Thistle Erutin looked around, examining the different vehicles critically and looking up the tall buildings. On Dev Eru, everything went out, rather than up, so the height at was bit of a shocker to her. "How do they fly, if they've got building in the way! What a weird place. I don't see what Mum sees in it." she said and looked around critically. Nothing too important to her, nothing at all.

"Psh! Don't be mean to me Steel. I'm your only Light, you know." She said and looked up, admiring the buildings. "Still, I bet they fit way more people into less space. Think we could convince Mum and Dad?" Thistle asked as she walked down the street, not paying an ounce of attention, her eyes on the buildings. It's nto like she could get into trouble with Steel so close.

Well. She couldn't get into too much trouble.

Mentally, Steel smirked, his humor was rather dry, the tone of his voice, to the few who heard it, rarely changing. Often he ran into the issue of people mistaking his occasional joke or jab as an actual insult, something that Thistle, who was probably around when it happened, was likely to correct. "It is a... logical idea." He was, understandably, more concerned with the walk ahead, the streets being surprisingly uncrowded, looking to every other pedestrian they crossed paths with. It was probably an odd thing to do, but Steel was a bit more preoccupied with matters other than blending in, for the moment. "You were always better at talking."

"Logic, Schmogic." She said and waved her hand. "And that's only because you were too busy glaring at anyone who came within six feet of me." Over protective berk. Thistle grinned back at him and ran knee first into a fire hydrant. With a yelp, she moved back quickly, eyed on the bright red weapon. "What is that!" She demanded, horrified. "It's some kind of weaspon?"

"I'll say! Leaving weapons lying about like that! Why just about anyone could set it off." She didn't approve. "Think it's safe to touch?" she asked, reaching around him to touched a apart of it, though careful to be well away from the bits that were very obviously buttons of some sort.

She went slow enough that Steel could easily stop her, knowing perfectly well he'd kick up a fuss if she wasn't cautious. Darks were silly that way. It hadn't gone off when she ran into it, after all.

"I don't know. It's cool to the touch though. Maybe mother will know." she said and turned away to explore further. Hm. She glanced at the fire hydrant suspiciously and continued on, not expecting her twin to talk at all really. Not that it would stop her from talking at him.

"Wonder why they build so big. weird that they wouldn't fall over. And look! There's another red thing. How odd! I guess it's a good thing that they've got them, isn't it? I mean, it much make their city pretty safe from rebel attacks. Do Terrans have rebels? I think they jsut have to deal with crazy people."

Thistle rolled her eyes and bumped into him playfully with her shoulder. "Yeah, yeah. so. this is as close as Mom will let use get to your dream planet right now. Whatcha think?" she asked with a grin. He may be the one who had to d the whole colonist school schtick, but she wouldn't be too far away from him. After all, he was her twin."

Thistle was poking about, trying to find out what was so spectacular about Wing City. So far she had found very little to reccommend her, to be honest, but the gardens seemed nice enough, and it was almost like being back at the gardens on Dev Eru.

The young woman was sitting on a bench, every inch sunning herself as she contemplated this odd town.

Thistle Erutin watched this odd ritual in no small confusion. What was she doing? She was acting like one of the street kids back home. It was rather sad, wasn't it? Thistle gave her a smile, the same gentle smile her mother had, and hoped she didn't scare her away. Street kids needed as much food as they could get.

This was the one place Mother had absolutely, totally, and completely forbidden her from ever going. "Wild." She whispered as she looked it over, then walked all the way in. She had attempted to loose her twin on the way, but the success of that wasn't going to be great, she was sure. Still, it was possible that maybe he wouldn't drag her out right away.

Thistle hurried to buy a drink. "Wow! Weird interface. Can't read a-" Ah, there. A marking, small, seemingly part of the screen or the border. She pressed it and the entire menu translated to her own tongue. "Double wicked!"

Thistle hadn't even noticed. she was too busy perusing the drinks. "Wicked!! They have Erutin Sunrises here? Mother never lets me have those." For good reasons. It was a potent enough alcoholic drink...with chemical in it specifically to prevent her from shifting her liver to be better able to handle the alcohol. When an Erutin wanted drunk, anything with Sun in the name generally had the chemicals in it.

All too happily, Thistle ordered the drink. "This is great."

A lead balloon was being nice about it. She swiveled around on the spinning chair with a laugh of fun and then took a sip of the just ordered drink. She pulled back and made a face of sheer disgust. "Ugh! Yuck! maybe it tastes better if you have more?" She asked and shook her head. She'd just have to try it.

Thistle put it down and pushed it away and turned to face her twin, startled. "Steel! You found me! How'd you find me? I thought I lost you on Main Street." She said and then winced at that. Oops. "Not that I would ever purposefully try to lose the bestest twin in the whole wide multiverse!" She said and gave him a bright smile.

"And yeah. Did you see the name of this place. Mother totally can't find out, please Steel?" She put on her best beggign face.

"You are. You're the absolute bestest ever." She said and hugged him happily. "I'm the luckiest light out there to have such an amazing twin." She praised happily. "And those Sun drink taste nasty by the way. Think I should have something else?" Okay, when she wanted to get away with things, yes she avoided him. But otherwise, she took his word as gold.

After all, Steel was always there for her, even when she was doing things that could get both of them in serious trouble.

Thistle took his in turn and smiled at her twin happily. "Do you like it? I think it tastes odd, but it may just not be to my tastes." She admitted and grinned. "I don't see why Mother is so against this place. It's pretty empty, and very quiet. I mean, yeah they serve some strong drinks, but it is a bar." Mother was just a worrywart.

Thistle stared at them wide-eyed. She shrank closer to her brother, frightened at the sight of then. Mother didn't let soldiers other than the royal guard to come near them. And then the woman grabbed a knife and held it up and Thistle made a small noise of distress, hiding her face against her twin. She took a few deep breathes, steeling herself.

"Why are there soldiers here?"

Thistle kept her twin between here and the woman. She wasn't too scared, in this place of safety, but not was worried for her twin. He wasn't a fighter, no. He simply wasn't. She and he both knew it. Instead, he was her brother, and he shouldn't have to deal with this. Maybe coming here had been a bad idea.

Thistle had been listening. And she frowned slightly, and didn't move back when he did. "Steel, I think I over reacted. She's not going to hurt us." She whispered to him and took a breath. "She said so. It's okay, I promise." She said and squeezed his hand.

"I think so too." She said, and then smiled slightly as she took her seat next to him. "But I think a Belkan would stay, don't you? And we're supposed to pretend when we can..." She said, pushing the button she knew would work. In truth, she knew very little about Belkans...but she knew how to push her brother's buttons.

She shrugged and smiled. "Maybe Mother will take us one day." She suggested and smiled at him hopefully. "She's friend with their emperor, and in that silly order, right? Maybe you can even meet him." Not likely. Wing tried to keep her children far from politics. Still, she had hope.

"...And....You know that the old Director of Travelers might take us, if we ask. She likes to tweak mom's nose."

She nodded at that. "Yeah. Only...Father doesn't want her near us." She said and smiled weakly. "He thinks she's a bad influence." Among other things. She had apparently taken them on a joy ride when they were little. Thistle couldn't recall, and doubted Steel could either. She shrugged. "She's supposed to live on Terra you know. And Mother did say exploring Terra was okay."

"You bet! and they can't get made if it's for school." Hopefully. After all, that just meant they were, well Steel was, taking it seriously. The girl bit her bottom lip and sighed. "But other than Terra, I don't know where to find her." she admitted. "I suppose we could ask our travelers..."

Thistle nodded firmly. "Alright." She summoned her traveler with a thought and smiled at Rose. "Rosey, I got a question..."

"Absolutely not, your mother would kill me." Was the immediate response, not even letting the girl finish. Rose knew her charge well.

Thistle pouted. "But Rose! You haven't even heard! I just want to see Miss Hope!" She said and gave her Traveler a hopeful look. "Surely that's not wrong." she pled and gave Rose puppy eyes.

"Forget Her Imperial Majesty. HIS Majesty would tear me in two. No." She said firmly. Thistle crossed her arms at that.

"I'll tell Mother you let me come to Gambit's Bar on Terra completely unsupervised and that you had to take me to a healer for a bullet wound."

Rose's eyes narrowed and she nodded slowly. "Fine. I'll take you."
