The Gigas

Belias's airship, now fully automated and on auto-pilot.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Jerico Do'Lantul

Description

Image

Personality

A series of complex protocalls and built-in scenarios that range to the extreme, as set up by Belias. He is constantly adding conditions in which the airship can function automatically, giving it the illusion of having a mind of its own.

Equipment

Twin 37 mm cannons which face forward for dogfights, while there are two dual 20mm turrets attached to the under carriage, which are able to swivel 360 degrees and can even fire directly downward. Auto-lock sequences make it so that The Gigas will fire on any living organism(starting with the largest heat signatures and working down) except for those wearing FFE's (Friendly Fire Emmiters) Which prevent a lock-on. Only Belias and Chargraine Foehammer carry these, and the frequency used is unique to only those two devices. Also carries two missle pods beneath either wing, built into the hull, itself. Also has the ability to cloak at will, but lacks sheilds, unlike the Ifrit. This fact is easily made up for with it's incredible speed and thick armor, which is especially strong around the wings and engines.

History

Once named the Windrunner, this ship was, at one time, schedueled to be scrapped. Seeing the potential in the old bird, Belias bought the Windrunner at the last moment, and immediately began rebuilding it from the ground up, adding smuggling compartments and various weapons to both the interior and exterior. After replacing the outdated engines and wing flaps, he rechristened the ship The Gigas, which quickly outperformed any ship then on the market. It's fast, maneuverable, and can outrun and outgun any airship in it's class.

So begins...

The Gigas drops from the sky, still in mid-transition from being cloaked. The air around it ripples as the nose nearly strikes the ground in front of Chargraine, the engines kicking up a wave of sand and soil in all directions as one of the forward facing cannons dips just before Belias, to give him a way to climb aboard. PROTOCOL_12:Pilot_in_danger=ACTIVE. As soon as The Gigas was able to lift up from the ground, the pair of dual 20mm turrents beneath the hull would be able to open up on the rather large, imposing male standing in front of the airship.

The Gigas lifts up off of the ground, it's pilot now in tow. As Belias clambers into the sealed cockpit, the computerized voice of the autopilot would ring throughout the cockpit. "PROTOCOL_15:Enemies_leaving_battle QUERY:Pursue=Confirmation_Required"

The Gigas fires it's thrusters as it dives straight towards the lake, entering swiftly as it's forward cannons sythe into the water, barely even making a splash as it submerges. Only a few feet after the tailwing was underwater, controls were surrendered to Belias as the ship changes from it's combustion engines to a pair of small propellers, in the rear. The cockpit would remain sealed, even within great depths. "AUTOPILOT=Disabled.."

PPOTOCAL_12:Pilot_in_danger=ACTIVE. The Gigas immediately opens up with it's dual 20mm turrets, fireing a combined four rounds a second, locking on to Jerico. Averna seemed to be excluded, as she was both unarmed, and further away from Belias than Jerico.

The Gigas activates it's thrusters, jerking suddenly to it's left, banking so that it's wings are nearly perpendicular to the ground, in an attempt to throw Jerico from it's hull. It wouldn't flip over, as only the bottow of the hull held the ship's thrusters. Without them, The Gigas would pankace faster than it would be able to self-correct.

The Gigas rights itself, quickly, then rolls in the opposite direction, attempting to throw Jerico from it's hull. In this protocol, the guns weren't active, sparing Chargraine and Averna from their bullets. As far as the protocol went, if this maneuver was unsuccessfull, it would use more drastic measures.

The Gigas righted itself one more, turning it's nose towards the sky as it begins to rise high into the air. As it clears the treeline, the winds whiping around the ship would be immence. If they failed to dislodge Jerico, The Gigas would have only one final plan of recourse.

WARNING. WARNING. Depresurization detected. Cockpit damage detected. The Gigasrolls, slightly as the cockpit is ejected from the hull, flying backwards and down towards the ground, where it would land somewhere in the water. The ship continues to rise, now planning to use the high altitude to it's advantage.

The Gigas shudders as the control panel is struck. ERROR=12;PROTOCOL=ABORTED;STRUCTURAL_DAMAGE_DETECTED. The Gigas draws power from the engine, winding them down as the airship halts it's forward momentum, only to twist in midair as it's nose points down. The Gigas continued to fall from the sky, the sensors only barely registering Jerico's leap from the hull. More urgent, it seemed, was it's imminent collision with the hard, unforgiving ground, which was quickly rushing up to meet it. As programed, the brakes wer hit, and the wings were locked in either directing, sending the ship into a spiral that would, hopefully, slow it's rapid descent.

The Gigas 's readings weren't good. At this speed, the hull would not survive a direct impact. Unacceptable. Just as The Gigas reaches the ground, the rudders are jammed as far up as possible, sending the ship jerking upward, and altering it's trajectory so that it was going more at an angle, towards the ground. With a loud, resounging Crash!, The Gigas would strike the sandy ground of the beach, the hull cracking in several places as it flips, end-over-end, towards the water's edge.

"Good-bye.."
