Name: Thanos Greeley

Alias: The Vengeant

Age: Thirty-three

Sex: Male

Race: Human

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 180lbs. (naked)

Hair: Black

Eyes: Brown

Physical: Thanos is a muscular man, having spent a great deal of his life as a championship boxer, going against even the great Ashton Stern himself, and then as a mercenary. He stands tall, with broad shoulders and straight back. His stature is quite imposing, especially when fully geared up in his combat attire. His neck muscles are particularly outstanding, allowing him to tolerate great stress in those regions, such as whiplash, without hindering him.

Personality

Thanos is a rugged man, withdrawn and not very open with his emotions, which there are an internal abundance of. He mostly keeps to himself, speaking only when necessary. Vicious is his wrath, and quickly does his anger come. Thanos rarely smiles out of happiness, but usually from the sadistic pleasure he finds in the suffering of criminals and the wicked. Blunt and much to the point, Thanos doesn't mince words in the rare moments he does speak. A plain mannerism that shielded a complex array of emotional turmoil, Thanos is a dangerous individual; a nuclear explosion bottled into a human frame.

Skills & Equipment

Superior Physicality - Thanos' time as a boxer and a mercenary has allowed him to acquire supreme physical condition. He is at the peak of human physical condition, attaining awesome physical prowess in strength, agility, and endurance.

Martial Arts - Thanos is a championship boxer, and his career as a mercenary instilled in him mastery of Krav Maga, Tae Kwon Do, and CQB.

Hunting & Tracking - Thanos learned how to hunt and track growing up. These skills were further explored for the hunting and tracking of human beings and alien races during his career as a merc.

Interrogation - The art of forced persuasion. Thanos is adept at interrogation techniques, and often employs these tricks to learn what he needs to advance his interests.

Cervantes .33 Pistol - A semi-automatic pistol that fires super-heated caseless .33 ammunition.

Arc-Tec Concussive Shotgun - A shotgun that emits a powerful kinetic burst, causing internal damage to those affected. Charge time 5 secs between shots. Death by this weapon does not usually come easy. Uses energy tubes for ammunition.

Seras Mk. IV Pulse Rifle - A pulse rifle that fires super-heated rounds. Armor-piercing and fully-automatic.

Aztram Pulse Grenades - Concussive grenades that emit an electrical field, effectively electrocuting everything within the 15 meter blast radius.

Warvold Technologies Datapad - A versatile handheld device that serves as a GPS, tracking device, communicator, distress beacon, scanner, etc. Its uses are seemingly endless, and have often times proven more useful than any gun.

Carbon Fiber Armor - Armor pieces crafted from sturdy triple-weave carbon fiber.

Disclaimer: Thanos' equipment comes on an as-needed basis. The items listed do not necessarily reflect the maximum limit to his vast arsenal.

History

Thanos has experienced an interesting career path in his days. In his younger years, he was a promising boxer, facing off against the great Ashton Stern and losing. Admitting defeat and deciding professional boxing wasn't for him, he enlisted with the Forsworn Mercenaries, acquiring a taste for combat. However, during a black operation on the planet Marva, his team met an unexpected and grim fate at the hands of his partner, Jax, who had been aiding the very government they had been hired to topple, feeding them information about their clients. Met by a firing squad, Thanos and his team were gunned down and left for dead. Emerging from the blood-stained field alive but in critical condition, he was able to find aid and was nursed back to health. Upon recovery, he set out to find Jax, eventually coming face to face with his former ally on the planet Hamon. There, he confronted Jax, eventually putting a bullet between the traitor's eyes. Thanos then set a course for Terra, settling in Wing City and establishing himself as a vigilante. He wields a large arsenal and an unyielding sense of personal justice, employing his skills and methods to eradicate all forms of crime and evil.

"Look man, I'm sorry! I-I-I didn't mean to cut her! I swear! C'mon man don't! Do-" BAM!

Thanos watched the mugger's face as it left the back of his head. The smoke rose from the end of his pistol, billowing like a phantom in the late night air. The shithead was a junkie crook, stabbed a woman to death an hour ago, all for what little cash she had in her purse. A bullet to the face hardly seemed fair to her memory.

Holstering his gun, Thanos walked away from the scene before the attention that would inevitably be drawn to it fell upon him. Executing a begging man on his knees never looked good in any light, no matter how you explained it. Instead, he strode away, lighting a cigarette and taking a long drag. He needed to get back to his hideout before too long. Sauntering down the alleyway, he kept his eyes open for anything that warranted his attention.

He'd hate to have to waste another bullet.

It was hard to say just what drove Patchi to follow the sound of a bullet. Maybe it was the days he spent as a punk, knowing that it could just be some kid gone astray. Maybe it was the days when he was a solider when such a thing had him on high alert. Or maybe it was just because he was a good person and wanted to stop trouble.

He stood out in a crowd despite being dressed mostly in black and white. His blond hair was hidden behind a black bandana and he clearly wore a black bikers vest over the top of a white t-shirt. His pants were black, he was wearing his big ol' army boots and he had a pair of fingerless black gloves on. But there were two reasons he stood out. Sunglasses at night, and two pistols on his belt.

As he approached the alley he spotted Thanos, and knew immediately better than to trust someone walking away. The dude might have not been involved at all, but in passing he decided to raise a hand in front of the mans chest. "Hey," he said, looking past him, sunglasses providing a list of information on the surrounding area (most notably for power levels), "Did you hear that gunshot just now?" By no means a small man physically, Patchi 'Boy' did not look like someone to cross.

Hoping to ditch the scene as quickly as possible, Thanos was instead held up by a rather rugged looking guy. He was stout, dressed like some sort of biker, wearing sunglasses at night. Thanos thought he was weird. He spoke though: "Hey, did you hear that gunshot just now?" he inquired.

Great, a snooper. Just what he needed. It wasn't enough that he had to stay under the respective radars of the WCPD and the Invictus, but now he was falling under the inquiry of citizens as well. However, he decided to brush the guy off as quicky as possible.

"Nope," he lied plainly, making his way past the guy. He had a feeling this wouldn't be the end of it.

"Like fuck you didn't," he said, left hand moving for a pistol, but his eyes hadn't moved to address the guy yet. Or, well, his head. Seeing his eyes was a bit hard. "Don't be an asshole," Patchi continued, "I'm gonna go scope it out, just stand a few steps behind me and call the cops. Someone could be seriously hurt." If left uninterrupted, or if Thanos didn't do anything suspicious, he would pull out his pistol and check a bullet was chambered, then flick the safety off.

Business time, not that he planned to shoot.

Thanos sighed heavily. 'What a fuckin' boy scout,' he thought. He decided to play along, following behind the guy. They strode down the alley. Thanos removed his datapad from his chest belt, faking a call to the police. "We heard gunshots in the alley by Gambit's. We may need a unit over here." He replaced the datapad, following the strange man further.

Eventually they came upon the body of the druggie Thanos had ghosted mere moments before. It was funny to look at, now that his slumping position had settled. It was like some pathetic gory ragdoll that had been discarded by a petulant child. He had to fight hard to stifle a chuckle.

"Alright, so, we got a body. What now?" He really wanted to get out of there, back to his hideout. Back to his plans. However, he'd have to put those on hold for now, and humor the do-gooder before him.

Patchi scoped out the situation pistol first, pointing it around the corner rather military-like until he was confident the place was scoped out. "Sheet," he said looking at the body with a shake of his head, putting the safety back on his pistol and holstering it. "Ain't nobody who deserves this." He let out a sigh. "Poor bastard. How long did the cops say they'd be?" he asked with a jerk of his head nodding towards Thanos.

A hand was offered out to shake. "M' Patchi by the way."

He kept his gaze on the body while the other guy scoped out the area. Once he was satisfied, he too turned his attention to the body. "Sheet," he said, shaking his head, "Ain't nobody who deserves this. Poor bastard." Thanos struggled not to laugh. 'What he got was too good if you ask me,' he thought. He kept his eyes on the body. "How long did the cops say they'd be?" he asked. Thanos was silent for a minute, as if recalling the conversation. It was an act of course.

"They didn't," he said. Another few moments spent examining the body, waiting around. Suddenly, the guy offered his hand to shake. "M' Patchi by the way," he said. Thanos shook his hand out of custom, not much enjoying the company. "Good to meet ya," he said, also out of custom.

He gave a shake of his head again, examining the body. "You didn't see anything, did you? I mean, it's cool, the shooters definitely gone now, but anything that can help the cops, y'know?" He gave a shrug. Looked like he was gonna just have to wait until the cops got there. "What'd you say your name was?"

Patchi was full of questions tonight. "You didn't see anything did you? I mean, it's cool, the shooter's definitely gone now, but anything that can help the cops, y'know?" Thanos regarded the statement in silence, wishing the guy would give up playing hero. A part of him wanted to come out and say that he did it. Of course, that part was very small and impractical in this situation. "Nope, didn't see anything."

Patchi resigned to examine the body more. Thanos just stood there, contemplating putting a bullet in Patchi's head as well, just so he could go about his night without disturbance. He actually felt his hand reach for his gun. "What'd you say your name was?" Patchi asked suddenly.

Thanos eased his hand back down. "I didn't," he stated.

Patchi rolled his eyes behind his sunglasses. "You sure? Cause you seem like you're trying to avoid this punk in general. I mean, you 'didn't' hear a gun shot around the corner from you and now you 'didn't' see anything? Lemme guess, you 'don't' have a gun either? Cause that's the next thing I'm gonna god damn ask." He folded his arms in front of his chest and gave him a disapproving look.

Thanos seemed to have struck a nerve. However, he decided to go along with Patchi's mood. "Sure I got a gun," he said, unholstering his Cervantes .33 from his torso. "Right here." It was a hefty gun, and reliable. It fired caseless rounds, so Patchi wouldn't find a shell if he looked for one.

"It would seem to me that this is just another axed junkie that got what was coming to him." He really wanted to get back to his hideout. He had work to do; cleaning up the streets would never be fully accomplished, but the more he could do to minimize the criminal element that roamed the streets, he felt he was doing something worthwhile.

"Did you even call the cops?" Patchi asked, apparently unconcerned that the guy pulled a gun and reaching for his phone. He was already going to dial the emergency number, this time to get this guy arrested. "Fuck it, I don't need your name, they'll give it to me if its important." He seemed almost indifferent now that the threat had been all assessed and sorted. Pretty frigging cocky, but then... It was Patchi.

Thanos decided it was time to bounce at this point. "Fuck it, I don't need your name, they'll give it to me if its important." Patchi produced his phone, dialing for the police. "They won't know, and they never will." He turned to walk away, dropping behind him a small metal canister that started to emanate a series of sharp beeping noises.

It was a merely a flash bang, and he had dropped it far enough away where it wouldn't cause any damage. Thanos placed in his earplugs, and started to walk away, feeling the concussion as the flash bang erupted. He picked up his pace, trying to put as much distance between himself and the alleyway -and Patchi- as he could.

"It'll wear off, don't worry," he said to no one in particular. Blending in with the dark, he made his way back to his hideout.

He hovered over a map set out on his desk, illuminated by a lamp light. It was a map of Wing City proper, with red circles around the areas of the city with the highest criminal activity. Days spent staking out the city led him to many of the criminal organizations that this place harbored. That junkie he had axed earlier was below small fry status, as there were bigger players behind the scenes in Wing City.

His police scanner picked up on a story involving an Aschen Reverence laying down heavy fire on Main Street; Ha'la'tha work. Metahumans got involved in the conflict, Superman among them. The Irish had also been there, and the cops somehow got Liam Casey into custody. 'Damn shame, too,' Thanos had thought. 'I would have loved to have ghosted that motherfucker.' He mapped out his patrol for the next day. Until then, he needed rest.

He hadn't slept in three days.

Two average looking cars parked outside a nondesicipt antique shop on one of the less traveled streets of wing city. A few rough looking men and a single armored woman exited the vehicles and walked towards the shop. A man walking by was gaping as he saw the armed group walking towards the shop but before he could turn to run one of the thugs shot him with a pistol. This was suppose to be a quite job but the group were confident that they could be in and out of the store before the police arrived.

Upon entering the store one of the four armed men fired a shot into the air. "Al'ight everybody down! No one make any he'roic moves and we will be out of your hair in a few moments al'ight?" The man barked as the others began to rummage around the shop front the armored woman waved her hand over a glass case as if looking for something.

On patrol, Thanos found himself in one of the more eccentric parts of town. As if part of some cruel joke, someone decided to name this part of the city "Hipsterville". The name didn't even begin to make sense; however, he was here in hopes that he would catch someone -or a group of someones- that he would have to put an end to.

Walking down the sidewalk, wearing a medium length black coat, he kept his eyes and ears peeled for any signs of trouble. So far the night had been relatively quiet, which was surprising for Wing City. However, as if in answer to this thought, there came the sound of gunfire. He looked up, spotting a group of thugs waking past a dead body into a nearby antique shop across the street.

That was his cue.

He picked up the pace, walking faster, the shop edging closer and closer as he advanced. Eventually, he stepped up to the sidewalk just outside the shop, looking in from where he was. It was a small group; a few guys and a woman who appeared to be examining the merchandise in the shop. She didn't seem interesting in raiding the shop for everything. On the contrary, she gave off the vibe of some sort of art hunter, scouring the little store for a specific piece.

Thanos looked over at the dead man on the ground, who was laying in a pool of his own blood. A gunshot wound to the chest had put him down. His hardened gaze returned to the intruders. He contemplated how he was going to take them out, running over it in his head to make sure his plan was precise.

Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside.

Isra continued to search for something as she felt out through the force soon her eyes leveled on a black pyramid. breaking the glass with a small force burst she reached in with her gloved hand and grabbed the object and pocketed it then she continued to look around the store there was something else here that was calling her one more object.

As Thanos walked into the store Isra didn't even bother looking up. One of the thugs by the door raised a pistol to him. "Ey you get down on the ground." Another stated.

This was a familiar situation: a gun in his face and someone commanding him to put himself in a position that would render him defenseless. Unfortunately for them, Thanos wasn't didn't heed orders well. Immediately, he had gripped the arm of the thug with the gun, pulling it back so that the thug's own pistol was in his face. Helping him pull the trigger, Thanos relieved the thug of his pained arm by giving him death. As the criminal's face exploded from the back of his head, he turned his attention to the remaining group.

Four more left, and they were all ready to kill him at this point. He moved quickly, assessing the closest henchman to his left. As he readied his assault rifle, Thanos was able to grip the barrel in his left hand, pulling it up and away from him. Simultaneously, he slammed his right elbow into the guy's face, breaking his nose and causing a gush of blood to erupt. Thanos was then able to drive a knee into his gut, retrieving the gun and using the butt of it the club the thug in the face, twisting his neck violently and effectively ending him.

Rifle in hand, he was able to gun the next one down, as the other took cover. Thanos emptied the clip, tossing the gun aside and walking toward one of the cowering thugs with his Cervantes .33 in hand. The robber popped up and was instantly put down with three bullets in his chest. The remaining thug didn't bother popping back up. He was nervous, ducked down and looking toward the ground. He was apparently a rookie, and had never dealt with someone like Thanos. Unlucky for him, Thanos wasn't the merciful type, and he was summarily dispatched with a bullet to the back of the head.

Thanos looked around: minimal damage, five dead thugs, with just one more intruder left; the woman standing across from him. He scowled, his hardened gaze piercing into her own. "Your move, lady," he said.

Isra didn't bother looking up as her men died nor did she bother saving them. In her eyes they were all failures anyways each and everyone of the thugs. But they had served their purpose she could handle herself. But she wanted to find what she was looking for first.

"I'm not going to kill anyone here I just want a bracelet that belongs to my people then I will be out of your hair. You killed my men if you let me go I'll spare you." Isra said as she grabbed a box and placed it upon her belt. She had the artifacts she needed and honestly she could care less if this man lived or died but if he refused she wouldn't hesitate to attack.

Thanos scoffed, eyeballing the strange woman. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that either. Stealing is stealing, I don't care what the reason." His hand tightened around the grip of his pistol, fully prepared to face her down. The room was quiet, the still calm of a showdown pervading through the air.

"You're not leaving with anything in this room that don't belong to you. Drop it!" With that, he raised his gun, pointing it straight at her head, mere feet away. "I can't miss from this range. Give it up."

Isra smiled from behind her mask. "Your in over your head Sweety, This isn't going to go your way now step aside before I have to make you." Isra said. She looked around the room and slowly stepped forward as she surveyed the dead bodies the failure that they had caused her. She felt a pang of rage and let it fuel her. Thanos if he had any type of sixth sense might begin to feel her aura of rage.

From her back she drew her vibrosword. "I know you can't miss, but seriously Last chance step out of the way before I make you."

She made her decision. Drawing a blade from behind her, she slowly advanced. Thanos smiled, mentally stating that she had made the wrong choice....

About him, the items in the building began to shake, and he could feel the faint rumble beneath his feet. She seemed to know the cause of this; in fact, she seemed to be the origin. She was coming closer, and he had to make a decision. He wasn't one to run, so he did the only thing he could think of.

BAM BAM BAM!

Three shots in succession, aimed straight for her face. Time seemed to slow in this moment, as he awaited the bullets to find their mark, to destroy this woman and rid him, and the world, of her.

Isra had begun her advance and then Thanos fired, as the first shot was fired she let out a roar and sent a wave of force energy to block the bullets though the first one grazed her face mask and a trickle of blood could be seen hardly a mortal wound but a wound enough the other two shots would be deflected by the small wave not enough to hit Vengeant but enough to knock the bullets off their course.

Leaping into the air Isra reached around and grabbed her lightsaber activating it and landing in front of The Vengeant. She made a move to block his gun with her vibroblade and kept her saber hand ready.

"I warned you." She said in a provocative tone.

'Shit; a Force user,' he thought. She had made light work of his bullets, easily evading their deadly projection. His pistol would be useless in this case, and he couldn't very well throw a pulse grenade to fry her. Instead, he holstered his pistol, backing away as she produced her lightsaber, powering up the blade and sauntering forward, her eyes brimming with malicious intent.

Reaching behind him, he grasped the grip of his shotgun. Not, this particular weapon had a special property: rather than firing conventional ammunition, such as buckshot or slugs, it emitted a high concussive force that was made to simultaneously knock back and rupture the internal systems of its target.

With a smirk, Thanos squeezed the trigger.

"Goodnight."

Isra looked at the weapon as the man backed away she expected more slugs but instead she was hit with the force of the weapon her suit took a good portion as she was flung across the room and she tried to use the force to soften the effect but he hit the ground with an audible thud. Isra's suit was locked up tight with only enough air for maybe 30 minutes if that. Though to the outside she looked unconscious or dead.

She tried to hold onto her rage and stay awake but she felt her consciousness slipping from her as she slowly began to pass out. She knew she had failed, Rolak wouldn't save her even if she survived no she did have one hope but she Doubted Thai would arrive in time they weren't suppose to meet for another 20 minutes at the Rendezvous.
