Krogan Biology
Due to the brutality of their surroundings, natural selection has played a significant role in the evolution of the krogan. Unlike most species on the Citadel, krogan eyes are wide-set - on Earth this is distinctive of prey animals, and in this case it gives the krogan 240-degree vision, giving them greater visual acuity and awareness of approaching predators. Prior to the genophage, krogan could reproduce and mature at an astonishing rate.
Their large shoulder humps store fluids and nutrients, enabling them to survive extended periods without food or water. A bigger shoulder hump is seen as a sign of high status, showing how successful an individual krogan is at hunting. Their thick hides are virtually impervious to cuts, scrapes or contusions, and they are highly resistant to environmental hazards, including toxins, radiation, and extreme heat and cold. Consequently their diets can include food and drink which would prove very dangerous to other species—a fact reflected in the krogan liquor of choice, ryncol, which "hits aliens like ground glass". Younger krogan have yellow or green markings on their hides. These markings darken to brown or tan over time, showing their age.

Krogan typically stand over 7 feet and weigh roughly one ton in armor. Biotic individuals are rare, though those who do possess the talent typically have strong abilities. The most amazing physiological feature of krogan biology is the multiple instances of major organs. These secondary (and where applicable, tertiary) systems are capable of serving as back-ups in the event of damage to the primary biological structures. They have, for example, two hearts, four lungs, and four testicles. This reflects in their slang, where they often speak about a "quad" where a human would use the words "balls" or "pair". Krogan also have a secondary nervous system using a neuroconductive fluid, meaning they are almost impossible to paralyze. Krogan bleed a yellow or orange fluid when shot, which may be this fluid or actual blood.

Having redundant systems makes krogan difficult to kill or incapacitate in normal combat scenarios. Sheer physical hardiness means an individual krogan can expect to live for centuries. Krogan can live for well over a thousand years, as evidenced by Warlord Okeer, a veteran of the Krogan Rebellions who died (of decidedly unnatural causes) well over a thousand years after the Rebellions ended.

Skore pushed open the door to the bar. It was the first time he had actually entered the bar during his stay on Terra. The Krogan held his Claymore close to him. Even a Krogan had to be careful on this hell hole of a planet. Skore moved to the counter. He sat down, and noticed there was a Quarian working the bar.

"You there, Quarian," Skore called, "What are you doing away from your precious Quarian fleet?" The question was innocent, but most words that came from a Krogan's most sounded hostile. He hoped that the words did not offend the tender. He wanted no quarrel today.

Skore moved to a seat and took it. "Do you have Ryncol?" the brute asked. The Krogan liquor would floor almost any species in existence, save the Krogan. "Earth was interesting," Skore said, "I could not believe that most all of the races had assembled, and then there was those Synthetics, the Geth." Skore had fought valiantly on Earth, but he felt that he had not done enough. Good men and women were lost, but that mattered not. Skore was here now, and that was all that mattered. His Mercenary work had kept him occupied.

Skore took a swig off the bottle. Wonderful, exactly as he had remembered it. "So, Quarian, is there another name I could call you, or do you prefer Quarian?" The question had a hint of Krogan humor. "Well, before you give me your name, I suppose I should give you mine," Skore offered, "I am called Skore." No clan was mentioned in his name, that might strike someone strange. He took another drink of the liquid in the bottle he held.

She called him on it. He had hoped she wouldn't, but she did. "Krogans do normally have a clan they follow under, but..." Skore trailed off, slipping into deep thought. He snapped out of it and said, "I'd rather not talk about why I don't claim a clan." Skore once again drank from the bottle of liquor. "Let's just say I am a Mercenary now, and have been for a long, long time." Krogan could live up to a thousand years, Skore was still considered young by others, but Humans or Quarians may find him ancient at his age. He had lived over a Century at this point in time.

Skore pushed his way into the bar once again. He felt like a drink after his most recent job. A few drinks of Ryncol would cure the stress that ailed Skore. He made his way to the counter and sat his massive frame down. Luckily, the chairs here were reinforced, or he would be sitting on the ground. He noticed the Quarian that had served him before. She was nice enough. Most Krogan didn't care for niceties, but war had changed Skore. He now understood that life was not about killing. But, war was the only thing he knew, so he kept Mercing to earn a living. "One bottle of Ryncol please," The Krogan said as he looked down at the counter.

Skore immediately took a drink off the bottle. "Tasi," Skore acknowledged, "My friend, it appears you may be right." Skore took another drink off the bottle then retrieved something from his hip. He set down a Geth Plasma Shotgun on the counter. "I was sent on a job and a few Geth tried to stop us," the Krogan laughed a little, "Lets just say that sentience may not be a good thing for the Geth to have." Skore had been taking missions from people and had eventually assembled a team, most of which had been taken out in the last mission they had taken. That is why the Krogan was adamant about drinking from the bottle.

Skore laughed and smiled, at least as much as a Krogan could smile. "If you like it that much," Skore began, "You can have it. I have my Claymore, and a Graal Spike Thrower as a back up." The Krogan rally did have to many shotguns, giving one away couldn't hurt. Plus Tasi seemed to love it so much, he couldn't bring himself to separate her from the shotgun. "It's the least I could do, you seemed to acquired some Ryncol for me," Skare said, "Fair trade."

"These Geth were guarding a camp of some sort," Skore began, "From what I gather, the Geth were hacked somehow. Once they were dispatched my team took heavy fire. Among the attackers were several Humans, a Krogan, A Quarian, and two Asari. Only two of us survived the attack, but we came out with the stolen goods we were sent in to get." He hoped the price he paid was worth the rewards. He lost a good friend in the attack. "The group appeared to be bandits of some kind," Skore concluded, "It was weird to have such an array of Species."

Skore laughed at the cry of Sullivan. He got that a lot. He then turned to the doctor. "I am Krogan. Also, pleased to meet you Dr. White." Skore investigated the two. As far as he could tell, the two meant him no harm. He turned back to Tasi, "Yeah, I thought it was strange too, I think the Quarian messed with the Geth somehow," Skore said, "But let us now talk of happier things. How have you been Tasi?" Some might find it strange to meet a Krogan in a cheery mood, even after such a tragedy.

The Krogan offered Sullivan a finger instead of his whole hand. Skore's hand would probably engulf the child's arm. "Nice to meet you Sullivan," Skore stated simply. He took another drink of the Ryncol. The bottle was almost half gone and Skore was still sober. One drink of the stuff would floor almost anyone in the room. "I think I better go," Skore said as he stood up, "I have some work to do." The brute took the bottle of Ryncol, "Good-bye." Skore walked out.

Skore entered the Casino. The Krogan looked out of place. He looked around, he was supposed to be looking for some kid that supposedly was some kind of super detective. He saw him at a poker table. The 2000 pound beast moved toward the table and sat down. "Deal me in," The Krogan said as he presented some chips. The alien had a face almost no human could read.

"Alright kid, let's see what you got," Skore said, "I heard you were some kind of super detective, so read me." He received his cards and began to play the hand.

Skore liked this kid already. Then he heard the information about the woman with the blade. He drew his Claymore shotgun and pointed over his shoulder and fired it. The Servant was missing a considerable part of her body after the point blank blast. "Yeah kid," Skore said as he stood up and looked for the next contestant, "I'm impressed. And I hope you have a weapon, 'cause this won't be as fun without you." Krogan Sarcasm, a rare trait among Krogan.

The Krogan stood in a readied stance and watched for the next move.

"That they do," Skore said. Skore whiped around and ran at the two guards that walked in. He put his shoulder into one and then headbutted the other. That gave Skore three kills. One dead of a shotgun blast, one of a broke spine, and the third of a crushed skull. The Krogan was in a blood rage. He didn't like assassins to much. He looke back at Cyphrus and let out a Blood curdling roar. The Krogan was having fun, however sadistic.

He began running for the three shady gamblers. An angry Krogan is a very dangerous thing to deal with.

Skore connected with the shady gamblers. One was killed instantly due to a broken neck, a second due shrapnel from a broken chair, and then the third was missing his head. The Krogan calmed down. He saw no one, save for the kid. He thought that there was another guard, but he must've turned tail.

"Hey kid," Skore said, "You doing alright?" Yet another rare trait from a Krogan, concern for other's safety.

Skore walked over to the kid. "Well," Skore said, "It looks like our friends here need a bit more fire power to stop us. Where's the guy you left alive?" Skore asked because an interrogation was needed. Even though he didn't consider it in the battle, rage tends to blind people, it was needed.

The Krogan popped his shoulder and cracked his neck.

Skore walked off of the ship he had been on. This was Skore's first time back on Terra for what seemed like months. The synthesis had made things easier on him, but he still felt lonely at times.

What Skore needed was a drink. He saw a bar near the dock where he got off. He moved to the bar through the crowds. He went in and sat down. The chair moaned from the weight. Skore then put his head down and waited to be served.

"Urdnot Skore," Skore said as he looked up. Before he said another word he drank his beer. "I met a great Krogan leader in battle and saved his ass," Skore said, "And I do remember Tasi." He had a rare Krogan smile on his face. "It's been a long time my good friend. What happened to working at that awful place, Gambit's Bar?"

"Well aren't you successful," Skore said. "After I fought the reapers I thought nothing could get worse, but I was wrong. There has been a huge war between this Company and a group of some kind of Lizard men. I just got done with my contract. Those damn Big Wigs don't ever give Mercenaries brakes, it's one battle after another. I don't plan on resigning with them. I actually plan on staying on Terra for a few months, maybe forever if I get a job."

"Exploration hmm..." Skore thought aloud. "A long lost ship. I like the idea of that. I think I'm done with fighting other people's battles, I think I'm only going to sign on with people who are going on explorations, or recovery missions. No more war for this Krogan." Skore laughed aloud. "Thanks for the inspiration," Skore said, "I hate to ask you this, but are you hiring?"

"More than fair," Skore said, "It's been years since I worked as a bouncer." Skore smiled to himself, "I used to work at a place called Purgatory. It was on the Citadel..." Skore thought to himself. "So what kind of crew does your Dreadnought have?" Skore asked, changing the subject.
