Name: Vanacassya Torathanas

Age: 1287

Race: Elvhen

Occupation: Battle Cleric, a purveyor of charms

Appearance: Her slim, oval face has an alabaster complexion, slim straight nose and light violet eyes. Medium-length pale golden hair is usually held back away from her face by intricately designed haircombs, revealing her pointed ears and slender neck. Her lithe frame is usually covered in dazzling robes crafted from the finest fabrics.

Skills/Powers:She is a battle cleric, well versed in the arts of protection and healing with only minor lessons in elemental magics to aide her fellow soldiers. When not in the field, she crafts charms to help people either with every day tasks or with intangible things such as luck, health, fertility, etc.

Weaknesses: Fragile, which is why she went into the branch of magic that teaches many forms of protection.

History: Vanacassya comes from a long line of healing magic and her father was a High Mage in service to the Goddess of the Moon, Sehanine Moonbow, but Vanacassya herself turned from the path of the Moon Goddess and follows Sharess, goddess of hedonism, festhalls and sensual fulfillment. She began her life on a search for knowledge and magical information and did not return to her homeland until her voracious curiosity was sated.

So begins...

Another ghost of a smile formed on her pale lips as she listened to Afen. The girl sounded the same, brash and opinionated but if she were still the same person, hiding a perfectly humorous and friendly personality. She recalled the last thing that the daughter of Atlantis had said to her, "What my father is saying, or trying to say and failing, is that I think you two look quite good together and that you seem like a fit match for one another. He's too 'refined' to mention it, however, on accord of the fact that he doesn't want to insult you or make you uncomfortable." Retrieving such a memory almost made the elven battlemage laugh but instead, she allowed her gaze to fall upon Ikiros as he began to speak.

So formal... she thought to herself and she inclined her head towards him in an equally formal greeting before responding. "It is understandable. Perhaps, one day, you will share with me the stories of what took place during your absence." Her fingers rubbed absently over the seashell once more, using it now as more of a worry stone instead of an object of interest.

"You have suffered a long journey then, perhaps I shall let you both return home so that you may rest?"

The sad truth of the matter was that time spent apart, especially during a friendship that had barely begun to turn into more, seemed to reset everything. Old feelings still simmered just beneath the elf's otherwise stoic features but she knew better than to assume that everything had stayed the same. It obviously hadn't, with the large ship that had brought Ikiros and his daughter to shore before vanishing into thin air. The Atlantean had been skilled before but she had obviously missed quite a bit in the time they spent apart.

Still, she was unwilling to give up his friendship either so with a small gesture of her hand, she indicated that perhaps they should take a walk before tucking her hands back into her sleeves once more. Her arms now folded across her torso like a monk as she began to walk slowly towards Ikiros so she could continue her stroll along the shoreline.

"Do you wish to speak of your travels, then? Or shall we find something less detailed to speak of?"

In all honesty, the elven mage had forgotten that Ikiros was telepathic. He had really only used the power with his daughter around here and so it was one of those little facts that she knew, but slipped to the recesses of her mind. So her thoughts were unshielded and easily read, if he did decide to try. Once she recalled that particular skill being in his repetoire though, she would begin shielding again.

Her delicately pointed ears listened to his every word and the intonation reflected upon each. From his short statements, she had gleaned a few things but decided not to press for too much information until the last statement caught her off guard.

"...we'll not go to war while I lead."

Immediately after he spoke that phrase, her pale brow arched high upon her forehead and the flicker of surprise was evident upon her serene features. Her face turned slightly towards him, assessing him once more before she would inquire further.

"Lead?" Was all the said. A simple repetition of the word, yet it obviously asked for more than a definition. His trip wasn't quite as uneventful as he made it seem.

Vanacassya continued her slow stroll, taking in the information as he presented it without reaction. She was happy for him, even though it didn't show upon her features. He had told her the story of his exile and back then her heart had ached for him so to be welcomed back into the same world that had cast him out and to be given such a position was...

Amazing.

It was then that she allowed the hint of emotion, another soft smile, to appear, curving the edged of her mouth even as she turned her face from him to peer along the sandy shore once more in the direction that they were heading. They were nearing a small dirt path that arched off into the woods beyond, the same path that would take her in one of two directions. Either back to her cottage or towards the abandoned library where she spent a majority of her time nowadays. Still reading, researching and even more recently- teaching.

Her movements finally paused when they neared the foot of the path and she looked towards Ikiros, her countenance friendly. "I am happy for you, Ikiros. I won't bother you with more questions. I will save my curiosity for another time..." she chuckled quietly, allowing her hands to slip from her sleeves so that they now hung by her sides. The seashell still nestled within one of her palms.

Small specks of dust were made evident in the air by the thin slivers of daylight that seeped in through curtains covering the large open windows though the lone figure in the Library didn't even seem to notice her surroundings. Vanacassya, with her pale blond hair cascading down her back like a cloak, was seated at one of the tables, settled into a massive, hand-carved wooden chairs that seemed to have been built for someone much larger than her species. It dwarfed her, making her undetectable from someone walking in behind her and she had chosen this specific location because it gave her a clear view of the entrance.

That is, if she had ever bothered to look up from the large and leather bound tome with seemed to have her captivated at the moment.

Pale pink lips moved as if she were reading the book aloud, yet no sound issued from her mouth. It was a method she had for memorizing things, committing them to memory to recall later on and this was the first tome of ancient Rakath spells that she had found so she delved into it completely with little regard for anything this day. It had been seven hours since she had last moved. Not even parting from her book long enough to eat or stretch.

For the first time since she had come to the Library this day, a sound other than those provided by nature touched her delicately pointed ears and she paused her studies. There it was again, a soft cracking sound followed by the barest sound of padding footsteps causing Vana's lips to curl into a soft smile. She knew very well that Ikiros could walk without being heard so perhaps he was making his presence known so as not to frighten her. At least, she hoped it was the Atlantean or else her next move would be very foolish indeed.

"In here, Ikiros." She called softly, her violet eyes settling upon the door as if awaiting his arrival. Though her fingers itched to keep turning pages, her mind and eyes were both more than ready for a break and she slipped a dried oak leaf in to the tome to mark her place before closing it and pushing it slightly away.

For the dozenth or more time today, she had wondered if she had dressed appropriately enough. For months she had no reason to dress to impress, so to speak, and now she was wondering if her light silvery gown was too formal. Almost sheer in appearance, the silver cloth was backed by a light blue fabric that was barely perceptible until the viewer got close to her and she had an elven diadem on her head as well because she usually wore no other jewelry.

Vana's eyes fell to the mist as she listened to him speak, an imperceptible emotion flickering over her delicate features before violet eyes once more raised to meet his. It seemed like their relationship, whatever stage it had been reset to, was still tentative. Reverting back almost to the same intimacy that they had upon first meeting though perhaps a bit more... Withdrawn. How was she to know that they wouldn't be separated again for another 6 months, or even more next time he disappeared. For in her mind, it wasn't a question of if he would leave Wing City but a question of when it would happen and the length of time he would be gone.

Raising her hand, she rested it upon the leather cover of the tome she had been reading, her manicured nails tracing idly over the etchings as she spoke in the same soft tones. It was a library, after all, and though no one else had dared cross into its supposedly haunted halls in awhile she still felt the need to be respectful. "Ikiros, I'm surprised you stopped by," she smiled then, an honest smile even if it wasn't a large one. "How's Afen?"

The elven maiden's head tilted slightly to one side, intrigued by his wording in quite a few areas but not knowing which to start with. Still, this wasn't an interrogation by any means and she didn't want to come across as such, no matter how curious she was about everything that he had told her the last time they had inexplicably run into each other. "Ah, well tell her that I asked of her, will you?" A smile curved her mouth once more as she recalled Afen and her amusing personality from before their sudden disappearance. The girl was quite the firebrand and perhaps one day she would be able to ask her of her travels to her 'homeland'.

"And you? How have you fared since your trip to your homeland? Has life in Wing City seemed boring since your return?" Light laughter fell from her lips as she gazed upon him with her violet eyes, honestly interested in the man despite everything that had happened, or not happened, in the past few months.

Even if she didn't inquire about the pause after his admission that he did, indeed, seem a bit bored after returning to Wing City, she couldn't help the curiousity that flickered through her eyes or the slightly arched blond brow. Yet, even if she wanted to inquire further, the conversation turned to her and her expression softened a bit as he said that he missed her.

Yet, what to tell him regarding her past six months? Life had stayed pretty consistent for her while he was gone aside from the obvious lack of the Atlantean in her life. "My unit was called to battle about a month after you had leftdisappeared." Her fingers traced over the book upon the table once more, a momentary diversion before she continued. "It didn't last long." They had been decimated, but she wouldn't go in to that. No need to worry him when she was obviously quite alive and healthy. "Other than that I have been... good. Life has treated me well." A pause, a slight intake of breath before she admitted, "And I missed you as well."

Vana's gaze stayed steadily on Ikiros even though part of her wanted to drop her attentions to the book on the desk once more. Books were easier than people, were they not? Easier to understand and deal with. Perhaps that was one of the reasons that she had become a mage. Studious and nose-deep in tomes, only out socializing when she was called upon. Still, she also wasn't a coward and when presented with a question point-blank, she responded in kind.

"I do not know, Ikiros..." she sighed, lifting both hands to rub them over her weary face for a moment before letting them fall and settle into her lap. "I would." Her tone was decisive and firm as her eyes sought his. "I would like to at least try before declaring it otherwise. We were on the precipice of... Something before. I don't know what but I would like to follow its path."
