Personality

How do you describe him? Well, he's odd and if you haven't already noticed this then you're out of the loop. To put it straight; Victus has rarely had it easy. Life was a process of neglect, mental issues, and being lower middle-class. He's always been one to question things; a rambler of sorts that finds it hard to make friends and prefers the company of himself over being too sociable with others. By personal perspective he sees himself as an introvert; someone that prefers quiet locations and the company of close friends than out and about at events where large numbers of people. Yet in a situation that screams dire and panic, he is perfectly calm and can quickly shift from being quiet and mousy to becoming the leader of the situation to guide others to safety. Weather he is both introvert and extrovert is hard to say, but Victus shows both qualities when the time calls for it.

Physically he is average and a bit on the short side. Though he stands taller than most females of his kind, he's surprisingly stunted compared to most Animus males. Mentally he is greatly out of whack. Where most Animus are greatly left brain empowered, Victus shares the human weakness of his brain sometimes being triggered by both sides at once. This syndrome can sometimes lead to bouts of uncontrolled emotions, sensory deprivation, and long term effects of mental disabilities. Various forms of medication have made him curious, if not obsessed, with medical remedies and side effects which he enjoys studying. Most of his hobbies include reading and technology. He has a favorable love for creating prosthetic-robotic limbs for the fun of it, he also enjoys creating small gadgets and tick tock things from various parts of computers and other old entertainment appliances. Cooking isn't something he openly loves because he's not that grand at it. Baking sweets and pastries is a fun thing to do, but making an entire meal for someone makes him nervous.

Insomnia is something he deals with from time to time. Often during the winter months he finds it difficult to rest. Weather it be the cold or simply the side effects of his medication is still unknown, but there will be days where he simply can't or won't sleep. This leads him to becoming more irritable and stressed while the catering to relieving his tensions find broader outlets. As for drinking and smoking, those are done sparingly. Illegal drugs are rare, save for a bit of grass, and he's been known in the past younger years to pop pain pills, yet those were decades ago and he hasn't picked up an Over the Counter drug since. Alcohol is something that he takes once in a blue moon. He's a lightweight and can quickly become a lush which can transform into a serious addiction if he doesn't pay attention. A shot of whiskey here, a glass of wine there, and he's done for the evening. Alcohol is simply a gateway that leads to risks that he wishes not to take. He knows his limits.

If you haven't noticed already, Victus can be a bit of a personal control freak. He's not bossy with others, nor is he overly dominant unless he gets that itch for it, but when it comes to his personal living space and how his life is ran, he prefers to be the one to hold the reins. If one was to step in and rearrange things out of whack in his home or change the shift in his schedule then he panics. Being on time and punctual is something he enjoys, the monotony of doing the routine of waking up, going to work, coming home, and going to bed is comforting because he knows its something he can go by. Big changes in life scare him and he's had relationships fall and crumble because of it.

History

A flip of a coin can decide a left or right way to anything. Weather it be heads or tails there's always a result at the end. With our Earth being heads, the outcome of human history has been set a path that we all know by now. Man made fire and the wheel, colonization of America, the Black Plague, Wars, Conflicts, Natural Disasters, all of it. Decided upon an omnipresence of a flip of a butterfly effect coin. Though this coin is more like a multi-sided dice with trillions of outcomes that may or may not happen. Oh sure to you, an ordinary nickle, to divine forces (if there are any) they not only see the markings on the coin as the outcome, but also the writing, the letters, each little dent and mark, every bit of result on what it lands on. All of it may be a possible outcome. And then you ask. "Well if we're heads, then who's tails?" To put it truthfully, we really don't know much. Their outcomes were different than ours. Sometimes we won, sometimes they won. It's been a full on 50/50 challenge of who'll "win the game" and in the end, the sad reality is that there isn't a defined winner save for the coin that was given the questions to manipulate and curve into a result. The coin always wins because it has a choice. It gets to choose. We don't.

Our "brothers" on the tails side are currently in the lead of this race to winning nothing. They're ahead of us when it comes to technology and they're stronger, yet because of a few fails of the game in the past, they're greatly flawed with many characteristics that will end with them being the loser once the game is done and over with. In the end, there's no doubt about it that we, the heads, will win the game of chance. Both sides have discovered each other, both sides know somewhat that the other is there, but we have not raised a hand to interact let alone even bother trying to make contact. We see it as cheating and a risk. One would assume, on both sides, that we were not even meant to know about each other. The Coin made a hiccup while being flipped and tore a seam in something. Still, we don't know, we're not going to bother in even trying to figure out how or why, we're just going to play it out.

They call themselves the Animus. They're aliens, but so are we in a way, and they're exactly like us with an exact run through of their history that matches ours that simply obtained different results. Case in point, let us pull an example; The Black Plague. To our world, this was a catastrophic event of biological destruction. This disgusting infection was bordering on worldwide proportions and almost wiped out most of the European countries, Russia, and certain parts of Asia were drastically lowered when it came to population. People were scared, things were hellish. Yet on the opposite end, they were not given this hand of cards, in fact, our twin kin won this round by not having to deal with the Plague. Because of this, they had managed to outwit the oppression of logic and scientific study when it came to the Church reigning over the people. Many scientists, theorists, and great thinkers emerged in secret during these times and a great conflict erupted. Many in that world say it was the first rock to be thrown when it came to the conflicts of science and religion. Yet one thing that made these Animus who they are today was during their World War Two, they were unable to stop Adolf Hitler in time. His reign across most of Europe spread like wildfire until it was too late for other countries to fight back. For the first time, their Earth had a ruling dictatorship of all the United Nations and he reigned over all with a merciless, iron fist. It wasn't until around the early 1960's that Hitler was finally overthrown and peace returned to the nations, yet his views on one staying within their own country was kept in rule for another twenty more years. Not out of fear or paranoia for foreigners, but for the sake the nations needing time to rebuild and slowly prepare the process of reconnecting with other nations to start off with another peace treaty.

It wasn't until around 1985 that Humans started transforming into Animus. It was a mistake really, something that wasn't intended, but happened anyways. The after effects of the war and Hitler's reign obviously left some form of backlash with his biological weaponry. Yet even back then the usage of artificial intelligence was massive. Back then though, robots were only used as weapons in war or for homes as domesticated things to help with the chores, yet the great, logical war of robots obtaining a soul of sorts caused plenty of moral issues for some that saw the robots as slaves. But what if they could combine these artificial beings with humans that were willing to partake in such life threatening studies. The head of the project was Dr. Leroy E. Animus whom not only went through the process of combining man with technology, but also the leader of the project itself.

As always, there are many failures when it comes to practicing such life threatening risks. People died, others suffered and then died, there were very few that were successfully able to go through the process of becoming both man and machine. Dr. Animus was playing God and simply not doing a good job with it. Thirty years were spent perfecting the art, he was literally breaking down human DNA and reconstructing it to his whims. He became mad with power at what he could do, his breakthroughs were a success and the first human-robotic being was brought fourth within the womb of his very wife. The first Animus was born. The name of this Animus was unknown yet many names have been thrown out there that he was named after Dr. Animus himself; Leroy. Others say that his name was Victus, named after Dr. Victus Animus whom was Dr. Leroy Animus' father. Still, over the centuries the first born Animus has had the name changed throughout his epic deeds in both adventures and in battle. He was an activist and a peace speaker, a war hero and a noble being that brought fourth the first Animus beings from hiding to make them accepted into human society.

All good things come to an end though and with the final chapter of this unknown Animus, his mark left on his few Animus brethren led to another revolt of epic proportions. In the end, Animus took the reins of leadership from humans and another war erupted. This time, the humans did not succeed...

So begins...
