"...You see. Years of strife and trying to understand this world left me with one logical realization. Numbers count." - A newly bred organization of villains bent on the suffering of Terra.
The Aschen Empire, a massive collection of semi-sovereign provinces that reigns over a great portion of the Milky Way Galaxy, paranoid, arrogant, and cruel, a once prosperous nation spirals into poverty, and self-destruction.

Description

ImageThe Black Hand serves as the divine will of The Divine Shadow, the emperor of the Aschen. Acting in both the capacity of personal body guard and executioner for Mollem McGreggor, The Black Hand has garnered a reputation for ruthless efficiency in the execution of her duties. Within the guise of The Black Hand, none have lain eyes upon her face that live to tell the tale, though rumor has it that a young woman took up residence in the Divine Shadow's palace, only weeks before the mysterious body guard became present in the emperor's travels. Kianna they call this woman, and though she holds favor with the emperor, one can only speculate into her true purpose.

Within the guise of Kianna, she appears a largely unremarkable women with an equally unremarkable history. Her past involvement in anti-aschen movements, and her affiliation with the Terran Militia leaves Kianna's recent rise to power within the Aschen empire a mystery.

Notable notes:
  • Though Terran born, The Black Hand has gone to great lengths to shed this aspect of her identity. Diligent study leaves her knowledge of Aschen culture and even languages broadening with each passing day.
  • The Black Hand currently serves in the Terran Militia within the guise of Kianna, but none save for Mollem McGreggor know of her dual identity as The Black Hand.
  • The Black Hand is a dabbler in the arcane, and can utilize some minor magical capabilities, including minor summons and various cantrips. Her primary magical talent lies in pyromancy which she can utilize at much more formidable levels. The Black Hand has no innate magic of her own, and is incapable of using magic without her pendant in her possession.
  • The Black Hand has a sharp mind and is well versed in the practice of warding her thoughts from mental intrusions through carefully maintained self-control and mental conditioning.
  • The Black Hand is an accomplished liar, capable of doing so fluidly and with little effort. For The Black Hand, lies come as naturally as truth, and often times more readily.

Equipment:
  • Disruptor Pistol - Typically kept concealed within her robes.
  • Wrist Bands - These silver wrist bands provide an unobtrusive means of storing and summoning her weapons, typically a pair of steel blades with runic enchantments down their length to reinforce them against both physical and magical damage.
  • Pendant - This magically durable pendant adorns The Black Hand's throat and grants her immunity to fire and heat while acting as a focus and conduit for fire based abilities. The Black Hand has no innate magic, and it is only through the magic of the pendant that she herself can tap into the realm of magic.
  • T-65 Augmented Combat Skin - The Black Hand is typically never found without this formidable piece of equipment, made all the formidable by several modifications and upgrades in addition to all of the standard specs. The modifications are as follows.

Image▪ Rather than Trin-Duranthium Composite, the hard plates are composed of Duranthium and Kanvium, the Mesh is a Zero-G Spun Trinnium-Duramite
ImageNanomesh, which is much lighter, more flexible, and more resilient.
Image▪ The suit sports a wrist mounted Hardlight shield generator, which emits a hard light shield.
Image▪ The suit has a Disruptor RCW Point mounted under the left palm that can fire rapid-disruptor shots.
Image▪ The suit has been outfitted with a time dilation device that allows its wearer to increase their speed relative to that of an enemy. Matching or
    Imageeven exceeding their speed.
Image▪ The suit has an improved Shield generator, capable of taking a great deal more abuse than older models. The shield generator will also recharge
Imagemuch faster, permitting the shields to recharge should the wearer take cover.
Image▪ The suit is markedly stronger than older models, leaving its wearer capable of flipping cars as if they were toys.
Image▪ The Suit has a built in Mako reactor that draws Mana energy directly from the planet, allowing a wearer to channel magical energies without a
    Imagedirect drain on the body.

A figure stepped up beside Mollem, a crimson cowl pulled low to shadow its face.

When it spoke it was with a low voice, its words for Mollem alone. “If it pleases you,” it replied. Holding its hands out to either side, a pair of blades simply appeared in either hand.

The figure had opted out of the Aschen weaponry at its disposal in favor of testing the physical prowess of the combat suit it had been presented.

The figure joined the fray with silent and measured steps, descending upon the nearest golems with deadly precision. The slash of its blades arced through the air, leaving fiery rivets in the golems that rapidly heated up until the constructs imploded from the building heat. Standing poised over the wreckage of limbs, the figure raised its gaze just high enough to look up Hiro-Kala.

Around the figure gunfire opened up, more than several rounds striking it as it threw itself into the midst of the combat. The bullets drew its attention away from Hiro-Kala though, a light smirk playing across its expression.

Crouching, it lunged, not for Hiro-Kala, but for the Trireme.

With the Trireme tearing up the street around the figure, warnings were flashing through its systems. Its shields were failing as it closed the gap with measured strides. With the distance narrowed, the figure vanished mid stride, only to re-appear within the Trireme.

There were men at hand, but their warning shouts were swiftly silenced beneath the flash of its blades. The weapons hummed and left fiery rends in their wake, the figures precision and speed amplified by the suit it wore beneath its cowled clothes.

Falling into a guarded crouch, the figure reversed its grips upon its blades assessing its surroundings from a defensive stance. Its systems were swiftly locking onto nearby targets, prioritizing their threat levels, and enhancing the figures reaction time.

The figure was swift, running not for the marine that had opened fire on it, but for the wall. Speed and strength coupled with the activation of the magnetic clamps within its boots left it skimming along the wall as effortlessly as walking upon the floor. Releasing the magnetic clamps, the figure jumped high overhead of the marine. The man's rifle followed the figures movements, but the spray of bullets fell just short of their target.

Landing in a crouch behind the man, the figure rose back to its feet and slashed across the marine's exposed neck with both of its blade in a simple but effective decapitation.

Turning to meet the sound of more marines approaching, the figure boldly strode forward through the vessel.

As gunfire opened up once more, the cowled figure raised its hand up from which a red energy shield spread before it. The marine's were many in number though, and countless projectiles punched through the barrier as she weathered the onslaught.

Her shields were flashing warnings now, and reporting several system malfunctions, but still she pressed on. Activating her suit once more, she vanished from the rain of bullets only to re-appear in the midst of the soldiers, merciless in her aggressive offensive. The figures clothes were spattered with blood, and long deep rivets of crimson dripped down the length of its blades as the men retreated under the roar to fall back.

Tilting its head almost inquisitively, the figure did not pursue the retreating marines, but rather paused to assess the newest arrival.

The gun shot went off, slamming the figure backwards with all the grace of a rag doll. Slamming into the wall it fell to the floor. Red sparks arced across its form, a reflexive defense erected in the fraction of a moment it took Candycane to pull the trigger. The dual impact of the projectile and the wall left her dazed, but even in her muddled state, she knew that she wasn't ready to contend with speed like that.

One more jump of her malfunctioning suit, and the strange figure was gone as mysteriously as it had arrived.

Kianna hadn't bothered to await an invitation, or an appointment with the man at the desk. Impulsive and impatient, the woman had taken it on herself to go see him after her return from Terra. The combat suit had been impressive, but not near as impressive as the strange man she had encountered upon the Terran vessel.

As she entered, her face was shadowed in the red cowl she had assumed since her arrival so that only the lower half of her face was visible.

Tossing the damaged combat suit to the floor she spoke up. “The combat suit was impressive, but do you have anything with stronger shields and more speed?” she asked.

Pulling out of the Terran vessel had been a sting to the prideful woman, and she was already planning for another encounter with the man who called himself Candycane.

Kianna approached the suit, glancing over it with an appraising eye. It was difficult to assess the modifications from eye alone though, and she was no technician to be sure, but instinct told her she wouldn't be disappointed.

Rather than act upon the offer to try it on, Kianna instead turned away, heading for the door.

“Have it sent over to the Imperial Palace,” she said.

Minutes passed, five, ten, twenty, it seemed that the collapsed form of Aiyanna would simply be passed off as another drunkard who had over indulged a bit too heavily. It wasn't until a new arrival entered the bar that any note was taken of the fallen woman.

Pausing in the doorway, Kianna surveyed the room for any visual threats or reasoning for the prone woman, but the place seemed uncharacteristically calm. She nearly disregarded Aiyanna aswell, if not for a second glance from the corner of her eye on her way to the bar.

It took a moment for recognition to dawn on her, but her expression turned to a frown after a moments deliberation.

Approaching Aiyanna, she squatted down and drew a combat knife from a wrist sheath. Using the blade she gently prodded Aiyanna's arm. One could never be too careful where this particular toaster was concerned.

“Leave her,” Kianna spoke abruptly. She kept her voice low and didn't look up at Chek as she offered the simple instruction.

Returning the combat knife to her sheath, she puzzled over the situation. It certainly wouldn't do to let an Aiyanna model fall into unknown hands. Greystone Industries would want Aiyanna brought in she settled on finally.

Kianna frowned, and finally determined it best to simply move Aiyanna. The machine was clearly malfunctioning - she didn't need to be a technician to know that.

“If you take my head off, we're going to be having some words later,” Kianna muttered under her breath.

Grabbing Aiyanna by one wrist, Kianna pulled her up enough to get the android slung over her shoulder. Despite her apparent small stature, the strange cowled woman moved Aiyanna with remarkable ease.

Kianna offered little more than a grunt at Aiyanna's feeble objections before she headed for the front entrance, the rambling form of Aiyanna in tow. A malfunctioning piece of military equipment stirred not the faintest sense of compassion in the cowled woman.

Kianna was caught off guard by Aiyanna's struggles. She let Aiyanna slide from her shoulder, but not before turning and getting her arms hooked around Aiyanna's own, crossing her arms over Aiyanna's chest to hold her in a vice grip.

“Damn it you,” she grunted. “You're malfunctioning.”

Just what anyone would want to spend their day doing – grappling with a malfunctioning Aiyanna. Still irritation aside, Aiyanna's words could have some merit. But that would be for the Divine Shadow to decide. Changing her intended designation from Greystone Industries she grimaced.

“Just hold still, we're going to the Imperial Palace.”

A tunnel of bright scintillating lights quickly engulfed the pair.

Kianna released the Aiyanna to the floor. “That's why,” she remarked dryly as the android had seemingly resumed it's earlier vacant stare.

“I was going to take her over to Greystone Industries, but she seemed sure someone there would kill her. Seems to think you and the empire are in danger or something,” she explained.

“Most of what she said was jibberish, she's clearly malfunctioning. But if you really are in danger, it seemed best if I brought this directly to you.”

As David approached the room in which Kianna and Mollem conversed, her reactions were swift. The creak of the door opening was met with her hand extending to one side, a blade appearing within her palm. The following sound of footsteps entering were met with the cold steel of the blade resting motionless against David's throat.

Kianna was as motionless as a statue, her cowl low enough so as to leave only the lower half of her face bared to the light. At a simple word of Mollum, Kianna had gone from being at ease to poised to strike should Mollum wish it so. A swift transformation from Kianna, to her guise as The Divine Will.

“Kneel and profess yourself,” she hissed lowly, her breath little more than a whisper. “Or lose your head.”

A bit touchy perhaps, but The Divine Will always had been one for theatrics, even before Mollem had found her.
