The Twins, Phil and Benny

Two men, one vision.

0 · 573 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Jerico Do'Lantul

Description

Both always wear exactly what the other wears. Who decides what is unknown. Ordinarily, they wear matching black suit jackets with white shirt, underneath and a red tie, complete with black dress shoes. They're both built rather well, but are, by all accounts, normal human beings. They often hint that there is more to them than meets the eyes, but this is mostly just postering.

Personality

Phil tends to start conflits,
But benny is the better fighter.
Phil will carry a pack of cigars,
But Benny is the only one with a lighter.
Phil like to write stories.
Benny's only artistic passion involves "culinary art".

Like to mess with people for no distinguishable reason.

Equipment

Carry cell phones, though they never seem to get any calls. Each one carries a Desert Eagle .50, Phil's is gold-plated, Benny's is chrome.

History

Phil and Benny come a from a broken home, as their parents divorced when they were both young, their mother leaving them with their father, who wound up taking his own life due to a drug addiction that he couldn't shake. Raised in an orphanage and fostered out to various people, over several years, they quickly learned how to hustle in the street, gaining many shiftly skill along the way. As teenagers, they were involved in several local gangs, always working together as "The Twins" Together, they were unstoppable, seeming to work on the same page with little to no communication. As they grew up and managed to finish school, Phil took a liking to the Police Academy, while Benny joined the Army, leaving the two brothers to go their sepperate ways, for a time. Even alone, they would serve with distinguishment, earning several honors, each, and becoming local heroes, in their own right. When reunited, the brothers carried on as though nothing had ever happened, retireing from their prospective positions to become mercenaries, traveling all over the multiverse so that they could work together on every mission and assignment, which were numerous. They are reknowned as "The Twins" and are known, equally, for both their prowess and their quirky methods.

So begins...

The Twins, Phil and Benny walk into Gambit's, together, at first unable to fit through the door side by side, exchanging glances before Phil steps forwards to enter, first, Benny following suit, shortly after. Their suits are clean and pressed, their sunglasses on their faces as they gaze around the empty room. They exchange brief glances, again, before walking, in unison, towards the back corner of the room, where a booth awaits them. They sit with their backs against the wall, view of the room unobscured as they wait patiently for the new day to begin.

Their suits are clean and pressed, their sunglasses on their faces as they gaze around the room, taking note of each individual present. Some soldiers. A bum, a young-looking man and various others. None of them seemed at all interesting. They exchange brief glances, again, before walking, in unison, towards the back corner of the room, where a booth awaits them. They sit with their backs against the wall, view of the room unobscured as they wait patiently for something exciting to transpire..

The Twins, Phil and Benny would be the first to react, it would seem, drawing, from somewhere within their suit jackets, a pair of Desert Eagles, one gold-plated, while the other was chrome with a black grip, obviously meant to represent silver. As one, Benny and Phil rise from their seats, pistols leveling, steadily, onto the first few aliens before pulling the triggers, simultaineously, not giving the little buggers even a moment to gain their bearing before unleashing a salvo of .50 bullets towards them. The effect, if they were successful, would be to tear through their armor and hit as many vital organs as possible. Being that their magazines held only seven rounds, each, they would use no more than two rounds per body, each man putting two bullets in the chest before changing targets.

Benny, being the stronger of the two, crouches down to grasp the table in the center of the booth by it's center beam and lift it before the pair as they take a few steps forward. The plasma fired from the aliens splashes against the opposite side, quickly eating through the wooden table, but little more. The thing about plasma was that, even though it could eat through virtually anything, it lacked a certain.. oomph. Phil helps to support the table with one hand as he crouches to bring his Deagle to bear on the clostest Catkin, pumping two more rounds into the weak join of it's dominant leg. Benny, meanwhile takes his gun hand, as the table is easier to hold up with Phil's help, and centers it on the pit of the second Catkin's elbow, fireing two rounds of his own, into the weaker section. If successfull, the first would be crippled, while the second would be disarmed.

The Twins, Phil and Benny drop the heavy table ontp the floor, producing a loud, resounding Whump! as it connects with the wooden floorboards, cracking it in some places. Phil manages to leap to the left, out of the line of fire as he lands on his stomache to crawl to the nearest table, overturning it to provide more cover for him. Benny leaps to his right, closer to the second alien with the wounded arm as he ducks beneath it's line of sight, bringing his pistol down to fire two additional rounds into it's right knee joint. Should he be successful, he would also attempt a thrust kick directly into the joint, in order to finish the disconnect and, hopefully, snap the tendon.

Phil looks up in time to see the third Catkin approach, rolling to the side in order to avoid the boot. On his back, and with the alien bending down with fist outstreched, Phil raises his pistol to loose his final three rounds directly towards the Catkin's head, seeing as joint attacks had little effect. He would utilize any weaknesses he saw in it's armor, eyes, mouth and/or throat, which would all be easy targets at such close proximity, in an attempt to end this alien's life, swiftly and finally. Benny, meanwhile, was having troubles. He had managed to down the second alien without use of the thrust kick, but he had over-extended himself to set it up. Now, the Catkin was reaching for him, and he was off ballance. With no other alternatives, he attempts to redirect the kick towards the alien's outstreched arm, which would, hopefully, buy him enough time to plan out his next move.

Benny yelps as the hand clamps down on his leg. He pulls with all of his might as he fires the final bullet into the hand, near the wrist as he attempts to get free. Phil sighs softly at his succes as he triggers the magazine release button, causing the empty clip to slide from it's sheath and clatter to the floor as he slams a fresh, full mag home. He rises to his feet just in time to see Benny get himself captured, and cocks the barrel of his Deagle back to bring a new round into the chamber as he takes careful aim. Currently, a clean headshot would be a lucky glance, at best, so he, instead, goes for the section near the hip, which was, usually, weakly armored to allow for flexibility. Should this section be armored, he would, instead, go for the the Catkin's armpit, which would, most deffinitely, be exposed or covered by only light armor.

Benny takes this opportunity to duck around the Catkin near to him as it turns it's attention to Phil. He dives behind the table Phil overturned and takes cover. Phil watches as Benny races towards him and fires another shot towards the gaping mouth of the alien as it roars, attempting to penetrate the soft flesh within for a kill shot. Whether or not this was successful didn't matter as Benny reaches his side of the overturned table, and Phil ducks down next to him just as the new arrivals enter the back door, fireing on the first group of aliens.
Phil sighs "Just -why- did we get involved, again?"
"I figured -you would know!"
"Me!? -You're- the one who always comes up with the plan!"
"Well, I wasn't the only one to pull his gun, now, was I? Besides, they were fireing on innocents. It couldn't be helped."
"YES, IT COULD HAVE! BY SOMEONE ELSE!"
"DON'T RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME!"

The Twins, Phil and Benny enter the bar, Phil entering first, with Benny following shortly behind, having learned that the doorframe was too narrow to fit the two of them, together. As they stand just within the room, they turn their heads towards Claw and Autumm. Was that some kind of.. ritual? The woman was screaming, and the other man was holding her close to him. Why couldn't they come to Gambit's when the weirdo's weren't around. Phil and Benny exchange glances. Ironic.

The Twins, Phil and Benny enter the bar, Phil walking through the door with Benny following closely behind. They stop just within the room, however, as they come upon the oddly gruesome scene being played out. A suicidal soldier ordering a subordinate to off him? No, wait.. that didn't seem quite right. Together, The Twins make their way over to the two. Phil speaks first. "Just what is going on, here..? Out of curiosity?" He sita in a nearby chair, backwards, facing towards the two. Benny quickly chimes in, "Isn't it obvious? Big man 'can't take it anymore' and wants to off himself, cause he's too big of a puss to face his problems." before following Phil's example and sitting in a chair, backwards, facing the same direction.

Phil looks between Merceigh and Straken for a moment before standing. "These seem more the military type, Benny. I'll leave this to you while I get us some drinks. I'll buy this time." And, with that, he walks off towards the bar to order their usual: a strong whiskey. Benny shakes his head. "You're only buying because you have my wallet, ya prick.." He turns his attentions back to the pair as Straken addresses them. "Well, it's quite tempting, but I don't usualy do assisted suicides.. I could be convinced, I suppose." He grins, slightly.

Benny had only risen to Specialist during his short stint in the Army, making Merceigh a superior, though he was not, necesarily obligated to follow her orders.

Benny shrugs. "Not to most. But, hey, we've all got issues." He eyes Straken and his partially destroyed bionic components. "Some of us, moreso than others."
