Tawny

A Daedayre

0 · 460 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Sick Puppy

Description

Tawny is now a 22 year old woman with long shiny black hair that frames her bright green eyes. Her small frame can noly be described as indeceptive as she has no real talents in combat. She could be described as intelligent and trustworthy with a general demeanor thats pleasant and welcoming, meaning shes highly sociable and always up for a laugh.

She does also have one other unfamiliarity and that story is held accountable to the beautiful owl she carries with her. Tawny could now be described as a True Daedayre, a very rare race of beings imbued with the spirit of an animal through extraordinary circumstances.

The Making of a Daedayre
Tawnys story began when she was 19 and, living with her parents, she came back home from her day at the academy with a small cardboard box in her hands.

'Mum, could you get me some antiseptic wipes, some masking tape and some lollypop sticks if you have some please' she said quite demandingly, her mind set at the task in hand.

'A please wouldn't go amiss young lady,' Her mother replied getting up to fetch the items from around the house. 'What do you need them for anyway?'

Not expecting her mum to be very happy with her answer, she dismissed the question with a 'It doesnt matter.'

'Well, whatever your doing be careful...and be sure to clean up after yourself when you've finished.'

'Thanks, i will,' and upon taking the items, she proceeded to head up to her room being careful not to jolt the contents of the shoebox.

******

Upon entering her room the young girl placed the box carefully on her bed and begun arranging the various bits and bobs her mother collected, along with a pair of scissors, needle, thread and tissues, all upon a clean towel.

'Lets see what i can do for you' she said compassionately and seemingly to herself, but as she removed the lid from the shoebox and reached inside, what could be described as a small scuffling sound could be heard.

A small owl was lifted upon to the towel, its beautiful feathers emblazoned with delicate patterning up its back and its right wing hung lifelessly at its side. It was obvious it was broken, the odd angle of the structure would make anyone concerned to look that this was the case, and if that wasn't enough, the large amount of blood and the unconcious state confirmed it further.

'That dog got you good ,didnt he, hey?' she continued in a soothing tone as she carefully lifted the wing to see the full extent of the damage. It was worse than shed thought, the muscle on the underside was ripped at the shoulderblade, and at this point most people would pass the bird for dead.

She began using the antiseptic wipes to clean away the blood and the open wounds for bacteria and disease before trimming away at a small amount of surrounding feathers.

She wasn't a nurse, or a doctor, or any type of medical staff. She just felt...guided, as if it were her task to complete.

'Such a pretty thing aren't you hun?' she reassured the bird whilst stroking the feathers at its neck, and upon doing so, she felt the bird had dropped in temperature. It had lost alot of blood, and the shock of the mauling was enough to kill the strongest of birds, but she wasn't ready to give up yet.

After already sterilizing a thin sowing needle, she threaded it and spent the next 15 minutes totally focused on repairing as much of the damage as she could.

The bird still unconscious, and the young girl now completely worn from not only these events but from her day at school, she grabbed a hot water bottle and a few blankets and tucked the bird up against her as she fell asleep.

******
Hours passed, and the 19 year old was awoken to the sound of her door banging.

'Are you up?' her mum called, 'Your going to be late for school.'

'Her eyes flew open and upon realising her predicament, in her best fake husky voice, she called back ' Mum, i'm feeling ill, i dont think im well enough.'

'Well alright, but make sure you catch up on your work, im going out shopping i'll see you later'

'okay, have fun. ' and the sound of footsteps signalled her mothers retreat.

She got up and pulled the bird from its 'nest' to study it, only to find, although weak and malnourished, it was staring back at her.

'Well hello handsome,' she said ruffling its feathers. To which the bird just looked up at her.

A few weeks passed and after much coaxing and hard work, the girl managed to feed, water and bathe the bird back to life. When she could shed sneak her knew friend out to the large garden where the bird could begin to regain its balance, and stretch its wing. The wing wasn't fully healed yet and the girl was uncertain it would ever fully recover, at least enough to allow the bird to regain flight, but one thing was for certain. Over the weeks that had passed the small bird had shown an immense amount of gratitude in the form of friendly pecks, calls and even in becoming clingy when she had to leave for school. She hadn't expected it, but the owl had grown to adore her and she returned the love happily.

*******
The following spring came and in the recent months the owl begun to fly and attempted to hunt independantly to no avail, yet would never leave the young womans side for more than a few minutes.

Then came the day.

She was out at the bottom of the garden in a small wooded area with Shakespeare, When she started feeling a niggling pain in her chest. Ignoring it, she chased after the owl in a playful manner. Her heart felt suddenly heavy and in moments she was on the floor gasping for breath under the influence of a heart attack.

With no one to help her she just lay there defenceless and dying until Shakespeare landed a few feet away with the first mouse he'd caught since his wing broke. Upon seeing something was wrong, the little creature walked up beside her face and began almost headbutting at her cheek as if to comfort her.

Whilst gasping for air she reassured him 'Ye-yes i'm her-here, dont wo-worry, be saf-fe' and with a smile at the little bird and those last words, her eyelids fell shut and all was silent.

*********

The little bird hopped onto her chest and began to call. it was a sad low call as if all his happiness had suddenly been taken away from him. He closed his eyes and began to dream, it was all he could do.

'Shakespeare? what are you doing here?' Tawny asked confused, she had accepted the prior events took place and was confused at the presence of the small bird she loved here with her. She noted a small object at the birds feet, a scroll, along with a locket, written on ancient and worn parchment. She picked it up and read;

' In light of occasions and sacrifices made, the brotherhood of light
has consented to the request of a new Daedayre.

The Daedayre has now fulfilled all the necessary laws
- passing -sacrifice -compassion -love -acceptance
required to complete the ritual... and shall continue to exist
under the name Tawny .... '

More information followed on the scroll about her task and the ritual that followed but she watched and smiled as Shakespeare took flight and landed on her shoulder. She rubbed the plumage at his back gratefully and in the full knowledge that this bird was special. A small feather escaped his feathery ranks and was drifting upon the air and landing in her palm.

She raised the pocket from the perch where Shakespeare showed, and placed the feather inside before hanging the locket around her neck. Suddenly she was made aware of a beating heart...her heart, and everything seemed to Vanish into the sound.

She woke from her slumber laying in the woods at the bottom of her garden, the wind gushed through her hair and she was astounded. didnt she just die? Had Shakespeare really brought her back? it seemed impossible, but the locket around her waist and the scroll in her hand was evidence enough. she looked at the bird who nudged the scroll with his head, as if she should read. And she did.

'As part of the contract the Daedayre must leave the old life
behind them and instead follow their journey, taking the
companion along.
Two become one, where one falls so not does one but all.'

And so Tawny and Shakespeares lives became conjoined, happily up till this day.

Char watched as Jeremy walked around and went back to the same two people a multitude of times. From his little perch at the bar Char just simply gazed at the seen. It was rather comforting to see a lot of people around and having a good time. Char watched the boy walk around and greet new people as they arrived. He did seem to be a greeter of this please, though something felt off here, wouldn't the owner be around? Char just shrugged inwardly and continued to watch Jeremy as he proceeded through his actions.

Jeremy sat down, as for a moment there were no new guests and no one who needed his help. He wanted a hot shower, but there was no way to fit that in. He then got a call. He quickly picked up, and a yelling man answered. "Listen Raja, we both know I am paying you more then your worth, but of you really want to try that move, I can make it so people will hire you for only half your worth".

The man stopped yelling, and hung up. "Thought so".

He couldn't help but overhear bits and pieces of Tawny's and Xas' conversation, despite being over a dozen booths away and having music play. Jeremy had adapted to have really good hearing.

Xas shot a look back at Jeremy, as if to plead the kid not to leave him with a girl on his lap. There was no helping it, so the cop was forced to turn his attention back to Tawny. He gently lifted her from his lap before anything came up and made it any more awkward that it already was,"Look, clearly you're vulnerable and I can't take advantage of that." I want to, but can't, he thought with a sigh,"How about you tell me a little more about the people chasing you. Did you ever notice any red symbol on them anywhere that looks like an eye or a hand?"

He paused, adding so not to sound too calloused,"I mean, that doesn't mean I can't watch over you for a little while. Its a temporary thing, okay? I mean, you can stay in my room tonight, but it doesn't mean anything." He rubbed his neck, for once, seeming a bit flustered and unsure of what to do. It wasn't every day that one randomly had an attractive woman on their lap.

Felicity snorted to herself and blew off the guy she was flirting with in favor of sitting down with a flame-haired woman who seemed almost as interested in the cop as herself. She smiled playfully at Isis as she settled in, hooking a finger at a waiter as she did so, and ordering herself a midori sour. Her voice was black velvet in its true form, unaltered by any psionic ability or act,"So, what brings a lovely lady like yourself to such an establishment? Or are you just here for the drinks?"

The woman herself seemed to be sculpted from some sort of metal, both in appearance and mannerism, as she literally shined under the casino lights. Her eyes showed a cold intelligence, like that of a predator, and even her smile seemed to conceal some sort of weapon.

An owl. A god damn owl. Bo's tongue darted from her mouth to lick her chops instinctively. She wasn't surprised that the bird was allowed in. After all, weirder things had happened. Like cats walking on two legs dressed up in ninja garbs. Speaking of which, she looked really conspicuous in all black that hid all her features from head to toe, so she chose to melt down into a pool of sky blue mist. Getting here had been easy. Now getting the girl would be the fun part. For now she just needed to confirm, because the last thing she needed was capturing the wrong girl and owl, so along the floor darted the mist, whirling around table legs and chairs on its way towards Tawny, Xas and the owl.

The mist came to rest just down and to the side from the duo and bird, in a place where they hopefully wouldn't see underneath a nearby table. And this was where the boring part of assassin work began. Sitting and waiting for a chance to strike.

A huge twang of disappointment, pooled in Tawnys stomach, as the arms she hoped to embrace her, instead lifted her off his lap. At this point she knew this was too much for him to handle, her story, his work and the emotional rollercoaster since the moment they had met. 'Stupid girl,' she muttered to herself crossly, not too quietly. Liam had been at the library, Jeremy, the king of rumours, had said so, and shed passed the opportunity for answers up, for a guy she knew couldn't deal with it all. 'I've told you all I know' she continued in a reserved manner before standing to leave. ' I'm sorry we can't stay for dinner, im going to go book a room, you can get the number off Jeremy should you need anything.' She had replaced all her protective layers and suddenly sounded hoarse, and slightly harsh. She pulled Shakespeare into her arms, 'Come on sweetie, we've both had a long day.' She returned her attention to Xas 'im sorry if I've made you uncomfortable, I haven't ever spoken to anyone about who I am so forgive me for feeling relieved when I do. Good luck in your work and just for the record i know your going to make some lucky lady very happy in the future.' it was just a rapid outburst now, she hasn't expected to be saying goodbye just yet, but she was thankful for the experience they'd shared. She kissed him softly on the cheek before walking off to find Jeremy. She noted the gaze of several onlookers as she walked out of the pub area and upon seeing Jeremy, she Called to him... 'Erm Jeremy, would it trouble you to book me a room?' she asked politely.

Jeremy looked up at Tawny, and held out a security key. "A personal rule of mine: Be as prepared as you possibly can. Should I put this on a tab then?"

Jeremy then looked at Xas, and then Isis. He couldn't help but still wonder about how coincidental it was, Xas being here at the same time The Taskforce comes into town. He also focused on Isis. He wasn't sure what it was, but he got this feeling from her, like she was capable of things most people wouldn't do.

And then, there was just this bad feeling around Tawny as she aproached. He could tell it was his psionic abilities, acting up to something, but he wasn't sure what. All he knew is that something was about to happen with Tawny. Therefore, he added to his statement something else. "You should be careful though. You should be safe here, but it never hurts".

Xas was quick to his feet, as he followed Tawny,"Wait, no, that's not what I meant. I just don't think you should be making rash decisions about sitting on a guy's lap. Wait, alright?" Internally the officer growled at his own inability to simply let her go on her own way. If she didn't know anything, she wasn't part of his mission after all.

"Wait, put her room on my tab, I got it. Okay? I got it." He resisted physically stopping Tawny, instead opting to follow her,"Look, Tawny, you didn't make me uncomfortable..." he added with a mumble,"Really the opposite," back at normal volume,"I want to help you, alright? Clearly you are vulnerable and it would be all too easy for someone to take advantage of that. I don't want to be that guy."

Meanwhile, Felicity smirked at Isis and her harsh tone,"Relax, I only want to talk. Honestly, if that's how you conduct business, I don't see you doing well in picking up new clients."

Her eyes wandered from Isis's face for a moment as she watched Xas and Tawny get up, her expression of amusement only growing more clear. Her eyes were quickly back on Isis again, this time her gaze carrying with it a feeling of peacefulness that would wash over the sylph's target, in this case, the siren across from her. The psionic made it clear that she too was very armed and very dangerous, and had only a little bit of patience for threats, as she pressed with the sharpened edge of her abilities. A creature such as herself had a refined touch, and as such it could easily bridge the gap between a mild headache and painful death.

"I happen to represent an organization that has some interest in this area, perhaps a being such as yourself would understand the benefits of making trades with a new client? We deal in unique products, specializing in the public relations department."

With Tawny making efforts to separate herself from the group, Bo couldn't believe her luck. How easy would it be to just jump her in her room, smack her face unconscious, then throw her and her dumb owl on a transport back to Terra? Piece of cake. She just had to wait until the girl was alone. The mist slowly shifted from its hiding place to stalk Tawny, occasionally darting from table to table to keep hidden, but with no real noticeable weight or mass, it was completely unnoticeable when stepped on or through.

She took the key card from Jeremy, 'Thank you i really appreciate it. i know i havent been the smoothest patron you've ever had' She said solemnly and full of gratitude to the young man whod gone out of his way for her. she walked a few paces towards the elevators, which lead to the hotel suites, but stopped as Xas called after her.Tawny's eyes slammed shut, as she let him do what he felt was necessary with the tabs hoping it'd give him some peace. She turned to face him with a stronger stature than she showed at the dinner table, this was the Tawny that had survived for so long already, and following the previous conversation again she just let the words flow. 'Xas, don't make this harder than it already is sweetie' she said calmly, and soothingly as he stopped beside her. 'I can take care of myself, as i have done for the past few years. And yes,i may be vulnerable, but only when i open up, i'll be damned if i cant talk to anyone about how i feel, and if you believe you cant give a girl a hug when shes scared, because you dont want to take advantage, thats your deal and it probably explains alot about why your still single. You've made your point, and i wont make the same mistake twice. I've survived this long without your help, so dont feel responsible for me, you have enough on your plate.' It was a calm yet brutal speech, the kind that would put an end to anything. 'I appreciate you putting me on your tab, i wont ask anymore of you, and now if you'll excuse me, i need some rest.' She didn't even wait for him to reply, she imagined the words would leave him speechless anyway.. The Elevator bell rang and she stepped inside and watched as the doors closed on another experience in her life.

Jeremy watched as she spoke. However, he did have something to add. "Well, you are not the worst patron if that makes you feel better. But that is a story for another time, with a few more drinks". Jeremy actually had a top ten worst patron list. Away did not even get close to it. The very worst had a special place in Jeremy's hatred, mostly because he kidnapped and tried to ransom Jeremy. Jeremy however, did not make the best person to kidnap. Between the complaining he was capable of, and his acting skill, he managed to trick the kidnapper out of his gun. He then shot at him, missing, but he pretended that it was a warning shot and told him to back off. He ended up rescuing himself through a bluff. That, and there was only one kidnapper.

He glanced at Isis and Felicity again. Mainly Felicity. He didn't really trust her still.

Jeremy still had this ominous feeling, and considering what just happened with the officer, suspected he would have something to do with it. He had a security guard keep an eye on him. Tawny does get points for being polite.

He also sent a security guard to watch the hallway in her room, and had the people watching the cameras on extra alert. He wasn't going to let someone get hurt in his....err, his father's casino during the Grand Opening. Well, not without making sure they would not be leaving willingly.

As the elevator doors closed, Xas balled his fists for a moment, his knuckles white and his jaw clenched. He eve reached back as if to punch the offending doors, but instead dropped his arm and slumped his shoulders. Tawny wasn't his mission, and if she insisted that she could take care of herself, then he couldn't chase her either. With no way to justify anything further, he sulked back to the bar, defeated. He should have been glad to be in the clear, but instead he felt like something bad was going to happen and that it would be his fault for not chasing her.

Xas canceled the order of food, instead trying to find out if he could order eggnog. Most places didn't have it out of season, except for places that were friendly toward a certain god of fire. Without any other distractions, he finally noticed Isis and Felicity, however, and decided to have a couple drinks sent their way. As far as anyone would be able to tell, he was simply flirting with the girls, and even leaned back to smile and wink at the pair when the waiter informed them that their drinks had been paid for.

Felicity only smiled deeper as the siren shoved away the invasion of her mind, though Isis would still feel that perhaps the other woman had given up quite easily. She didn't bother to make any quips about how easy it was to upset Isis, or even the fact that such a large flaw could be exploited, instead keeping her tone at an even level without any of the laughter that the sylph held back,"No, I'll just leave my card with you for later. You can contact us when you're ready to talk. After all, I wouldn't want to interrupt an important meeting. After all, I still have other matters to attend to."

She looked up when the waiter informed them that their drinks had been paid for by the man at the bar, meeting eyes with Xas as he winked at the pair of assassins. In return she smiled flirtatiously, and looked back toward Isis,"As you can see, I don't want too much attention. Its bad for business." With that she set a plain white business card on the tabletop and stood. With a small nod to Isis, and a nod toward Jeremy, she headed toward the entrance of the casino, with the intent to leave.

The entire time Bo just wanted to shout 'Just fuck already', but it seemed like that sort of thing might give her away, so she waited for the elevator to close before she made her move. Darting to life the blue mist headed for the door, slipping through before shooting up the shaft for the inner doors where it started to seep into the same chamber as Tawny. It began to reform into a humanoid shape clad in black material from head to toe, thin enough around the eyes to see out but too obscuring to look back in. Her identity was a mystery (for those unfamiliar with Terra and the Assassin Society) and her presence could only mean one thing; business.

"Sup," he she said with a slight nod of her head, as if trying to bait out the human instinct to respond as a distraction before she sprung into action. One fist launched immediately upwards, knuckles curled inwards for the jaw of Tawny while the other jammed backwards for the emergency stop. Of course, anyone who knew the true nature of Bo knew her knuckles weren't her knuckles. They were robotic gloves shaped like human hands which meant they were solid metal. Even with the slim fabric covering them, it would hurt to be struck.

A yawn grasped tawny as her weariness betrayed her, and as she reopened her eyes pain caused them to flinch shut again. She had not noticed the dark figure in the elevator with her until she felt the blow to her jaw. She was knocked back into the Control unit causing the fire alarms to sound, her last thoughts as she drifted into unconciousness were of Xas and how shed wished things could be normal. The sound of the alarms filled the casino, meanwhile Shakespeare was flapping around in the elevator. Upon seeing his beloved tawny unconcious he raised his Sharp talons to the assailants face, with the intention of causing serious injury. A few loose stray feathers from his inderwing, fell unnoticed to the ground.

Jeremy went over as more patrons entered, including Cochise who chose not to use the door, and Char who was close to him. "Welcome to the Grand Opening, my name is Jeremy Tarosi, do you need any help or want anything?"

He was still energized from that sugary concoction Maarat gave him, and was intent on doing a lot. That being said, there were plenty of other attendants, waitresses, and bar tenders he really didn't need to do anything.

However, he soon received word about the alarm in the elevator. "Everyone relax. Someone probably just decided to pull the alarm. We have more then enough countermeasures to deal with any crisis!"

The alarm was shut off, and Jeremy had four security guards come with him to "neutralize" the situation. He found the elevator that tripped the alarm. He was not just going to let someone disrupt his father's work. He tapped into his Telekinesis, and pulled the elevator doors open and the elevator itself down to his floor as the 4 security guards aimed weapons. As soon as he got the elevator fully down, he would force open the elevator doors.

Knocking out the girl was too easy. Dealing with the god damn bird was another story. Trying to catch something flighted in a tight space was like trying to catch a fly with a butterfly net. Fingers clutched only at air until Bo realized that they were moving. Shit, how did that happen? Did they have cameras in the elevators and manual control? Sloppy work, Bo. You're already caught. With one hand now forming into a flat baseball mitt like shape she swatted at the owl, trying to bat them into the wall. Fuck birds. They should know better. But there was a much larger problem. First, if the door to the elevator was metal, she would place one hand to it and metal morph it together. They would probably need to blow torch the metal right open if they wanted to get in.

Failing that well...

She would go low, knowing security tended to aim high or middle, and as the doors opened she would swing her hand to unleash a powerful gust of wind, more than enough to shunt a car along the ground. Normal sized beings on the other hand? They tended to get flung about from this much of a blast, especially if they were in a tight corridor where the only places to go were to the sides..

Shakespeare too ws hit hard and consequently hit the wall with a heavy force.. The blunt force trauma had clearly affected the bird as it moved in a straight line before veering off in one direction or the other..He squawked loudly before some sort of internal injury caused him bloodshot eyes and some sort of concussion. Something was clearly wrong, the owl retreated to the corner , to prevent further injury.

When Jeremy finally got the elevator down, the metal door had been fused somehow. Normal people would need a blowtorch, but Jeremy had Pyrokinesis. With enough focus, he created something similar, and a bit faster. And the fact that his sugary drink he had before was really starting to kick in gave him the energy to do it. He began getting the door open, and it would be a matter of seconds.

The security were using powerful Pulse weaponry. Since it was the Grand Opening, they were at setting 3. Pulse weaponry either had a really focused damaging blast, one that could move a car a few feet, or a wide nonpowerful blast. The more focused it was, the less width it had, but the more range and the more damage. Currently, they were set to focus setting 3 out of 7, so it would knock a person down at close range, and since they were aiming it at the elevator at close range, they would be fine.

As soon as the doors opened, they fired into the elevator, and Jeremy attempted to trap whoever was in the elevator psionically. However, they were blasted back by a gust of wind, though the force was weakened by the Pulse Pistols. The security quickly recovered and began firing again, while Jeremy attempted to telekineticly trap the attacker.

Xas didn't like the way Isis kept looking around, and wondered for a moment if she had allies in waiting. She did say that she was to be meeting someone, and she herself was armed. The cop cast a quick glance around the area, but for the moment, no one seemed to be closing in on him. Xas actually appreciated when Isis chose to be less than helpful, as it allowed him to ignore any soft spot he had for the female species. Her hairflip was barely even noticed, nor was the manner in which she leaned in again, as he tried to forcefully tell himself that she was not someone to be pitied, but rather a possible enemy. He didn't know exactly who she was waiting for, but her mention of Felicity mucking around in her mind struck a note with the officer.

"What ex-"

He was cut off by a sudden fire alarm throughout the building, and the nervous chatter of everyone around him. Was this a trick to distract him? The alarm was quickly shut off again, while Jeremy assured everyone that there was nothing to worry about. It didn't seem that his 'companion' tried to do anything, so his attention turned toward the young greeter and his team of armed guards. It wasn't until they managed to open the elevator and were knocked over by an unseen force, that the cop sprung to his feet.

"Nice talk, drink's on me."

Xas pulled what looked to be two marbles filled with some sort of liquid, one glowing a bright gold, the other seemingly filled with mud. He dashed off, not waiting for any comment from Isis, holding each sphere between a different pair of fingers. He didn't go for his gun yet, which was concealed in a shoulder holster under his jacket.

Cochise looked around as he fiddled with the vambrace on his right forearm locking the buckle again for a better more comfortable fit. The voice the elf heard somewhat startled him at first as he looked over at where it originated from. Though he gave no response to the situation as he felt a few gazes pass over him with a fleeting interest. Also anyone with a inherent ability to notice the auras of others would see the dark tendrils spread from the body of the elf. They would slowly stretch over the length of the bar, though unseen to the normal eye. The elf remained in his stoic posture as if waiting for something or possibly someone to be found.

Bo was not the sort to stand still for a moment. A split-second after her initial air pulse struck she used her spring-like legs to launch out of the elevator, not giving the guards a chance to recover. Her right glove turned into a punch dagger aimed for the gut of the nearest man while her left hand reached for her side, grasping at her trademark weapon, the viper chain. When she reached the man, hit or no, a plume of mist would burst from all sides, bluish in colour and difficult to see through. And a moment later a metal chain would fly out, aimed for Jeremy. Attached to the end was a wicked vipers head with fangs bared and when it came close it would snap down and bite.

Why target the child?

Who the hell sent a child with four security guards unless they were the lynch pin? Besides, the goons with guns would be pretty much useless once she was on top of them and going all psycho kittay.

Cochise looked over at the man who raised his hand to him. His right brow raising up in a questioning manner of sorts and at the term "howdy" which he only had heard in limited use amongst the humans.

"Good day to you as well sir." Cochise said bowing his head slightly his right arm raised in the air and his right leg behind his left.

Though the tendrils began to rapidly shoot back towards the elf as they felt the resonance of a conflict though it was not for him to deal with. Though the elf still seemed to size up the man with a somewhat curious eye as he waited to see if the battle would erupt his way.

#, as written by Faithy
Isis was definitely not on her game, which was unusual for her. There was something that was bothering her immensely, and she couldn’t figure out what exactly that thing happened to be. Perhaps that was why she was being so elusive towards Xas or maybe there was something else going on with him that was causing her to act this way. A quick internal check of her mental shields let her know that the shields were still up and very tight, so that wasn’t the cause of whatever was going on with her. Luckily, the alarms started to go off, which immediately switched his attention from her towards whatever was happening at the elevators. Shifting her attention towards the commotion just as a gust of wind slammed into the guards surrounding it, the siren couldn’t help but hiss a little. Whatever was going on over there was seriously antagonizing her special abilities.

“Hmm?”

Xas had started to ask her something, but stopped because of the alarms and she barely got anything out before he was rushing away to help out no doubt. Yep, he was definitely a cop. She couldn’t help but admire him for how willing he was to help out and she envied whoever it was that was gaining his help. Sometimes being bad wasn’t all that fun and this was that instant. What she wouldn’t give to have someone care about her that way. REALLY care about her, not forced care like all of her victims. Pulling out the card, she quickly wrote her name and number on the back with a note for him to call her to continue their conversation. She owed no allegiance to Felicity and couldn’t help but wonder if it was time to start a new life. Sighing, she slid to her feet and followed behind him long enough to slide the card into his back pocket.

“Thanks for being so respectful and good luck.” Walking away from him, she headed into the casino part of the building and slid down onto an unoccupied chair.

The mando'ad was about to continue his polite conversation with the presumed Sephi, but paused when the sounds of combat broke out near the elevator. He glanced at what he took to be a lawman heading in that direction and decided he'd add his talents to the fray. Wasn't sure which side he was on just yet, but there was likely to be money to be made.

As he approached, he unlimbered his rifle from it's position on his back, checking the charge, slapping a fresh mag into the receiver, and flicking the safety off with his thumb, a movement so fluid and practiced it seemed to happen on it's own, without any thought. As he approached he took a combat stance, knees slightly bent, feet gliding smoothly over the floor, buttstock of the weapon tucked firmly into the pocket of his shoulder, muzzle angled in front of him and down at a forty-five degree angle.

The Monophotoreceptor 'eye' switched to combat noise with a mechanical 'onng' noise, glowing a brilliant rose hue in the dark recess of his visor. In combat mode as it was now, the 'eye' gathered Infrared, Ultraviolet, Thermal, and Electromagnetic images in addition to a passive sonar feature and melded them together with the aid of a targeting computer and formed a single overlay simply referred to as VISR on his HUD, creating a three dimensional augmented reality layout of the combat that only he could see.

He posted up at the edges of what was likely to be the combat area and waited for the chaos to make sense to him, pumping the action of the under-barrel shotgun in a noise that was almost universally known.

It was as Tawny's limp body lay in the now dilapidated Elevator shaft, currently forgotten due to the ensuing battle that her eyes lickered to life. Blurs of the previous events flashed through her mind, the assailant, the sound of the alarms, her engagements with Xas and Jeremy. It wasnt until she notied Shakespeare lying beside her that she found the motivation to move. 'Shakespeare?' she asked nervously of her friend, before she pulled him protectively into her arms. 'What have they done to you?'. Anger, Sadness and alert were all she could focus on as she grasped the elevator door and used it to pull her battle-ridden body and that of Shakespeare upright.

She shuffled unsteadily into the doorway, where she noted the various people, that had come to the aid of the alarms and the figures of her assailant, Jeremy and a few others, currently engaging in combat. Xas was there too, and questions pushed their way into her awareness too, guilt, Why was he still here defending her after what shed said. She remembered the badge, and his job and felt selfish to think that he was fighting for her. If the situaton wasn't as dangerous she may have even laughed at her own stupidity, but either way, a new found regret had grown within her. She looked at the situation, and insticts kicked in. With Shakespeare in her grasp she awkwardly ran towards the pub area and flung herself behind the bar, hoping not to be noticed.

She should have left sooner, she'd known that someone was after her, it was a feeling she and she was sure Shakespeare had felt that was reinforced by previous close shaves with others, and now she had endangered so many others, not to mention probably ensured her permanent removal from any of Jeremy's premises. She just sat waiting for the shinnanigans of the day to come to, what she hoped was a peaceful, and abrupt end.

As Bo attempted to come down upon him with the weapon, Jeremy tapped into his second power: Pyrokinesis. Two fireballs appeared on his hand, and they blasted upward to incinerate the chain with enough heat that it would melt. He then telekineticly moved the liquid metal back onto Bo. If successful, it would get all over her, and she would need to get it off quickly. If that metal solidified while on her, it old be extremely unpleasant, especially if it got on her head.

However, right after he did that, he would use his third and final psychic power (that he knew of and was controllable). He called it Mind Games. Generally, it trapped people in their own minds, at least temporarily. From it being trapped in a room with your biggest fear, to being stuck in a maze that continuously moves, to simply being forced to sit and talk with your mother that you hate, the Mind Games could be very annoying. Often Jeremy had no real control over what they old be, only how strong they were, but Mind Games had no set time limit. Someone could escape some in seconds, and for others it would take hours. Generally though, if they fell asleep for a certain period of time, waking up might work, but you would have to be asleep. Long enough.

Jeremy would use that power on Bo, to stop her right in her tracks. This power was not really good against many people, but more effective against a single target.

If that somehow failed though, he would attempt to telekineticly trap her, and by now the guards would have recovered and continued shooting, as well as more guards arriving. The Pandorian Bartender, Maarat, took out a shotgun, as well as trying to help by creating a forcefield around the combat area so no bystanders were hurt.
