There was but a whisper of sound as Talitha entered into the bar from the alley. The door was closed behind her and the promethean stood off to the side while peeking out a window as if someone were following her. The dim light of the bar illuminated the colorless woman, showing her exotic features.

Talitha's hair hung straight and was white as new snow. Her skin was pale and smooth without a single blemish. The woman seemed devoid of color for even her eyes were white, though they were ringed in black. She wore simple clothes that were less than non-descript. If it were not for her albino appearance, Talitha could easily have been a face to forget in passing.

Her arm hung at her side, useless and out of socket. If there was pain, Talitha did not show it but kept her ears and eyes open while listening for whatever had caused her to take refuge.

Two shadows passed by the windows and Talitha turned to press her back up against the wall. Her could feel her heart pounding in her chest while her eyes took note of her surrounding. A two males, two females, and herself. The shadows moved and Talitha watched out of the corner of her eerie eyes.

When they disappeared, the promethean shifted herself on the wall and made way to the nearest able body, Xvander.

"I need to borrow your hands," Talitha stated to him while her eyes fluttered by the smallest possible fraction out of intense pain.

"I have a dislocated shoulder and need another body to help me relocate it," Talitha snapped before a shuddering breath was released from between her teeth. Only the most keen of eyes would be able to spot the shaking her shoulders did.

"If you don't want to help, I will find someone else to do it," the promethean stated, capturing a sob of pain in her throat before it could be born into the air.

"Wait, stop," Talitha wanted to say but her jaw had clenched down to stop her screams. He was taking her arm into his hands and before she could jerk away her limb, the man had tugged on it, hard. There was an awful crunch and snap. Stars errupted in Talitha's vision and she dropped onto her knees immediately with a grunt and she fell backward. The promethean writhed around in obvious pain, her feet sliding against the floor.

"Idiot," Talitha breathed out before a scream tore from her lips, finally unable to withstand much more pain. Her back arched and while several muscles spasmed in the sheer agony of her shoulder being broken by the man.

A major tendon had been snapped while a muscle had been ripped. A bone had been broken while fractures now littered through her joints. He had caused far more damage attempting to fix it than Talitha realized. Her shoulder was ruined and filling with fluid, forcing it to swell.

"Sit. Put your foot under the joint where the arm meets shoulder," Talitha said before she swallowed another cry of pain. Her white eyes grew watery but a tear never fell. "Lean back while pulling ... slow. Pull arm slow." Talitha's jaw clenched once again while a foot slammed down on the ground. Her back arched again but she began to relax, bit by bit as the unknown toxin began to circulate through her blood.

There came a low and sickening pop as the joint was relocated. Even with the toxin running through her veins, Talitha let out another harrowing scream at the top of her lungs. Her opposite arm instantly groped at the other while the promethean stared up at the ceiling.

For a minute which seemed to span into an eternity, Talitha just laid there, not speaking.

"Take off my shirt," she demanded after the minute had passed. An odd request for a man she had just met. Little did Xvander know that another shirt laid beneath her outer blouse.

"Use it as a sling."

When Xvander had left, the promethean sat up and shuffled toward the wall to sit against it. Talitha closed her eyes until the man reappeared once more with medical supplies. There was no longer anymore pain but she knew that her shoulder still needed to be slung before it healed improperly.

She opened her eyes and studied Xvander's face for a moment, her expression giving away nothing of her observations. The promethean showed him, with her other hand, the directions to wrap the tape and gauze around her arm to secure it in place. The arm needed to be bound against her torso while the wrist needed to be immobilized as well with the aid of her neck.

"What is your name," Talitha asked him, watching the man closely and almost suspiciously.

"I owe you a service for a service," Talita stated before rising to her feet. It seemed the woman did not have much to say unless it was something that needed to be said.

"You will see me again," she said in a matter-of-fact tone before lowing her head toward him in a small bow of appreciation. "When I have healed, you will seek me out in this very place."

She turned to the door and left Xvander standing there, making a most mysterious entrance and exit.

There the promthean stood in the middle of the stone walkway, staring at the abandoned manor which had once been so full of life. She took another step forward and the grass of the garden shivered as something slithered along the ground.

Talitha tore her eyes away from the house and looked down at her bandaged shoulder, and the make shift sling. Turning to her right, the promethean plucked an apple so red that it appeared black, from a tree.

The promethean was about to bite into it but instead, her attention was drawn towards Lady Une Drive.

"You've followed me, it seems," Talitha said in a dull tone. It was not a tone that was bored, but it just seemed devoid of originality, as if it was just a generic sound to fill a purpose of communication.

"I would not walk further until I invite you to the manor," the promethean warned before she drew her gaze toward the grass which was moving in a more aggressive manner. It stopped just at the edge of the pathway where Xvander stood. Another step and the creature that lurked beneath was going to strike at him with paralytic poisons.

"Why are you here," Talitha asked.

"Of course you did not," Talitha stated while drawing near to Xvander. She walked until there was only a foot between them in distance. The black apple was still held in her hand while her arm laid loosely at her side. The other was still bound in the makeshift sling that Xvander had made with her guidance.

"This is a Promethean garden and everything here is alien to, not just this world, but this entire demension," Talitha informed her unexpected guest. She looked to the side and using her tongue, Talitha made several low and high pitched clicking sounds with her tongue. A voice that was not hers answered in the same manner before a serpent creature slithered over the stones. It resembled a snake with scales like the blades of grass it laid in, but when it crossed the stone, its skin became stone, before turning back into the grass it was before when it reached the other side.

"You are now invited and welcome to the Borealis Manor. Tell me, what are your interests, Xvander," Talitha asked him, tilting her head to the side with ivory hair sliding against her shoulders.

The promethean looked Xvander over in full from his shoes to his eyes after stopping her walk toward the abandoned manor. She tucked the black apple into her pocket before she finally offered her name.

"Talitha Borealis," she spoke before placing two chaste touches of her lips to each side of his face. It was done ritualistically and out of respect for Xvander as well as the custom of her people.

"The name does not hold much power any longer seeing as my family has all but disappeared. They have been gone for years," Talitha said with a wide gesture to the unattended garden. It was attempting to swallow the stone fence along with the manor in front of them.

"Take what you will," Talitha said while stepping outside of the pathway's boundaries and onto the grass. A vine with deep purple leaves like star bursts reached out to her and Talitha reached out to it. The plant shivered in pleasure and the aroma of the garden grew more prevelant.

"I cannot say that they will grow for you," the promethean stated, pointing with her white eyes to how the plants appeared to lean away from Xvander. She never did take his arm but Talitha did not move far from him either.

"I belong here," Talitha said. "This is my home, the Borealis Manor that once held the great Promethean families of Media, Australis, Borealis, and Vega. They are gone now, returned to where they had come from and to the time period where they belong. The ones that were here were more primitive than myself. I am their descendant of several generations. My great-great-great grandmother was Norma Borealis, Primus of the Canum Venaticorum and Empress of the Prometheans. They were, what Terrans call a 'mob' family. The Canum is no more and neither is the power of the Borealis family."

"Prometheans are alien to this world. We once held magic, given to us by our patron god, Prometheus. However, that magic sank deep into our bones and warped us into something more-than-human," Talitha said before turning around to face Xvander.

She no longer looked like Talitha, but resembled Xvander himself though with female traits in an extact carbon copy.

Talitha's features bled until they were her earlier appearance once more (for there was no telling what was her 'true appearance' or if it was humanoid at all). "And why should I agree with this offer," the promethean said, skeptically, before asking, "What do I have to gain from such a partnership?"

"The price I am going to ask is even too high for you. It is impossible to accomplish and it has nothing to do with material gain," Talitha said before walking past the man back onto the stone path. She drew the apple from her pocket, holding it before her eyes.

"For a thing to grow and flourish, it must be planted in the soil with a seed. That seed needs to be nurished and given chance to grow before it blooms and creates its own fruit. When that fruit falls from the tree, it travels back to the earth and returns more seed to give more life than came before it," the promethean said, cryptically before she bit into the apple, staining her lips a shade more red.

"A child," Talitha said while looking to the manor. "A Promethean child." There was a tense moment of silence as the woman continued to stare at the hollow house before she looked down at the apple and it's blood red filling.

"You cannot give me a Promethean child while I am the only one surviving. It is impossible," Talitha said before the fruit rolled out of her hand and bounced into the grass, disappearing.

Perhaps some things were meant to die.

"And if you do not achieve that goal," Talitha asked, "What then will you be able to give me in equal payment to stoke the flame of my species which is quickly dying? What then, will you give me for services already rendered?" It was a fair question. Talitha was not going to offer herself without equal payment in return.

Talitha's eyes lowered to the revealed claw and her colorless eyes narrowed. "A revelation such as this makes one wonder if anything is as it appears," the Promethean said before looking to Xvander's eyes.

"Your terms are acceptable. Even if not fullblood, it would still be Promethean, and my species would linger for many more generations before dying out," Talitha said before she nodded.

"You have my services and loyalty for as long as you can sustain your end of our bargain."

Talitha walked toward Xvander, watching him with a steady gaze, and passed him while saying, "I know nothing of you, Xvander." She went to the fruit bearing tree and pluck another ebony apple from its boughs.

"Collect samples of my garden as you please," the Promethean stated, "None of them are hostile and the guardian knows that you are not an enemy. He'll not bother you and do not listen to what he may have to say." For the first time a smile rose on her lips before Talitha turned her face from him.
