a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Lialore, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Image

Name: Triplicate
Age: 3 weeks
Race: Engineered Combat Clone
Model: 2.00, Version 2 of Comminus program
Gender: Female based
- Upgrade of Version 1

Appearance:
Barely visible to the human eye, is colourless and seen as transparent form when moving. Nothing marks her as individual or specially recognizable. Form of a slender, yet tall female.
No clothing is worn and no items are held on person, but too few features of the body are clearly visible for any "private parts" to be seen. (So their junk isn't flapping, <3 Nev)

Abilities and Characteristics:
- Superhuman speed, strength and reaction time.
- A swirling, near-transparent mist sometimes accompanies her body during fights or Superhuman feats, the mist being made up of millions of miniature Nanobots.
Nanobots that repair her body and "carry" her, sometimes allowing her to be able to "float", although only for short periods of time.
Short distance "teleportation", akin to various "Ninjutsu" techniques. If the "mist" is anywhere other than around her body, it is almost certainly for the Nanobots to prepare breaking her down into trillions of pieces, then take her to the location of the "other mist" and rebuild her, all within the blink of an eye.
Trained in practically all martial arts and fighting styles to a master-esque level.
Accessss to an extremely large database full of knowledge

As a clone she has no specific personality traits and only thinks about things related to mission.

So begins...

A silvery mist was creeping through the gap between the floor and the bottom of the enterence door, as it hit the warmth of the room the mist faded back into nothing.
The door to Gambits Bar swung open and Triplicate entered, at first look you would have seen nothing, just the open door, but on closer inspection and a lot of concentration the outlines of a woman’s figure was just about visible. The clone moved with extreme grace and her head turned to a corner of the bar, the light was different. She knew straight away that she had found him after a few days of searching she had finally managed to find him.
“Version 1, Duplicate” Triplicate said in a dull tone with no expression and moved towards the corner of the room confidently, her footsteps making no sound, Triplicate knew how skilled she was and saw no need to be wary.

“You are not authorised to do anything.” Triplicate said, turning her head to search the bar, setting her eyes on the patrons one at a time before turning back to face Duplicate. She stared at him for a while, they were so much alike, and now she would have to drop the bombshell on him.

“I am here to inform you that an upgraded combat clone has been made. This clone is more powerful, smart and useful than… you” She told him bluntly. “The Comminus Program masters do not see you, Version 1, as the best way to move forwards, especially now that a more sophisticated clone has been created.” Triplicate explained quickly, knowing that Duplicate would understand what she was saying no matter how fast she talked, he was advanced, although not as advanced as her.

“I am Version 2, my name is Triplicate. I have been sent to inform you of the changes. In 2 weeks it is likely that you will be deactivated as a more reliable and productive clone has been made” Triplicate finished, her stance was exactly the same and she hadn’t moved an inch. She was listening out for any dangers as she talked.

“However” Triplicate said as he bumped into her, she slid away to the left and turned on the spot smoothly, her eyes settling back on him once she was a safe distance away. She was not sure if she should tell Duplicate this, but he looked rather saddened by the news he had just received. Whilst being tested once she had been created, Triplicate had overheard a lot of conversation, and she had heard her Masters mentioning something about Version 1. If he was deemed useful enough they could continue giving missions and seeing what would become of an aged clone, the longer lived clone the more personalised it became. Well, that was the knowledge she had gained by listening into their private conversations.

“I think that there is a way to prevent you from being deactivated.” Triplicate said, her Masters had not mentioned anything about not conversing with Duplicate. “Would you like to hear my idea?” She asked, her mind was much more advanced she could work out problems in a split seconds and this situation was a problem to be solved. She thought a little about what it would be like to be told you were useless, Triplicate couldn’t really think, she hardly felt anything… part of what made her so strong.

“You enjoyed working alone? Being the only one? Having no-one like yourself?” Triplicate asked in the same tone as always. She had enjoyed her missions so far and was happy to obey her Masters so far, she had not started to develop any kind of opinions but she was sure that she would about her Masters soon.

“I do have feelings, no matter how underdeveloped” Triplicate told him. The Masters had thought that feelings made a person stronger but they set the basics for Triplicate and she couldn’t be as individual as a Human, never. Her frame shuddered in and out of sight as she took a step forwards. “This is not a contest on who is better, and if it comes to a fight I shall win. Because I am… more skilled than you.”

“I am offering you advice.” She said slower, to make it more clear.

Triplicate wasn’t finding this as easy as she had thought and watched carefully as it seemed he had folded his arms. She itched to see what he was made of but decided against it, it would be foolish to destroy him before she even had the chance to help him.

“Okay, prove yourself” Triplicate said simply, it was an easy answer. “Prove that you are as good as me, complete harder missions. You have more experience than me, gained from living life. This is perhaps the only thing you have, that I do not.” She said nodding as she did. “You see? The Masters think that it is mostly just about combat skills, but I’ve heard some discussion the idea of clones becoming personalised. But they worry that we would rebel, become un-loyal.” To Triplicate this seemed unlikely, she had been made to do her Masters bidding, it seemed foolish to disobey her creators, without them, she would not be standing here.

“I doubt that they would be angry if what you did benefited them” Triplicate replied. She stared at the male clone and followed after him at a slow pace, always keeping a good distance from him.

“Sorry” Triplicate said, referring to his mission. Failing any mission would be devastating to her, although it had not happened yet. “However, you, are my mission today” She said walking up the street that led from Gambits and lifting her head to scan her surroundings, automatically checking for any danger.

“I know that” Triplicate said, after hearing what was planned for Duplicate she already figured out what was likely to happen to her. “I think that this life is not really worth living. We have no future apart from being killing machines. Even for me, it is hard to get my head around. So unnatural, yet I still want to please them. They have a hold on us, it is the way that we are made. Did they not think about the fact that they had made us so intelligent that we could work them out? Yes, we have our own will, to think.” She said, her eyes deep in thought as she strolled along at a pretty slow pace.

“I doubt you feel the same way as me, you have had longer to live” Triplicate told Duplicate glancing behind her to scan their surroundings once more. “What do you plan to do now?”

Triplicate stopped at the entrance to the alley, not wishing to put two walls either side of her. When listening carefully she could hear the motorway over the slight breeze. Carefully, Triplicate set her feet a shoulder-width apart and relaxed her arms by her side.

“I didn’t choose to be your ‘Replacement’. But, there was a replacement for a reason. What makes you think that you could kill me?” She asked, hardly visible in the certain light.

“Hm” Triplicate said as the rain began to fall from up above, she held out a hand and let the droplets fall into her palm. She watched him curiously then stiffened her stance as she heard his hand click.

“Your threatening to kill me, it would not be wise to enter a more secluded space with you in my company” She told him blandly, as if reading from a very boring novel. “Maybe that will be demanded of me in the future, but of course, If you were to prove you are worth being kept, that may not happen. That was my suggestion. Or, be destroyed by me”

Triplicate thought for a while, she couldn’t see any reason not to go with him. She had completed the only mission she had been assigned to complete today; telling Duplicate of the updated circumstances. After staring for a while she decided that it was unlikely that the other clone would attack and so she relaxed her muscles a little, bringing her feet back together and looking up at the sky before turning her attention back to Duplicate as he started walking.

She was able to keep up easily, but kept about two paces behind at all times. “Tell me” Triplicate began, her eyes constantly surveying the area. “What is your mission today?” She asked interestedly, Triplicate wanted to know what sort of missions Duplicate was being handed in comparison to her own challenges.

Triplicate followed. Her steps were even and light, she made no noise as she moved forwards. “Sounds interesting” She replied after him finishing. Moving quicker she began to pick up the pace, causing the raindrops to fall heavier and faster onto her skin.

Triplicate had heard of the facility, she had been sent to check the boundaries before. Raising her head she surveyed the stretch of motorway and tilted her head towards Duplicate “Let’s run” She said, nodding at the motorway which held some light traffic, but other than some weaving and jumping, it was perfect for a quick path to their destination.

Triplicate watched Duplicate for a few seconds, studying his movement before heading off at a sprint across the ledge above the motorway, overtaking cars as she did so. Triplicate spotted the other clone stood upon lorry and sped up a little until she was parallel to the large lorry. Then, with a quick leap she landed next to him, but in a split second she flipped off the opposite side and onto the road, rolling to take the force out of her fall.

Triplicate began to run amongst the cars, vans, trucks and motorbikes, she doubted anyone could see her, not just the fact that she was pretty much transparent… but Triplicates speed was a blur to the human eye.

Triplicate sensed the movement over her as Duplicate made his move to enter the sewers, she followed swiftly, bending her legs on impact as she landed with a splash too. Raising her head, she looked around at the dingy pipes and started walking forwards ahead of Duplicate.

“I’m usually good at this” She told him, her brain kicking into gear, a little up ahead she saw three openings, each leading different directions. “Find the right path” Triplicate repeated his words in a dull tone. Lifting her arm to point to the right opening she indicated that this was the path she thought would lead them there. “What do you think?”

Triplicate walked alongside Duplicate, she was very alert and watching the space ahead as they made their way forwards. “I am 3 weeks old” She replied turning to look at his outline. “No… Not yet. However, eventually, that is what will happen”

Triplicate narrowed her eyes and looked forwards again to check they were alone. “You are a year and a half years old, If I am correct” She said, kicking a stone and listening to it splash and crack down the tunnel.

“You think that they are going to understand that?” Triplicate asked with a frown. “To them it is just power, they can gain more by creating more” She said stopping in the middle of the tunnel and half turning on the spot.

She wondered to herself what impact the both of them could do to their Masters. Triplicate had admitted to herself that she was scared of them and their power. After raising her head a little and looking over at Duplicate she asked “What do you plan to do to finish it?”
