"Did you touch my piano?" the man asked, almost suddenly. He was moving now, ascending the staircase to meet the two of them. "I am that man. I let the scorpion live here He acts as a deterrent others from intruding. Normally." The man didn't sound angry with October or Eianicith, just sort of annoyed that she hadn't been chased off. It wasn't much of an improvement when he got up close, his face a metal mask and his gloves stained red with dry blood.

He would move to push past the two, almost rudely, but with a small mind to remain as polite as he could.

The man didn't pause, heading to make sure his piano was alright, before dusting it off. "Yes." He gave a sweep with his arm, brushing back his tail coat so that he didn't sit on it. And then he began to play. He was quite talented from the sounds of it, but it didn't last long. "Please don't touch my piano," he finally said when he stopped.

The scorpion remained silent, partially guilty even.

The man shook his head. "I don't. This is just my only family heirloom. This house was mine. The clock..." he said turning towards it and frowning. "Scorpion, I told you not to stop it. If the ticking is troubling you then let us transport it somewhere it will be appreciated."

"Would you like it, miss?"

Jonas shook his head. "A man is entitled to his privacy," he answered simply, "You are welcome so long as you can stand the scorpion and his heathen religion, but do not press into secrets that could lead to your own harm. It is best if you do not speak of me to anyone. There is a dangerous man who would kill you just for associating with me."

"It is simply the way things are." He did not sound upset. In fact, it sounded almost trivial the way he said it. And with that he went back for the basement.

The house was delapidated, clearly old and long beyond the 'It needs work' stage. Crane opened the front door without a care. "Come on," he said, gesturing forward. "Let's get looking. The frames got to be around here somewhere."

However, they were interrupted by a sudden voice calling out, "Scorpion? Is that you? That strange woman had best be keeping from my..." Red eyes behind a metal mask became visible as the man turned the corner and just stared at the trio.

Gentry took one step backwards. "I've dealt with assassins before, though none of them have located my home. Jonas is becoming all the more wily. I should have suspected I was not safe forever."

"But I'd rather bring this place down on top of my head then surrender to him." And with that he turned on the spot and began walking away, passive a T-shaped corridor.

As the two wires struck, Gentry rolled his shoulders back. "Superior intellect," he called, not breaking stride as his tailcoat slipped off to let him keep walking, "Combined with."

He raised a fist and brought it crashing into the doorway to the kitchen, crushing it immediately. "Brute strength." His fist swung the other way, smashing the other side. The walls couldn't hold. They were already old and now this was just causing them to bend inwards. However, a curious and confused, smooth and black, inhuman and human-shaped skull poked its head around the corner of the T junction to look.

If anyone were familiar with their creatures, they would realise they shared characteristics with a scorpion.

There was a chuffing and shunting noise from the forest that day, as if some great steam machine worked, perhaps to cut down trees or to victimize the innocent creatures of the forest. But it was not so. There was only a lone man in a metal mask and a fine suit, who looked quite the oddity in nature.

He rounded the bend, and for a moment the haunched figure looked quite frightening. THen he reached up to tip his hat. "Good day miss," he spoke politely, albeit muffled behind his mask. He straightened up and dusted himself off, composing himself so he didn't seem so intimidating.

The man promptly crossed an arm at his stomach and bowed, tailcoat giving a small flick behind him. "What brings you to this location on this day?" he inquired in a calm manner, though he didn't approach. God forbid one get the wrong impression from his alarming appearance that he might be some sort of ruffian looking to accost women in a forest. He would never live it down!

He tilted his head forward in acknowledgement. "I understand. I was under the same activity. Would it be too impolite of me to ask if we could perhaps join our strolls?" And as he finished speaking steam suddenly chuffed from the mouth of his mask, prompting him to place a hand over his mouth. "I beg your pardon."

He wandered over to her side, though he remained a few steps away, and offered out an arm, obviously meant to loop. If she wished. "Do you often stroll this forest?"

"Well, it is always a pleasure to have another so interest in the wildlife of this place. There is a certain peaceful serenity to the forest." Probably because his heavy footsteps and loud chuffing scared off any wildlife. Her strength was less noticeable against his own, though he made a good effort to conceal it.

"I do not really live anywhere," he said with a gentle shake of his head. "I do have a home, an old one, some way from here in town. It is not quite a home you would imagine someone like I would live in." He calmly admired the birds nearby, staring at them with his red glowing eyes from behind his mask.

"Famished?" he asked, turning his head southwards. "I could accompany you, patience permitting, to the city, where I would be happy to purchase you a simple meal in return for your polite company," he offered, gesturing a hand for a non-specific direction, which was presumably south or towards a city. He seemed not to have noticed any peculiarities about her, accepting her simple explanation.

As he flew a man stepped around the corner and a lone hand extended to snatch Chase from the air by the throat. If this meant Assassin would get flung down the corridor well... Her tough luck. However, if he could stop them, he would still try to grab on.

The man held on for a moment, then straightened his tie with his free hand. "Excuse me," the individual said, apparently having no trouble with carrying both catpeople in one hand. "I must request that you replace the rabbit within the confines of the dimensional stabilizers until we can extract it."

"I will do so of my own force."

"Your feline companion makes a suitable point," the Gentry answered, suddenly jerking his hand to the side to throw Chase away. The two of them were rapidly becoming outnumbered as more people began to show up, each with their own oddities. A half man half scorpion, a satyr armed with a bow and a teenager with a desert eagle already drawn and aimed for 'Sassin.

"Our little league has kept track of your Society for sometime. We wish to quench the efforts of one Vidious Renati."

Gentry suddenly hurtled backwards from the blade, straightening his tie mid-jump until he landed firmly on his own two feet. "I see you brought back up. I assure you that your motley assortment of individuals is no match for ours."

The other figure was dressed in a tailcoat and a fine suit, with a top hat to match. He was hunched slightly forward and steam slowly drifted from his mouth. "On the contrary," they spoke, voice reverberating against their metal mask, "I would assume this place is safest, as you can only reach it if you are guided here. Or so the boy said. And he has given us no reason not to believe him."

"I fear not," Gentry said, shifting one of his feet backwards as subtly as he could. "That man is almost certainly the individual who assisted the Assassin Society in the theft of the unBunny from our hidden base."

His right hand twitched into a closed fist. "He was an unfortunately prepared backup that bailed the two thieves out when things grew 'hot', for use of a metaphor."

Gentry returned the bow, one hand crossing over his stomach and one behind his back. "How do you do. Please forgive my less-subtle companion. I am, as mentioned, the Gentry. We were rather just leaving." Despite his bow, his hat remained perfectly on his head.

"Gabby, please," Gentry began, reaching a hand for her shoulder, "For once can we go somewhere without a violent brawl ensuing because of something you said or did?" A chuff of steam suddenly escaped from the mouth-hole of his mask. "I would rather not disturb the man. He's capable of using lightning techniques, and able to handle groups of people. We are only two."

Gentry's hand dropped and he let out a sigh. "Once again, Miss Lolenia, you are an impeccable judge of character," he said, though whether he was serious or not was impossible to tell.

"Rather, this is the reason we're here. This location is unique, in a sense, in that no one can come here without being guided. With Gen on the inside we have already secured this place before the Society can get their nefarious claws on it, ensuring we can ward them off in an attempt at infiltration."

"We're scouting a HQ," he stated more clearly.
