Molly was most certainly enjoying herself, a good book in her hands, in the gardens of the palace, nose buried deep in tales she hadn't read yet. Never let it be said that she didn't know a good time, even if her good times were without fail quiet ones in comparison to her apparent age. The woman turned the page, the book so close that she nearly had to move to do so.

It was nice to be in the fae realms, even if it meant she had to don the elaborate garb expected. Besides, the entire team had been given bereavement leave, given the loss or a member, even if he had been a contractor. Molly was considering dropping down to contractor status herself after this, and putting most of her time into exploring her abilities and the various realms. There was so much to see after all, it seemed a waste to spend all her time on Terra.

"Well you seem to be enjoying yourself." Tatiana said as she came upon Molly hiding out in the shade of a garden trellis with her nose stuck between the pages of the book. It seemed to Tatiana that the woman seemed more at home in here than elsewhere; always visiting with a sense of exhaustion and discomfort. "What tales did you happen to pilfer from my library this time Miss Bronson?" She asked with a smile.

Taking a seat next to the other woman, she saw that she hadn't taken the death nearly as bad as Catherine had. The poor woman had come in the middle of the night, and promptly cloistered herself away in her apartments; turning away any and all visitors.

Molly managed a smile a lowered the book. "Your Majesty." She greeted and bowed her head. "And an adventure story I hadn't read before." She admitted, smiling. "With a heavy dose of romance. I fear I need the...the light heartedness of it." She admitted quietly. "The loss of Brandon...he was a friend, and it hurts." They hadn't been overly close, but they were friends regardless, and both had so few that even a more distant friend counted to be sure.

She glanced to the palace and frowned. "And of course, my lady....she was many times closer. It's difficult." In the courts, Molly very much considered Catherine 'her lady.' Outside the courts, just her boss, and almost a friend, but in the courts, well. It was an unusual relationship, but it let Molly come and go through the fae realms, and so she didn't mind it.

Tatiana sighed lightly and leaned over patting Molly on the arm, "Of course my dear, a little distraction from such a horrible thing is to be expected." Though truth be told most of the court was now in whispers over the absence of Catherine, and why she'd locked herself in her apartments, only receiving meals if she felt obliged. "Pain is an unintended consequence of most if not all of the realms, and we must each suffer in in our own way; some of us more than others." The monarch added, thinking carefully.

"It is difficult when you out live a child my dear Molly, and doubly so when you see such a slow decline with little you can do about it."

Molly nodded at this. "Yes ma'am. However, I may simply slip into her apartment uninvited to check on her if she doesn't come out soon." It wasn't as if stopping her was terribly easy, and Catherine didn't have the right wards up in her rooms for that. Or rather, Molly had all too cheerfully left herself a doorway. "If nothing else, to make certain she's eating."

She shrugged and sighed. "I can't even do much to stop the whispering. She has lost her child, nephew or not, she raised the boy." she sighed and closed her eyes, wiping tears away. "And now I'm all weepy again." That was no good. Molly closed her eyes and then forced herself to center herself. It wasn't good to fret so. She's end up phasing through something on accident again, and that was never pleasant.

Tatiana smiled at mention of slipping into Catherine's rooms from Molly. The woman was growing more mischievous with every visit to the realm. "If that's what you wish, no one is stopping you." Even the great queen was concerned at the lack of appearance from the other woman. While Oberon and Sir William's deaths had hit everyone hard, they had all drawn together to support one another in their time of mourning; however Tatiana suspected that Catherine felt very alone in her grief after Brandon's death.

"My dearest child, fae will whisper! If it is only out of concern for someone who has been a part of their life for a very long time." She said offering Molly a warm, comforting, motherly embrace. "If she won't see any of us, perhaps she will see you." Tatiana mused, knowing full well that the wards on the knight commander's rooms were meant to keep most everything out; however she'd never really mastered the magic that would keep Molly out.

Well, that was basically permission. She returned the embrace, never a hundred percent comfortable with it. Molly was well aware of her roots, and rarely felt fit to sit besides Tatiana, but less be hugged so. Not that any one else knew of her roots at all. She tended to keep her past very close to the chest, so to speak. A handful knew the story of how she had ended up with Karato, but that was only ever it. She dabbed at her eyes.

"Perhaps I will kidnap her away to my own childhood home. A place with no association with Brandon may help." May. There was no telling given how deep her grief may run. "I may wait on that, until she's doing at least a little better." Molly didn't intend on giving Catherine much choice in seeing her.

The queen was generally accepting of most, and if Catherine had somewhat adopted Molly as a friend, then the queen would do everything she could to ensure her comfort and ease in the court. Now smiling at Molly, Tatiana held her at arm's length the smile turning to a conspiratorial grin. "Do whatever you feel will help. A week is too long to spend locked away in one's own misery." She said knowing full well that Molly was going to take this as permission to do as she saw fit with the knight commander. "Just remember, she does think highly of you, even if she doesn't say much."

Molly's cheeks brightened at that remark. "Thank you ma'am." The majority of the time, she was more fo the opinion that Catherine say her as a pest rather than a friend, or anything of the sort, but she definitely admired the other, and wasn't about to be tossed off for anything. She was a bit too savagely determined for that anyway. The woman smiled.

"Now, tell me, your majesty. Why did you come down the the gardens today?" She asked, smiling. She knew why she was there, but the the other woman's presence was a mystery to her.

"Well.." Tatiana said as she bounced a little in her seat. "Let me tell you a secret, sometimes I like to escape from all the drudgery and complications of court." She said with a sly grin. The woman was complicated, and skilled at ditching most of her ladies in waiting, much to their annoyance. "I like time to myself, and it's difficult when you're the sole ruler..." Tatiana explained. It had been difficult since Oberon's death, many men had tried to court the Queen and install themselves as the next king but she had steadfastly refused.

Lovers were nice for a time, but after awhile she found herself missing her husband.

Molly grinned. "Ah, so in the back rooms today, I'll get to hear all about your latest slip, will I?" She teased gently. "And perhaps you will find another one day. I wish you better luck than I had." She admitted. "The pain fades, but my Lorn....no one could replace her for me." And her heart was pretty closed off from any attempts to try too. So she rather understood Tatiana's pain, at least.

"I won't tell anyone you're here ma'am." She said, rather amused. It wasn't her fault if the ladies in waiting couldn't keep track of Tatiana. They should try being a bit more clever about it all.

"Oh maybe, it depends on how panicked they get." The queen mused. It was the highlight of her day when she could make a quick dash away from her so called keepers. "Oh I don't know, Oberon was my mate for over a millennia... it's hard to find another who has your best interests at heart." She said frowning slightly, her thoughts momentarily dark. So many political motivations and none of them clear.

"I didn't expect you do, you slip away here from the mortal realm after all." Tatiana commented, knowing full well why Molly continued to come without the responsibility that Catherine had. It was a slower way of life, but one that most tended to enjoy with the lazy, idyllic summer days of the court.

Molly grinned. "Ah, but I have a gift. I should use it, shouldn't I?" She asked, grinning slightly at that. Still, she smiled and placed a hand of Tatiana's. "Please, take your time in healing your heart. He was with you so much longer than my own mate. It may take just as long to find someone worthy and who doesn't serve their own interests alone." She had been watching the ongoing drama with no small disgust, how they tried with a woman clearly still mourning. Trash, the lot of them.

She was rather glad she wasn't considered much of a catch within the realm of the court. The idea of so many courting her, and knowing most would be men caused her to wrinkle her nose. Men could be such perverts too.

"Yes, you should. Unlike some who squander and shun their own." She nodded in agreement. "Thank you Molly, but I'm not sure my heart will ever heal." Tatiana added sadly. Finding even someone worthy of her affections would be difficult, especially someone willing to be as selfless as Oberon had; or at least that's what she wanted to believe in the end.

Standing up, she shook out her skirts gently with the rustle of silk and satin petticoats. "I should probably be going. My maids will most likely have become quite concerned by now. Enjoy your book Molly, and please be sure to visit Lady McBride soon."

"Ah, that's how I feel about my own." She admitted and smiled, then shrugged. "And of course, your majesty, on both counts." She said, and watched the other leave before returning to her book. She'd plot how to handle Catherine and getting her at least up and dressed and feed later. Perhaps a walk through the gardens would do the other some good, if Molly could bother her enough to get her to go along with it.

Molly curtsied and held out her key. "Your Majesty." She said, careful not to let upset in her voice. "And by now, no doubt deceased. Unfortunately my home plane is lost to me." She managed a smile. "However, I truly am Molly Bronson, I swear to you." And she had her key and her badge to prove it. Still, it was odd to be treated like a child, even if she knew she looked like one. "And I come with a message from Catherine, concerning the...the attack on the veil that I don't doubt was felt even here."

It had been a bad one. Molly didn't want to know how badly the veil was torn, but with the constant attacks on it, she had no doubt MCU was going to be very busy very quickly with whatever came through. She didn't want to think on that, and put it away, carefully. Hopefully the veil could be repaired.

Tatianna nodded in acknowledgement as she listened to the young girl standing in front of her. "That is a very.. interesting tale. But why do you look so different Molly?" The queen asked slightly puzzled. For now, until she could be absolutely certain that this was Molly, she would be cautious. "And yes, the veil.. has ah... been damaged." She said slowly, they were still probing it, trying to ascertain where the damage was worst. If the current level of attacks continued, no doubt the veil would be completely torn; allowing what it previously hid to come back into the world.

Unfortunately though, this would also lead to the possibility of their plane coming crashing down into the mortal realm. The separation had occurred when the veil had been put in place, it had also been part of their agreement as guardians. They would protect the veil and watch for any threats. "But, pray tell me sweet child. Why did Catherine send you and not come herself?"

"...I was the focus of the tearing." She explained. "We destroyed the circle, but it was really old magic. I was chained to the middle of the circle, and I became...I became fae. So far as I can tell, I'm about what I would be if I was my own mortal age, but in a fae girl's body." And she wasn't fond of it. The girl licked her lips, nervous. "There's a mage in the mortal realm. He's the one tearing the veil, from what I was able to find." Molly cheated too, to get that much information. It had been well hidden.

Still on the note of Catherine her shoulder's slumped and she forced herself to not cry. This was stupid. She had better control over her emotions than this, and she wasn't going to cry because her friend was hurt. "Catherine is in the hospital. When the veil was torn, she had seizures, bad ones. They've got her drugged to the gils to make sure another doesn't happen until she's rested some." She shuffled, a bit embarrassed. "She told me to tell you. She fell asleep before saying what, but I'm hoping I've given the right message."

The queen frowned as Molly explained what had happened. "It is unusual for someone to do such a.. deed just to tear the veil." She said, unsure of where this would lead. The court wasn't ready for a war, or much past the reclusive nature they'd adopted within recent times. So far they'd been enjoying a tentative peace, and the Unseelie were rather amicable and easily pacified. How had they not identified this threat earlier? "That is sad and unfortunate news, Molly." Tatianna added calmly enough, though she was worried. The tear must have been greater than the other could easily describe for the change to happen.

"Old magic isn't practiced much either. Come Molly, it's almost tea time." The queen said after a moment of thought. "I will send someone to look after Catherine. The doctors there will not be able to heal her mind, but only her body."

"This mage has been unusual in his actions. The notes are incomplete. I'm afraid he was only recently judged much of a threat on our side as well." She admitted, and nodded. "And thank you. I will gladly escort them, if need be." She offered. If she stayed here she was going to be babied and coddled and treated like she was 12. She didn't know if this form was reversible - usually this much magic would require just as great a power source to undo, and Molly would not have the veil torn again to retake her form - but in the meantime, this was her form.

And that meant she was, technically a child. It occurred to her that she was one without a guardian as well. "And I would love tea, your majesty." She said politely. She wasn't going to argue it. Nor was she going to mention she only had the one dress. Tatiana had enjoyed using Molly as a doll when she was human. It would only be worse now.

"Really now? You'll have to tell me more about this all powerful mage." Tatiana said as she led Molly down a corridor and into her own private parlor. Taking a seat at a small table, she reached up and pulled on a silken cord that was well disguised within the draperies of the room. "Please, speak freely here, Molly, you are safe." The woman told the girl. While she was suitably worried, it wouldn't do much good to let it consume her just yet. Undoubtedly the queen would likely be found walking the gardens later, trying to sort through all of this. She had little intention of turning Molly into a play thing to entertain herself at the moment, as this was a time when seriousness was warranted.

"My court will do everything in it's power to stem the flow from the veil, but it will be difficult and time consuming to patch. However, it is not impossible and can be done. Thankfully, as you know time here moves at it's own pace, either slower or faster than the mortal realm. We cannot offer much in the way of aid, as to do so would leave us without defenses. However... I believe we can help."

"I don't know if he's all powerful." She admitted and took her seat, smiling for the queen. "And the records I was able to, ah, find, were scant." Molly had rifled through places she should not have been. Not Catherine's office, as that was warded well against her, but in various other places, and put together what she could. "My understanding is that most of our knowledge of this mage, Alam Shalafi, comes from a child who knew him somehow. what I could find on that wasn't much."

She shrugged. "He has at least two helpers. From what I understand, he was caught on security cameras as the perpetrator of an attack on a local mage school, one helper caused serious panic after unleashing all the animals from the zoo into the gardens, and...it's unconfirmed, but I suspect a second helped kill the head of magical relations on the government on that side. That's jsut a hunch though."

Still, the knowledge that the Fae would be helping to patch the veil was wonderful. She bit her bottom lip and looked up at the queen. "Is...I mean, I know it's likely specialist work, but is there anything I can do, to help with fixing the veil?"

"Really now? And what makes you say that? Also, where did you find such records?" The queen asked while they waited for the tea to come. "But either way, how very interesting." Tatianna mused thoughtfully. It seemed that children were of a much different status in the mortal realm, on one hand they were almost abandoned and uncared for, but on the other it seemed that they were put to the strangest tasks. Briefly smoothing and adjusting her skirts, the fae queen smiled briefly. "Ah the tea is here!" She exclaimed as a white suited footman set the silver tray on a nearby cabinet. With a courteous bow, he then set dainty porcelain cups and saucers in front of the pair, along with plates and silverware. "Now, let me see if I remember correctly... cream and sugar?" Tatianna asked Molly picking up one of the cups with its' saucer.

They would discuss the situation in depth once the footman had disappeared back into the household.

Molly smiled sheepishly at the question of where she found the records. Not where she was supposed to be, that was for sure She was very good at not being where she was supposed to be though. It was certainly a talent. "Here and there." She replied, vague at best. Molly had gone snooping. Records were kept of when 'official' business was conducted, a brief summary submitted of any pertinent facts. Molly really didn't have much more than what she had shared, other than what she suspected about the three attacks at once.

She wasn't going to really say more on the subject right now. There was a footman present. Still at the offer, the preteen beamed. "Yes ma'am, thank you for remembering." She needed to be on her best manners, especially given her diminished form. Until she had a chance to train in this body, she didn't trust herself in a fight.

"Here and there indeed young lady." Tatiana said, dismissing the footman with a nod. "You have a knack for finding things that people really shouldn't." She added sweetly, before handing Molly her tea. The young now fae girl could prove herself useful to the court in more than one way, after all while the Summer Court still needed information from outside. "Unfortunately though, I can't let you work on fixing the veil. It takes a certain kind of magic, one I'm afraid few know."

That kind of magic was generally taught to those who had been tasked with guarding the veil and it's secrets. "I do appreciate your offer though."
