Zan Blackrose

Description

Zan Blackrose stands six foot tall with a compact athletic build weighing four-hundred and ten pounds, this is due to the symbiotic-life form that his housed within his body and due to his unique physiology causing his body to be denser then a normal human. Spiked white-silver hair and dark azure eyes match his tanned skin. Zan is attired most of the time in black leather pants which end over leather motorcycle boots and held to his hips with a black leather belt and silver buckle. Over his upper body he wears a form fitting kevlar lined long sleeved shirt with Nth nanotube fivers woven throughout the shirt for added protection. Over top of his normal leather belt, Zan wears his gun belt which holds his gun Unus. His Gunmage Coat and a wide brimmed leather hat finish off Zan’s attire and appearance most of the time.

Equipment

Equipment:

Unus: This is the utility weapon used by Zan, much unlike Fuujubaku. Unus is a .44 Magnum Colt Anaconda that has been redesigned to fit Zan’s specifications and personal style and tastes. Casted from stainless steel with an eight inch barrel and weighing at sixty ounces, with a total length of 14 inches which adds in the muzzle flash compressor affixed to the end of the barrel. Unus normally fires a .44 caliber armor-piercing round (depleted uranium core wrapped in a copper jacket), using sixteen grams of gunpowder in the shell itself provides these AP rounds with an average velocity of fifteen hundred feet per second. Unus can be loaded with special Nth shells to penetrate magic barriers or protective magic that the Nth metal disrupts, though Zan rarely uses these as the Nth metal in his possession is slowly depleting.

Fuujubaku (Spellseal): Instead of a Caster Gun, Zan has modified the Caster system used in all gunmage’s personal guns to fit inside the hilt of his sword, which has become known as Fuujubaku. Forged from Nth Metal, which also resides in special nanotube fibers in his chest armor, the blade along with able to use Gunmage Shells, has other unique properties. Hidden inside the hilt of his sword is the caster system, which upon activation will cause the spell energy within the inscribed shell to be released down the length of the blade. Special vents along the base of the blade and at the top cause the spell energy to propel the blade at much higher speeds then possibly achievable on ones own. The spell energy released through this vents is negligible in the amount that is released from the inscribed shell through the blade of the sword.

Armored Shirt: A specially designed chest armor that protects all of Zan’s body from his waist up to his neck and down his arms to his wrists with kevlar enhanced with nth nanotube fibers. This gives him protection against most slashing weapons and some protection against projectiles, it also allows him to take greater impacts from strikes that would normally not be possible. The Nth metal nanotube that are woven into the kevlar fibers gives Zan’s extreme protection from spells cast at him or if his own shells were to backfire, along with protection from spells the Nth metal gives Zan protection from the elements to some degree and also causes his wounds to heal faster.

Gun Belt: A normal leather gun belt that holds the ammunition for Unus and Fuujubaku around Zan’s waist.

Gunmage Coat: Inscribed with runes held by the Council of Gunmages in secrecy, the coat protects the gunmage from any spell he inscribed into a shell if it is either redirected at him or backfires. Other then protection from his own spells, the coat affords Zan with protection that a normal leather trench coat would afford and it makes him look really cool.

Abilities/Powers:

Due to his regenerative healing factor, molecular acceleration and his use of kinetic energy, Zan has increased his natural abilities to their human limits and beyond in some instances. Since his homeworld, Terra-Prime had higher gravity and slightly less oxygenated air, Zan’s own natural abilities are already above normal Earth humans.
Strength: Zan possesses strength enabling him to press lift approximately 10 tons. Zan’s physical strength is sufficient to lift and throw objects as heavy such as a semi-truck with ease. He must also pull his punches and kicks unless fighting someone of similar or greater physical durability. Otherwise, his blows would prove fatal to a normal human being. He has demonstrated that he is strong enough enabling him to knock out people with normal durability with as little as a tap to the head. Zan’s physical strength also extends to his legs, enabling him to be able to jump to a height of several stories in a single bound.
Reflexes: Zan’s reflexes are similarly enhanced and are currently about 40 times greater than those of an ordinary human. This is due to his Terra-Prime physiology and his ability to tap into energy has granted him superior reflexes and agility.
Speed: Zan is capable of running and moving at speeds that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete, both due to his Terra-Prime physiology and his ability to tap into energy. Also he can increase his speed by tapping into energy.
Stamina: Due to his Terra-Prime physiology and his regenerative healing factor, Zan’s muscles produce almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity. This allows him to exert himself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair him. At his peak, Zan can exert himself at his peak capacity for several days before the built of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair much.
Agility: Zan’s agility, balance and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
Durability: Zan’s body is physically tougher and more resistant to some types of injury than the body of a normal human, both due to his Terra-Prime physiology and his homo-superior make up. His body is more resistant to impact forces than anything else. He can withstand great impacts, such as falling form a height of several stories or being struck by an opponent with super strength, that would severely injure or kill a normal human with little to no discomfort.

Regenerative Healing Factor: One of Zan’s primary powers is an accelerated healing process that enables him to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with a far greater efficiency than an ordinary human. The full extent and speed of Zan’s healing factor is unknown, but he has been seen to fully heal form numerous gunshot wounds, severe burns covering most of his body, and regenerate missing eyes within a matter of seconds. Due to his regenerative healing factor he is immune to poisons and most drugs, except in massive doses and is extremely difficult for him to become intoxicated from alcohol. In addition to the other benefits of his regenerative healing factor, Zan has been provided with an extended lifespan with his healing factor slowing down the effects of the aging process.

Molecular Acceleration: This allows Zan to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy thus “charging” that item with explosive results. Zan prefers to charge smaller objects, as the time required to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for him to throw. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object. The larger it is the more time it takes. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact.

Kinetic Energy Wielder:

Static Interference: This ability allows Zan to create static, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by even the most powerful telepaths. The shield has the added effect of destabilizing touch based powers.

Dimensional Transportation: This is neither an offensive or defensive ability, taking to much time to be used in a fight. The processes in which Zan travels through dimensions is a complex ritual that takes almost six hours to complete.

History

Terra-Prime, an alternate dimensions answer for Earth. Almost ninety-five percent exactly like Earth, except that the gravity is higher and a thinner atmosphere causing thinner oxygen, causing those called Primes (Since those from Earth are called Earthlings) to have their natural abilities far above Earthlings. Along with their naturally enhanced abilities, the physiology of Primes are far different then even Earthlings. Once called “Perfection” by its inhabitants, it was its inhabitants that caused Terra-Prime to become nothing but a mass of deserts and lifeless oceans.

A war between all the great nations of Terra-Prime, culminated in “The End Day” when every nation that was capable of doing so launched their nuclear missiles at every other nation. Destruction and ruin washed over Terra-Prime in a single day and erased the perfection that was Terra-Prime’s grander and pitched those that survived into an everyday struggle for survival. Those that weren’t killed outright by the nuclear blasts or radiation poisoning, had their very genetic codes changed. Some were changed dramatically while others were changed in simpler, more subtle ways. Not all the surviving inhabitants were changed though, and this lead to more fighting between those who weren’t changed and those who were, who would be called mutants and who called themselves homo-superior.

One of these homo-superiors, thought not created by the radiation of “The End Day” but as a child to two homo-superiors, a second-generation homo-superior who was named Zan Blackrose by his parents. Growing up in a battle ridden village, where everyday was a fight for your life and the possibility of dying was ever present. During Zan’s childhood, he showed no signs of genetic mutations or powers as they had come to be called, and his parents hoped that the mutations had only lasted for a generation. However during one particularly brutal attack on his village, he watched his parents killed when their home was blown up by an attacking tank. One would have expected him to shed tears over their loved ones being murdered, but Zan’s eyes changed from their once light brown to a bright azure color. Watching his family murdered triggered something within Zan, it may have been the psychological shock or something far deeper within his soul that snapped or fell but that day Zan’s genetic mutation reared its head.

That day, those who watched Zan destroyed every last soldier of the attacking force with a cold, heartless precision say that he was death incarnate, a demon in human guise who finally showed its true form. Zan’s memory of this day is almost blank, however he still knows that he was filled with the overwhelming urge to kill and slaughter those who challenged him. After that day, he vanished from his home town and wondered into the sands known as “Hourglass of Death” where after weeks of being lost was found by a man named Q, a mystic gunmage. Zan was only sixteen when he was found by Q and taken in, and nursed back to health but at a price. Q was one of the lost mystic gunmages who left the council of gunmages years after “The End Day” and sought to find a purer way of the caster. The price for being rescued and nursed back to health was that Zan would become Q apprentice and eventually replace Q as a gunmage.

Years passed without anyone seeing Zan, though rumors from crazy toothless drunks said they saw him in the “Hourglass of Death” training with some old geezer with a fancy coat. Then out of the blue, he would waltz back into the town where his family was killed, dressed in a rune inscribed leather trench, a gun belt around his hips, and the hilt of a strange looking sword protruding from the top of his coat. However, this was not the same sixteen year old Zan Blackrose who destroyed an entire attacking force single handedly but this was Zan Blackrose, Gunmage and Homo-Superior who sought to challenge all. Now Zan travels to alternate dimensions, hoping to find the one opponent to test his skills to their very limits and beyond and finally claim his life on the field of battle.
