Personality

The Human: Verika is very social with a humorous way of looking at things. She is rather intelligent and can remain calm in some of the most stressful situations. She has no mental filter and has a habit of openly speaking her mind which has gotten her into trouble frequently. She is stubborn and once her mind is made up there is little anyone can do to change it. She is bold and does have a habit of taking risks but she makes a great leader. She can be very affectionate towards her clan. She is resentful of humans.

The Hyena: The hyena is very contemplative and still very social but she loses her ability to stay calm under stress but lashes out more easily when she is irritable. She still has her humour but it is darkened slightly. She is more cautious and distances herself from those no in her clan for fear or harming them, she is also more cautious in directing her clan. She is a lot less reckless, thus an even better leader as a hyena. She is a little less affectionate but still has her moments.

Equipment

As a human Verika always carries around her trusty hunting knife. Also, she drives an old red rusty for pick-up truck.

History

Born as a werehyena, Verika was raised in a town completely created for a clan of werehyenas. This town was located deep in the plains of Africa, and to the surrounding areas this town was cursed and was not to be approached. She grew up with an adopted familty, since her parents were hunted down and killed by humans. She had three brothers that were raised with her. She grew up a rather happy, naive child without a care in the world. That was, until the age of 10. When she was ten she wandered off as a hyena into one of the neighboring villages. The humans attacked and drove her off in a panic and one hunter follwed her, intending to kill her. He caught up to her and pinned her down and that was when she lost her eye. One of her brothers rescued her and killed the man who attacked her.

Broken and now distrustful, Verika falls into a deep depression. Despite her social nature she refuses to speak to anybody, and in fact some thought she was mute after the incident. She begins to spend all of her time reading and listening to the radio (this town has a regular american poor town setup). The social unrest within her causes her to lash out violently towards herself, she begins to hit herself and it gets to the point were she breaks her own leg. Causing permanant damage that causes a slight hitch in her left leg when she walks. Her depression lasts until she turns 15. At 15 she starts to open up again exclusively to the brother who saved her. She begins to lighten up again, talking to people again. Then when she is 17 that brother disappears and later when she is hunting she finds his corpse, killed by humans. Filled with rage she seeks out the one who shot him and finds him in his home and kills him in front of his wife and daughter. Then when she saw the way the daughter looked at her she instantly feels disgusted with herself and she runs away to live in the wild by herself for a year. She refuses to go near even her own kind, and this is a time she refuses to talk about.

She returns finally to her clan where she has her current personality. She is easily accepted back, her adopted mom now the new leader. She becomes close to her mother again. And then her mother passes from old age and appoints Verika leader. Shocked Verika tried to get out of it but eventually decides to take the place of her mother as clan leader. This is where she is preasant day, beginning her days as her clan head.
