Tas Una'mee

Shipmaster Una'mee of the CCS battlecruiser Holy Justice

0 · 375 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by mad_gater

Description

In an AU HALO-verse, Tas Una'mee is a Sangheili Zealot and the Shipmaster of the Covenant CCS battlecruiser Holy Justice. He made peaceful first contact with the humans at the Harvest colony world and was pleased to learn that they were the Reclaimers, the descendants of the Forerunners, as were the rest of the Sangheili when they learned of this contact. The Jiralhanae and the San'Shyuum, however, were not, as these humans being the descendants of the Forerunners would threaten the authoritarian power they were currently wielding over the Covenant's members. The Jiralhanae and the San'Shyuum, who shared Doisac, the homeworld of the Jiralhanae, sent a fleet in attempt to destroy the Harvest colony world. Tas and the rest of his people would have none of that and a battle ensued, over which Tas and his Sangheili fleet were victorious in space and also on the ground assisting the humans. Tas and the Sangheili now help the humans fight the Covenant and are also ona quest to discover the true nature of the ringworlds built by the Forerunners known simply by the Covenant as "Halos."

Personality

Tas generally is a Sangheili who has a reputation for being calm and collected in battle and for being honorable in combat, such as leaving non-combatants alone. Tas only resorts to the use of force as a last resort, which likely was the reason first contact with the humans went peacefully. He is, however, one of the tallest and strongest of his race. Any who dare cross him soon realize their folly as they find themselves impaled on his energy blade. He is also a loving husband and devoted father who seeks to pass on his fighting skills to his children, so that no matter what they decide to do in life they may know how to defend themselves.

Equipment

Tas has a body armor with advanced energy shielding that can even take a direct hit from a plasma grenade, though the generator would have to recharge, an energy blade, and also plasma rifle (when out in the battlefield) and is proficient in the use of most other Covenant weaponry as well and is quickly learning how to use human weaponry too and carries a 10-round UNSC pistol capable of firing AP rounds.

History

Tas was born on the Sangheili homeworld of Sanghelios. In his early childhood years his father began to teach him all he knew about survival and combat. When he reached adolescence he underwent a Rite of Passage that involved a team of himself and a few of his fellow peers setting up camp in the wilderness and simply surviving. The wilderness of Sanghelios contained predators, such as Sharquoi, that even the Sangheili found difficult to match in combat. But Tas and his team emerged victorious and were assigned as minors in the Covenant fleet. From there Tas moved up in the ranks somewhat quickly and in 7 years was made a zealot and a shipmaster and was assigned to command the CCS battlecruiser Holy Justice and ordered to the sector near harvest to begin searching for Forerunner artifacts. Seeing that the Luminary (device for detecting Forerunner or Forerunner-related objects or lifesigns) detected millions of artifacts on Harvest, he assigned a team of SpecOps warriors to land on the planet and make some field observations. From the results of said observations, Tas quickly surmised that the shipboard Luminary was somehow tagging the humans as Forerunner objects. He looked through the Holy texts and found that the symbol displayed by the Luminary was the symbol for "Reclaimer," a symbol that detects and labels those from the race chosen by the Forerunners as those who would one day reclaim the Forerunner legacy. Tas nearly fainted when he found out. Tas and the Sangheili have befriended the humans, though at the cost of their place in the Covenant, which they now fight against, with the Lekgolo and Unggoy as allies against the San'Shyuum, Jiralhanae, and Yanme'e and the Huragok as a neutral party.

So begins...

Tas very slowly, so as not to startle her, walked up to the child. "This is no place for a child, young Reclaimer. Can I help you?"

Tas looked over at the showgirl and snorted. If she thinks I find arrogance and pretentiousness attractive she's got another think comin' and besides I'm quite taken already.

Getting no response from the young girl, Tas reasoned that she might be afraid of his appearance. He did generally present a fearsome appearance even when not angry and fighting. So, as gently as possible he tried again to gain the young girls trust he said: "I mean you no harm, child. I may look fearsome but I only fight enemies and you don't look like an enemy to me. My name is Tas Una'mee," said tas, holding out his hand for the girl to shake, as he knew this was how humans greeted each other.

Tas looked away from the girl for a minute to answer Triina. "If you mean me, then no, I don't plan to use them, not unless I have to to defend myself and any innocent that might be in harm's way. Will that be a problem?"

Tas sighed. He wondered what the girl was afraid of. He remembered from his conversations with other humans that sometimes discussions over a meal could be an icebreaker. "Are you hungry?" he asked of the girl.

Tas sighed, realizing he was going to get nowhere with the young girl right now. "I'm sorry if I startled you then. My voice does sound evil doesn't it? It's because the language of humans doesn't mix well with people like us who are used to a language more guttural sounding," said Tas, who then left the girl in her hiding place and went back to his drink.

As Tas drank he kept a wary eye out for any who would dare harm an innocent child. He had children of his own and would gladly give his own life to defend them from harm.

Tas sighed when his acute hearing picked up the girl's muffled scream. He wasn't surprised that humans didn't trust his kind easily, since some of his kind still loyal to the Covenant were responsible for glassing many human worlds.

Tas sighed. He hated that nickname. "I have a name you know. And what's it look like I'm doing? Having a drink," said tas with his usual calm demeanor.

Tas then turned around and saw that this wasn'ta woman he met before. "My apologies. I thought you were someone else. I mean you no harm, human. I do not agree with the Covenant. So me and my wife and children struck out on our own and found this place. My name is Tas," said Tas

Tas heard the sneeze and looked over at the place where the young girl was hidden and his mandibles opened in surprised as he saw not a girl but a horse. A shapeshifter? thought Tas with confusion.

After Tas got over his astonishment at watching her shift form (now back into her little girl form), He went back to scanning the bar along with Christine after they both sensed that things were about to hit the fan. He thought he saw the telltale shimmer of an active cloaking device similar to the ones some of his SpecOps brethren use but he couldn't be sure whether this cloaked person was friendly or an enemy nor if it wasn't just a figment of his imagination.

"Indeed," said Tas. "I'd hoped it was a figment of my imagination. But unfortunately I fear trouble may have found us here."

Tas had seen the shapeshifter move to help. He motioned for her to stay hidden for now, knowing that she could be more valuable taking their mutual opponent out by surprise if necessary.
