History Forthcoming...

[hr]* Family names are often considered a person's true name and are rarely used or shared with others.
** Time for the Ba-Shu holds little meaning. There is a wheel of the year that is followed with proscribed rituals and celebrations, but dates and years are not often followed too closely. They are not illiterate, but there is no accurate measure of time to compare to their home plane vs that of humanity. It can be assumed that Xiaolian's birthdate is possibly closer to Summer of 934 AD, than July 1900.
***Village of "Lunghwa", Zhúlín Province, Heaven's Gate. The bamboo forest at the base of the world tree that guarded the gates of heaven, hell, and man. There were several large villages here, populated by families of the Ba-Shu that were in service to heaven.

New wasn't necessarily what one would call Xiaolian, she'd been one assignments before working through the PLA and Ministry. In fact one might call her a old hand at things, but then again the DEED was something new in a way. Sighing as she pushed the door open, she took one look around and frowned. This wasn't going to be as easy as originally thought. Slight of build, Xiaolian appeared as the typical asian woman, albeit with a bit of a different build; this coming from years of training and discipline. Brushing a strand or two of glossy black hair from her face, once again she would scan the bar. 'What a motley crew..'Xiaolian thought. Heels clicking on the hard floor she took a seat, pursing her lips for a moment she withdrew a slip of paper from within her fitted black jacket. "Zi Yong Rui.." She murmured before ordering a drink. Xiaolian couldn't exactly identify her contact from any of the men in armor either. 'Too bad...'She thought, it wasn't making her life any easier.

She nodded in confirmation but said little else. Taking a sip from her drink, she wondered why on earth General Kwai had ordered them into armor. It was rather cumbersome stuff in her opinion. "Perhaps it's not needed in my case, my skills differ from yours Captain.." She remarked setting her glass down with a odd fluidity. The training that she'd received was that of the PLA plus what the ministry and other agencies at required or wished. Glancing with slight interest as Zi choked, Xiolian muttered, "If you didn't say foolish things..."

If a code name they preferred to call her by then they were more than welcome. Resisting the urge to laugh at the comment about the Captain's power armor, but a smirk remained on her face; after all she had found it highly amusing. "Pleasure Lieutenant." She remarked with a slight bow. Surveying the two, Xioalian remained quiet. It was not that she spoke unless spoken to, it was that her very nature was that of quiet. This Federnfeuer gave her slight reservations, but those had yet to be proven.

Glaring at Federnfeuer, she sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry but most of that is classified. I can tell you that I have received as much training as you have, perhaps more." She spoke in a curt tone. Xiaolian did not appreciate her skills being questioned immediately. In fact her personale file had a high classification code on it, most within the PLA and Ministry could not access it. Returning his gaze with a hard one of her own she spoke, "Any more questions Federnfeuer?"

Regarding him with cold indifference she said nothing to Federnfeuer for the moment. Xioalian was starting to take a slight dislike to this man. "Lieutenant if are implying that I will tell you things, you are wrong. General Kwai informed me not to." She remarked bluntly. Her indifference soon turned to dislike for this man who continually made himself such a agravating, pest.

With the conversation with Federneuer beginning to turn sour Xiaolian noticed much to her dismay that Admiral McGregor had showed up. With a slight sigh of annoyance, she gave a slight nod of her head in his direction. "Admiral." She commented wondering what sort of horrible behavior he would have this time around. Though Raphael quickly knew that she could put him in his place. Looking about with slight confusion, she suspected something might have been about to go wrong suddenly remembering the dislike Raphael held for Colonel Benedict. With her attention once again turned back to Federnfeuer, Xiaolian scowled. "Listen, I am far from interested in drinks with you. Now sod off before I have to make you."

With her neutral gaze quickly turning sour, why was it that this man had had to push her buttons? It was far from appreciated. Xiaolian was good at her job, it was something she'd done for years and had quickly grown comfortable with it and it's tendencies, but this man Federnfeuer was annoying more than anything else. Quickly shoving these thoughts aside, she glanced across to Raphael and his discussion with the other man. Obviously bartering trade of something.

Eying Federnfeuer for a moment she shook her head and sighed. "I know that look." She remarked picking her drink back up. "You think me a doll for whatever general is in power." Xiaolian commented waiting for him to bite on her comment. There was much more to her than a pretty face.

"Of course, that's my job you. I'm not supposed to look like I'm not capable of anything." She replied patiently enough. It took her a moment or two to regain a sense of calm and well being, but such was achieved after a moment. "I spent close to half a decade in training at a temple up in the mountains back home. Day in and day out, dawn till dusk. Myself and others were put through our paces. The monks were kind enough, but it's not to say it was easy." She said slowly. Winters had been harsh, as had the other seasons equally.

Shaking her head she finished her drink and said little else. She'd said more than enough about the program. But she'd not told the entire truth about her training, it had been harsh yes, but more than necessary. "Perhaps there are some of us who aren't foolish enough to talk to everything that seems a likely candidate for something other than kosher reasons." She muttered grumpily. It was one thing if it were part of the mission, but a man from her own assigned unit? Well, Xiaolian wondered if she could find alternative methods to take care of the unwanted attention.

Nodding she listened to the Captain, a shipment meant increased security. It also meant dealing with Raphael and certain forms of Aschen bureaucracy. Xiaolian had experience with both of these, but that needn't be said just yet. Her credentials were clear, and so was her assignment. Finishing the last of her drink, she threw a few items of currency onto the counter. "I'll be here when the shipment comes in, until then I have a few more pressing matters to attend to. Captain, Lieutenant." She said with a slight bow as she exited the bar.

Xiaolian Boyuan grasped the cool metal of handle of the door, as she pulled it open stepping inside. The bar had changed a bit since the last she was there. It appeared as if one of the more advanced factions had taken over, upgrading a few things here and there, but the bar still held the same motley crew of people. Walking across towards the bar, she noted something slightly sticky pulling at the soles of her boots, frowning she paused for a moment. "Ugh, seen cleaner places in outer Mongolia." She mumbled to herself as she continued along her way. She didn't dare question what sort of dark fluid lay on the floor, it could be anything from blood to soda. Sliding with some grace into a seat at the bar, she ordered herself a beer and glanced about. Nearly choking on her beer, she noticed something that looked like it had come out of one of the younger recruits comic. "Holy.." She could help but utter as she watched Kabuto Yakushi enter the bar. This didn't seem normal, including the earth quake!

Xiaolian waited patiently, well hidden within the deep shadows around the buildings on the campus. All she knew was that someone had called in a favor, and she'd been pulled off what she'd like to consider a very important project in southeast asia to play spy. "This isn't what I do best..." She thought dryly as she checked the time on the glow in the dark face of her watch.

It was so painfully and obviously late. Most things on the campus were now closed and she'd forgotten to get herself something for dinner. Sighing she just pushed a piece of hair pulled loose by the night breeze back behind her ear.

All she could do was watch for now, wait to see what happened. She saw the man spring for Molly and run across the green with something that looked very much like ten viciously sharp little blades in his hands. "Uh oh." Xiaolian muttered to herself as she made the decision to follow close behind. The knives seemed so very wrong, and she briefly wondered where the man had gotten them.

They had told her that the killer was strange, but hadn't really been able to get her enough information. "I have a visual. Proceeding with caution." She said using a secure radio link through her phone. After that she hung up and made it a point to stay as hidden as possible in the shadows.

"Well this is going to be an interesting night." Xiaolian thought to herself as she moved quietly from her position at a nearby building. "Suspect sighted." She said through a secure link which was embedded into a piece of software in her phone. After all, not every one needed to look like the stereotypical agent. MCU preferred a much lower profile than other organizations.

She looked at the blades or knives on the man's hands and wondered just what exactly drove the man to do these deeds. There certainly were some sick individuals in the world, both of them.

"Then try to dodge. MCU hired you for some reason other than your pretty face." Xiaolian commented as she wondered if that really was the truth to the matter. Did anyone really understand why they were hired with the MCU? She doubted it. How exactly were they going to go up against a guy with knives when a gun didn't exactly beat sharp, deadly implements. "Fuck.." She mumbled under her breath. This was turning into more than fishing, or even cat and mouse. This like was rock paper scissors with a mad man.

She could see him growing ever closer to Molly and tried to figured out just what exactly could be done. "Hey! Scissor hands! Over here!" Xiaolian shouted picking up a large stick that had fallen from one of the nearby trees, and throwing it at the man's head. He'd never see it coming, she had allowed him more than enough time to think it was just him and Molly there.

"Suspect has fled the scene. White male, armed with multiple knives, I'm going to say about six foot, torn jeans, some sort of cape, and a very scared face. Be advised that he is headed south on the campus. Be careful guys.. this guy is fucked up." Xiaolian relayed through the bluetooth like device worn in her right ear. For now she would be content to let him flee into the hands of other agents, but she wasn't even certain now that this might be the right guy. It seemed like it for now though.

Approaching Molly, Xiaolian pushed a few unruly pieces of hair out of her face. "Listen I'm really sorry about this. This case has turned out to be more difficult that we could have imagined." She stated offering a hand to the other woman. Xiaolian was small, petite and delicate looking; hardly the sort to seem to be able to hold her own against any of the formidable enemies MCU had made over the decades. "I'm Xiaolian. I'm your new contact."

She sighed and watched, uncertain if they should chase. With a vague smile, she turned to face Xiaolian. "I'm Molly. It's nice to meet you. I don't know if I want that to be out guy or not." She admitted, then winced. "Also, I suspect my old contact will show up within the next half hour. Depending on how many traffic laws she's willing to break." She sighed.

She tapped her head and smiled. "The only reason I'm with mythical crimes and not the regular comes, is the psychic connection I'm sure." She couldn't honestly think of another reason. Yes, she had studied preternatural biology, but she never finished the degree.
