The first man, Duke, who's muscles were much more defined than his companion's, sat at the counter, dialing in an order immediately. He let out a slow sigh, as if he were annoyed with something. Galven knew much better than this. It was Duke's natural way of reacting, and it was never in a friendly matter.

Vince went to sit next to Duke, his one revealed eye wide. He rolled back his shoulders and looked around, catching eye of Clarissa as she came to them.

"Ah...hello," said Vince, scratching the back of his head. Duke looked to her, then wheeled his chair around. He had caught glimpse of an instrument. Was someone going to play?

"Hmm? Me? Oh, no! Certainly not! I just did not expect someone to come up so suddenly, is all," responded Vince, looking up to Clarissa with that sole eye of his. Beyond Clarissa, he spotted Glimmer, but said nothing to her. After all, he was already busy with one girl.
Wow. That was fast. They'd just come in, after all!

"My name is Vince. Nice to meet you." he said, attempting a smile. It was nice enough, though slightly awkward.

"Oh, is that so?" said Vince, looking up at this woman as he tapped in a quick order for himself. It was nothing like Duke's ale- no. Something from his own futuristic era. Something that looked a lot less appealing.

"Your dances? For your people, a club, maybe...?" he asked.

Vince may have been an assassin, but he did not remember this Glimmer woman being on his list of those who he needed to be...ah...taken care of.

Was she? She wasn't familiar, at least, and he was wearing none of his equipment at all.

A handsome dark haired youth would come into the bar, freshly out of the haze of awkward teenage years. His bangs flopped over one eye, concealing it from view, though it was far from any Gothic or Emo-esque fashion. He wore bright clothes and none of his tech garb. A soft white button-down and a pair of brown cargo pants were casual enough for a bar without being sloppy.

Though the nanobots still ran through his veins, they were not currently active, and he was not on a job. If one were to try and detect them, sensors would only indicate a very high level of iron in his blood, as if he ate too much red meat. He certainly wasn't anemic in any way.

He caught the sight of several people as he made his way to the counter, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Crowded? Hardly. This particular cyborg had been within Gambit's at its rowdiest and fullest. This was hardly crowded. But, if those brothers had a bit of claustrophobia, it would explain a good few things very well. On to other things, Vince had noticed the nod Kaleb had given him, and lifted his chin toward her briefly in return, then moving to a booth. He rolled back his shoulders and sighed.

Just the other day he had seen Trenton, but had completely lost sight of him again. Damn that kid. They had things to sort out, after all!

The cyborg sighed, briefly turning back to survey the most recent patron, who just happened to be Timo. The girl's hair was reminiscent to the normal, downtown girls' trend that had been flooding the streets where he came from. He briefly wondered if, quite possibly, she really had been from the same time, the same world. Alas...there did not seem anything more out of the ordinary than her hair. Just another pretty face, a normal human.

Oh, Vince, how wrong he was.

"That depends," Vince said, raising a brow, "Depends what I'm seeing." He turned his stool around, facing her as he crossed his arms, leaning onto the counter. "For all I know, you're someone entirely different than what you are." A hint that he knew something? Hardly. Personality was more on his mind than the actual monster she was. He had no idea.

No, Vince wasn't undead. At one point, he had been rotting, yes, but of a disease, not of death. That had long since been taken care of, however. He could focus on better things, one of which came to be this woman in front of him currently.

"Superficially? It would be hard not to," he replied, never one to keep to himself those little opinions so many were afraid to release. Whether it be for reputation or otherwise, and what reputation, other than Biohazard, did he have to keep up? None. "And to add, I quite wasn't looking for the same thing. Surprising? Maybe.

"Moving on. What am I? Well...nothing special. Human?" he half-lied, "And what about yourself?"

Well, looks like both were trying to seem as something they were not, and both were doing a pretty good job. After all, being human was a natural thing to those who were at least half human at one time. "Surprising. So many of us here at once? That's a rare thing indeed. Honestly, I can't blame a lot of people." he replied, absently tapping in his usual order. That sickly looking, thick, black liquid that had a likeness to oil in both appearance and smell.

"It's true, though. When you mind your own business, you usually don't even get noticed."

"Either curiosity or...this really is the only bar in town, isn't it?" he asked, thinking back to how many other bars he had seen on his walks around town. There was a diner, he remembered, but it was hardly the same. But she was right. Just about every person in here had some great, strange thing about them. Even himself.

He picked up his drink and mixed it around a bit, rolling the bottom half of the mug in circles. As the woman inquired, he set it down and pushed it towards her. "The most unappealing drink you'll ever encounter. Boue. French for mud...or something like that. It's so filled with nutrients it would overload...ah...most people." Not 'normal' people. Right. Because he was normal!

In truth, the drink satiated both him and the nano bots. He had to eat for two nowadays. Two billion, that is.

"Er...not sick, no. I suppose you could say I have this...incredible metabolism." These lies were getting harder to stick to. He never spoke to many people, and not many inquired about his drink when vampires ordered a whole cup of blood or a demon came in for a snack and ripped someones arm off to take a bite.
Yeah, compared to them, what he had in his hands should be fairly normal.

"Law? Well, hell...you've certainly gotten that one right. People die in here daily. It's so common most don't turn their heads t- personal reasons?" He gave her a most curious glance as he took a long gulp of his drink.

"Holding back on something, are we?"

What was she speaking about? Her food had already left, so it certainly wasn't him, but then what? Another living being?

As her skin peeled back, all was revealed and put together. "Ah. A dhampir, you say? Never heard of one of those before," he replied, narrowing his eyes in...disgust? Interest? Something. Even with this fact revealed, however, Vince did not seem frightened, or even as uneasy as he should have been. His expression grew into that of a scientist to a new specimen.

"Borrowing a form? So that skin is a real one? Intriguing!" he said happily, pulling his ankle up to sit on his knee.

"Me? I'm not nearly as special. Just a couple billion nanobots swimming in my veins. See? Not interesting at all."

It was cold in the Frozen Pines. Not that it wasn't a given already; the place was probably called the Frozen Pines for an actual reason. In any case, that was just what was running through Vince's mind as he walked along the brittle pine tree's, dressed in a heavy coat. The bionic eye was set in place, but not for the certain job he was taking. It was so he did not get lost.

He blew hot air onto his hands, waiting for the nanites in his blood to adjust him to the temperature. They sure were taking their time.

Vince turned his eyes upward, catching the sight of someone ahead. He narrowed his one good eye, confused for just a second. People rarely visited the Frozen Pines. Was this some lost, lonely soul? No, she carried herself well enough. They couldn't be very in need of help with posture like that. As he came closer to her position, he could make out details on her figure, mostly including the heavy armor. A warrior, perhaps?

"Well, who is this that appears before my very eyes?" whispered Vince to himself, grinning. The trip out of that place might not be as long as he had expected it to be.

Her voice, certainly, had Vince taken slightly aback. It was demanding and all too forward for someone you'd only just met. Especially in a circumstance like this! He rubbed his pale fingers together and stuffed them into his thick coat pockets. "I think you block my path, as well. We're in the Frozen Pines, not too far from Wing City. You must be new here, yeah?" he asked, his tone much more relaxed than her own.

Hmph. Her speech revealed her to be one of those people; those who came from a strict, possibly older background, of sorts. She did not seem to be up with the more modern times. Perhaps she was just a foreigner from earth, however? It would certainly make sense, however, perhaps she wasn't. In any case.

"Ah, a traveler! We get a good lot of those, here. Are you, perhaps, looking for a city, or...?" he rolled one hand in front of him in a questioning gesture before quickly returning it to his pockets. His mechanical eye searched her, looking for weapons, unusual heat signals, the like. Who knew what kind of strange powers she had?

"Ah? Irrelevant? Well, I suppose I'll be on my way, th- ahh, some use, then?" he said, piping up as she continued. He thinned his lips, listening intently for what she had to say. Not like he was doing anything else to busy him, anyway. He pieced together what she was trying to hell him. My, so many words for something so simple.

"You mean a library, my dear?" he replied, grinning wide. She was challenging him even more by using that tone with him. Maybe he'd piss her off enough to crack that stoic exterior.

"You really are foreign. I wonder why you'd need things like that, hmm?"

"Of course you can't. Probably feel you're too important in a land where no one knows who you are," he said, looking off into the distance. "If you're looking for some kind of temple, we have a few of those, too. You've come to the multiverse, miss. If what you need isn't here, then it's nowhere to be found!" he said, opening his arms out wide, as if to embrace all of the place they were in. He welcomed the multiverse like a good friend.

"I could show you, though, quite honestly, I'm trying to get out of here, myself. I've only a vague idea where I am. Mayhap we can travel together, yes?"

Into Gambit's came Vince. He was a tall, olive skinned, and well-built. His clothes were plain, though they were neat, and his dark hair was combed heavily over one eye. He had a confident gait, and he looked straight ahead, as if nothing else existed. His hands were shoved into the pockets of his corduroy pants, and the soles of his shoes made no sound as he made his way casually to the counter of the bar.

As he sat down upon a stool, Vince finally took a brief moment to look around. Most people liked to stare in Gambit's, and they usually had good reason to. There was always someone interesting or a pretty face to admire. You didn't even have to be lucky to see a woman wearing next to nothing walk right through the door.

Funny place, Gambit's. Funny place.
