Description

Xvander's natural shape is somewhat amorphic, a black tar like creature. However since arriving near Wing City he assimilated the body and knowledge of a local weapon's dealer. He has taken in the man's work with a passion. The vanity of his race not letting him pick someone who isn't attractive by local standards.

Tall and broad shouldered the body is powerful. Short black hair and a close trimmed beard, his nature expresses itself in the man's appearance through a sinister air to the man. When he grows agitated or otherwise is threatened his skin becomes pale and black veins rise to the surface.

Personality

Xvander is a ruthless man, and will go to any lengths to get what he desires. He is ambitious and has large goals, both on and off planet. He is patient and willing to wait for his goals to become more achievable, while setting things in motion for long term pay outs.

Xvander's people have a natural psychic webwork that draws them to one another so they may hunt and/or mate. Being young he cannot consciously use it yet, however this does not diminish his ability. He comes across as having a powerful presence, charismatic, attractive, alluring and dangerous. It also makes him highly aware of any psychic happenings around him.

He is drawn to violence and finds it a perfect expression of his race. The more violent, the more desirable the person is, either as an ally, mate, or possibly target for assimilation. However directionless wrath and destruction are something that he frowns on, finding them distasteful.

Equipment

The basic ability package for his people is one that they all begin with. However they have a form of active evolution that takes positive traits from other species to build into their own skills. Xvander is still quite young and has a limited set at the moment, but he hopes to grow with leaps and bounds in such a... genetically diverse setting such as Gambits.

He is still quite young and mostly restricted to the human form that he has taken, however he has already expanded on the abilities of the mere human. Pushing the peak of strength, stamina, durability, and dexterity along with his own regenerative capabilities and senses have made him formidable to any who expect a normal human. However when he exerts himself in any way his inhuman nature begins to reveal itself: His skin starts turning lighter to shades of white while his veins become more pronounced and instead of red are black to the naked eye. As he matures he will be able to control this, however he is still young.

To acquire an ability he must first observe the target and get a sample of their genetic makeup. His primary method of sampling is a sharp nail and a scraping of skin, blood, or even hair. While others of his species seduce others with their mind or bodies he is not yet powerful enough, in his own mind, to leave the sampling up to chance. From there it takes time to replicate the DNA within his body to usable quantities. If the ability is compatible he ads it to his general matrix. He is not automatically proficient with any ability he gains and must also spend time practicing his newly acquired ability.

A gift of his progenitor his has a battle form to help him survive if things get dire enough for him that even his enhanced shell cannot withstand. His battle form lets him briefly draw on his ancestral DNA to its fullest potential and his body shifts into a thing of war and death. However the transformation is painful and short lived, he cannot maintain it for long or else his energy expires and he may die.

History

Xvander comes from a powerful race of creatures spawned from the toxic pits of a distant massive world, located deep within Wild Space, where the gravity is several orders of magnitude greater than on Earth. The creatures of that planet were forced to cope with the lack of sustenance by being able to hunt down any and all sources of food and being able to exact every last nutrient out of them. From this toxic quagmire arose a particularly vicious species, the Uradu. Though small in number they more than make up for it with their natural abilities and diabolical cunning.

The Uradu developed from a symbiotic species that would live among the large predators of the world using their own abilities in conjunction with the hunters. However when they developed their own sapience being second fiddle would not do. They began integrating their bodies with those of the predators, taking them over, eating them from the inside out and, inadvertently, taking their genetic material with them, bonding it to their own. From there the Great Culling began and the Uradu spread. They began devouring every species on the planet, multiplying and absorbing. Each generation more powerful than the last incorporating the various species benefits into their own. It took only a single solar cycle, some 12 Earth years, before the planet was almost entirely barren of life, save the Uradu.

There was a brief period of peace, about ten whole minutes, before the Second Great Culling began and the Uradu turned on each other. This battle was much longer lasting and brutal that the first. Their abilities multiplied as they devoured their own kind and only the most intelligent and cunning were able to adapt to the influx of genetic material without becoming overwhelmed by the information stored within their genes and going berserk.

After 100 cycles, 1200 years, there were only six Great Families, and the original numbers that covered the world has been reduced by more than 99.999%, leaving a population of roughly 50,000 globally. Each family is the direct descendant of the still living Head of their line, the sole remaining survivors of the First Generation: Mekyl, Clombak, Rith-eon, Pilomak, Zevquori, and Ravlyn. Though there are minor Houses they are subservient to the Great Houses. An uneasy truce exists between them with complicated politics existing between each House. The leadership of the race transferring from one House to another every cycle.

They are still the ruthless hunters and given that all other species were eliminated the only source of sustenance was cannibalism. Until the Visitors arrived. An alien exploratory vessel investigating the possibility of mining the apparently barren world, unaware of the intricate network of volcanic and natural tunnels under their landing spot. Their ship's weight collapsed one such tunnel as they were exiting their ship and in an instant they were beset by the Uradu. A particularly quick thinking Uradu took one of the prospectors prisoner and spirited him away to the court of the leading Great House at the time, Ravlyn. The prospector was tortured for information, however they did not have a translator and communication was impossible. Impossible until one member of the court, one Jerash, an older and highly skilled member of the court, offered to merge with the alien and see what could be gleaned though the process.

It was an unmitigated success as Jerash learned all that there was to know from the prospector, taking all his memories and skills for his own, even taking on the alien's form as his own until he chose to reject it. With his newfound knowledge he was able to take a few likewise cunning members of the court and enter the ship, merging and assimilating the remaining crew. With their queen's permission they left the planet with a raiding party. By acting as a ship in distress they were able to lure in several other ships, then the raiding party would take them over and take them back to the home world. From there the ships were dismantled and the Third Great Culling began. Spreading out across the planet with off world weapons and technology House Ravlyn conquered the other Great Houses. However even the off world weapons were unable to slay the immensely powerful First Generation. Ravlyn was able to capture them and have them moved off world with the captured ships and each left on a different moon where they would have to hibernate just to survive the lack of atmosphere. Thus Ravlyn became the only free member of the First Generation and the defacto queen of the entire race of Uradu.

From there the first great setback of their kind. A raiding party attacked an outpost on the edge of Wild Space and were unprepared for the technologically advanced response. This new race outstripped those that had first been overcome by the Uradu and they were slaughtered. A single survivor was found floating in space, hibernating in the vacuum by an unsuspecting mineral transport ship and the survivor was able to get back to the home world. More incidents like that occurred until there were few of their captured ships remaining, as yet unable to build ships of their own, though the industry, built by slaves and designed by those who had consumed various engineers and those few ship designers they had been able to capture.

Ravlyn's policies changed and the infiltration began. It was clear that thy were not as technologically advanced as other races and there was only so much knowledge they could take at any time. So they would wait and build their power slowly. Raiding parties became more cunning and would take live prisoners to the home world as slaves, though few survived the harsh environment. The rumors of this warlike race have spread among those that venture into the torturous area known as Wild Space and those unlucky ones who come looking for them are rarely heard from again.

-Personal Bio-
The creature now known as Xvander was spawned for the sole purpose of spying on the area known as the Multiverse Convergence. A rocky pod was made to contain and protect his larval form until he descended through the atmosphere near Wing City and crashed into the coast. He swam through the waters, devouring what fish and prey he could, for nutrients refusing to absorb the genetic material of what were clearly 'lower lifeforms' until he came across a human, a man by the name of Alexander Price, a weapons dealer. He had happened to swim into the private beach of the man and none of the man's guards gave the small inky shape, mostly invisible against the rocks any thought. Until Alexander shouted in alarm that he was being attacked. He went down and by the time he was pulled ashore he had slipped into a coma. The only sign of attack a bite had been taken out of his leg, though one of the guards said that they saw something slithering into his leg shortly before he blacked out.

Alexander spent two weeks in a hospital while doctors tried to diagnose what was wrong with him. All the while Xvander grew, spreading along his neural pathways and devouring them, replacing them with his own cells, absorbing the genetic material of the man, infesting his brain and gaining his knowledge and skills. After two weeks all of Alexander's core had been replaced and Xvander woke in his place. He immediately went about a new and aggressive business strategy, eliminating other local weapons dealers, his predatory mentality not allowing any competition. In the weeks following he has completely replaced the man's every cell with his own aggressive ones.

However he has received his directive and has moves his business into Wing City proper, using what connections he can gain to gather genetic material from across the multiverse. Some he takes for himself, trying to increase his own power. Other samples he sends to his homeworld through a currier.

So begins...

Xvander's Spyker convertible roared down the road from his estate, he grinned as he gunned it down the twisting road that runs along the lake before veering off sharply towards the city. The roof of the car was down and the wind whipped through his short hair. He growled to himself as he drove at breakneck speeds through the city, skidding around corners and finally slamming on his breaks, pulling off a perfect slide into an empty parking spot in front of gambits. He was silent for a moment before he broke out with a deep laugh. He opened the door and took a moment to adjust his light button up shirt, the heat from the day doesn't seem to bother him at all a he makes his way into the bar. He pops his neck as he walks over to the bar, running his hand over the touch screen and ordering a glass of insley whiskey from the private stock he has kept at the bar.

Xvander sips his whiskey straight and reaches into a pocket and pulls out a wallet. He flicks it open and extracts a thin transparent card and holds it up. "Time until contact?" symbols flash across the card briefly and he nods. "Alert me five tcha before arrival." A series of white symbols appear in the corner and a countdown begins. He puts the card in his breast pocket and puts the rest of his wallet away. He closes his eyes and lets his awareness expand slowly, it spreads gradually filling the empty bar with his aura, letting him sense and feel everything around him before he pulls it back in slowly. He has been practicing this several times a day and has gotten faster, but it is still slow. He must progress, he must evolve.

Xvander opened his eyes and looked towards the woman who just walked in. He smiled and took a moment to extend a tendril of awareness towards her, a mental probe to practice his new senses. He could immediately sense she wasn't human, but not what she truly was. His senses were not refined enough for that yet, but in time they would be. He looked her over, appreciating her figure as well as dress sense. He was about to speak when the other woman walked in and he looked at her, clearly not human, some form of fox hybrid, though he could not tell if she was natural or magical in nature.

Xvander's aura pulsed and spread through the room again, this time to feel what it was like with other people in it, however the strain from constantly keeping it up was getting to him and his brow was prickling with sweat. He bit his lip to keep the aura extended until he could memorize the sensation before it all finally snapped back around him, drawing in. He winced and rubbed his forehead, wiping away the sweat before taking another sip of his whiskey. He smiled to himself, the progress was rapid and he could feel himself improving even over the span of a few days. It was nothing compared to the pressure that those older than he could produce at a whim, but it was a start.

Xvander smiled, the bar was starting to fill up with the usual crowd. Inhuman creatures from aliens to ancient gods. He laughed a bit to himself, rebuffing the pressure from Nyarlathotep with his own mental shields. "This is much better," he spoke out loud. "I was beginning to wonder if this place was starting to lose its touch." He sipped his whiskey and ordered a refill.

Xvander popped his neck a few times, a long series of pops running down his spine a curiously long way as he twists his shoulders some, hinting at a highly flexible skeletal system. He got the new glass, whiskey on the rocks this time and took a sip. "Mmm, delightful," he chuckled softly and turned to survey the bar, a nice cross section of the multiverse. Perhaps he would be able to harvest some new DNA tonight.

Xvander stiffened at the voice intruding into his mind and immediately attempted to secure his mind from further intrusion, throwing up as many barriers as he could to keep the being out of his mind. He narrowed his eyes at the coalescing from of Nyarlathotep. "What do you want?" His tone clipped and cool as he restrains his immediate desire to run a poisoned bone spike through the form, though he suspected it would do little good even if he did. This was clearly a being of magic and more, something his people rarely got along with.

Xvander watches Nyarlathotep and listens to him. "So you wish to see me hunt? An easy enough thing to accomplish, but what do I get in return? Each hunt has its risks. It would be unseemly for me to be revealed now, my objective is not yet complete." His nails tap against the side of the rock glass and the black veins become more apparent along his fingers as the nails become more prominent.

Xvander sneered at Nyarlathotep in clear distaste. "Only the weak rely on strength from another. I want none of your power, Daemon." He almost walked away, however he stopped and tapped a finger against the bar top. "However... there is something you can do for my line that will earn me my own power." He turned to the being and let the blackness fill is eyes before fading into a milky white. "Free Zevquori, the head of my line from his moon prison. Can you do that?" Powerful as this being may be to go against Ravlyn could be daunting to any being, it was said that she could step between stars and her powers had evolved beyond flesh and mind, though she still took physical form. And not to mention that this creature would need to be able to survive Wild Space, which had its own dangers, even to immortals. "Can you do that? If you can, and let it be known only to my progenitor that it was I that helped him be free then I will hunt for you and tell you where my homeworld is."

Xvander grins so broadly it threatens to split his lips. "If you can do this then I shall give you a glorious hunt indeed. When shall it be done?" He is eager to hear the news of his progenitor's revival, it was his long term plan, to gather enough resources and power here at the Nexus to be able to break the moon prison and free Zevquori. But he had not thought that such a thing would be possible for centuries yet. He had long term plans for this that he had lay the groundwork for. But now, if he could get it done with one fell swoop. How glorious would it be? He, barely more than a hatchling in the eyes of the elders helping to bring forth the greatest civil war among some of the universe's most savage creations.

Xvander turned to Nyarlathotep with a raised brow. "Is this true? Were you responsible for the capture of my liege and their imprisonment for these long eons?" He narrows his eyes slowly and tries to pierce the veil of perception around the chaos god. He would dearly like to strike a blow against this one if that is the case, it is almost a genetic directive for him to fight those that captured his elder.

My people have survived under the protection of noone. Through the coming war we shall grow stronger or parish. This is evolution, this is the WAY of my people." He turns to Fate. My fate is my own, and my plan has been to free Zevquori, this merely... advances my time table." He is always the business man. He has learned well from the body he took over and shall continue to be. In his pocket the clear crystal makes a chirping noise. He pulls it out of his pocket and looks at the symbols counting down which have started blinking and turning orange. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have a business meeting to get to and preparations to make." He smiles at them, nods to tem both and insolently walks between them as he heads out to his car.

Xvander had received information from one of his informants that an individual of interest had been spotted in Gambits. He grinned as he leaned down over the motorcycle, one of the few Y2Ks that are still around, its distinctive sound more like that of a helicopter engine because that is exactly what powers it. The bike wove dangerously in and out of traffic as he tore down the road ripping his way towards the bar leaving only a streak of lights in his wake. He wasn't bothered to wear a helmet or goggles to see, his eyes hard and white as he focused on the road ahead of him. His jacket pressed tightly against his frame by the wind. He slowed down his bike but the distinctive sound of the helicopter engine was quite peculiar to hear from a bike. He pulled into a space in front of Gambits and turned off his bike, his eyes adjusting back to human normal, grey green. He unzipped his jacket as he stepped off the bike and smiled as he remembered when he was last in Gambits, an unholy mess after that fight, his flesh burned and torn, laser etchings on his face and missing an eye from the damage. Well he was... better now. He pushes open the door and looks around, seeking his prey. His eyes light on Drake and he grins, walking towards the man, not at all trying to hide his presence.

"Interesting," the alien in human form murmurs before looking at Drake closely. "The infection, yes. I assume you want it purged before it slowly consumes you?" He reaches slowly to the small of his back and pulls out a small case that had been secured to the inside of his jacket. He enters a code and it clicks open. He opens it to reveal a syringe. "You have three options, from my perspective. The first is that you inject this into yourself and pray that it kills the parasite before it kills you. The second is that you tell me where it is located and let me remove/kill it. The last option is that it kills you and when that happens I kill it. Not a pretty ending, I assure you."

Xvander's bike roared its unique howl as it sped along the roadway away from his house by the beach and towards the town. The bike's particular sound came from the fact that instead of the typical motorcycle engine his Y2K model was outfitted with a helicopter's instead. It was overpowered to the extreme and were anyone to tailgate him they would find the exhaust from his bike melting their front fender. However it fit his lifestyle quite handily, overpowered, tough, rare, and incredibly expensive to boot. His bespoke jacket fluttering hard in the wind caused by his speed threatening to tear the custom tailoring job that he had paid for it. His bike skid to a stop outside Gambits, expertly sliding into a parking spot, the dust cloud hid him for a second and when it blew away he was standing by the bike, carefully adjusting the cuffs of his jacket. The weather was entirely too hot for something of that style, but he appeared completely at ease as he strode into the bar, pausing inside the door to look around at the interior. His head tilted to one side and then the other, examining people with each eye independently, much as a bird might.

Xvander sniffed at the air and let a smile pass momentarily across his lips as he spotted Ada, he was beginning to be able to recognize the sense of people. He clicked his teeth a few times and made his way towards the bare, careful to keep out of the way of the brawl. He slipped into the stool across from Ada and took a moment to look at the bottle she held. "Good year," his voice held a new harmonic to it, subtle but there none the less, it was... more alluring that it had when he had last crossed paths with her. There were other subtle changes to his physique, not in the cut of his muscles or like that, but in how he moved. Predatorially graceful he was at home in his skin now and none of the uncertainty of movement remained, he was much more centered. "Share a glass with me."

Xvander grinned more broadly as he lifted the glass to his lips, not taking his eyes off her for a moment, not speaking until the glass had once more touched down. "I have added nearly one hundred new samples, from a variety of sources." Few people could understand what he meant, but Ada knew his secret. He was an alien, a creature that assimilated DNA into his own forcing a constant evolution to make the most perfect predator in the universe. While still young, and weak, by his own race's standards he was formidable by local ones. "I have spent some time sending probes and personally exploring the possibilities that exist within the multiversal structure." At a rather extreme personal expense.

The alien watched her, sensing something as he tried to peer past her form to what lay beneath. No, still impenetrable to his senses. He could no more know what went on in her mind than what was going on on the other side of the planet. He smiled at her. "My schedule has been tripled since our last encounter. Zevquori has started a war with Ravyln that has nearly torn my homeworld in half. Another moon has crumbled and Mekyl has started building her own army.
