Description

Name: The Jupiter Corporation.

Founder: Lochlyn Haley.

Leader(s): Lochlyn Haley.

Date Founded: Unknown.

Public Status: Terrorist organization. De facto rulers of Hera Prime.

Allies: Elias Crowley, The Rogues, Gen. Andarta Heller, The Human Brotherhood, The Hessian.

Enemies: Everyone who isn't an ally.

Manpower: Unknown.

History:

It's unknown when exactly the Jupiter Corporation was founded, they aren't known by any other names. All that's known is that they were founded by a man named Lochlyn Haley, a powerful man with god-like abilities hailing from London, England. But even this is disputed, rumors say that he and his organization have existed for many years working in the background. Be it manipulating major events, engaging in secret wars, in wars by proxy, and even terrorism on civilians and military through the years.

Recently, they've openly declared war on any and everyone who doesn't ally with them in their war against the known universe. Their motives are shrouded in mystery, some seeing them as warmongers in the same vein as the Spartans, others as terrorists, and others power-hungry zealots.

Despite it's association with the terrorist Lochlyn Haley, the Jupiter Corporation was filled with men and women who knew not what their CEO and founder was up to. After several long months, it's still existing board of directors were able to clear their names and in an effort to rebuild the company in defiance of Haley, made moves to bring it back.

Under the leadership of CEO Sarai Elbaz, the legitimate Jupiter Corporation was able to make it's way back into the technology game. Unfortunately for Elbaz, the actions of Haley has left many distrustful and has even painted a target on her back for Haley himself.

Even then, she plans to earn the trust of the masses and defy Haley. Letting him and her detractors know that she will not be bullied.

General Logistics:

The Jupiter Corporation's main combat spacecraft, known only as Morningstars, make use of homegrown shielding technology, armor and weapons. The shields are designed to take large amounts of kinetic damage while the ship's hulls and armor are designed to absorb large amounts of plasma, energy and kinetic damage as well. The shielding used on ships are several different variants of shields stacked up on each other and powered by an unknown source of energy from within the ships. This easily explains why the shields can take several different forms of attack unscathed.

The weapons used by the ships vary, but are mostly the same all around. They include Chroniton Torpedos, Directed Energy Lasers, Railgun fired kinetic rounds about ten times bigger than the shells used in tanks, Plasma-based weapons, Nuclear Missiles and Energy Disruptors.

The Jupiter Corporation makes use of hundreds of thousands soldiers acting as a personal secret army for their leader, Lochlyn, as well as a large undefined number of mercenaries. Estimates for his mercenaries range from thousands to the hundreds of thousands. Most soldiers and mercenaries aligned with the Jupiter Corporation are armed with kinetic and pseudo-energy based weapons. They also make use of supersoldiers, most seen as being nearly indestructible and able to fight entire battalions of infantry before being forced to retreat, if retreat is an option.

Ship Weapons:

- Chroniton Torpedos: Chroniton torpedoes are ship-mounted weapons developed through study of temporal science. The torpedoes are capable of passing directly through an enemy's shields due to the fact that they are in a constant state of temporal flux. Due to this, the torpedoes cause massive damage to a ship and can, if the ship is weak enough, destroy them in just a few shots.

- Jupiter Torpedo: The components of a Jupiter Corporation torpedo are contained within an elongated elliptical casing, comparable to a tank shell. The weapon is armed with a nuclear warhead. The warhead has a detonation chamber filled with antimatter, nuclear energy, photons and plasma. Upon detonation the torpedo created a matter-antimatter explosion, discharging the contents of the detonation chamber, effectively destroying it's targets or damaging them, and releasing a deadly flood of ionizing radiation with lasting effects on land.

- Anti-proton Beam: The Anti-proton Beam is a directed energy weapon capable of potentially causing massive amounts of damage to ships and land mass. The exact mechanics that go into creating an Anti-proton Beam are unknown, but the beams themselves are encased by plasma, keeping them heated to high degrees reaching at least 400,000,000 Kelvin, and ensuring that they deposit the correct amount of energy to cause damage.

So begins...

A large ship would make it's slow approach on the planet of Langara, the ship was almost a thousand meters long, about five hundred meters wide. The ship radiated different energy, possibly using more than one way of powering itself and it's shields. The shields could absorb amounts of damage that would seem impossible, even with the technology available to the universe.

The ship began to speed up towards the planet, reaching a speed most large ships should be unable to reach. It was unclear to those watching or attempting to intercept ship where the unusually fast spacecraft was going at first.

That was until it reached the skies over Caprica City. Rioting and unrest from the city below was eclipsed by this new ship. Some would probably wonder who had arrived. New Aschen ships? Special forces maybe? Hadante?

It was something new. Something dangerous. Those who could tell that this wasn't aid were already fleeing or awaiting a fight with invaders or police attempting to stop them.

Whoever or whatever was inside the ship didn't seem intent on doing anything. One could wonder if the ship's arrival was just a ploy, keeping people distracted from something bigger.

A large ship entered the atmosphere above. Kelby noticed it before Roana did with a gasp. Roana angled her face skyward, eyes glazing as she took in the sight. Somewhere in her pocket, a familiar jingle sounded that she had received a text message. There was no time for that right now, though.

There was a particularly nasty looking mob swelling before them on the street. The girls had done a good job thus far of avoiding other citizens, for most of them had seemingly gone mad, but the crowd ahead looked...Well, troublesome. They both paused, and looked to each other.

"No," Roana shook her head, knowing that getting caught up in that mob was as good as a death sentence. Especially if the police amassed.

"What other options?" Kelby looked from the mob to Roana, to the buildings behind them. She was right, as much as it furrowed Roana's brow to consider it. They would have to push past the angry, screaming mob. With one last squeeze, they headed off down the street.

At first, they were able to finangle their way around the edges. Eventually the girth of the mob was just too large. It swayed and rocked, sometimes surging into a store front, other times filtering around a burning car. Everyone seemed to have something to say about the Divine Shadow, or UCON, or both. Kelby managed to doge in time, but Roana took an elbow to the head. Silently she ducked from the vision of the offender, who had already taken to ranting about exactly what he would do to the xeno that dare get in his way. They squeezed past the perimeter of a grouping of looters planning their next strike and continued through the growing crowd.

Kelby kept her eyes on the prize: her place of employment. Roana kept from glancing at the sky, from getting hit in the head, and from drawing too much attention.

The ship remained still, it seemed to be waiting for something or the people inside were preparing something. As the Aschen attempted to make contact with the ship, the ship began to ascend slowly. One would probably assume it was getting ready to leave due to being contacted, but the ship stopped moving after a few seconds.

A hatch on the bottom of the ship opened up. But, the ship did nothing else. The open hatch led to darkness from below, the only thing seen inside were several mechanical arms seeming to grab and move things. Maybe it was a cargo ship, the ship didn't seem to have any immediately noticeable weapons on it.

That was until the mechanical arms began to lower from the hatch, they held a large egg-shaped object.

Soon the object began to drop from the mechanical arms, falling to the ground below. Upon contact with the surface it would explode, the effects of the explosion seemed to be devastating to a good portion of the city directly.

The shockwave from the explosion possibly flipping vehicles, compromising the foundations of buildings, sending people flying or bursting eardrums.

The Military response was swift once the initial explosion rocked the city. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of thousands of lives were suddenly extinguished. The City was suddenly rocked to it's foundation as the explosion blasted out buildings and flattened skyscrapers near the epicenter.

McKenna and the others near the Police station would be privy to the explosion. The dull thundering in the distance before the CPF Officer screamed. "Get down!" Before he grabbed the group and threw them to the floor as the shock-wave blew through windows and threw debris and papers all through the Police station.

It wasn't long before a second crack echoed through the city. But this one was different. In an automatic response, Van Graff Missile Base had responded to the sudden attack, diverting it's Anti-Orbital Magnetic Acceleration Cannon perched on a mountaintop it had locked onto the strange ship and it had opened fire, hurling a single high-caliber slug of ferric-tungsten towards the vessel. The speed was astonishing, and approaching light speeds, the projectile left a contrail of superheated plasma in it's wake, cutting slap through most shields and armor, and reducing the ship to slag in mere seconds.

The Sheer Kinetic energy of the projectile would enable it not only to cripple the ship, but punch a hole clean through the center. Afterall stopping a projectile with this much kinetic energy required near infinite energy and the thermodynamic energy released would vaporize the ship, and half the planet.

The Military of course watched and waited to see if the dust cleared and they would need to fire another shot.

Inviere watched the interference on the DRADIS, before she opened a Channel to Admiral Harkin. "Maintain approach, hopefully this did the trick."

Shortly after the initial blast, fires began to dot the city, and the wail of sirens echoed in the distance as First Responders mobilized to mitigate the damage.

Shortly after the attack, Televisions across the Aschen Empire were tuned into the Minister of Defense, Helene Chaska as she delivered her address to the Quorum, and the Aschen People;

Good evening.

Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very society came under attack in a deliberate and deadly terrorist act.

The victims were in the streets, or in their offices -- secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers. Moms and dads. Friends and neighbors.

Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.

The pictures of alien starships dropping bombs, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger.

These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation.

Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of This Empire. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of Aschen resolve.

The United Aschen Empire was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for order, prosperity and opportunity in the galaxy. And no one will keep that light from shining.

Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature, and we responded with the best of the Empire, with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.

Immediately following the attack, I implemented our government's emergency response plans. Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in Caprica City and Delphi, to help with local rescue efforts.

Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the galaxy from further attacks.

The functions of our government continue without interruption. Imperial agencies in Caprica which had to be evacuated today are reopening for essential personnel tonight and will be open for business tomorrow.

Our financial institutions remain strong, and the Aschen economy will be open for business as well.

The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed the full resources for our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.

I appreciate so very much the members of Quorum who have joined me in strongly condemning these attacks. And on behalf of the Aschen people, I thank the many galactic leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance.

The Aschen Empire and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the galaxy and we stand together to win the war against terrorism.

Tonight I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us spoken through the ages in Zeus; 21:3: "Even though I walk through the valley of the impending doom, verily, i shall fear no evil, for You are with me."

This is a day when all Aschen from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. The Aschen have stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time.

None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.

Thank you. Good night and may his Merciful shadow, fall upon you.

Nothing looked good in the skies. A large, unfamiliar vessel loomed at large, casting a bleak shadow over everything. Other ships had begun to occupy the atmosphere, many shuttles were departing, many fires lined the horizon. Roana waited as Kelby cleared her way through the thick line of riot cops surrounding the building. They argued with Kelby at first, but thankfully she had presented her ID before actions were taken. They hadn't cleared Roana. She would need a pass, which was Kelby's top priority. The main atrium was crowded, but there was an easy path to the door. Eyebrows were raised, a co-worker waved, many were suprised she had made it at all it seemed. With a set jaw, she all but slammed her I.D. on the receptionist's desk.

"Need a guest pass."
The receptionist didn't look pleased at her phone conversation being interrupted. Her eyelids closed and wrinkled in an exagerated fashion as she reached slowly for the guest ID card. Sliding it across the counter, the woman tapped it twice before returning full attention to the phone call. It was her sister, by the sound of it. Kelby didn't care: she had to get back to Roana.

Outside, Roana waited impatiently in the crowd. They were mulling about, chanting of riots, while she stood in the mix of people between those spitting in the face of the assembled police. She was one of the people ready to fade through their ranks if the rioters did strike: ready to be protected. Her phone made a noise, indicating she had a message. That's right!

Roana fumbled her phone from her purse, slinging it back over her shoulder and tapping through the lock screens.

_Where r u

Braxton. Her heart skipped a beat, grasping the device in both hands and sweeping in a reply.

Graystone Indst. u safe? _

There she waited, staring at the phone, while inside Kelby fought through a crowd that had thickened while the receptionist recieved her. Where had this crowd come from? With a frustrated sigh she pulled out her research badge and began elbowing through. Had to get Roana, who outside was fully attended by her phone. Braxton had replied quickly; a good sign if there ever was one.

_4now. U?

Roana hammered in a reply, looking up as there was a noise. A strange noise. She nearly dropped her phone, but instead typed something else in and hit send. She then shoved the phone back into her bag. All around her, everyone else had taken to staring at the sky. Out of the large unfamiliar vessel descended arms. At least, they would be arms if they had been human. Fear and disgust crossed her face, the crowds began to grow silent. In the strange mechanical arms was an egg. It could be nothing good, for it was nothing familiar. Inside, many hiders by the window had gone silent at a child's shouts to "LOOK!" Kelby had made it to the door, and was negociating passage when they turned to observe the arms, the egg. Kelby screamed in horror.

The silent crowd raged at once, surging towards the Graystone Industries main building. Roana was caught in the shuffle, her bag at some point becoming detached from her. A heavily armed officer, possibly an army guy, grabbed her and flung to the ground with Roana. She had been far too busy watching, forever imprinting into her mind, what it looked like when a bomb was dropped.

The claw had let go.

Inside, everyone spilled into back rooms, downstairs, anywhere but where they were. Kelby managed to wrestle through two doors and find a spot in a toilet stall. The bomb was dropped and, for both girls, all turned to darkness.

Down the hall, as Kelby drifted to consciousness, there was activity. Why was she asleep, and why was she wet? It was cold and echoey where ever she was, and it was awfully dark...and her foot was asleep. In a...toilet? Yes, in a toilet. Her location had been identified, when she noticed she was surrounded in rubble. Bricks of some sort, and plaster possibly?

It all rushed back to her as someone sobbing not ten feet away was heard. They choked on their moans, babbling nonsense and shuffling around. The sobs turned to shrieks, shrieks with words and a name. Accusing shrieks that somehow sounded farther than she knew they were. Kelby cringed, as memories took place of irritation and wet shoes. There had been something large, they had all be staring outside at...

Roana.

Kelby scrambled, climbing under the fallen bathroom stall wall and over rubble from the collapsed corner of the room. Apparently she had chosen her safety place wisely. Rushing water began to mix with the sobs, as she realized her shoes were more than just wet. Her shoes were soaked. Had a sink...exploded? The cries morphed into wails. Kelby felt her way around the wall to the door, as the sounds of someone losing their sanity with their dead friend in their arms droned on. In the hall, low lights had activated along the floor in beans. People rushed by, but they still sounded far away. Had her hearing gone? She was slightly dizzy... It was dusty here...Not a good sign. Kelby pulled her shirt over her mouth. Mournfully, she thought of her friend.

Roana.

As she came to the main atrium lobby of the building, the breath left Kelby completely. Dust caked everything, and the air. Glass was shattered, people were strewn about. Corpses. She pulled her shirt over her mouth again. A broadcast could just be heard, she wobbled forth and angled an ear, as other survivors straggled to life. Kelby reached a grave conclusion, a single tear pushed a shining trail down her cheek. Through the dust, in silence, she grieved her loss.

Roana...was surely dead out there.

The ship was split by the shots that came towards, each one tearing part of the sip rather easily. This showed that the ship may have been made from an extremely weak metal or alloy. It was clear to the more seasoned soldiers and intelligence agents that the ship wasn't part of an invasion. It was the suicide bomber. The distraction.

One had to wonder what they were being distracted from. A group of enemy soldiers finding another way? Domestic terrorism looking to cease the opportunity presented by the rioting? It would be nothing but speculation for now.

The alien ship remained in the air for as long as it could, chunks of debris falling to the city below. Eventually the ship began to descend, it lost any power it had remaining and was on a crash course with Caprica. Debris continued to fall, the ship's bridge and most of it's front half descending towards the outer regions of the city.

Upon contact with the city buildings, people, vehicles, wildlife were all mowed down by the ship,.Pieces of metal tearing apart from the spacecraft, littering much of the area with debris. It was safe to say that the rioters were being given a chance to prolong their dissent.

The military, CPF and local law enforcement were going to have a lot to deal with.

A large dark blue ship approached Misrana, it was well-armed but didn't seem outwardly hostile. The weapons may have just been a precaution against pirates and marauding soldiers who decided they'd get more out of war crimes than fighting wars. The ship slowed down gradually, making contact with those on the ground.

"This is the Comet, requesting permission to land. We are on official business. Uh... business business. We are looking to offer services to Misrana and it's people." The ship's captain said, "Our employer, Lochlyn Haley, is here to meet with your leadership personally for this business venture."

Lochlyn sat in a miniature throne in the middle of his ship's bridge, peering out with dark eyes at Misrana. He hoped they allowed him on the planet. They had so much potential, he didn't want to waste it by destroying the planet if they refused him.

The attack on the Aschen was only the start. Lochlyn's army of clones, mercenaries, fanatics, supersoldiers, and what some might call monsters was growing with each day. Just a few more pieces to put in place and Lochlyn could take control of the board.

It was going to be checkmate sooner or later.

Romero stood quietly in the underground complex hidden beneath the rubble of the Jupiter Corporation building, brown eyes on looking through glass. On the other side was body after body, cyborg bodies, all of them held in place by what appeared to be spikes.

Romero was running whole working laboratory was hidden beneath the streets of Wing City and the people of Terra were none the wiser. Maybe Lochlyn couldn't stay, but his creations and his henchmen could to make sure things ran smoothly.

They were exactly where he needed them to be in order to change the universe. And any other universes that needed to change for the better. What was better to Lochlyn may not have been what was better by the standards of some other people, but the ends did justify the means, didn't they?

"We're ready, sir." A scientist told Romero, "Let them out." Romero told the scientist, with just a few pushes of several buttons the lifeless cyborgs fell from the spikes to the floor. "Rise." Romero muttered, each body springing to life. Or what was as close to life you could be when it wasn't even in your own hands anymore.

A door opened, it was clear that the cyborgs were meant to venture out. Out into the streets of Wing City, then eventually to the streets of Solinus, then Verinotte Hollow, and so on and so on until the whole world was left in flames and fear of the will of one man.

The small army began their march out into the streets through the doorway, walking blindly through a dark tunnel.

Outside sat several construction workers, they spoke among themselves about various happenings in the world of sports, politics, and their own lives. Completely oblivious to what was happening below them.

That was until a body shot out from the rubble, then another, and another, and another. Cyborg after cyborg climbed out from the rubble, rushing the construction workers and anyone else they could find on the streets. The beat them, strangled them, bit them, scratched them, stabbed them. There was no preferred method to the violence, that's all it was.

A seemingly random act of violence based on the will of one man.

Several police cars moved down Sol Avenue slowly, people running from the chaos in the business district and the already responding police officers and gun owners. "Out of the street!" One officer shouted, trying to clear civilians out of their path. They couldn't help if they couldn't move fast enough.

"I said move!" The officer shouted at a few men and women who still stood in the street ever after everyone else was taking to the sidewalks. "We can go around them, there should be enough space." The car's driver said, "Try it." The other cop said. The vehicle began to inch around the people in the street, "Can't you hear?"

"We said get out of the stree-..." Before the police officer could finish speaking the people in the street were pulling him from the car, they were cyborgs like the ones who were swarming the business district. There were so many of them pouring of the rubble of the old Jupiter Corporation building that it was becoming increasingly hard to keep the chaos contained to one area.

"Holy fuck!" The officer driving the squad shouted, pressing down on the gas. The other officer was still being grappled, half his body out of the window as the mindless cyborgs latched onto him. He kicked a foot up, slamming it against his partner's cheek.

The kick disoriented the other officer, causing him to turn the wheel and drive his car into fire hydrant.

Cyborg after cyborg approached the crashed vehicle, their numbers seeming to double by the minute.

"Fuck..." The officer said as he pulled his gun from it's holster, firing at the cyborgs who approached. Fighting off any who were trying to climb through windows or the broken windshield.

Lyra Drelas was arguably one of the most unlucky women on the planet. Despite her happy go lucky attitude, looks, and charm, she somehow managed to land herself in the most unfavorable of situations. Well, today was going to be different. Today she was going to seek change. No more glamour and glitz for this young woman, no siree! She was throwing away her past and seeking a brand new career!

She had to start somewhere, and was here in the Business District when the attack began. Sipping a coffee from SolCreds, Lyra clicked along to her appointment. She was so happy she could-

"Aaaaahhhhhgh!" Screams.

Spinning on her heel Lyra rest her eyes upon horrors more unspeakable than her coffee-ruined dress. She too, screamed, as the strange cyborg-esque beings lurched about, grabbing citizens and ripping them to pieces. Someone pushed past her on their way in a building, the strange things streaking after them. Her feet were rooted to the spot by fear.

By the time she thought to move, it was too late.

From the direction of the gardens to the west, a lone young man sauntered onto the street, hands in his pockets and his hood up to cast shadows over his face. The sound of the car crash drew his attention towards the scene further down the road, his interest piqued. It seemed that someone, or something, was making short work of a pair of WCPD officers.

Arien mused briefly to himself on whether he cared, and found that he didn't. They could go fuck themselves.

The vampire drifted down the road slowly, bright green eyes observing the horde of cyborgs descending on the car. He halted a distance away, leaning onto the wall of a garden. Civilians were scattering past him to escape the violence, but he was unfettered. Perhaps it was Chief Delancy within that car, desperately trying to keep the cyborgs at bay.

Would that he were so lucky. Alas. It probably wasn't.

It was only a matter of time before the mindless cyborgs saw Arien, the young vampire was as much of a target to the horde as a child, or a dog, or a man, or a woman. No one was safe, that was the mantra of Lochlyn Haley and his legion of followers. Safety was a mere illusion as long as they focused on trivial things, as long as they were selfish.

Maybe Arien proved what Lochlyn thought about most people in the universe, but who was there to see the young vampire watch as people died around him. Only whatever gods were still paying attention, that assuming any of them actually gave a damn.

A few of the cyborgs began to advance quickly on Arien, a few being dropped before they could get close by Invictus soldiers, Wing City police officers and NPA Enforcers. But, it was clear that it would take more than bullets and brawn alone to put an end to the swarming cyborg man-eaters.

NPA Enforcers, police officers and Invictus Elites set up a small barricade on Main Street, the cyborg infestation that had began in the business district was starting to spiral even more out of control. It didn't help that the last month had been problem after problem, now the next was going to be more of the same.

Maybe this problem would go away like the others. That was the hope so far. But, Romero, who watched from the secure complex beneath the business district, knew it wouldn't be over that quickly. The necromancer watched from hacked CCTV cameras around the city the growing chaos.

The many people Lochlyn's organization kidnapped, or bought from human traffickers probably ranged in the hundreds of thousands. That was just the ones in cold storage on Terra. It was counting any more cyber zombies that were being made, or that would be made from the loved ones of those killed in this first wave.

A few helicopters flew overhead, snipers and riflemen firing shots at the cyborg zombies. Keeping them away from areas people had barricaded themselves inside, protecting people and police officers on the streets who were still amidst the chaos. Arya Bones was in one of those helicopters, a Seraphim carrier borrowed from the NPA.

The Invictus heavy aimed her Barret, taking a shot that seemed to split the head of a cyborg with ease.

"Like a watermelon!" The southern soldier taunted.

As a number of the cyborgs drew near to him, Arien sighed languidly. The vampire glanced away, scoping out the various exits from the road and determining that the chaos was already spreading in those directions too. It seemed as though, at least briefly, he would have to cut himself a path out. So much for keeping a low profile.

A silvery dagger appeared in the teenager's hand, drawn in a swift motion from within his jacket. Lazily, carelessly, he pressed the tip of the blade to his palm, cutting a line down it and up his arm, causing blood to pour from the wound. It dripped from his hand, but it never hit the ground, instead consumed in wisps of red-black smoke as it fell. Crimson filled the vampire's eyes.

Wave of dark power washed over the cyborgs, and with each step they took closer to Arien their life force began to drain. Weakness gripped them like a vice, their biological strength abandoning them to rely entirely on the robotic sides of them. Pain assaulted them from the inside out as their blood began to burn with corruption, and what little was left of their minds was assaulted with one simple command that threatened to override all other thought - conscious or otherwise.

'Fear me.'

A line of plasma cut a swathe through the cyborgs in the street as a fighter craft soared past, a blur of blue that moved at speeds hard to keep track of with the naked eye. The Blue Eclipse jetted through the streets of the city, swerving between buildings and arcing back up and around to come by again.

Each pass was accompanied by a rain of energy and rockets that blasted holes in the crowds of cyborgs with impressive precision. Within the cockpit, Jayden's eyes were narrowed through his visor as Avita locked target after target.

Some of the shots he didn't take. Either he could see civilians in the line of fire, or he couldn't be sure that they wouldn't stray into it. It wouldn't do any good for him to be blowing up the people he was trying to protect, after all.

"This is Jayden Ryder with the Terran militia, requesting a brief rundown of what the hell is going on down there?" Jayden spoke into his headset, patched into the channel the city's law enforcement and military were utilising. "This must've escalated fucking quickly!"

The TV across Wing City flickers and changes from whatever is being shown on that channel to, at once, display the same Terracasted message. A neat-looking suited reporter is sat behind a basic desk, his black hair neatly combed. After a short moment, he looked into the camera and spoke.

"We interrupt this program to bring you a special emergency broadcast. Reports are coming in from across the City as a veritable army of what appears to be cyborgs have flooded out of the business district."

The footage cuts to show Main Street, Sol Avenue and the rest of the business district from overhead, scenes of chaos and violence unfolding below as NPA, WCPD and Invictus troops clashed with the relentless cyborgs, alongside vigilantes and civilians fighting for their lives.

"Where are these cyborgs coming from? What do they want, or who sent them? All citizens are being advised to evacuate from their homes and the city until this incursion can be contained. Those behind the cyborg lines are advised to barricade your doors and await response teams from the WCPD and NPA to clear the area. We'll be bringing you more on this story as it develops."

The camera panned around to show an NPA official seated beside the anchorman, and the broadcast went on, showing footage of the fights and repeatedly detailing evacuation protocols as they developed.

"Zombies? Cyborgs?" Arya asked as her the carrier circled around to make another pass over the street. "Cyborg zombies." An Wing City police officer said over the channel, "Yeah, what he said." Arya agreed, firing off a few shots at the mindless cyborgs on the ground.

Several NPA Enforcers began to charge through the barricade set up on the street, cutting a swath through the cyborgs to clear some sort of path to and from the streets closest to the business district. That was ground zero, who know how many people were trapped in buildings still, or hiding from the hordes that were overtaking the streets.

They needed to get them out and to safety. Despite the overwhelming numbers, the NPA Enforcers were holding their own rather easily.

Arien would be met by a wall of sorts, a block put in place by whoever was controlling the mindless horde. Whoever it was had a stronger will than the insanely violent beings he controlled, pushing back at Arien despite some of the cyborgs coming to the physical strain put on their body by the young vampire.

"Amateur." Romero muttered to himself, watching the CCTV feeds from the bunker below the business district in hopes of finding who was responsible for the mental attack on his small army. They had to be put down, couldn't give the people any hope, could he?

"Pain is a warning that your body is in danger. Heed the warning." Romero said, his lackies glancing towards him as it appeared he was talking to himself.

Again Romero pushed back against Arien, only this time attempting to send an intense pain into Arien's head.

Even flooded with crimson as they were, Arien's eyes widened at the returned mental assault. He had not been expecting anything of the sort. He staggered, grimacing with pain and faltering. His influence over the cyborgs wavered.

He gritted his teeth, forcing himself to straighten, glaring out from beneath his hood. Pain, pain was but a triviality. He knew pain, he knew it well. They were old pals. But there was no question in Arien's mind who was whose master. The silvery dagger moved again, this time plunging violently into his own stomach.

Arien gasped, shuddering as blood began to pour forth from the wound, and spreading his palm. The dark liquid began to rise as it flowed, gathering in the air in rivers that seemed to expand and warp unnaturally.

"I said," the vampire hissed, "fear!"

The tides of blood rushed forth like tendrils, tearing into the group of cyborgs advancing on him and scything through their bodies like spears. He pushed against Romero, but despite the power afforded him by his unholy magic, he lacked the experience of the older man. He was talented with the domination of minds, but not so talented as his foe. The battle of minds was one that he was destined to lose.

The NPA Enforcers were fighting valiantly, their advanced training and armor undoubtedly giving them a much needed-edge in holding back the tide of rampant cyborgs. Arya and Jayden fought from the skies, raining vengeance down on the brutish ravagers below. Police officers barricaded streets and ushered civilians to safety, Invictus Elites covering the streets as best they could. Everywhere, the forces of order and humanity fought against the all-consuming maw of chaos.

But as the battle raged, it became increasingly evident that they were outmatched. Even if they managed to hold their ground against the pressing hordes of zombie-borgs, they could never hope to reach the rest of the city and commence rescue operations. Buildings sat stranded in an ocean of hostiles... terrified citizens able to do little more then barricade their doors and pray for rescue.

One such small collection of coworkers were doing just that, desperately stacking furniture in front of the entrance to their office building.

"Why didn't I get off this planet..." one of them growled as he threw a plastic plant into the pile, "...should have gotten off this planet last fucking month... bought tickets to Misrana... should have left dammit..." His dress shirt was rolled at the sleeves, his tie was wrapped around his bicep where he was bleeding. Sweat pooled off of his skin in rivers.

A scream erupted. "Ohmigod... ohmigod one of them is trying to get in..."

Every head turned and every heart stopped as one of the cyborgs approached the entrance, smashing through the glass doors and madly fighting its way through the crude barricade of furniture and office supplies. A metallic screech filled the lobby. Very human cries of terror followed shortly after.

...and then HE was barreling into it. Wrestling it to the ground. Smashing its gnashing face into the floor and paralyzing it with an arc of electricity from his hand. No one in the lobby had seen precisely where he'd come from. Had he flown in from outside? Emerged from the sewers of the streets? Maybe he'd been with them in the lobby all along... waiting in the shadows...

When the beast lay motionless on the floor, he rose to his full height. His dark cloak fell about his shoulders like a shadow, menacing and discomforting to the onlooking crowd. He was dressed all in black, save for the white mask splayed across his invisible face, stoic and emotionless. Rather then rushing up to embrace their rescuer, the workers only cowered deeper into the lobby, beset with a new, unfamiliar terror. This guy had just saved their lives... so why were they more afraid of him then they had been the cyborg?

He spoke, his voice a subtle mix between cooing whisper and brooding rumble. "How many other people are in this building?"

Every one was silent for a good five seconds before a woman finally worked up the courage to answer. "Uhhh. Besides us twenty in the lobby, there's about... I dunno... maybe... eighty in the stories above? We're the only ones who came down."

"You all need to stay here," the stranger stated firmly, "I'm going to protect this building as best I can before I leave. Do not leave this building. Keep hope. Help will come."

Reaching down, the stranger slung the motionless cyborg over his shoulder before sprinting out of the building all together, his cloak fluttering behind him like a pair of black wings. The crowd only watched in muted silence, unsure what to think of what had just happened. They were glad to be alive, to be sure, but
the nature of their hero was discomforting. Guardian angels were the ones who were supposed to save people... so why had they been rescued by a demon?

The next few cyborgs who tried to enter the building would be mysteriously shocked into unconsciousness.

"He's got potential." Romero said to himself, smirking slightly at the thought of someone he could possibly turn his cause and train to surpass even Romero himself. Every dark lord needed an apprentice or two.

Romero pushed back even harder than he did before against Arien, trying to make it clear to the younger man that there was no room for little boys in a man's world. Or, a man's underworld.

Darkness blanketed over the business district, Sol Avenue and about fifteen block further into this city in all directions. Romero was forcing his minions, despite their injuries, to keep attempting to fight and kill. At least those who still had a brain to corrupt and control.

Some were missing chunks of their bodies or missing limbs, but the cyborgs continued limping, crawling, towards anyone and anything they could see or smell or hear. Now it was becoming a scene out of a horror movie, except the chance of a happy ending were much slimmer when Romero was the one writing the script.

Arya's Seraphim carrier flew close to the ground, whipping about dirt, old newspapers and just about everything people left when they began to run from the cybernetic zombie horde that had descended on main street not long ago. Not only was that, but now apparently a battle between people with superpowers had broken out.

"On that roof!" Arya yelled, rushing to the cockpit to point the pilot in the right direction. A large group of people had taken refuge on the roof of nearby apartment building, it was likely that the building itself was overrun or falling apart due to the fighting on the street.

The helicopter approached the roof, Arya, a few Invictus Elites and a few NPA Enforcers on board reaching out to pull as many people as they could inside. "How many left?" The pilot asked, "Just a few more." An Invictus soldier answered, but as that same soldier turned to grab what he thought was an injured woman he was met with the face of one of the mindless killers.

"Shit!" The soldier shouted, reaching for the revolver on his hip. Before he raise it up the cybernetic zombie was pouncing him. The gun went off, bullet slamming into the back of the helicopter pilot. The pilot, also being an NPA Enforcer, was armored, but the pain he felt only for that moment caused him to jerk his body and lose control of the helicopter.

The helicopter spun around, it's back end clipping a building. Again it spun, the pilot trying to take control once more. But, the damage was done. The helicopter was spiraling out of control, coming down towards Charles.

The shadows of the area started to quiver as something moved through them. Soon a Dragon appeared from the shadows on top of a nearby building that seemed to be safe enough for the time being. Not that he couldn't handle his own. He wasn't weak, he wasn't completely all that strong either, but he was strong enough to defend himself when necessary. And to him that was enough to give him some sort of peace of mind, if only a little.

Scales as black as night, eyes a dark forest green, Draco of the Shadows had arrived to the scene and looked at what was happening with a cautious curiosity. Some of his attention was towards the Horde of Androids who were fighting the local militia/police/etc. while another small portion of his attention were on the giant metal flying things that he was not familiar with, and finally, the rest of his attention was on the battle between some sort of wolf and stone man. They seemed to be the bigger threat here.

Of course, one couldn't truly blame him for thinking that way, he was over a few million years old (most of that time spent dead) and felt like he could take on the entire world. But that was not his intention, not in the slightest. He was merely observing at the moment.

"I simply can't understand the reason why humans are always trying to either kill each other, or other races, or why other races are doing the same." he thought aloud to himself. "I know Dragon's are no exception, but still, other races, (humans especially from my own experience) just love killing each other." he finished his thoughts with that for the moment, looking around the scene again.

He would not help anyone unless asked, this was not his fight. He turned and headed for the nearest shadow big enough for him to use on the roof. When he got to it, he disappeared within it, and reappeared on another build nearby that seemed much more stable than the one he was previously on. He flapped his wings gently to stretch them out, and his tail twitched behind him. He felt...something odd about this place. This city, it felt off. He had always felt it, but it was stronger than before this time. Though that was probably the air being disturbed due to the Seraphim carrier flying so close to the ground.

The Seraphim spun out of control, rapidly spiraling towards the city below, a collision that would mean certain death for the soldiers on the carrier. The mindless brute gnashed its metal teeth, roaring as it struggled with the Enforcer even as the aircraft descended into a free fall. This wasn't good...

A dark shadow passed over the doomed Seraphim as something flew past it. A second later, a stranger's feet clanged on to the Seraphim's entrance, magnetizing to the floor quickly. His dark cloak fluttered behind him like a raging shadow, the white mask spread over his face betraying nothing. With a flick of his hand, he launched some sort of blurring black projectile at the single cyborg in the carrier, striking the beast in the chest and forehead with powerful force, sending him barreling off of the Enforcer and plummeting out of the opposite entrance.

"Everybody hang on!" he roared over the raging wind and the screaming of the Seraphim's failing engine. All at once, he threw back his cloak, the fabric fluttering to either side of him like a pair of black wings. His torso was plated in a tight-fitting shaded armor that could have been metal or buffed leather. The symbol of a crescent moon was etched between his pectorals.

With several swift motions, the stranger cut every seat belt and restraint in the carrier, his abysmal projectiles sticking to the hull of the ship after being thrown and emitting a faint, misty aura. From his cloak shot out black ropes like strands of sticky ink, latching on to every crew member in the Seraphim and pulling them close to the stranger's chest. If all went according to his plan, every soldier would be forcibly tied to the stranger's own body in a matter of seconds.

With the crew harnessed to his own body, the stranger leaped, abandoning the carrier just as it descended into the rows of skyscrapers below. His cloak shot out against the yellowing sky, rippling madly for half a second before straightening into a rigid glider-like structure. Even with what was likely over a dozen people strapped to his body, he seemed to have no trouble flying. A ball of red flame plumed beneath them as the Seraphim crashed and exploded.

They would glide for a half a minute before the stranger safely brought them down on to the roof of a smaller building, quickly detaching the entire group from his body upon touching ground. Assuming everything went as intended, no one would be harmed. Everyone would have survived.

"Is everyone alright?" the stranger looked at the small party inquisitively. His chest was rising and falling rapidly, as if he were out of breath.

With a final curse of anger, Arien retreated from his attempts on the cyborgs' minds, buckling under the pressure from their unseen master. Shaking the disorientation off with a grimace, the young vampire took a step backwards, returning his full focus to the more physical side of his attack.

He was like a kraken at the centre of a writhing mass of crimson tentacles, lashing at the approaching creatures violently - some thrown from their feet, others run through. Arien's eyes slipped upwards as the darkness flooded the streets, narrowing in irritation. Perhaps it was time to make an exit.

Still fending off the horde with his tendrils of red, Arien began to back away towards the closest alleyway, intent on escaping to the rooftops.
