; The door turned open to reveal the Soviet officer stride through with his hands behind his back. Encumbered in the greatcoat standard to the Soviet Ground Army, the Oriyak Colonel strolled through the bar; activate breathing mask creating a low growl as the Colonel strode through the bar. With the name "ILEXIA, PREKSOV emblazoned on the pocket of the greatcoat, the Soviet Colonel was proceeded by three other Oriyak soldiers. The familiar armor hulk of Captain Kovodnik following behind shortly after.
"So this is the place the Coalites have focused their efforts previously -- you have been here before, Captain Kovodnik?"

Tyro and Jackal descended, ironically, from the station as the last of the marines filtered up to the station. Contained in their own specific gravity well, their cylinder of reversed speed was bringing them down toward the planet at a relatively speedier descent than the upcoming marines. Passing by the group rather quickly, the two Counter-Balance operatives were soon growing smaller as they neared the foothold of the star lift.
" ... How much you think they got rigged to blow this lift?" Jackal inquired, the duo of matte-black, armored operators remaining vigilant and immobile as they neared the foothold.
"Maybe ... five, six tonnes of A6?" Tyro replied, to which Jackal suddenly raised a hand and pointed his finger toward a passing ring of the gravity well.
"They're gonna' wait for us to get off it before they blow it up, right?"

Tyro and Jackal watched as the capsuleers zipped past them. That was when Jackal openly cursed under his breath. Shaking his head, Jackal's vision sharpened as he noticed the several blinking lights of the active A6 charges attached to the rings of the star lift. Once again, Jackal cursed and removed the Hybrid Rifle from his shoulder, and racked the bolt once. Tyro looked over his shoulder to the operator, but then seemed to catch the same blinking lights that zipped past them.
"Oh you gotta' be fucking kidding me ... " Tyro groaned through his facemask before Jackal looked out past the well of reversed air. Still roughly 11 kilometers above the planet, it would easily take them more than ten minutes to reach the surface of the planet.
" ... Damn ... Damn ... Damn!" Tyro began to curse under his breath as the pace of the beeping lights quickened, before Jackal simply pointed toward the edge of the gravity well and out into the atmosphere.
"You're shitting me, right? You're really shitting me." Tyro said before Jackal seemed to time his sprint, and simply charged off the edge of the gravity well, followed quickly by Tyro.
"Sonuvabiiiiiiiiiitch!"

Tyro and Jackal were both standing on the platform as the young Savage brother stepped between them. Encumbered in the armor, both of the soldiers were unidentifiable. Wielding the Mk.2 rifles, the Counter-Balance operators glanced to one another as Mason spoke. Receiving the nod from him, Tyro, on the left, was first to step forward and open the breach of the Hybrid rifle. The weapon was unloaded, thus the magnetic core was spared the discharge of releases upon reloading in combat. The weapon's internals were sleek and elegantly designed, utilizing a tightly packed accelerating coil combined with gravity housing and refraction to propel a multi-spectral slug at extreme velocities. Displaying the weapon to the crowd, Tyro simply leveled the weapon forward for better inspection.

Tyro and Jackal both closed the weapon systems and prepared to load them. Pulling back the handling cover that protected the internal accelerators and magnet cores that formed the mechanism, Tyro and Jackal retrieved a magazine from a rig at their side and prepared the weapon front the trigger guard of the weapon. Pulling a slide and releasing the cover, it loaded the first round into the weapon with a solid click before Tyro leveled the weapon to his shoulder to fire. The holographic sights made it much easier to aim, but the accuracy of the rifle was evident with the targets as they moved in a slight pattern. With two shots the Mark 2 placed a certain hit on two targets. As Jackal prepared his own rifle, Tyro released the weapon to unload the weapon, before the second Mark 2 began to fire, maintaining precise accuracy on the targets.

; Tyro ditched the MR-20 and gripped the dual Lashkavs as he leaped from the airjet, watching Riley fall to the deck before him and colliding with a loud thunk before rolling to his feet. As Tyro descended, he aimed the dual PDWs and unleashed a powerful burst of 10 millimeter slugs in the directions of the deck guns before he too collided with the starship, though he was forced to roll forward for a more considerable distance since he was encumbered in heavy armor plating.
"Shiiiit!"

Jackal followed quickly afterwards, landing with pinpoint precision near the second deck gun and quickly leveling the MSR-19 on the deck crew. Pumping the weapon once, he unleashed a barrage of buckshot and splattered the crew of the gun against the deck with two quick blasts from the shotgun, at such distances the kills were nearly guaranteed. Racking the pump again, he chambered the third round as he swung himself into a crouch.

; Tyro dropped the left Lashkav, the weapon dangled at his side by a three point sling as he quickly pushed the stock of the right into his shoulder. Moving at a crouch, he quickly rushed for the entrance bay as the woman disappeared into the depths of the starship. Cursing under his breath, he exchanged the magazine for a fresh one as he took to a kneel beside the door.
"Buttoned up tight -- the engines are running. Jackal, let's crack this nut wide open."

Jackal quickly prepared the breaching charge, a heavy cylinder of condensed A9 compound explosives. Tearing it from the mount on his back, he quickly attached the piece to the center of the doorway, while Director Riley rushed the woman pinned to the ground and kicked the weapon away after it had been fired, leveling the MR-18 down to the woman. The breaching charge was a focused, reverse-capped blast charge capable of breaching the deck plating of the hardest Coalition space stations. Anyone immediately in the hallway on the opposite side, and quite possibly the deck below that, would be killed from the severe pressurized blast.
"Riley, we've got the charge set."
"Fucking blow it!"

; Tryo made sure to roll the windows up of the Trender Segat, a large Scatterran 6-wheeler resembling a civilian APC that was barely able to contain itself in one parking spot. Looking out from behind the armored plate that served as the car's "windshield", Tyro felt his breath chilling as it met a particular device in the facemask before grabbing ahold of the door handle and pushed outward. Slipping the keys of the vehicle into a pocket on his chestplate, the Scatterran dropped down from the vehicle with a nimble footing even though weaponry hung from his back with a noticeable sound. The agent reached up to his chin and tugged the mask up over his cap, clicking his tongue and looking back through the cab of the Trender to the other Dark Operator.
"Anything?" He inquired slightly, looking in through the cab and at the ruggedized sitting on Jackal's lap.

"Nothing really, residuals in this area. The sniffer must be finding dead particulate." Jackal returned, closing the device with a quick hand and popping open the door. The agents both stood in front of the Trender with their arms crossed over their chest, Tyro examining the grill of the massive vehicle before turning back to the bar and pointing up at the patio. Jackal followed his indication, looking at a terminal-display on his forearm before speaking.
"It's been around here plenty, might have been Riley's ... or maybe one of 91's teams."

; Tyro adjusted the strap of the Lashkav dangling at his hip before making for the steps up to the bar. Jackal could be heard behind him, while Tyro was took a quick check of a watch before flicking his chin over his shoulder. Without the large facemask obscuring his visage, Tyro's perpetual grimace soured a bit.
"You ever think there's somethin' more about it? How the Apparatus manages to come out looking like the jackass while the Ministry -- a bunch a fuckin' kindergartners in black suits -- get the first bite at En-Fac?" Tyro remarked, stopping with a foot on the first step.
"It doesn't make sense at all; the former Director of Counter-Balance's Division One is running across international space with a briefcase full of bug. And the Cabinet? There's suppression of Counter-Balance down to the bones, I couldn't access our COMET after we landed planetside." Tyro said, taking a step off to the side of the patio as a man in a suit and tie descended. Jackal was immediately behind him with a hand on his shoulder, pushing him up at the door of Gambit's.

Jackal kept a grin hidden by the large facemask, a chuckle coming from him as he took the rest of the steps to the door and pried the door open with a gloved hand. He cocked his head back at the other agent, a hand pulling a credit card from his jacket before the lights of the bar pierced through the open doorway.
"You're overthinking this by waaaaaay too much. You're trying to put the blame at the top -- that's not how the government rolls buddy. The Coalition was founded by extremists, for extremists; we haven't seen the last of this silly shit. Riley, the Military Council, you're following scraps of food left by a bigger hog."

; Tryo was the first in the bar, having to take a few seconds to adjust to the lighting before taking a check back to the agent behind him. As the two entered, he caught the sight of a woman exiting just beside them, but Tyro took a momentary stop as deja vu struck him. Nodding up to the bar and shaking away his thoughts, Tyro began to tread across the bar with his hardened gait while neglecting a response to the banter Jackal was presenting him with. They were at the bar by the time Tyro began looking over the menu of the holo-display, his features softening momentarily as he pecked at a few orders from the display.
"How did you even get into Counter Balance?" He asked politely, crossing his arms on the countertop while looking over at the Scatterran with a legitimately curious eye.
"Seriously, if I look through your records, the only way you got in was by fucking someone's daughter." He remarked, which caused Jackal to flick a toothpick at him.

"Muthafuckah I didn't need any records. Fuckin' E88 Penal Corrections Initiative boy, saved my sorry ass from a firing line and an 8 foot ditch with nothing but a blanket with my name on it." He said, watching as a plate of fries was placed in front of him and he quickly picked at one.
"You ever been in a cell rig just outside the firing lines? Nasty shit you hear there." He said, stuffing a fry in his mouth before he heard a voice calling over from behind them. Jackal looked up over his shoulder as the Aschen approached, and then suddenly looked at his comrade.
"Oooy, puc no polar -- no, comprend." He remarked sadly, looking at Tyro before he spoke as well.
"Espot no puc? What do you want?" Tyro remarked coldly, turning in his seat and taking a glance over the man.

; Tyro narrowed his eyes a it at the Aschen, his shoulders turning downward a moment before the man began talking about the rumors that had been circulating across the Coalition for years now. His curiosity had become something he hardly ever embraced now, but the possibility of Aschen and other extra-nationals had brought the volatility of this situation beyond what most in the Apparatus would consider 'safe'.
"Why do I have the suspicion this story broke elsewhere ... " Tyro remarked, before laying his hands out in front of himself and looking back at Jackal.
"You're looking for a rogue Republican combatant, committing active treason, and a disenfranchised plug-in computer ... " He repeated the inquiry to himself, taking a note of Jackal's slight mannerisms and a faint laugh.
"Stamp is dead as far as I know, after we received a suppression briefing from the Cabinet, our Action Team was dissolved and the personnel were spread around. Stamp and a team went to Terra, we came around after them."

"And Ryan Riley -- you know he's a sociopath, right?" Jackal remarked, prying off his facemask and laying it by his side while inspecting the Aschen.
"I don't 'work' for anyone, not some little lapdog group like the TIB, or your fancy LDA." He said, looking up at the television screen where a news feed from a Coalition reporter was scrolling across the screen.
"But just because we're pawns doesn't mean we're blind ... You're looking for Riley because he's on Division 91's tail in the Local Region. We're here to make sure he at least makes it out of this alive. Regievko's not the head of the snake, as easy as it would be to make it like that ... "

; Tryo rubbed at the bridge of his nose a moment at the mention of New Pastor --- one of only hundreds of planets flooded with refugees. Peeking up at the television screen, images of the deposed Republican government were placed alongside photos of Regievko, shaking hands with a foreign dignitary and signing a piece of incumbent legislation before the camera panned to a city square full of Scatterrans hoisting signs and banners.
"The nature of an outbreak? Well, from what I've seen ... the Apparatus gets into a scuffle with unmarked, armed gunmen at a treatment facility. Five days go by, people start dying ... " He continued, trailing his finger through the air slightly.
"Then, those people start getting up ... wreck the place, maybe maul a few people."

Jackal was the next one to speak, although where Tyro's face was somber and almost regretful, Jackal appeared to be quite content with the pathogen and it's disastrous effects on the human body.
"You ever seen a man beat a guy to death with a coffee maker? By the time the Apparatus can get there in force, there's enough En-Fac to make a Belkan rally look like a picnic in a private park."

"No one has answers, just questions and corpses. As far as we can see, it's only a matter of time before 91 gets the ax, if they aren't working specifically for the Nationalists. Before then, either the Apparatus manages to catch the ball in the air, or else ... " Tyro said with a faint hope, while Jackal was continuing to pick at the fries on his plate.

"One thing, though, is that New Pastor is just one of many. Too far out for the Apparatus to respond to ... but one connection? Same blacked out combatants using the same tactics in the Outbreak Conflict."

; Tyro made a few brief remarks as the photo was passed between the two Scatterrans. Tyro made an indication to Riley with his finger, tapping at the photo several times until handing to Jackal. He looked over his shoulder a moment, his mind racing for a moment. It was common to not trust a word spoken by an Aschen, especially in conversation with a Scatterran. Their people were unfit to coexist.
"Cooperation? A snow ball's chance in Hell. I'm not lining myself up against a firing wall for treason because someone wants to change the name of the game and 'cooperate' ... but on the other hand," He ended, taking a look to Jackal as he was scarfing three fries into his mouth with his hand pointing a remote at the television.

"Our policy isn't to help foreigners, it's to help Scatterrans. We're deniable assets, notches in the bottom of the totem pole. We'll follow this trail across the Local Region, maybe find some DemNats with a suitcase full of Bug. Maybe we'll end up six feet under with a bullet in the head because we took your advice and tried to work together ... I'll take the primary if it means there's still a chance of capping Riley, Regievko, or any of those Demmies who like to believe they're saving all of humanity. I don't know, I really don't." Jackal remarked, chewing his food as he spoke.
"One thing I do know, is that there's a lot more than just ITDM running around throwing Iramorbus into the water supply. This is just the start of their little plan, just the start of their little play." He said, nodding at the photograph of Riley.
"There are trillions in the ITDM, though. It's the largest force in the Coalition ... the refuse of society, the bad apples of the basket."

; Tyro nodded; no one wanted to watch their society crumble, their homes turned to rubble and their worlds turned to horror. There was little three men from two completely different worlds could do in all honesty, but it wouldn't stop either of them from attempting their achievements. Tyro laced his hands in front of himself.
"We're supposed to stop the Bug too, but we're supposed to find out who's spreading it as well."He remarked, his grimace disappearing for a moment before he looked over at the Aschen.
"I can't promise that anything we do -- the good of the Coalition -- can stop a DM government. Riley, Hallorborn, Yarmo ... they were all casualties, all good men that were destroyed by their drive to do what's right for the government."

; Tryo took the disk in one hand and withdrew a rugged container from his pocket. Sliding the disk into the container, he looked over to Jackal; the pathogen was a virulent tool that had bitten the handlers just as many times as it had the innocent, they had personally thwarted an infection attempt. Unfortunately, before the crew could be captured, they had unintentionally exposed themselves and had succumb to the bacteria.
"Nothing looks the same after you set foot on a Bugged planet ... Can't go out at night, have to lock the doors with fortified metal." Tyro was mumbling slightly.

Jackal on the other hand, folded his arms behind his back and leaned away from the stool a moment at the mention of trust. Jackal was quick with his tongue, and let out a bit of a laugh at the Aschen.
"About fuck all I know is that Division 91 is the pinwheel for the whole operation, 91's been everywhere. The Corridor, the Calus ... " He said, looking over at Tyro a moment before nodding with him.
"I'll contact you, if we have anything to jump off of. I don't want to show up to a meet-n-greet and get a gun in my face."

; Tyro nodded over to the Aschen, it had been a while since he was stuck on the streets of New Harmony using shoes and telephone wire to orchestrate a dope deal. Tyro made a brief note of Drulovic, a woman who had earned quite a reputation in the Coalition.
" ... It's something that can be done. The Embassy will be a last resort, but I don't foresee any of 91 coming around ... until they're ready." Tyro remarked, looking back over his shoulder and at the door of the bar.

; Tyro had to steady himself while the Vedama transport bucked and rolled through the sky above the city. Closing his eyes tightly for a minute, he let his mind filter through the sounds of compressed air hissing in the troop bay, faint voices reciting a prayer from early childhood and the monotonous howl of the Vedama's three primary ion thrusters. In the night sky, the dropship was only identifiable by the menacing, deep howl it created above the rooftops as the ship passed over an unseen line of demarcation. On one side, the Coalition and Terran soldiers rallied around the last defensible location in Wing City, FOB Darkhammer, and on the other an Aschen invasion force hell bent on removing every vestige of Scaterran and Terran resistance from the planet.

"This is High Ride Actual, we're inbound for the snatch-up. Ground Team, lock up we've -- " Before Tyro was able to respond, the crew of twenty soldiers were jostled in their seats as vicious bolts of plasma began reaching into the sky at them. Looking through a transparent alloy, his sight was blinded for a second by the sheer brightness of the shot until the transport was rapidly descending towards a small complex. As they descended, however, the pilot managed one curse before an explosion tore apart the guard gates at the far end of the complex, the sight of Aschen personnel and vehicles occupying the road leading from the structures.

"Sonuvabitch! We're dropping in on a fucking gunfight!"

; Tyro was the first to unbuckle himself, quickly wrapping his hand around the foregard and pistol grip of the compact assault rifle. Hefting the weapon under his shoulder, the capsuleer bent his knees to maneuver more easily and quickly punched a hand into the drop-ramp control terminal. When the troop bay of the Vedama was exposed to the torrents of wind outside, his ears were nearly deafened from the exposure to the Vedama’s three heavy engines. As the dropship spun to avoid another shot of plasma, the rooftops of the complex were less than meters away before Tyro was joined by another soldier, garbed in a similar blacked-out attire and body armor.

“Get your fucking boots locked! I bet the Sovik’s are pretty ready to get their mitts on this place.” Jackal shouted out, his face obscured by the facemask which served as an sensor modification to sight and other senses.
“I swear, we get one little flag about a locked up lab with a nasty bug and we’re thrown right through a fucking Aschen invasion.” He said, racking the bolt of his own weapon before the Vedama pulsed the large engines in an attempt to de-accelerate and hover over the roof of a building reaching from the grounds of the complex.

“Out, out, out!” Tyro shouted, practically leaping from the back ramp of the dropship and rolling into a crouch as he landed. Not much later, the other soldier’s had joined Tyro and Jackal on the rooftop as the first gunshots began to sound throughout the complex.
“The fuck is happening?” A Corporal inquired, crouched with his rifle on his lap before Tyro pointed at a stair access to the building’s interior.

“They’re shooting the civilians. We need to move, now.”

; Tyro swung his weapon against his shoulder as a trio of soldier’s descended the stairs. With a majority of the ITDM personnel rapelling down the sheer face of the building to engage the Aschen reactionary force, Tyro and Jackal had taken it upon themselves to find the contact quickly, and remove it decisively.
“The stairs are clear, I don’t think any Sovs have gotten into the building yet -- “ As Tyro was descending the stairs, a rumble caused him to lean against the wall just to keep himself standing.

“Jesus ... are they fucking glassing the place?” The lone Sergeant behind them remarked, keeping his own compact rifle nestled into his shoulder before Tyro brought a heel back and sent it crashing through a locked door. A lone red siren light was rotating in the empty hallway, a few clutters from overturned trashcans and debris could be seen through the doorway as Tyro entered the hall, Jackal covering him from the doorframe before a loud explosion was accompanied by a joyous howl over the radio.

“Wooo! Scored my first fuckin’ tank kill!” The communicator squawked as Tyro approached a window, peeking out to see the burning chassis of an Aschen tank, the contents of the infantry escorting it alight and dispersed in a gory crescent around the vehicle.
“Stop playing fucking Whack-a-Tank and find the god damn contact!”

Tyro quickly wove his way down the hall, stopping at an elevator and prying the doors open to peer down through the shaft.
“Sonuvabitch ... Countermeasures probably turned this whole place into one big electronic deadzone. We need to get down to the lower floors, there’s an elevator stuck in the shaft!”
