Utzanthtog the Unending

"He who is unto like death, but delves in sorrow and suffering. There is no peace for those who lay at his feat"

0 · 422 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Conquerer_Man

Description

Evil who takes on the form of a man, Utzanthtog's form is that of a human body now decayed for sometime. His flesh is wispy and thin, hanging on by only a few bits of tissue connected to his skeletal frame. His body is clocked in what would seem like old fabric, covering his body in a flowing black cloth and concealing some of the more gruesome details. His head is covered by a hood that drapes almost over his eyes, now lightless voids with only a prick of green peering out from oblivion. Upon his head rests a twelve pointed heavily tarnished gold crown with a single gem on it's larger front point. Engraved upon the crown is the words of an ancient language; translated as "To Know Death is Peace; May he who Wears this Crown Never Know Peace".

Personality

Utzanthtog's drive is not that of mere mortal men, but that of some thing that exists and is driven by a "need" intrinsically built with in that force. He is without mercy and derives pleasure from suffering. He has a somewhat cruel sense of humor.

Equipment

Utzanthtog has no need for equipment, only carrying his crown and robes.

History

Utzanthtog history is unimportant as he flows like a force through reality, existing while never truly beginning.

"Every sin you've commited, every whispering thought of temptation, every vile emotion that has errupted from within I have co-authored, had a hand in, and shaped for none are without blemish. I have touched the hearts of all."

So begins...

Utzanthtog the Unending had found the city very delightful. Full of opportunity and an almost never ending abundance of... things to do, or rather to do things to. This bar was of particular interest since it had this ablitiy to pull everything to it. Utzanthtog wondered what kind of magic the owner had to pay for for his establishment to seem like a spoonful of honey to the swarm of insects that is the inhabitants of the city. That was the inhabitants, for the dead can't truly inhabit anything but the grave. Too bad he would have to resort to such base way to achieve his ends. Utzanthtog would far rather have a personal relationship with these being but he was short on time and so he would have to do things the "Horseman's Way".

Seemed like someone had beat him to the punch though. The fighting in the streets was quick to pick up and that brought a smile to the Utzanthtog's face, if he could smile. The back and forth between the two sides was such a visceral experience that it didn't matter the war, it was just...good and Utzanthtog just wanted to saunter and dance through it all. Too bad he was beyond the age of such frivolities.

Utzanthtog's cloaked figure rustled in the breeze of the night air as he stood on the corner of the street, observing the fighting between the disguised Scatteran's, who's size gave them away, and the Aschen soldiers, who's odor gave them away. Looking to the sky, he wondered what metal beasts might be lingering above. It was of no concern though as Utzanthtog saw a massive squall of clouds rolling in, the wall lighting up as archs jumped through the sky in the distance.

Tonight will be a great night

Utzanthtog the Unending loved the darkness inside Gambits bar. It was almost depressing at times and that made Utzanthtog's work easier, sometimes taking the fun out of his works but oh well. Tonight though would probably be different given who seemed to occupy the bar; a satyr, some panda abomination, a witch, a cast down god, and... a demon. The last two were bit unexpected but never the less could prove to be fun.

The robed figure glided out from the corner of the bar he had occupied while he observed the bar over the course of he day. His height barely cleared the ceiling above but he slouched slightly out of habit giving him a bit more clearance. To this eldritch being, drinks and food were of no point, it was the things consuming the drinks that he wanted.

A lone individual was what he was looking for and Utzanthtog found one. A poor down on his luck worker who had just enough for a night of drinking. At least he wouldn't have worry about his future anymore. Standing unnoticed behind the plebeian, the bony hands silently reached forward and around. Paying attention to only his drink in front of him, the man failed to notice the clothes on his back aging rapidly and his own body meeting an age that he was not ready for. In the few seconds that the two being met, the poor worker had aged beyond the normal life span of a human. He expired right there as his organ failed.

Utzanthtog relished in his death, his suffering that of a man who had to watch everything he knew dear left behind as he shuffled off this mortal coil. The corpse was pulled in Utzanthtog's robe, disappearing.

Utzanthtog the Unending turned from the bar to the rest of the establishment. Who would be next; the satyr, no they were always too inebriated to know what was going on. The demon, no they were a mess in and of them selves. perhaps the cast-down god, no same basket the demon was in. What about the panda... thing, not fun enough. Oh the witch would be a good next target. Utzanthtog always loved dealing with those who meddled about in the deep knowledge of the universe. Often they were so sure of their abilities and that led them to believe the could handle whatever they might encounter. Often times it was the contrary though.

Utzathtog took his steps carefully around the edge of the room, where his feet touched the floor turned brittle and bleached. Almost as if his form was waltzing, he made his way to the table the witch was sitting at in a zig zag fasion, fading in an out of the shadows. He towered over the witch sitting down, able to peer down and look at the book that she was reading.

"And what kind of grimoire are you perusing, witch?"

Utzanthtog the Unending pulled back his jaw in his facsimile of a smile. So the demon was next then, what good luck for the witch then. Her smell drenched his nostrils and the void pierced her disguise to reveal to him her true form hidden from the rest. So she was the fallen angle Lilith, protected from Utzanthtog by the very being that cast her down. He knew that deal was a bad idea to begin with now, Utzanthtog thought to himself.

It was a bit of a surprise though that the cast-down god and the demon had made some sort of deal, specially about some sword the god apparently cherished, only to be swindled away by the Harlot herself. Utzanthtog almost felt sympathy for the god.

"Uppity now aren't we, little demon," the figure put his hand, the wood crumbling underneath, "what would you have to say if I did take the mortal? Or perhaps this immortal cast aside to languish among these infanitismila specks that used to worship him? Or that panda creature that should not exist but does? What gives you the right to deny me my stake in their end?"

Utzanthtog the Unending barked out laughter so loud that it filled the bar and drowned out the music. To bad it was not the demons humor that caused Utzanthtog's response. More so it was her failed assessment of the situation that made him laugh. For all of their power, they could still just as blind as any other creature. It was too bad that she could not understand his own needs as well as she did her... needs.

"Oh my little Lilith," his voice spoke in a deep sing-song tone, his hands glancing across her face causing her mortal disguise to age, her own powers returning it to normal as he removed his hands, "You mistake my intent, I'm not here to fight or to seek battle like some, I do not seek glory like some vain worrier or delusional angle."

"Would you call a the beasts that prowl the jungles cowards for rending helpless prey in twane, or the birds of prey for feasting on the young of lesser birds?," Utzanthtog turned away from the demoness to gesture to the inhabitants of the bar, "No I'm not hear because I'm board, I'm here because I desire the sustenance that I require."

Utzanthtog the Unending returned his attention to Sirad before him. "Do not believe that you have any right to tell me how I should go about my business, I cannot destroy as a being of righteousness can," Utzanthtog's gravely voice lowered in volume as he leaned forward to whisper in Sirad's face, "I can restrain you, I can derive you of all that you seek, every pleasure that you enjoy, I can rend from you."

Utzanthtog reared back and drove his hands through reality. The bony digits and the hands they were attached to appeared behind Ichigo in Maeve's illusion, latching on to her and pulling her back through to reality. "None are safe from me or my machinations," Utzanthtog spoke as he lifted Ichigo off her feat, tracing a finger along the side of her head turning that lock of hair grey, "and I'm not so opposed to other means of satisfaction if it serves my plans."

"There is an end coming, and it is much larger than you are, or my self, we are just parts and the suffering of this planet is mine."

Utzanthtog the Unending brought Ichigo up to head level, leaning in to whisper into her ear, "You will forever know my voice, let it sooth you when I speak and drive you to sleepless nights when I don't." The voids of his eyes seemed to swirl as he turned Ichigo to face him. "I will not harm you, any more than she will," Utzanthtog said as he pointed towards Maeve, setting his captive down.

Utzanthtog turned his attention back to Sirad while waving his hands to dispell the illusion just as the tree errupted. "Perhaps you'd have far more interest if your being was at stake," he spoke as he reached out to grip Sirad herself, "perhaps you should lose the disguise"

Utzanthtog the Unending hands traced along the floor, leaving a glowing trail where his fingers scraped. As Sirad passed over the lines, they errupted in a whirlwind of shadow and void, latching on and holding Sirad in place. Utzanthtog wrapped his hand around the ensnared demon's mortal form and lifted her up, still wrapped in void. His other hand whipped through the air and opened up another portal. Pushing the demon through head first, he held her there.

"NO YOU ARE 'DENSE' LILITH," his voice screaming into the void, free hand pointing to a dozen beings lashed to what looked like molten rocks, "I cannot destroy you, I may not be able to harm you, but there is a prison coming LILITH, and your fate will be worse then dealth."

Utzanthtop pulled the demon back out of the portal and set he down on the floor. "We are all part of a bigger plan, know that, and perhaps you'll find some meaning greater than playing pretend at some bar," Utzanthtog reared back, to his full height after bending down, "this planet will meet its end, for it is just one upon a long list that judgement will visit upon."

Utzanthtog the Unending stared down at Sirad, whose attitude still had not changed. Utzathtog remembered when a force of evil could get some respect, before he had taken this form or any countless other forms. There was no respect anymore and that's why these demons did nothing but lounge around and pretend to be "deep".

"You know what you youngsters lack?," Utzanthtog gravely voice sighed as he fixed the ruffle in his hood, "you lack conviction."

Utzanthtog the Unending laughed as Sirad went on her tirade. At least she can respect them, too bad she was unable to recognize one of them. Utzanthtog sighed at the bar. He still wished to subvert its magic, but he would have to do it another time, another time when he could work with more... amiable beings. With that he stepped out of existance.

Utzanthtog the Unending would have grinned if he could. This Elijah was foolish to attempting what he was doing. The threat that existed if any of them were magic users would be one catastrophic proportions. Even if it ended in the magic users destruction, it would surely take the rest of the party goers as the afflicted would lash out in some an attempt at revenge before being snuffed out from this life. Utzanthtog loved it.

Utzanthtog the Unending was enjoying the rable below him. The whole soul switching thing was bit convoluted but if that's how the beings power was going to manifest, so be it. Other's though was a bit more interesting, specially the one that got transformed into a dragon. Another seemed to be at least keeping the magic from 'exploding' forth, which was not what Utzanthtog wanted to see. Oh so much chaos but it wasn't quiet what Utzanthtog wanted it to be. Perhaps it was time to add a bit more.

Utzanthtog ran his hands along the metal frame work that propped up the dome above. Already it was rusted and corroded in spots. Such aged metal felt good under his bony digits. Decay and death even comes to those that are seen as hardy. With that he pushed on the frame work, forcing it to bend and brake as it aged rapidly. The dome over head soon collapsed and massive shards of glass plumeted towards the ground, killing all who would be caught under the glass storm.

Utzanthtog the Unending moved around the edge of the base of the now collapsed dome. Finally, the abomination shows it's true form, more enjoyable than having him couped up in that mortal form. Perhaps there would be more action from him. The glass though was too much to stop even for the beast and large shards still made it through, one even slicing a person in half and coating the floor in a thick pool of entrails and blood. More and more Utzanthtog was enjoying the evening.

Utzanthtog the Unending paced back and forth watching the ongoing mess below. All the pawns moving back and forth were easy to keep track of but perhaps it is time to find the Rook. Elijah was now Utzanthtog's focuse as he moved to position over the same side of the ballroom that the crazed man was on.

With a quick slam of against that edge of the rim, that portion of the roof collapsed, sending the cloaked figure towards the floor below and right in front of Elija who had been caught under the debris. The pointed tips of Utzanthtog's figers reached out and grabbed the man by his suit, tearing into it slightly. With quick step forward and into the shadows of the now dimmed room and outside of the building with Elijah in hand.

"You're methods are sloppy," the gravely voice was almost filled with laughter, "but I like it"

Utzanthtog the Unending hoisted the flailing form of Elijah upwards to eye level with himself. His piercing gaze looked both at and through Elijah, unsettling in both accounts. With his free hand Utzanthtog pulled Elijah's mask off, turning in afterwards to view the entirety of Wing City before them. "This is the start Elijah, of a plan, and you are but a pawn in it," Utzanthtog gestured outwards to the whole city, "there is a judgement coming upon all and this planet will be the start and this city the beginning of the beginning."

Setting Elijah down, he shifted his grasp on the mortal from his suit to his head, the digits enclosing around it. "I need a pawn, among many, to bring this judgement," his bony figure began to push against the man's temple and into his head, forcing and image of a burning Wing City into his mind, "You will help bring this about with your... drug, now go and further your plans"

Utzanthtog the Unending watched as the little man Elijah scurried off to disappear and escape any retribution from his victims. This night was a success, salvaged from it one more pawn to shift into the game. Soon things will come to a head and judgement will come, with it destruction and sorrow. Looking towards the now clearing night sky, his void filled eyes peered into the black abyss above. "From the stars shall come a thousand fires, and from the earth below shall all return,

Utzanthtog the Unending was tucked away in one of the corners of the bar's main floor. He was fascinated with this establishment. By no extraordinaire circumstances, this "Gambit's Bar" was now occupied by a psychic, a soldier, an creature made of ice, and not one but two demons. What magic may entwine this place to this physical plane made Utzanthtog further wonder the specifics. What sort of machinations grind among these walls. Not only did it draw in a plethora of clients, but also kept the bar repaired and was blocking Utzanthtog from seeing it for him self.

Utzanthtog would resign himself to his role of observer for the time being. His time to corrupt and pull apart Gambit's bar would come, but he had to unlock the box first and that required listening for the tumblers to fall. Soon though, so very soon.

Utzanthtog the Unending looked on from the corners of the room at this display by the two twins in youthful apparel who seemed to be 'pestering' an immortally young man. Their methods, though promising of torture and suffering, were to whimsical for Utzanthtog's taste. He was a being of straightforwardness and sensibility. He enjoyed torture just as much as the twins probably did, but the bitterness of directly ripping a way hope was to him a far better taste the the 'lighter' manner many of the villainous pretenders seemed to go about achieving their means. That fool Elijah from a few nights ago was good example, whose attempt at some grand scheme was only saved by Utzanthtog's intervention.

And with that, the cloaked figure watched from the darkened corners of the room, wondering who this queen might be.
