As Xalgan dodged out of the way of his strike, he managed to stop himself by digging the claws of his left hand into the ground. He then lifted his hand and out of it came a ball of pure Shadow. It headed towards the Sith, but it wouldn't do anything.

Storm-Shadow slowly stood. His legs and feet had also mutated now, and the suit was in the process of reforming itself. He started to laugh, almost hysterically. "You just don't get it...." he chuckled, stumbling a bit to the left as he laughed. "It's not the man's rage that now controls the body." The laughing and stumbling continued.

"In fact, now I'm in control..." The voice sounded the same, but there was a certain feeling to it, and there was the laughing. "...and I don't like you very much." he said to the Sith.

While he was doing this, orbs of shadow started to come from the areas of shadow that were darkest around them. The orbs hung in the air, just out of reach of the Sith, as if they didn't want to be touched by him even if he tried.

"Hmm..." the Sith eyed the spheres. "... Interesting. And you are?"

As the orbs danced around Xalgan, a dark malevolent energy surrounded him like a deep crimson aura. He gave the lightsaber a spin and clenched his free hand. The knuckles cracked.

"Oh, no one in particular. In fact I've taken a liking to this...human's name. Storm-Shadow will be both of our names." it said. "Now let's keep going, it's just starting to get fun." he laughed again, shooting lightning from his left hand at the Sith and into the orbs. The lightning that went into the orbs would then shoot between each of the orbs, becoming black lightning before shooting at the Sith on their own.

While this happened, Storm-Shadow charged the Sith again, aiming to slash across the belly.

As the onslaught of the lightning came, the Sith willingly took the brunt of the blow while lifting his lightsaber to absorb a few of the streaks. He lifted his other hand, palm facing Storm-Shadow. A powerful telekenetic force would slam into the soldier's chest like a train, sending him flying several yards.

Xalgan stood firm as the lightning faded. Virtually unfazed, the Sith laughed from within his helmet.

"Come then. Let us see how strong you are against a champion of the Dark Side."

A low growl came from the throat of Storm-Shadow as the Sith remained unfazed from his Shadow Lightning. He soon felt the force hit his chest, sending him backwards into a tree. "Very well then...Since you've asked so...nicely, I will answer your request." he said, standing up straight and rolling his shoulders.

Black Shadow Lightning surged in the air around him and in between the orbs of pure shadow that remained floating in the air around them. His grip on the hilt of the katana tightened and he began to run forward, mutated feet with draconian claws digging into the ground to give him superb traction and agility.

He raised the katana to slash at the Sith's shoulder, black lightning now surrounding the blade and adding power to it. The blade was already sharp enough to cut through just about anything, adding the Shadow Lightning would add to it's deadliness by slowly draining the life from it's victim.

If the strike did not succeed, then Storm-Shadow would disengage by hopping back, a few yards and shooting lightning from around his left hand.

With a terrifying cry of rage, Xalgan charged forward with lightning speed. He brought the lightsaber up in a parry against the mutant's devastating blow. Despite the Sith's apparent lack of cybernetic augmentations in his limbs, he stood strong against the blade. It was only dark hatred and fiery rage that surged through his arms, empowering them with unholy strength.

The Sith Juggernaut allowed the blow to slide along the edge of his lightsaber and away from him. When the Alpha Trooper leaped back and channeled his dark lightning, Lord Barlek lifted his saber to meet the black streak in an attempt to absorb it. Whether absorbing the lightning through his saber or himself, the Sith immediately propelled himself towards the soldier with a great leap. He moved in a dark blur as his saber spun in the palm of his outstretched hand.

The ground would sunder with his landing. A powerful shockwave rippled from the Sith along with tongues of crimson lightning. Large rocks, dirt, and sticks flew across the clearing like toys.

There is no peace. There is only passion.

Storm-Shadow found himself a bit surprised at the speed and strength of the Sith, and growled in annoyance as the lightsaber absorbed the lightning, well, most of it. One bolt would find its way past the light saber and towards the Sith's chest.

The soldier landed on his feet, and immediately jumped again, this time to the side and up, towards one of the orbs of shadow that floated around the area. If the Sith did not reach him in time, Storm-Shadow would disappear into the orb of shadow and reappear on the other side of the clearing.

However if the Sith did manage to make it in time, he would find a shadow-electric charged katana waiting for him, aimed towards the lightsaber in order to parry it away from the soldier's body.

Xalgan laughed as the soldier vanished and rematerialized across the clearing. "What's wrong, can't stand toe-to-toe? Why don't you try showing me what you can do with that little knife of yours..." he taunted while giving his saber another spin.

Lightning now sparked around Storm-Shadow's body in a more violent and uncontrolled way, and he started to chuckle to himself before charging forward towards the Sith again, this time his speed matching that of the Sith's. As he approached his laughter grew to a frighteningly psychopathic level before it suddenly stopped as the katana was brought down towards the Sith's head, aiming to cut it in half.

The air around Storm-Shadow's body began to grow hot and heavy with the intensity of the lightning. While he kept the Sith's lightsaber busy with his katana, the soldier brought his leg up to throw a roundhouse kick to the Sith's ribs. His leg moved as fast as he had just ran, and the Sith would need equally heightened senses to be able to block or dodge it. If the Sith could not manage to dodge the kick, he would be sent flying a few meters with maybe a broken rib or two.

Xalgan dropped into a roll to escape the initial charge while bringing his lightsaber up to counter the frenzy of strikes. He landed in a crouch with his legs spread wide to compensate his loss of balance. The red beam moved with blurring speed, expert skill, and unrivaled ferocity. The Sith poured his unrelenting fury into every strike, empowering it far beyond the strength and speed of any mortal man.

Behind the dark visor, his cybernetic eyes attempted to track the soldiers movements to the best of their abilities. However, even technology had its limits. The Sith felt the Force flow around them, writhing with the negative energy that virtually dripped from the air. With the Force, he could sense each of the soldier's blows almost before they happened.

As Storm-Shadow's leg rose in a devastating kick, Lord Barlek twisted his body in the same direction. The soldier's leg would narrowly miss his arched torso.

The soldier also would not notice the counter kick bound for the side of his head, propelled by the centripetal force of the Sith's flip.

Storm-Shadow grinned in his helmet, for the first time in his life he was having fun. For the first time in his life, James wasn't having all the fun while holding him back. The blade of his katana and the lightsaber clashed multiple times within the time frame of about three seconds.

As the kick narrowly missed, the soldier used his own body's centripetal force to continue to spin and aim another kick towards Xalgan's body. However the draconian entity controlling the body of Storm-Shadow did not notice the kick from the Sith, and as a result flew back a few feet, landing on his back and dropping his katana next to him.

The lightning that was once surging throughout the air started to calm, and change color. It became blue, and therefore more pure than the black lightning that had existed but seconds before.

A pained groan came from Storm-Shadow "Well, I have to hand it to you. You really know how to knock out a dragon. Nice kick by the way." Now the voice was that of James. "In fact, I think I might have a dent in my helmet." he said as he sat up and shook his head, his HUD coming back online after a few seconds.

He looked at his katana, which lay on the ground. "Oh that's just rude." he muttered as he stood and carefully picked it up, putting it back into its sheath. He looked at Xalgan, and as he did, a crack appeared in the Visor. "Very rude indeed."

The Sith stood his ground as the soldier retrieved his weapon. He leaned on one leg, favoring the one he used to inflict the decisive blow on Storm-Shadow's cranium. Xalgan balled his fist and clenched it tightly. A red aura flooded over him, focusing on his foot. The faint crackle of tendons and bones resonated from the limb as it jolted into place.

"I accept the compliment." he replied. "And you have shown to be a worthy opponent. Now, what may I call you?"

The soldier tilted his head, popping his neck audibly again. "What can you call me..." he thought about it. "Well, over my life I've been called many things, a maggot, a kid, a worthless piece of trash that doesn't deserve to be part of the corps, .... let's see.... You may call me James. Seeing that I no longer enjoy the fact of having to share my code name with a part of me I can't control." he said.

He then sighed, crossing his arms in front of him and shifting his weight to his left leg. "And while proving "Myself" to be a worthy opponent, my blade was completely dishonored by my letting it hit the ground. Though technically that wasn't my fault..." he went on like this, mainly talking to himself.

"I am Lord Barlek, a warrior of the Sith Order." he said. "You are an interesting specimen, James. The Force is strong with you - the dark side especially. Perhaps you would consider tutoring under the Sith. We can help you focus, control, and strengthen your power. Through power, you will be master of your rage. The Force shall free you."

"I have been called an 'interesting specimen' many times as well." he muttered, mainly to himself. "Your offer is tempting, but I will have to decline. I am already working on controlling this rage with a very old friend." he said. As he said this the orbs of shadow in the air all slowly converged to form a larger one near the soldier's general area. "Speaking of which, here he comes..." he said.

Out of the shadow orb came a figure on four legs. Scales as black as night, eyes a dark forest green, Draco of the Shadows had arrived. "I am surprised you were able to regain control from a simple knock on the head." he said, wings flapping gently as the orb of shadow shrank and vanished behind the wings of the relatively small dragon.

Civil Defense moved quickly to clear the nightclub of people and debris. "Move it!" They called out, ushering everyone out of the club and into the nearest bunker entrance. Though by now much of the lingering chaos had died down, the risk of fires and collapsing buildings were still evident, and so Civil Defense moved to usher everyone to safety.

Gerard and Braxton collapsed in a pile once they cleared through the bunker. Sitting up, Gerard struggled to catch his breath while Braxton lulled into full consciousness. He stared at the ceiling as it blurred in and out of focus. Where were they?

Clinging to a wall Gerard rose. He pushed off and began searching through the small crowd for the girl. Over on the floor Braxton's memory began to return. His heart fluttered. Where was his phone?

A calm blackness flowed like a steady tide through the empty space of the Aschen Core. Then a flash of light illuminated the darkness. Streaks of purple, crimson, and gold lightning shot through the void as a violent maelstrom of cosmic energy took shape. The fabric of space collapsed and folded into a funnel, joining two distant points of the universe together.

The funnel spat out a dark starship like a giant regurgitating a meal. It's hull was black and silver with wings like horns. A six-spoked red wheel was painted across the hull. Then, just as quickly as it appeared, the vortex vanished.

The starship drifted towards the Aschen Core worlds.

Watchtower H-453
Outer Deep Space - Aschen Border Sector H-05
3,589ly from Langara

The lone Watchtower, a planetoid sized spherical construct that was capable of monitoring a huge swathe of Aschen space sat in silence, like a sentinel in the darkness. Crewed by 150,000 Souls all dedicated to the Aschen Empire monitored in silence.

Commander Pendleton watched the readouts from the CIC, a massive command an control complex in the core of the Watchtower, with simultaneous DRADIS readouts across several portions of Sector H-05.

It was then a blip rang out, and the CIC was bathed in a deep red light and klaxxoning alarms. The Commander sipped his coffee, and narrowed his eyes.

"Unidentified Contact! Sub-Sector Australis! Closing in fast into Sub-Sector Rygon!" A Deck officer called out, while the Commander stood up.

"Notify the Second Fleet of Homogenous Clarity, prepare to activate the Ion Columns!" He ordered, while a second CIC officer got on all communications, first broadcasting a bitstream signal, followed by a sequence of numbers which could be deciphered by the most primitive of civilizations.

And then a vocal hail.

"Attention Unidentified Contact. You have breached restricted space, you are ordered to identify yourself and state your intentions, or be terminated."

The Hail would repeat every seven seconds

A moment passed before the lone starship replied via the watchtower's holoterminal. The pixelated blue light materialized into the form of a rigid man clad in a decorated navy uniform. Slick raven black hair lined the sharp but handsome features of a man in his late twenties. His feet were firmly planted at shoulder width with his hands clasped behind him.

"Hail, representatives of the Aschen Empire." replied the man in Galactic Basic. "This is Commodore Malavai Quinn of the Imperial starship Fury. I speak on behalf of Darth Xalgan and the Sith Empire. We have intelligence that a fugitive of our galaxy has fled into your star systems. He is likely hiding amongst your refugees. My commander requests permission to search and apprehend our target."

There was a long pause from the Watchtower, perhaps they were being ignored, perhaps not. The Watchtower's Commander eyed the flickering holographic image. Though communication was typically done through audio and video, the Watchtowers were equipped for Holographic communication.

"Standby." The Commander said, before he cut the link.

A few moments later, he re-established the link. "Transmit data on the Fugitive for review, and we will consider your request."

Commodore Quinn's hologram looked over its shoulder as if speaking to an unseen party. He nodded silently and returned his attention to the Aschen Watchtower.

"Acknowledged. Sending dossier."

The file was largely redacted with several parts blacked out. What could be made from what was left was that Darth Xalgan, The Emperor's Wrath, had been tasked on locating a rogue Sith Lord, who was believed to be hiding amongst the refugee camps or slums on Langara or Molecay, and eliminate him. He was wanted for treason and consorting with Jedi.

There was a long pause before a response came on the comms.

"You will provide the entire dossier, or we will not be able to permit entry." The message was abruptly terminated, but unknown to the Empire's ships in Aschen Space, a massive gun was being leveled on them from a nearby Watchtower, from nearly half an AU Away.

The deep rumble of subspace engines echoed through wing of the spaceport as a starship descended into the hangar. Two horizontal wings protruded from the bridge like the prongs of a bident's head. A sibilant hiss whined as a ramp disengaged at the front of the vessel.

Two figures emerged from the ship. The first was a man clad in black robes, gloves, and boots. Beneath his robes were the underlinings of thin yet dense blast armor. A dark hood concealed his face except for two crimson points of light that penetrated the shadows. Each stride echoed with terrible authority that would make lesser men tremble and greater ones avert from his soul-burning gaze.

The other figure was much taller and built like an ox, but yet lacked the same charismatic and intimidating aura that flowed freely from the cloaked man. He was dressed in a suit of thick blast armor. It was black as the void with crimson trim. His hair was dark brown and trimmed nearly to the scalp while his face sported a goatee.

"R-eight," the hooded man said in a deeply modulated voice towards the spacecraft, "ensure that our speeders are ready to depart when we exit the spaceport."

"Yes, sir!" chirped a robotic voice from inside the ship.

"Pardon me, milord." said the larger man. "but why are we on this blasted rock?"

"I do not relish being on this backwater planet either, Captain Pierce," replied the hooded man, "but the ship was damaged in that last fight. We must make repairs before we can return to Imperial space."

#, as written by Zenia
Sosrioser turns as he hears the rumbling, his eyes widen at the sight, “well…shit.” He mutters in Huttenese as he takes a step back, that was an imperial ship. Something he did not want to see…especially now.
He keeps his eyes on the ship as two men step out, his eyes immediately going to the hooded figure. “Just my luck…” he hisses as he watches the authority in his stride, there was no mistaking that this guy was high up in the empire…most likely a Sith.

He averts his gazes, his hands near his blasters as he clenches and unclenches his fingers. Hopefully no fight would start, he just wanted to get off of Terra…and now that these folk were there he wanted out of there quicker than ever before. If there was one thing he hated and feared it was the Imperial and Siths, he wasn’t fond of Jedi either but hey at least they could be a bit nicer if he was caught. The sith? Not…so much.

His keen ears catch their words, “…damaged ship and space battle? Well hopefully I will be outta here before them…and in one peace…and not noticed.” He says with a sigh as he tries to blend into the gawking crowd, though again that was harder said than done with his looks.
