Physical Description: Long hair that billows in the wind; the dark brown color seems almost reminiscent of Gray Wolves. At times the Clan weakness may cause him to adopt animal features, such as tufted ears, fangs, gills, or a tail; usually the man is in well enough control of himself to avoid this. His skin is rather pale, something most Kindred can overcome through use of Vitae, Swan finds this exceedingly difficult as he abandoned his humanity long ago. His nails taper into points, though they aren't always quite the claws he uses to shred flesh. His dress is utilitarian, and can vary depending on his locale, though he favors a multi-purpose long coat and sturdy jeans and shirt.

Equipment & Abilities: In addition to the increased resilience that comes with being a Vampire, Swan's particular bloodline is particularly fond of animals. They learn to control the Beast that exists within themselves, and using this mastery of Beast they learn to communicate with animals, control them, empower them, or even send the wild Beast within him into someone else and causing them to frenzy wildly. By now, the Vampire has almost complete mastery of the beast within him and it's darker urges, and is capable of entering and leaving frenzy at will, putting small bits of it in living things to better control them or see through them, and even possessing many animals at once while still retaining his sense of self. He can also change many aspects of his body, such as turning fully or partially into specific animals, growing webbing or sonar organs, turn into mist, or making his skin harder than diamond. Finally, Swan's bloodline affords him even more resilience than the average Vampire, most weapons breaking on his skin, and a greater penchant to cure wounds most Kindred would find fatal using simple Vitae.

Personality: Most of the Kindred of his Clan are entirely loners; Swan however was never much for the quiet life of a recluse. The boisterous man's presence is only matched by his appetite. Utterly ravenous, he spends most of the days prowling the waters and eating anything he gets his claws on. When dealing with Kine, he is overly patronizing; though he takes care to show necessary respect to anything that might pose a threat, or perhaps provide food further down the road. Furthermore, people that may pose a threat are just as likely to draw his attention as his ire; living in or near the Hidden Cove, the Kindred recruits those he can get his hands on in a bid for growing power.

Historical Background: Swan can't remember much of his human life. It's been so long it's all a faded memory, certain vibrant colors, tastes, or feelings were still there, but so muddled that they barely mattered anymore. His first memory is the Embrace, the painful draw on his neck as he faded to black. When he awoke, there was evidence of a struggle. A revolver and spent bullet casings signaled a fight had occurred; Swan figured he must've tried to kill his attacker. From there he wandered, traveling at night and feeding off what animals he could find. His Sire never revealed himself, but a fellow Vampire from a similar Bloodline took Swan under his wing. The Vampire learned what he could from his Elder and when he felt he could learn no more, he devoured the Elder at the first chance he had. From there Swan began to hoard what power he could; siring as many Kindred as possible in an attempt to create a suitable army. None survived their first night on their own, however, and just when Swan was beginning to lose hope, he sired a Drow named Lavinia. The two proved inseparable for some time while he imparted what he knew to her, and when he felt she could learn no more from him, he left her so that she may grow into a powerful Elder in her own right. Since then he floated slowly downriver, eating all that came before him until he ended in a small Cove frequented by Pirates. During the day the Cove provides ample cover from the sun, and at night the River King can hunt freely in it and the surrounding waters, and he now calls the Cove home. Spreading his Vitae throughout the water has resulted in Aquatic life that is stronger and more vicious than it should be, while also being completely loyal through virtue of the established Blood Bond. It was here that he was approached by the Camarilla's Inner Circle, asking him to serve as Justicar for his Clan. When the Camarilla need him, Swan goes to work.

So begins...

"Castle Vankoryth, ah yes. I trust the Conclave is already assembled in the Room?" Prince Lacroix didn't look back at his companion, eager to take his seat and get this part of Aslund under control. Castle servants saw his approach, hastily opening the large double doors that led to the Room of Reason. "My apologies for our tardiness, we ran into some unruly Kindred that were practically asking to be put down." Lacroix re-adjusted his tie while taking his seat.

The Prince's companion, a Justicar sent to ensure negotiations went smoothly, didn't bother to sit. Instead he stood behind the Prince, gazing at the assembled Kindred. "May I have a refreshment? I'm as famished as a street urchin missing both hands." Swan tipped his hat to one of the servant girls, directing his question towards Daemala.

Lacroix leaned forward, placing his elbows on the table and folding his hands together. "We're here because the laws that bind our society, the laws that are the fabric of our existence, are in disrepair. The Traditions are what separate us from savages. Lest we endanger all of our kind, the First Tradition of the Masquerade, needs to be enforced."

He paused for a moment, allowing the weight of his words to be measured, then continued. "The Detente, are powerful indeed, and it is due to this power that they cannot simply be left unchecked. My companion and I came here to make no threats, or to demand anything." A brief look was given to Ulrich, "We came here to have a civilized discussion, about the Camarilla and the Detente coming to an agreement, for the good of our kind. When that's over, we'd be delighted to attend your party Zosimos."

"Let's open a channel of communication," Lacroix moved a hand, beginning to lightly drum his fingers against the table. "The humans have become able to destroy us. Should they unite to eradicate us, the war could very well lead to our extinction. Aslund is threatened by our overexposure. The Detente should remain, yes. However they need to tighten their control over their peers. When rules in your territory are broken, I expect a Blood Hunt to be called. Fugitives have began to hide in your lands, knowing they needn't follow the Traditions. The powers that be are beginning to worry the impact this will have on our society. The Detente are more than capable of executing these fugitives."

Swan nodded, and said with a growl, "Detente, Thoughts?"

"A Blood Hunt, for rule breakers," Ulrich smiled, always the lover of blood hunts.

"I will not be controlled. I am not a fugitive and I will not hide myself within my own territory!" Daemala scoffed, earning a sardonic look from Zosimos. She glared back and the two stared until Zosimos rolled his eyes towards Lacroix.

"The Masquerade serves it's purpose, as the Detente serves it's purpose. I see no reason why the two cannot exist with a symbiotic bond," Zosimos began, "Overexposure..."

Zosimos stood from his seat and began to slowly place.

"It's true The Detente, especially as of late, has been more a public figurehead for the Cursed Wood than anything else. Let that remain, but strengthen. We are no longer feared as we once were, and you are right: this is a problem. As for fugitives, if there are any you seek, name the names. The Detente does not harbor traitors of any kind."

Reisel cleared his throat.

"The Vankoryth Detente has done much good. It can continue to do so, so long as we keep ourselves first. Let the masquerade rekindle our senses of self. Let us attack from all sides, in gaining back control of the night. Let us do so publicly, with The Detente, and privately, with The Masquerade. I see no other option if we are to survive. We cannot fully hide, yet we shouldn't fully show."

Zosimos plopped back into his seat.

"We will protect The Masquerade. We will slip into every skin we have. We are the Vampire Lords of Vankoryth, we are the secret shadows which pull the strings of society. We are the night. Now, about those traitors. What have they done to threaten those who exist in The Masquerade? Have their actions threatened The Vankoryth Detente?"

Ulrich Paternosta snorted, "Dare they. We'll get 'em."

Terun frowned from his seat, still thinking about the dinner party.

A short time passed, the bar still quite a mess despite John's best efforts, when a man walked in sporting a baseball cap that with the letters 'MAEGA' embroidered into it. He pursed his lips in a low whistle, looking about the place and the carnage that had transpired not long ago. "Looks like ya'll had a bit of a leech problem." He swaggered his way to the bar, taking a seat and demanding, "A flagon of Ale, to wet my whistle," before dropping several gold coins onto the bar counter. "S'only currency I've on me, I'm afeared."

Before he had time to be served, the man caught a familiar scent in the air. He turned to stare at Gabrielle, sizing her up and walking over to her. "Say now..." He inhaled deeply, the scent was unmistakable. "You wouldn't happen to be compatriots with a Drow lady, now would ya chile?" Wild eyes scanned the room carefully, taking every little detail into account. This was her handiwork alright. "Name's Swan, but please... Call me King. Now about the Drow... Pretty lil' thing, black armor and a Greatsword that looks too heavy to possibly swing about. Yet she does so with impossible vigor? Ring any bells?" Swan eyed Gabby, looking over his glasses at her, scrutinizing her face for the slightest tell.

“Heh… welcome to Gambit’s. The one place where you never know what’s really going on. The brooms are in the back of the kitchen in the utility closet thingy.” Gabrielle waved with one of her hands towards the general direction, knowing that John would find it eventually. She glanced around the bar and shook her head, trying to ignore the damage while being thankful that they had a basement full of extra furniture to replace what had been broken. She made absolutely no movement towards getting up, making it clear that at least for the moment, she wasn’t budging. Her attention returned towards Becca and she just sighed with a slight nod.

“Yep, that dude was a grade A douchecanoe, that’s for sure. Glad that Ducky’s keeping out the pain.” She yawned a little, her fingers running through her hair to try and shove it out of her face, the strands pissing her off immensely.

“Yeah, best if we just stick around here for a bit. You’re welcome to remain however long you want, Becca.” Grinning just a bit towards Becca, she was glad when the ‘tender brought her a steak, hoping it helped with the vampire taste that had probably lingered.

Hearing the door open, she groaned and glanced over, ignoring his comment about what had obviously happened. Figuring it didn’t deserve a response, Gabby’s eyes scanned the male as the bartender got to work fixing up his drink. After a moment however, she glanced away and rubbed her eyes with another huge yawn. She decided that if he started to even act like he was going to be trouble, she would have John toss him out on his keister. She was not in the mood to have another huge fight, that was for sure. The mutant was slightly irritated to say the least and when he sauntered over towards her and asked about Akshasha, she couldn’t help but wonder if her fate just sucked or something. Deciding it was none of his business if the Drow had been around, the teenager kept her face stoic and picked up the glass of water, sipping on it again.

“If you don’t mind, I am in the middle of an important meeting with this young lady. You’ll have to excuse me, sir.” Turning towards Becca, she just started to talk to her about what a waitress would need to do in Gambit’s, pretending to hire her. Really, she just wanted that guy to piss off although she was curious why he was searching for Akshasha.

Ulrish Paternosta slipped in with the shadows, taking notes. He was in his formal military dress, and for once his hair was slicked into a ponytail. He feared the rumors were true, but had more to investigate.

He approached Ms. Lebeau, standing off to the side until she was available to give him her attention. In the mean time, Ulrich ordered a glass of Blud.

Becca laughed though after a moment winced, "Ha ha ow... Well it's not like I have anywhere to go. After I got shotgunned they closed up my apartment and boxed my stuff. I had Jinhai pop it out of storage and move it to the cottage in Genesis. Nice place... no night life... or night for that matter. It's like just a bit before noon, forever."

"I really need to figure out how to get internet there now," Becca added her eyes looking away for a moment.

Then her steak arrived with a bottle of steak sauce, "Woo! Thanks. The steak sauce isn't for this kind of dead meat though."

Becca then made small talk with Gabby noting she'd need a room to sleep in rather than commute from Genesis every day. A meandering tongue-in-cheek conversation about family benefits for her and the mote swarm. Periodically stopping to cut a piece of steak and carefully edging the bit in on a fork. Once didn't get stolen a few times more eaten normally.

However a mouthless face made of dust poured out of the back of her head and the laced pattern around her shoulders. The yellow-eyes of the Ductu pointing at with two long claw-fingers then gestured at Swan. Ductu looked at the Ulrich fellow standing nearby with a critical eye then slipped back into Becca. Silty dust clouds vanish into her pale skin though faint flat yellow eyes look out the back from Becca's head just underneath her hair.

Becca just looked up with her patina eyes to one corner, "Agh, oh that's a weird feeling. You trying to braid my hair?"

There was an unspoken silence as Ductu mentioned the two around her and Becca commented, "Really? I thought I smelled absinthe but I guess not."

Becca continued the interrupted conversation about waitress uniforms and whether she could use pepper spray for the grabby ones.

Akio smiled, sitting in his bean bag chair that might seem out of place, but somehow the atmosphere around him indicated something else. From what he was hearing, it seemed that things would be going in a way desirable for him. Public acknowledgement gave him the ability to run large labs without having to move around a lot, and secrecy would let him get the harder to access items and ingredients he needed.

Indeed, if one wanted to be technical, they could say that Akio had always been operating in both the day and night, given his constant desire to get more test subjects and keep a supply of fresh blood.

"I for one, find this proposal to be quite agreeable. After all, we cannot just submit, go back to hiding and waste all this effort, but we also cannot forget our roots, our heritage".

Incidentally, Akio was actually one of the oldest vampires present, well over one thousand years old. Because of that, there were a number of younger vampires that looked older who, despite hte way he acted, treated him like a superior already due to being alive for so long.

And of course, he also had three servants that came with him, his most loyal retainers.

"As for the traitors, if you could so kindly bring them to me alive, I would be happy to make good use of them. After all, getting test subjects is something I always could use help in".

Showing his fangs in a smile, he looked around at the others and he raised a glass of blood.

"After all, we are the Detente, the Masquerade, and whatever we wish to be. Our public goal is equality and respect, but everyone here should not delude themselves. Our private goal is quite simple, we take what we want, and we keep it no matter who tries to get in our way. We are a greedy, gluttonous people who simply wish to fufill our desires".

Although some might feel chills go down their spines when they heard Akio speak like this, one couldn't really say he was wrong either. And yet, one might just get the feeling he had more desires then most.

Akio meanwhile, not so much lurked, but at the moment his pressence felt so miniscule, he could be easily overlooked and forgotten about that he was there. That was all intentional of course, as he was there not to make a scene, but help a fellow vampire with an investigation. With him was a portable lab to run all sorts of tests and experiments, interestingly enough it came with an operating room as well, but surely no one would be concerned by that right?

That said, for now he decided to let the others make the first move, as he wanted to see their investigative abilities and also....well, he was keeping an eye out for any nameless and worthless thugs and criminals around that he could "procure" as test subjects.

Ulrich flashed his tongue at the Ductu and smiled with closed lips. He turned to Akio and gave a slight bow.

Gather any forensics. Hostiles of our kind may have broken the treaty; the law.” Ulrich whispered to Akio, turning his attention back to Ms. Lebeau.

“Excoos me, ma’am, a moment a two of ya valuable time? Ulrich Paternosta, at yer service.”

Hearing footsteps nearing her location, Gabrielle felt her shoulders tensing up just a little. Glancing out of the corner of her eye to find the source of the noise, she spotted an individual in a military type outfit and wondered what he wanted. When he didn’t quite approach her, she just ignored him for the moment and returned her attention towards Becca. “You don’t have anywhere to live except a cottage? Isn’t that lonely…?” Gabby frowned a little and bit on her bottom lip before making a snap decision as they continued to talk.

“Okay, if you want, you can waitress for me and have a room upstairs in the hotel part of the building. It all belongs to us anywho. That way you don’t have to travel and I get some help and potentially backup and a friend.” Wow, she was beginning to sound desperate, but it was the truth, she wouldn’t mind a friend. “Mmm… pepper spray? Naw, shouldn’t need it.” Smirking, she started to say more when the one that had moved close to her, but hadn’t spoken to her yet whispered to someone else she hadn’t noticed. Grumping as she peered over towards the quite Akio, she finally glanced at the male who soon introduced himself as Ulrich Paternosta.

“Erm… hi. The name is Gabrielle LeBeau. What can I do for you?” Where were these people coming from?

Becca's eyes gleamed at Gabby, "I'll have to find a nice skirt! I was laid up for weeks growing a heart and lung that didn't take but they built the forest and cottage for me. Lonely yeah but it's not so bad for vacation. It'll be good to see people again!"

"No locks on the cottage but it's in range of big daddy worm's ire and said I could keep it, " She leaned back as Gabby greeted Ulrich, "Tho' if I got licorice flavored meatloaf knocking at the door it wouldn't be me that eats you."

Becca remarked upside down arched back to look at Swan, "These ones are polite. There's still a bone left of the impolite ones if you want one. Over there on the bar though I may have nibbled at lot."

She shot up in a coughing fit her hand on her mouth the stretch irritating bits of her innards. After a moment inspecting a slimy bauble in it.

"Oh. eww. I'm gonna have to remember to take out the metal bits next time, " She said with the clatter of a sapphire gold earring to the bar.

A faint voice of Ductu replied from her hair, "The iron your concordance can use for blood. gold and silicon is worthless."

"Pfft. Maybe to you, Ducky, " Said Becca bemused at her inner companion while looking at the corner of her eyes.

Swan's eyes glittered, refusing to back down from Gabrielle, after all.... She knew Akshasha, and he wasn't used to being denied. "Actually m'belle, I do mind. Ya see, you appear to know my daughter, and I'd appreciate a bit of information about that... If'n ya don't mind. Aren't tavern owners supposed to be wellsprings of information?"

The justicar turned a cursory eye towards the girl that Gabby was talking to, then turned back to the bar owner. "I'd hate to strong arm you, but I really need to know and..." The man's nostrils flared slightly, taking in the scent of the wounded people nearby. "Well, to be blunt ya don't really seem ta be in fightin' condition. J'ai feel?"

A slight glance was given to Ulrich, then to Akio, followed by a barely notable nod. They had just been at a council meeting together, it was no wonder they'd arrived so shortly after Swan. Their alliance was tentative, but strong enough for now. The Kine were outnumbered for now, though Swan didn't intend to break the Masquerade... One way or another.

"So... about your Drow friend... I can tell yer a busy gal, I promise I'll make this quick."

Ulrich did his best to give a warm smile, his crooked teeth and fangs being shown. He gestured to the bar where the bone Gabrielle mentioned may be, noting for Akio where he may want to begin with the forensics. Ulrich reached up to his ear and clicked on a recording device.

"Miss Gabrielle LeBeau, pleasure's mahn. News travels fast, an' i've received intel o' hostility involvin' vampires. Critters o' the night," He withdrew from his vest a thin black envelope, sealed with wax pressed with the Vankoryth Detente crest. Within was an invitation to a dinner party, to be held on the next new moon at Castle Vankoryth. He put it on the table and resumed his at ease positioning.

"The Vankoryth Detente sends condolence's fer yer troubles. If there's anything yeh need, please don't hes'tate to ask. May I ask yeh a few questions, regardin' the incident?" Ulrich cleared his throat and began.

"Were any vampires involved in the incident, as aggressors or otherwise?"

Gabrielle made a note to officially welcome Becca to the team later on once things calmed down. If things ever calmed down, which didn’t look too promising with everyone coming around and poking their noses where they don’t belong. Speaking of noses, where the hell did John go? Grumping, the teenager made a face when Becca coughed up what appeared to be an earring that had belonged to one of the bastards that were attempting to kill them. Biting a bit on the inside of her cheek to keep her anger in check, Gabrielle found her attention shifting from Ulrich back to Swan who was being an impatient little fuck.

Her eyes narrowed towards him, the redness that generally remained hidden behind the violet shade becoming more prominent at his words. She slowly slid up to her feet and pressed both hands against the table before pushing back her shoulders in order to look squarely at him. No one threatened her in her own bar.

“Excuse you. You’ll be wise not to threaten me. Looks can be deceiving after all. If you’re wanting a fight, believe me, you’re barking up the wrong tree because I have a lot of fire left in me and I will not be intimidated by the likes of you. I’m not giving you any information and I don’t care who you are. If you want info, go find your daughter and ask her.” Her eyes glowed just a little and it was taking all her strength to keep the accent from slipping in, as it tended to do when she was pissed off. Her attention shifted from Swan back towards Ulrich as he started to talk to her. Briefly flicking her eyes towards the envelope that was placed on the table, the Mutant squeezed the bridge of her nose to stave off the migraine that was starting. Who the hell were the Vankoryth Détente and why did they care about the bar being attacked by the Sabbat? Nothing made sense and she felt like she was thrown into a weird movie without a script to follow.

“Uhrm… Why so interested in Vampires? Why does the Vankoryth Détente care about the attack and what’s this got to do with me?” She realized instead of answering his question, she asked her own, but damn it, she wanted to know what the hell was going on.

Becca spun around on her stool to face them all easier patting Gabby's arm to try and comfort, "Leave her alone she's had a rough enough day. Now I don't know the other lady but I'll tell you what: you two have bigger problems she's wasn't even involved in. How about a quote from one of the four black armored bastards. I'll even look it up in the Almanac so Gabby doesn't have to get a worse headache."

Hand stretched out in front of her as if cradling the spine of a book one flumped into existence a thing of her mind's eye. Only a general idea how to touch it for her own memories much of the rest still entirely foreign. Not that other people could see the thing rendered in her head that made showing stuff a problem. Gestures flip pages backward through time in midair a squirming pseudo text on each page. interspersed under her focus by coarse outlines of mental images displayed. A rough sense of visual landmarks among her own memories. Finally to the beach where that sunrise was by its anchored radial image. A pale finger drifts over some line in midair as moments of time rose to the fore.

Her voice someone else's unknowingly playing back the voice of a dying sabbat using her own dusty throat,"It shan't end with us. Your home will be plagued by both the Sabbat and Camarilla now. Same with Myrkul and all Her followers. The Bar wasn't protected under thy rules, this' be a declaration of war."

One of her glowing patina irises flickers trying to find her train of thought staring at the emblem on the black envelope. Things were rooting around in her head to look at the image scattering words away from her tongue. Myrkul must have seen it before. The slow pressure felt like someone's cold metal finger poking a random spots in her brain.

An eyebrow raised in a flash of worry but Becca's own voice continued at Ulrich, "Vamps called it out by name then declared war. I think Myrkul accepted. If you're not somewhere just above Khorne on the big critter to-do list now I'll be damn surprised."

Akio just nodded at his fellow kin, and decided to get to work...although he did so discreetly, and did not make a big scene, to avoid any conflict or confusion while the others dealt with each other. Making sure to utilize the powers of the Nightingale's Wand, he did not just make himself turn invisible, but rather surrounded himself with a charm that would make others naturally take less notice of him, or even just not notice him completely. It was as if he had no pressence at all, which was a lot more discreet then going poof.

Of course, whether it was necessary to do this or not, who could say. But either way, with the exception of Ulrich who he specified in his spell to not be affected, and any other vampire he recognized, Akio figured it was best in case the criminal was still around, or had other people watching. Information control could be key in this investigation. Now, he just needed to search over this place, to find any and all clues and traces at the crime scene left behind by the culprit, including any blood. If he dripped a single drop of blood, even if it was cleaned away, Akio could find some trace of it. And Akio would definently be able to tell it was the right blood, as he had sharpened his senses to be able to tell how fresh blood was to a shockingly specific degree.

Becca reached into her hoodie to pull out a cell phone with only a few cracks in the front. Though they slowly vanished now that she held the brushed heather metal framing the device. It flicked on much the same way lacking obvious buttons. She'd had the Jinhai make a few changes like the ferroplasm frame and basically charged it by eating. Screen lit from underneath the UI displaying recorded videos without a touch. It'd begun to respond to spoken commands of her inner voice when she got the new heart.

She loaded a video she'd taken at the small cottage, "I've heard posts mentioning about this Vankoryth Detente but there's a lot of hearsay. I took video when I was in Genesis for a while."

Video displayed sideways she held it up to Ulrich and the play button turned blue. Shaky at first it displayed her bare midriff the raised up a bit to show a thickly layered empty crater of lucent webbing a throbbing red heart thumping away. Layers pulled inward as her lungs retracted some of the webbing. She rose up and spun the camera to the window she was under a lithe yellow eyed female figure looking on near the door.

In the distance a dense cloudy horizon did not curve away but drifted aimlessly unbroken by terrain. One could see a single massive mountain wreathed in a dark column forming the whole of the grassy plane's presence of altitude. Easily hundreds of kilometers away the mountain looked tiny if not for the large black obelisks and recognizable human buildings manufactured upon the surface nearby. Then a single spark eye sized larger than the buildings below broke the cloud layer. Then the other three as Myrkul's careful expression of curiosity noticed Becca's small camera among violent disturbances of clouds. flat surface of that rising murky column proved a worm clung to that sturdy edifice. The curve above shading clouds hid easily a dozen its width in length. It loomed below the clouds four inferno of grey spark-eyes fixated on the camera.

The phone recorded only Becca's side of a conversation, "It takes video! ... Because my cortical implant isn't that expensive. Uh... a Brain tool? Yes, it thinks for my eyes so I can see.... no, severe corneal dystrophy, it's genetic."

She stopped the video and put it back into her pocket, "You could try finding one of the white robed guys to talk up at north main street. Uh, the cultist-looking ones in black, Jinhai, might shoot at you now."

"Cultists?", came a curious voice from her hair.

"Pfft, yep. That's what they look like!" Came Becca's grinning response to Ducky.

“If yeh don’t mind,” Ulrich asked after the clip was complete, “Wha’ sorta hearinasay?” He pulled out a small tablet device, taking notes. He didn’t quite understand what he had just seen, but he figured it was important.

Gabrielle was grateful for Becca taking over the conversation, because frankly, she was feeling like shit and didn’t want to deal with anymore drama. Exhaling deeply, though she returned her gaze towards Swan just in case he wanted to start something, the mutant let her newfound bud explain things to Ulrich. Why did things have to happen while she was busy looking for Renee? More importantly, were things happening because she was looking for her sister and someone didn’t want them to reconnect? Realizing that was probably stupid, the teen forced herself to remain focused on the conversation, not wanting to miss out on anything. Unfortunately, she zoned out through most of it, but knew she could ask Becca about things later.

“I don’t know of the standing agreement, no. I left Wing City when I was younger to go model and shortly after I returned I was kidnapped, tortured, and brainwashed before being rescued. I only just got back and am actually looking for my stupid sister. So, nope, don’t know anything other than what the attackers said to us today.” Shrugging a little, Gabrielle returned to being quiet, letting Ulrich and Becca talk while hoping to find out more information.

Becca nodded at Gabrielle, "Hell, Gabby... I had it easy getting a shotgun to the chesticles. After she scraped me up was out cold until Ducky fixed up a lot later. Glad you got out okay though. Ducky doesn't need to sleep so you'll be harder to shanghai as long as we're around!"

Shrugging at Ulrich she replied, "Mostly stuff clearly lifted from video games but there's a few references of them being a vampire costco to not have some truth to it. There's a few forums digging through shell corporations that found really old traces. Most of them say not to approach the goths unless you have a small army."

Tapping her chin she thought it over, "Their black armor, hmm, right."

Ulrich had advanced on his plan, and Swan was all too aware of the recent agreement between the Camarilla and the Detente, having only recently came from the meeting. Flustered, but unwilling to openly break the treaty, he backed away from Gabby. In the grand scheme of things, it mattered not. Akshasha would come to him in due time. Besides, new people had filtered in. Ones who might cause a disruption or spread news of what happened should he choose to act.

It seemed petty threats would not be enough to sway Gabrielle, and unfortunately... the treaty. Letting out a low growl from deep in the chest, Swan walked away and sat on a bar stool. Making a mental note of Becca and Gabrielle, for later use, he sat quietly and let Ulrich finish his investigation. Akio was scampering around, picking up what minute evidence of the event that he could. Evidently the Sabbat had launched an attack on the bar, probably due to his childe's presence. Presumably she had also been called away on that same note.

He left out a hearty "Hah!" when the kine but not kine called the Detente a Vampire Costco. Little did she know, that fact was more correct then she knew. They had all kinds of Vampiric goodies that weren't produced anywhere else, like Blud. He had to leave soon, but for now he'd sit and enjoy the recount of another failed Sabbat assault.

A figure would step into the room escorted by two finely dressed armed knights bearing the Lessard Crest. Although dressed modern, she had what could almost be called ancient eyes. Each step was purposeful and direct before she came to the table and spoke in an English Accent, "You all of you lack decorum to not invite any of the Lessards to this shambles you call a meeting. Well, fortunately, my schedule is not full and also because this needs to be addressed." she indicates to her Knights to remove their helmets before turning her red eyes to Zosimos, "You really thought we would not find out? You really thought you could end one of the oldest Hunter Lines without consequences? I would ask if you are just dimwitted or just a fucking spastic, but I know why you did it and finally, you are reaping what you sow."

She would gesture for one of the knights to speak, "Sir Lauden, you tell these cretins please what you were told." the Knight nodded approaching the table, his very presence regal, "As I explained Dutchess Hazel, one of the Thralls informed us that the girlfriend of Maria Van-Helsing has been encouraged to take up arms by another. We do believe they intend to end this experiment."

The red-haired girl with such fiery barbs laughed darkly, "I do believe a human expression comes to mind here. The chickens have come to roost. Zosimos as representative of the Lessard Family it is deemed your offence is so great and endangers us all that you should be made to answer for this slight. Thus I call for Noctem Judicii where you will be able to answer for this insanity and prove whether you should be spared. If you refuse..." she paused turned to the Knight said something in French before seemingly agreeing and remarking, "Then by Decree of the Lessard Family you are exiled for your crimes against our kind and the utter reckless endangerment. To think Casren put you in charge, and now you bring a war to our kind." scowling she draws out a handkerchief and blow her nose before continuing, "Daemala Tauvyr as the actual leader of Detente you must understand what he did endangers our kind?" she asked her voice suddenly gentle even adorable, "Who will second me so we confirm this and move on to more important affairs?"

  1. Where did everyone go??

A daydream was one thing when you were doing it but it was another when someone pushed a memory into your visual cortex. Becca's patina-colored eyes dimmed as Ducky dragged a memory forth of the woman in question. Bloodied and healing Becca at that moment was too out of sorts to remember. The motes of both her and the Ductu could see just fine though the volume outside Becca's vision was drained of much detail. The memory went on repeat as Ductu held in place a particular moment of time 'What brings you out here Lacroix? What brings you out here Lacroix? What brings you out here Lacroix?' A Pale blonde-headed guy in the suit left three times with the other woman to the blurry overlaid moment. Becca waved her hands in front of her trying to push the thought away so she could think again. The loop relented and her cortical implant reset to the outside world as the Ductu let go.

Becca blinked a few times as a status window appeared in her vision from self-testing, "Agh, Ducky, let me know before you do that my cortical implant shuts down."

"If you were trained you could safely control that yourself," Came the yellow-eyed reply from her hair.

With a shake of her head to clear the muddle Becca noted to Swan, "Look, what's her name left with the creepy pale blond guy. Lacroix. I've never seen him before but he's probably team You Guys. Go bug him. Gabby's tired and there's customers I should probably get to."

While Becca didn't know whether the lady was a friend of Gabby's or not she thought it more important for these guys to go away. It suddenly occurred to her that the men were both dangerous but for some reason it didn't matter. Something was flattening her emotions but it didn't feel like Ducky was doing it. The lithe creature riding her was protectively eying the both of them and not messing with her head anymore.

Zosimos began to laugh, but a swift motion from Daemala's gloved hand had his building roar silenced in an instant. Her gaze flit around the room, resting on the Ulrich. Terun, however, sensed something very familiar about the Lessard newcomers. He stuck to his spot and silence, wondering why he was awash with such an uncomfortable feeling.

"Ridiculo-" Hissed Zosimos, cut off in an instant and frozen on the spot. The only part of the old vampire which remained mobile were his eyes, locked in an instant with Ulrich. The two were engaged in an internal power struggle. Ulrich could keep Zosimos still, but not for long. Several members of the Forces Vankoryth entered the Room of Reason, positioning themselves around Zosimos, ready to engage. They nodded at the Knights of the Lessards, granting them permission to intervene if necessary.

"A trial," Daemala was doing her best to hide a smile. Just minutes ago Zosimos held the floor. She would have to play her cards carefully so as not to lose what favor he gained.

"A trial. for indeed the reason for our return to the Masquerade and the reason for all of this toe-tipping, the very actions of you. Zosimos," She turned to face the room, no longer hiding her grin. She first addressed Akio.

"First, we, of course, must present a trial. After which, I trust, you have a system ready for what to do with those found....guilty, yes?" Daemala next looked to Lacroix, "As soon as you have a list of these fugitives, the damage doers who hide in our dark asylum, we will begin taking action. Ulrich and Reisel, you will assist Prince Lacroix in whatever he needs so that damage must be undone."

Ulrich had turned a new shade of pale, both him and Zosimos quivering. Daemala took her seat, having said her bit and wishing to get on with it all already. There was a quick scuffle as Ulrich released Zosimos, and he was apprehended. It would take a close observer to see the syringe as it released into Zosimos, doing nothing aside nullifying his shapeshifting and shadow-blending powers. It would last long enough to get him to containment.

Obscenities were spat, a chair was sadly broken, three tapestries hit the ground ripped, and Terun didn't come out from under the table until the door had shut on Ulrich, Zosimos, and his escorts.

"What about the dinner party?" Terun asked quietly. Daemala ignored him and took her leave, curtsying the royalty and giving respectful nods to the rest. Everyone could sort out whatever from here, she assumed. All she cared was that she was recognized as the leader of the Vankoryth Detente, pesky Zosimos was out of her way, and there was dinner party that needed a change in arrangements. On her way out she nearly toppled over a courier, who had a note regarding a new energy disturbance somewhere in the Cursed Wood. Daemala could scream.
