Description
Name: Theodore Gawain Ursa. Usually goes by, "Teddy."
Age: 18
Occupations:Former Knight, Former Pokemon Trainer, Former High-ranking Member of the Order of Light, Banished Warrior and Mercenary.
Physical Description:
-eyes: Blue
-hair: Pale Blonde, evidently bleached, in a messy comb over.
-height: 5"7'
-build: Muscular.
Personality: Teddy can be described as silent and quiet, due to him not being too outgoing. However, he does maintain (or try to) a gentlemanly conduct, holding ideas a of honor, justice, and the fair treatment of women and children. As a knight, he keeps true to his honor and chivalry. He is brave in the face of battle, not letting his opponents intimidate him when he's clearly facing an enemy clearly out of his league. Overall, Teddy possesses an adament nature. However, he does have a weakness to women, sometimes being distracted at worst. After his banishment, he seems to have become colder, pragmatic, and emotionally closed off.
Equipment, abilities, and his team: Teddy is in possession of a powerful team of Pokemon, however, they are mostly absent, with only his Aggron, Thumbnail, traveling with him, however, it is likely Thumbnail was taken away from him when he was banished. Most of the time, he can be seen with his armor, which is a combination of modern soldier kevlar armor, and medieval knight's armor. As weapons go, he can be seen with a knife, a concealed handgun, and a charm, which he describes that it gives him small protection from bad luck, which equals a lesser risk of being injured or captured or killed. As far as skills go, Teddy is very athletic and possesses a will hardened by battle. However, his most notable abilities are his skill at exploiting enemy weaknesses in close and ranged combat and his inexplicably sharp aim. Teddy is a frightfully skilled combatant, and anyone looking to face him in a fair fight have already lost.
History: Being raised by a single rich mother, Teddy would rise into heroism after being trained as a knight. He seems to be affiliated with stopping many criminals. He is also a high-ranking member of a magical peace organization, the Order of Light. However, some kind of incident occurred to cause a falling out between Teddy's friends and family, an incident so severe, he had evidently been banished as a result.
So begins...
Teddy was taken aback as Supinity had taken Ebba's place. "Supinity!" He called out, "I think you might actually be the best person for what I need you, Ebba, and the rest of your family to do. If I come around and none of you think it's actually me, then do what ever it takes to protect Ebba. Lazarus helped me face some of my memories in the past, she can probably guess that this Prometheus is a clone of me. He might try to impersonate me to get to Ebba."
”Huh? You want me to stab you the next time we see you? Can’t you have some fancy codename or...Whatever...Like What Ebba called a flower. Or...Ugh...Thinking up plans is not for me. But I get it now...If we think if you are a fake, then stab you because I have no problem doing that or...whatever...Regardless I’m stabbing someone.” Supinity scratched her head in a bit of confusion.
"I didn't mean it like that!" Teddy said accusingly, "All four of you probably has ways to tell me apart from Mizer... Maybe... Probably... Okay, not very likely since we've only known each other for a day now. But if any of you have a way to tell me apart from him, then keep that handy."
Supinity simply shrugged. ”Alright, although I am not sure how long Ebba is gonna remain hiding. So if it comes down to it, I’ll knock you out and tie you up and then when a second one arrived I’ll do the same and then go from there.” She spoke giving a small yawn. No killing...man...
"This place is sketchy..." Ben was walking down the street looking for something to do.
"Better," Teddy said as he still looked at Supinity with suspicious eyes, "The last thing we need is either you or Celeste attracting attention to yourselves. Mizer left a motorcycle waiting for me North of here, so more than likely, I'l need to go alone on this. I doubt any of you have seen war before, and I tend to keep you all away from it. War changes people, often times, for the worse."
”Boy are you daft or something? Even if we don’t remember much about our origins. The three of us knows war very well...It’s like something engraved in us all. But for Ebba...We are trying to keep her away from the horrible things but it may happen eventually. Still, I Got you.” She waved him off..
"Thank you," Teddy said, he then reached into a pocket on his suit and went to hand Supinity a good bundle of the local currency, "If she spends wisely, this should be enough money for Ebba to keep herself fed while I'm gone. Stay safe, you, Ebba, and everyone else, and don't do anything rash while I'm gone."
”You have more luck convincing a lion to go vegetarian than me not being rash...” Supinity laughed at her own joke. Surprisingly, she made jokes.
"At least you replied," Teddy said, and with that, he had begun to walk to the door and was getting ready to exit the building, "I just hope I come back alive and after all this, tell stories of what happened. Goodbye, Supinity, and to the rest of you as well."
So then, Teddy left the building. He now had to make his way to the motorcycle Mizer had arranged for him north of the hotel and into the main street of Wing City. So much was going through his mind now, he had no way to know if Mizer planned to go after Ebba while he was away, or if he didn't, make sure Mizer will hold his end and leave the two in peace.
Knowing how much Mizer wanted to kill him, it certainly wasn't the case. Teddy's enemy had a complex, he wanted to prove he was superior to him in every way. He knew he was just a pawn right now, at this point. If an opportunity presented itself to turn the tables, get an edge on Mizer, he knew he had to take it. For now, though, he had to just go with Mizer's demands.
As Teddy left, Supinity sighed. There’s no telling how long Ebba will remain in hiding. She had hopes it would only be for a day but with all that was happening she might be inclined to stay inside until Teddy came back. At best she could convince Ebba to swap out with the others...Of course with such freedom, she might as well enjoy the benefits.
With Teddy going his own direction, Supinity turned in her own separate direction. Only time would tell if he lived, if he did...She might consider him rather lucky.
Teddy now began to travel north up the main street of Wing City, far enough for the gate of the ruined Wing City Gardens to be visible. Up and down the place, he could still see an impressive number of Imperial Guardsmen rebuilding the damaged parts of the city and assisting those who had been rendered homeless in the invasion, whether it be giving food, providing clean water, or giving comfort to those who had lost loved ones in the episode. Especially since he began to see civilian volunteers and rescue workers assisting the soldiers, he knew that the place would be up and running in only a matter of days. Teddy was especially impressed as the invaders, who had been made into laboring prisoners of war, had assisted as well, and because of their superhuman feats, almost had repairing and restoring the place finished already!
It occurred to him though, that a war was going on, and there are still plenty of warriors here. He was just about to ask himself why there were still guards here when they should be off fighting in the Valley of Shadows, but then he remembered that the Empire of Men was millions of worlds strong, if not billions. Even if those numbers may have been exaggerated, it was still plenty enough places to draw plenty enough men to build an army quite easily. He knew he didn't need to worry about it, he needed to find that motorcycle, wherever it was.
Hours before Teddy had awoken, at one of the shelters present, a motorcycle had appeared near it. Nobody knew how it got there, nor where it came from, but the motorcycle's license plates indicate that it was just bought, but not registered to an owner yet. There was a large satchel attached to it by some kind of lock, and on that note was an envelope attached to it via an adhesive. Only a few words were written on the paper, "To the guard who finds this: Give this letter and its contents and vehicle and the objects attached to it to a man named, 'Teddy Ursa.'"
It was safe to say, that despite a war the Imperium still kept the people in mind. Restoration efforts were almost complete and most citizens were ready to return to their homes. Many now with faith in their hearts. Of course as a few Guardsman made their routine passe they noticed a motercycle. On it a note was stuck on it informing whoever found it give it to a man named Teddy Ursa.
“Run the name through the dataslate.” One of the Guardsman spoke as the other voxed the name through his radio. A higher ranked officer ran the name through a background check and up came one name. Teddy Ursa, registered as a temporary Whiteshield during a Wing City invasion. Now a citizen.
Well they would keep an eye out for the man at least. “Attention local Guardsman, be on the lookout for a Teddy Ursa. Point him to designation MS-C-17.” The Guardsman reported.
In the present, Teddy's inspection of the local area had come to a close. He had a motorcycle to look for, and soon, he couldn't keep Mizer waiting. So he began to look for the motorcycle in question.
Easy task, it was probably left days in advance and has been trashed in the invasion as a result. All Teddy could do, at least for what he knew, was to stay optimistic. He just had to keep his hopes up that the vehicle he had been arranged to get to was still not only in one peace, but also not towed away in violation of Wing City parking laws.
As he looked around, he saw the guards go to-and-fro in the area doing their various tasks. Maybe they could help him find the bike that Prometheus had dropped off for him. With fingers crossed in his head, he goes to flag one down. "Sir," he called out to a guard, "If I may ask you, were they any strange motorcycles left in the past few days that went unclaimed? Someone arranged a motorcycle for me to pick-up. One that was addressed for me, Teddy Ursa, if both convenient and preferable."
Now, he had to hope.
The Guardsman turned to face Teddy when he addressed him. Teddy Ursa? One of the Guardsman had reported that if they meet a Teddy, direct him to a part of the area. “Not sure about any bike, but one of the others called in to direct you to MS-C-17. It’s an area a few blocks ahead and turn left. But if you are traveling. The mountains are a restricted area now, it’s blocked off and guarded so don’t go there Alright? Last thing we need is more work while we bring an end to the Shadow Legion.” The Guardsman informed and warned Teddy.
"I'm afraid not going there's a no can-do," Teddy began to explain, "I'm a mercenary and bounty hunter between jobs, one of the if I do say so myself, but I'm having to go there under duress, on what is arguably a suicide mission. My..."
His eyes had wandered to a passing guard who had begun to look him in the eye as he explained, and behind the back of the guard he was conversing to, the other guard began to slowly shake his head at him.
This shouldn't be possible, but it was there. Teddy was thankful he wore something over his face, because it was able to hide the horror he failed to naturally disguise. Evidently, Mizer had agents in the Imperial Guard too(1)! But... how? They had psychics and psionics in the Imperium, they shouldn't have been able to get past them!
With this revelation, he had to change his words. "My client," he said, "Is sending me out there to steal a scale from the Draco of Shadows. I don't know what he or she wants, but whoever it is, just from the risk alone, it must involve some ill-will. My client must want it very badly, not only was I called, but he or she tried to put me under duress to do so."
The fake guard nodded at Teddy, as if promising to put in a good word with his new master, and marched on his way.
“Well I’m afraid if you are going to continue I have no choice.” The Guardsman stated as he raised his Las-gun at Teddy. “By Order Of Imperial law, you are under military arrest for failure to comply with an order as a civilian. Put your hands in the air or face summary execution.” The soldier stated. The man just said...Summary execution, to a civilian at that. The Imperium had no qualms in maintaining order, and they had their orders. Mercanary or not, unless ordained by an Imperial Officer or Segmentum Command they would be treated as an outsider.
Teddy had no choice but to raise his hands and comply. Though it was true that he was one of the best in the business, it didn't protect him from being simply shot down right there, no amount of skill or cunning could save him from this position. If any of his old friends and allies were here now, they'd be doing their best to bail him out right now. That was then, though, and this was now.
If Mizer's plan was to simply have him arrested on war crimes, it was certainly going to work for sure. He hadn't even reached the motorcycle yet and his travel to the Valley of Shadows and him stealing a scale from the Draco of Shadows was already coming to a close before it even began.
So this was it, huh? He had nothing else to do from here, no one to get him out of this pickle, and resisting would only bring about a sure death. He protected Ebba and did his part in protecting Wing City from the invaders, but just like every other time, he couldn't even save himself...
The Guardsman began to radio it in. “I have a civilian under military arrest. Despite warnings suspect decided to continue with their plan to go into a restricted area. Be advised, I’m bringing one in.” The Guardsman radioed it in before motioning to Teddy. “Move, any sudden movements and I open fire.” The man spoke as he pointed the way. And the way was to an Imperial Guard post to be locked up.
Fun. He didn't like this one bit, in fact, it made him pretty livid. He complied with the guard and began to walk to the Imperial Guard post. He wasn't going to try to escape, it would be foolish now, but if he was going to be shipped off to a far prison somewhere, then he had to act. But for now, he had to bide his time and see what developed in the situation. He readied himself to not flinch when he had the Las-gun pushed against his back.
