed his way, as he was too entranced in his own playing.

Should anyone be paying particularly close attention, the man’s gentle humming would join the tune of the violin, increasing the soothing waves yet further before he suddenly gasped loudly and snapped the bow from the strings, the sensations emanating forth ceasing immediately. He swallowed and shuffled slightly, seeming uncomfortable as he hastily placed his violin away, rubbing his forehead gently with the tips of his fingers.

“Oh my... I must not... I need to... Contain myself better...” He said softly to himself, closing the lid on his beloved violin. He then glanced upward to notice the two stares in his direction, and his cheeks took on a slight pink hue as he quickly lowered his gaze again, mumbling to himself in a scolding tone. “Be calm, Sion; what would your mother say if she saw you now...?”

Sion Monara had been in the process of murmuring quiet scolding comments to himself regarding his music and interfering with other personal moments when he was approached. His head tilted upward in a sharp motion, eyes slightly wide with surprise as he hadn’t expected anyone to speak with him. At the woman’s words his lips parted and closed several times as he tried to form a coherent response, eventually settling on a rather pathetic; “Ah... I, I see... Thank you...” It wasn’t much, but it was something.

He then blinked slowly as the woman suddenly turned and hurried away, a slight frown marring his features as he worried he had somehow offended the woman. The poor man then spent the next several moments debating whether or not he should go over and continue what little conversation they had... Should he, or should he not? Should he... Or should he not...?

Eventually he swallowed thickly and stood, walking slowly towards the woman, pausing a good distance from her table so as to hopefully cause her no stress. “Ah.. Excuse me...” He began softly. “Do you... Are you familiar with music...? No one else commented so... I thought that... Perhaps you...” He trailed off into hopeless silence, shrugging his arms which carefully held his violin.

Sion Monara was, thankfully to focused on his potential conversation partner to notice the booing and beer-throwing, which was a good thing; the poor man's self esteem would be crushed that little bit more had he noticed.

The young musician blinked slowly, somewhat surprised at the woman’s words as it seemed she did in fact have some knowledge on musical terms and the like. He smiled slightly as she spoke, it being a good thing that she seemed content enough to do so in his presence; he did so hate awkward silences. He nodded occasionally as she spoke to show that he was paying attention before he looked slightly surprised at the offer to join her. He was silent for a time before he nodded once again, brightening his smile.

“Oh I... If you don’t mind...” He said quietly, moving to sit in the chair opposite her, his precious violin being placed on his lap, fingers running smoothly over it. “Thank you for inviting me to your table... I hope you don’t feel... Obligated or... Anything bad like that...” He added before he moved on to the topic of music as it seemed to be something they both enjoyed.

“I have a bad habit of... Of imparting feelings with my music... Sometimes it is good and fine but others... Well... It can be a problem...” He trailed off, a frown coming to his features. “Ah, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be gloomy.” He added swiftly, smiling slightly in the woman’s direction.

“My name is Sion, Sion Monara... It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss.”

Sion Monara smiled quite happily as she spoke of feeling being contained inside herself and the longing to release them, finding that he had much the same experience, however he had the means to release them.. Though it was often not a good thing for him to do so, he still understood her words. “No, no I understand you... it’s nice to get your feelings out... If you don’t they might smother you, which is never a good thing...” He nodded to himself then, a small smile coming to his lips as he did so.

He then clasped his hands together atop his case and tilted his head to one side, an impressed expression coming to his face as she spoke of writing. “Ohh, writing is an amazing skill... Though it has escaped me completely-“ He laughed quietly, in an embarrassed fashion before continuing. “- I can write musical pieces, but words... Words are difficult for me to grasp and use... So I speak with notes.”

“I wouldn’t be embarrassed or worried about being lost... I think.. .Most people here are searching for something, or are running from something worse... I would rather be lost than have a weight on my back... And besides... I’m sure you can get back on your feet in no time.” He smiled gently across at her before he gasped in surprise at her suggestion of getting him a drink, shaking his head swiftly.

“Oh, I... i couldn’t possibly... I’m alright; I have little in the way of money so I... I wouldn’t be able to repay you right away... But the offer is deeply appreciated.” He said with an embarrassed smile.

The flowerbeds of the garden swayed slowly in the breeze, reflecting the dim sunlight that cascaded downward from a bright blue sky, even the simple grass seemed somewhat elegant in the picturesque setting. Seated atop a small white stone bench was Sion, legs folded neatly, his hands resting atop a dark violet case that sat beside him on the bench. Dark blue eyes regarded the item for several long moments with an expression of the deepest adoration; a curious look to gaze upon such a thing with, and with almost tentative hands, he flicked the case open to reveal his pride and joy; his immaculate violin.

There was not a single blemish upon the fine woodwork, each string glittering in the light; sure signs of how well it was maintained, and the young man took it up in both hands, one fluttering downward to take up the bow, running it smoothly over the strings to create a single, low note that seemed to waver the very air. Sion let out a heavy exhale before he shifted into a more formal position and closed his eyes gently.

The song that he began to play was a curious choice; such a peaceful and beautiful setting would more readily accept a gentle, flowing tune, however Sion played a rather brisk and quickened melody; The Devil's Trill. It was such a haunting, almost hellish sound to come from such a nervous individual, and yet the tune carried itself effortlessly, the greenery about his form seeming to halt its motion, the very wind ceasing as if to listen to the performance.

The tune continued to pour from the violin, it seeming akin to a second language for the man who was playing, and ever so gradually those who heard its lyrical tones would feel a strange sense of presence behind them, an unease that suggested they were being watched. A slight stirring of violence would also instil in those especially susceptible; such was the power of the Siren’s Song, even when it was unintentional.

Sion seemed completely lost in his tune, his figure swaying from side to side along with the quick rhythm, hands moving swiftly, perfectly in sync as the tune progressed. His eyes opened very slightly and a soft yellow glow would come for their usually brown depths before they slid closed once again and he continued playing; he had clearly not noticed a presence listening in on him; far too lost was he to the music.

The feeling stirred up by the melody would only increase as time went on, and Sion himself would gradually begin to sag, as if playing made him physically exhausted, the song was gradually nearing an end however; it was a matter of whether it would reach it.
