Sophia Voth

Once a skilled assassin, Sophia has begun to rethink morality.

0 · 3,058 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Saviarre

Description

Image

Deceptively attractive, Sophia will draw you in with her words, her actions, her glances, and stab you in the back. Literally.

Upon first glance, Sophia appears just to be another pretty face. If one looks into her stormy blue eyes, however, they will see the cold calculations of a merciless killer. Having been the only female assassin in a world of males, Sophia tended to be a bit gruff. She could be crude, she could be insulting, she could be a huge bitch. But they say those with the toughest exterior are the protecting a fragile core.

Or at least, once upon a time.

Now, internally struggling with the concept of morality, Sophia doesn't really know who she is anymore.

So begins...

noticed his discomfort and wondered if she should leave. She sipped from her glass of whiskey for a moment, looking at him. She placed the cigarette between her lips, inhaling, her eyes sliding closed with enjoyment. “Levant,” she said quietly. “That’s a wonderful name. Strong. Full of promise.” She exhaled, blowing the smoke toward the ceiling. “What brings you to town, Levant?” Her smile was friendly, but she hoped he didn’t feel as if she were interrogating him.

had noticed the fangs, the way he looked at her. Her eyes slid off to the side for a moment. Every day, she felt this place was becoming less and less safe for humans. She lifted the glass to her lips, hiding a smile, sipping for a moment. She turned her gaze back on him. “I’m sorry, but that doesn’t sound familiar. I do hope you find her.” She sipped the whiskey again, biting her lip, wondering what her chances would be if this stranger were to suddenly attack. She calculated factors in her head and determined they would not be good. She shifted discreetly, unsnapping the sheath in which she kept her dagger, just in case.

She held up a finger in a gesture that told Levant to wait. Stepping behind the counter, she located the small refrigerator she knew was back there. Rummaging inside, she pulled out a thick plastic bag of blood. She pulled money from her pocket and paid for the item she took, picking up a glass on her way back to sit next to Levant. She slid the crimson bag over to him with the glass, frowning apologetically. “It’s cold, but… better than nothing, right?” She turned her gaze away from him for a moment, looking up at the wall. “I’ve come here to kill someone. I’ve stayed because I can’t find her… but I want her to know I’m here… it’s like flushing a rabbit from its hiding place so the dogs can tear it to shreds.” She realized she was probably coming off a bit strange and she bit her lip to signal to herself to stop talking. Taking a final drag from the cigarette, she st ”

shrugs. “I seek EvaLazaro, an escaped convict from Nupleth. She’s a small creature, barely five feet tall, covered in scars. Slave bands around her neck, wrists and ankles. Ring a bell?” She looked hopefully at him for a moment, realizing that since he was new here, she probably did not. She laid her arms on the surface of the counter, twisting her fingers together. Glancing over at him, she smiled apologetically again. “The blood… I’m sure it isn’t satisfying… but it’s here. I’ve never seen a bar with a more astounding array of drink.” She lifted her glass, squinting into the amber liquid.

fidgeted with a ring on a chain around her neck for a moment before turning abruptly to Levant. “What is it like? Surviving on blood?” Her eyes were dancing with enthusiasm. She knew how it felt to be covered in blood, the warm liquid oozing down over her hands as she slit a victim’s throat. She shivered slightly, closing her eyes at the memory. After a moment, she opened them and looked repentantly at him. “I’m sorry… it’s not fair for me to ask.”

thought about his answer. To her, the only thrill in life was to kill. She bit her lip and looked down at the surface of the counter. Perhaps that was not an appropriate way to go about life. “I do enjoy killing for fun…” she says quietly, almost contrite. “However this particular victim… I’ve been commissioned to escort her to the other side. She…” Sophia paused, wondering what explanation to give. “She wronged the king’s brother in some way, and he’s put a price on her head. The fool couldn’t catch her himself. She’s escaped him a few time.” She laughs, apparently finding this hilarious. “She’s such a small thing, and he’s such a big one… Captain of the Guard, couldn’t even catch the little mouse.”

tilted her head back and laughed before turning her face to him with a wicked smile. “Have you done something for which you believe someone has placed a price on your life? Something to be ashamed of, my friend?” She shook her head slightly. “I have never killed a vampire. They hear me coming,” she joked. “Or maybe they smell me. Perhaps it would be like a roast chicken trying to take me by stealth.” She shook her head again. “No. You needn’t fear me. Not yet anyway. I may be complicated, but I am no Brutus.”

bit her lip and moved a hand down to her dagger, pointedly securing it in the sheath. She tilted her head slightly, looking at him with a smile. “Your lips? And why would one want you dead because of your lips?” She shrugged and shook her head slightly. “I am no threat to you.” She lifted the whiskey to her lips, draining her glass. “Tell me about the one you seek. Do you wish her harm?”

nods slightly, looking up at the ceiling considering this. “Perhaps she is not gone. Perhaps it is merely whatever caused the scent that attracted you in the first place that is gone. But if you find her… then when?” She laughed at his question. “Are we not all living in a fantasy world at times? I assure you, if I were indulging you in fantasy, I would have thought of something far more interesting.”

Although what he described seemed a bit more than the obsession she was used to. “In the meantime, do you mean to starve yourself?” she smiled, gesturing to the relatively untouched blood in front of him. “Or is it really that unappetizing?”

Sophia Voth sighs and rolls her eyes, rather annoyed at something. She slides out of the booth and stalks to the counter. The time was soon, but not tonight. Soon, she would not allow herself a drink. Soon, she would spend all of her time preparing herself for that final blow... the moment when the blade of her dagger pierced her victim's flesh, her blood spilling copiously over Sophia's hands. She shuddered in pleasure at the thought. Soon. But not tonight. Tonight, she could drink. She ordered a bottle of whiskey, sliding onto a stool at the counter, thinking rapturously about the inevitable kill. Soon.

Sophia Voth looks up at scrutinizes Jacey Dizzario, her eyes narrowed over the rim of her glass of whiskey. Physically, the similarities to her mark were pretty close, but she seemed to be missing the scar. "Excuse me, Miss," Sophia called. "Might I trouble you for your name?"

Sophia Voth frowned to herself. No, the name was wrong. She sipped the whiskey. Perhaps she was just too eager to appease her craving... to feel the power of taking another life. No. Not this one. Eva. EvaLazaro and then the god she loved. Sophia sipped her drink quietly, smiling to herself, imagining how it would feel to have her hands covered in warm blood once again, the resistance of flesh against the blade of her knife, the gurgle in the lungs as the life flowed out of the victim. She licked her lips, her eyes flashing in enthusiasm and desire. Before she did, however, she would make this Eva beg for her life. She laughed softly to herself. Yes. But... how to kill a god? She pursed her lips in thought. If she had gotten here sooner, she would have no problem. This demigod issue complicated things a little bit. She sipped her whiskey, her hands tingling at the thought of all the blood she anticipated. "Soon," she muttered to herself. "Soon."

Sophia Voth shakes herself from her reverie, echoes of imagined screams echoing in her ears. She sipped her whiskey, looking down at her hands, half expecting them to be covered in blood. They weren't. She sighed unhappily. She was half tempted to kill just for the fun of it. It would be a few days before she would be able to take out her intended victim. She had almost talked herself into it. After all, one cannot let themselves get rusty. She grinned to herself, looking around the bar from her position near the counter, trying to imagine how each patron would accept their own death. Who would beg, who would cry, who would accept willingly...

Sophia Voth swallowed a mouthful of whiskey, staring down at the counter, thinking deeply. Yes. She had talked herself into allowing herself one victim. One. Just to keep herself in practice. She swallowed the remainder of her whiskey, pouring herself another glass, looking around the bar.

Sophia Voth frowns down at the counter, taking a drink from her whiskey. She had been about to leave out of boredom, to go find herself a warm body to slice. Now she was torn. He clearly wished to be left alone, but she was strangely concerned about him. She decided to stay for a bit, to see if she could be of assistance. She sipped her whiskey quietly, watching Sadakatsu surreptitiously out of the corner of her eye.
