The Liarror

Lying Mirrors.

0 · 210 views · located in Gambit's Storeroom

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by lostamongtrees

Description

Image

Mirrors in which the reflection is independent from the person they belong to.
These reflections are awfully rude, and will go as far as cracking themselves to avoid helping. T
he crack is, of course, the asker's fault.

Hey! You!
Yes, you. What are you doing?

So begins...

The Liarror's Story

Suddenly, reality would shift.

It would appear that wherever he was before, he now was not, and wherever he was going, was now gone. Instead, the character would find himself buried deep in some unknown jungle, plants towering high above him. The animal being would be the smallest thing here aside from the dirt and air, it would seem.

A path would reveal itself, leading around a giant pink and orange fern, to the left, around another corner, under a fallen green mushroom, and of course this was all very mossy.

Unfathomably high were the trees, the path seemed to end at one of these giants.

The plant rustled as it was ripped, the interior seeming bioluminescent.

As the tree heard the words, it would begin to tremble. The very earth beneath them would quake as the roots began to stir, pulling themselves creaking from the ground in a shower of dirt and debris. Up the roots went, the tree pitching forward towards the human at a ridiculously slow speed.

Thought the roots stopped moving, the tree still slowly pitched forward.

Slower.

And slower.

And slower.

Was it slowing down?

At this point, the dust had settled. If he would turn around, he would see a large, but not oversized, mirror that seemed to have been unearthed by the moving roots.

Nope, the tree was still pitching forward, but it wasn't any danger.

In the reflection of the mirror would be him, but it was not him. It was not the anti-him, either. It just, was not him. Though, it looked just like him.

It sounded just like him, too, but it was assuredly not him.

"Why aren't you here?"

"I see only win win," Said the reflection.

"Besides, have you tried going backwards, or forwards, or anywhere but where you are now?"

The reflection snickered.

"I know where you can find a map."

The reflection snickered again,

"You don't," the mirror said, "But the tree might. Besides, haven't you come across anything strange lately?"

"How about now?"

Suddenly the mirror shattered, sending shards of glass flying in every direction.

His foot would go through empty space.

The mirror appeared to be a portal.

In the corner of the store room, half covered in a sheet, stood a golden framed mirror.

John turns and sees the mirror. "Ooh! What's this?" He inspects the mirror, curious as to why it is here.

The mirror gleamed and as it did it spoke, β€œWhat are you?”

John jumped back as the mirror spoke to him, asking who he was. "M-me? Um... well, I'm just the new bouncer who got hired for this place," John said nervously. "Who are you?"

St. John Bovinesque Jr. was sitting on a crate, waiting for the magical mirror who'd questioned his identity to answer his question. It felt as if he'd been standing there for almost four months.
"This is stupid. Why won't it answer?" John thought aloud.
Maybe because it already got the information it needs, a smooth voice said from within his head.
"What the- Who are you?!"
Hey, calm down, buddy. It's just me, your subconscious. I'm your brain.
"Oh, okay. What are you talking about, then?"
Didn't your parents ever tell you about how you aren't supposed to tell anyone your personal information on the internet? the voice cooed.
John thought for a moment. He couldn't exactly remember much of what his parent's told him. … come to think of it, he could remember much of his parents, period. On second thought, though, he was still very confused by recent events, and his mind was kind of fuzzy. His memories would come back soon, probably. But in the meantime... "I... I think so. Yeah I'm pretty sure they did," John said carefully.
Well, isn't magical communication kind of like the internet?
"I suppose..."
Then you're already done for! You just shared your personal information with someone online!
"Oh no! You're right! Crap, this is bad!"
You bet it's bad! Soon there's probably going to be a bunch of pedos swarming around you!
"What do I do, Brain?!"
Go upstairs to your friends and try to build some barricades. If they come in you can throw them out because you are a bouncer.
"Hey, you're right! Thanks, Brain! I owe you one!"
Anytime, man. Hey, I do live in you, after all.
John jumped to his feet, smashed the mirror with his fist just for safe measure, and bounded up the steps, passing the body of a young teenage girl who'd apparently tripped and fallen down the stairs, and into the common area of Gambit's Bar.
