a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by DiamondJack

Description

Image
Anatomy
A race of shark like people that typically live underwater. They are usually muscular and tall, typically ranging from 6' on the shorter end and 8'5'' on the taller end of the spectrum. They typically weigh around 500 lbs. Their extremely powerful muscles make up almost 90% of their weight, their skeleton and organs make up the other 10%. Their rows of sharp teeth also make useful weapons when unarmed.

Society
The Derith are a pretty far advanced people. Their Home Planet of Deri is almost 95% water and only one major continent the other land is small islands. On the continent, called simply Land, trees grow and as well as a few unintelligent animals. The Derith generally live alone, or in small packs. Approximately 2.3 billion Derith live in the oceans of Deri and about 40 million others live elsewhere throughout the galaxy. There is only one heavily populated area on Deri and that is a city on the coast of Land. In this city is the headquarters of formidable Harb. Corp. This company is really the only form of Government among the Derith. Also this company has a fair amount of influence in the Galaxy. Military wise the Derith have a commanding presence on the battlefield and in Space The Derith have seven massive Harbinger Class Dreadnoughts. Not being a hugely populated people they mainly work for hire when called to battle.

Technology
The Derith are pretty far advanced, and have developed suits to live on land that recycle water for breathing. As for weapons Harb. Corp. makes a wide array. The Derith also have technology that allows them to go into space. Among their Space Ships is the Harbinger Class Warship.
The Harbinger Class Dreadnought- A massive warship that is 24,140.16 meters long and can carry up to a million men and a thousand fighters. It has 10,000 gun turrets. The mere presence of this beast would make most flee. There are six of them in existence with a seventh under construction. The seven are named War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, Serenade, Dirge, and Harmony

So begins...

War and her frigates floated through space. Captain Juk'Teh Lore sat on his bridge and watched the reports roll across his screen. War had not seen much action since being sent to Sol. War was really only there in case Pestilence, orbiting Terra, got in trouble. A few Derith fighters flew between ships to pass time and preform flight drills. Yep. Just another day for War.

An alarm went off in the bridge of War. She was being hailed. Captain Juk'Teh Lore quickly looked around. All of War's guns were pointed at the enemy Dreadnought. Two formidable ships with all guns pointed at each other. What a glorious battle, to bad it would probably not occur.

Juk'Teh answered the call. "Hello Unidentified fleet," said the Captain, "My name is Juk'Teh Lore of Harb. Corp.'s Harbinger class Warship War. What are your intentions?" The other end was probably surprised to see a shark speaking to them.

"Well," said Captain Lore, "We received a distress beacon earlier, but did not move on it. It was not my choice, Harb. Corp. forbids us from moving on unknown distress signals. We recovered a brief sound byte from the signal. We could provide this to you if you wish. All we could identify was that it was a human ship..."

"I'll have my comm center send you the file," said Captain Lore. After pressing a few buttons. "The file has been transferred." The captain chuckled, "The Lab boys are always pestering us." The captain looked to his left as he received a report on the enemy ships. Impressive. Juk'Teh would still take War over the human ship, but still impressive.

"You are welcome," the captain said, "Harb. Corp. wants us to offer War and her accompanying ships to your cause in interest of an alliance. If you need us, we will accompany you, if not we will remain here." The captain tapped the desk in front of him. He was actually interested in accompanying these people, it seemed like a good fun, better than sitting here and waiting for a call from Captain Sk'Teth Ofarjin on Terra.

"Alright then," the Captain said, "I await our first direction. War's guns and her ships are ready whenever you are." The Derith cracked his knuckles. These guys sounded bad, but a blast from War's main guns could tear through the thickest of armors. So Juk'Teh was prepared. Harb. Corp.'s finest were on the job.

Soon a Derith Juggernaut Troop carrier dropped out of hyperspace. The back Airlock opened and a Derith Mech suit ejected. The suit made the already imposing frame of the Derith two hundred pounds heavier and a foot and a half taller. Equipped with enough firepower to take out a small troopship, the Mech flew towards the piece of wreckage.

"Troopship Navajo, this is Sharktooth, we are here to join the party," said Frenith Sk'Lif, the pilot of the Derith Mech. The mech propelled itself toward the two UP Marines. "Boys," said Frenith, "What are we looking at?"

The Mech suit climbed into the hole in the hull of the ship, "Juggernaut, coast is clear, send in the squad." Soon afterwards a four Derith soldiers found there way into the hull. Each of them sweeping the inside of the ship with head mounted flashlights.

The Mech suit had two floodlights, one on each shoulder. "Something big happened here," One of the soldiers spouted. "Yeah," replied Fernith, "Nothing like I've ever seen. What about you guys?" The question was directed at the UP Marines.

One of the Derith soldiers called, "Over here!" He was at a door labelled 'ARMORY'. Another one of the Soldiers began tapping looking for the controls to open the door, then he stopped dead in his tracks.

"We have fatalities," He said calmly. In front of him was a dead body pinned to the wall by a piece of support structure. The Mech suit lit up the area with its floodlights on the area to reveal many, many more casualties. One of the Derith Soldiers was almost sick. Not even a Derith could commit such atrocities.

Two of the Derith stepped up and were ready to serve. The other two and the Mech suit went up to Simmons. "Where do you want us?" Fernith asked. The other two soldiers loaded their Myriad rifles.

The other two soldiers got ready to breach the door to the armory. One of the soldiers brandished a breaching charge. "The controls are fried," said the Derith, "I hope you guys know how to preform a breach and clear." He planted the charge and waited for the humans to get into place.

As soon as the door was breached, the two Derith soldiers began unloading rounds into the room. Startled by the order to "Light 'em up" Fernith walked the mech over to the door and called "Hit the deck!"

Soon after the order was issued a rocket was sent into the room, most likely killing or destroying anything in the room. If not, they were definitely messed up.

"Holy Shit!" shouted one of the Derith just as the weird robots started attacking more with more ferocity. One of the Derith let out a roar as a laser pierced his suit. He didn't havea chance to suffocate though, for he was cut in half by another laser.

Suddenly a laser was headed straight for Fernith's face. The Derith said his prayers, but the shot didn't kill him. The armor on the Mech suit had reflective properties. Harb. Corp. took no shortcuts with the armor.

Another rocket loaded into the tube. Fernith let it rip the rocket right toward the det packs. For good measure another rocket was sent also. The other three Derith hit the deck. This boom was going to be big, Captain Lore would be proud.

The other three Derith were sent into space, only one would survive the ordeal. Fernith was knocked unconscious by the blast, even in his suit. The Juggernaut class troop carrier came in as close as possible and picked up the suit as well as the Marines.

"Navajo," said the pilot of the Juggernaut, "This is Deri's Pride, we have your Marines."

The Mech suit unlocked and Fernith stepped out. Being only 6'7'' he was shorter than most male Derith. "What the fuck was shooting at us?" He asked as he rubbed his head. The ship was approaching the fleet.

"So Command," said the pilot, "Should I dock with Roma or War?"

"Robots!" Fernith laughed, "What's next, Shark Men? Oh wait." Fernith laughed at himself. Even after that horrid fight. Fernith maintained his sense of humor. In the cockpit the Pilot silently waited for the answer to his question.

Captain Juk'Teh Lore came over the radio, "Unless the UP has any objections, dock with War, we will invite the UP to debrief the soldiers.

Deri's Pride docked with War and unloaded it's pasengers. All three. Fernith, Simmons, and Dikon Surfesh, the one Derith soldier that was recovered from the wreckage besides Fernith. One hell of a mission. Lives were lost, but the allies figured out what they were fighting.

"Zelnor? No," responded Captain Lore. Some station was under attack and the UP was sending a ship to aide them.

"Send a Hydra." "But Sir..." "Yes, I know we normally don't help unless the distress call is from an ally, but we are helping an ally, we're helping the UP in they're efforts." "Okay Sir." "Shogun, dispatch to these coordinates." "Roger that War."

Shogun, a Hydra class fighter carrier, slipped into Hyperspace and began the journey to the Zelnor Industries Sat 5.

Shogun dropped out of hyperspace not far from Neptune. Sat 5 was under attack by what looked like robotic fighters... The fighters looked like the robots in the footage brought back by Fernith.

"Scramble the Hellfires and the Hades class fighters!" Soon after a rush of fighters came from the hangars of Shogun. Luk Varketh, a pilot of a Hades, flew in for the battle. The enemy fighters were moving so... unorganically. As if the pilot was a robot...

Luk immediately dispatched a few fighters, his mission was to clear enough fighters to get a Juggernaut in close enough to land in a hangar on the Sat 5.

"Neptune, we have to clear out these fighters so we can begin a rescue mission for those trapped on the Sat 5."

Luk dropped back to defend his ship. The Hades ripper cannon would rip through any shield, and after the ripper was fired, the offender cannon would tear a ship a new one. Luk dispatched fighter after fighter. Luk had a kill counter installed on his ship, for the cockpit didn't have enough room for stamps. Luk was quit possibly the best Derith Hades Pilot there was.
