Zephan breathed out a long sigh as his ship set down, the landing gear rumbling as it settled, absorbing most of the impact of landing. He switched off the engines relishing the deafening silence that filled the cockpit. After countless hours of travel, he needed a moment of rest, but it wasn't long before he stood up and opened the rear hatch, not even bothering to extend the gangplank before jumping down, miraculously keeping his balance on his travel-numb legs. Glad for an opportunity to finally stretch and walk on solid ground, he decided to wander around the spaceport before attending to his real objective: finding someone who could fix the fire-suppression systems on-board his ship, mostly so the distracting warning light would stop flashing while he was trying to navigate around asteroids.

Odgerel made her way into the space port. "Whaddaya mean emergency inspection? I'm up to code," she nearly shouted into her phone. "Of course I've got anomalous readings, I've got an Edge Diver model." She pulled the phone away from her ear. "Yea yea, I know it's dangerous. Part of why I do it, also the ridiculous amounts of money I get from bringing back alien opals the size of your head!" She stopped and closed her eyes. Her boss wasn't going to like this. "Alright, alright. How much for a rush on the inspection? I've got jobs waiting on me." The figure named was apparently more than expected as she covered the phone with a hand and immediately began cursing.

Tenna, seated at an outdoor bar next to a mechanics shop located just off the landing strip of the spaceport, watched as the ships taking people off world did their daily thing. He'd not ever minded such travel, but he preferred being the pilot, considering he figured it was a fair bit safer. Still, he was surprised when he saw what looked like a freight shuttle with guns on her bow landing. It wasn't what he'd expect to see, considering how big the demand for large freighters and personal squads of guards were these days, what with the Aschen internal issues and the other various politics of the galaxy nearby. His interest piqued, he paid for his drink, stood up, and took it with him, headed to the ship that had so confused him.

As he walked over, he heard the swearing of a woman. He turned his head, just for a moment, and smiled, figuring somebody'd just gotten onto the sour end of a deal. ~Too bad they can't just fly off and forget about it, like I can.~ he thought conceitedly.

Upon arriving at the ship he'd scoped out, he noticed another man, presumably the pilot, dropping out the aft end. With the raise of a hand, one that would set the tattered cloak on his back to shifting enough to reveal glimpses of a small silver pistol and the end of a rifle on his back, he hailed the man.

"What kinda ship you got here, huh? Looks like she's seen the ass-end of an asteroid and decided to load her guns full of the soup cans she's s'posed to be transportin'."

A shuttle docked at the Spaceport with the name Serenade-0221 printed on the side landed in the Spaceport. Out of the ship stepped what appeared to be two sharks in armor. These were Derith. Their armor was green with gold accents, much like the shuttle. These two were clearly soldiers. The two walked down the ramp arguing about something.

The two where so focused on one another that they were pushing people out of the way. The two Shark Men where at least 7'6'' a piece and probably around 600lbs. The two were on a collision course with Odgerel. If she didn't move she was going to get run over by two sharks in armor.

"Excuse me?" Zephan tilted his head, his brows furrowing. "This ship is in prime condition, internally. I assure you the weapon systems are completely functional, despite the appearance."
He crossed his arms, straightening his stance. He was a little offended by the brazen insults to his ship, but he tried not to let it show. The last thing he wanted on this strange world was to make enemies within 10 minutes of landing.
"I am Zephan." he said, awkwardly extending a hand to shake. "Who are you?"

"She may be sound, but she sure doesn't look it. You oughta get her a new paint job, or at least some more streamlined plating. A ship like yours'll only last as long as she's maintained, and you gotta keep her outsides as good as her innards." He smirked and stepped forward, proffering a gloved hand.

"Name's Tenna, though in telling you that I run the risk of causing you torture and maiming at the hands of probably a dozen powerful corporations, the Aschen, and UCON, considering they all want me dead for some reason or another." He shrugged, then looked at the Derith. ~Bloody sharks. Wonder what they've been sent here for, considering Terra's not in the best of shapes right now. Might be I've been looked at a little too closely...~ he thought, mind racing to figure out what might be happening. He looked off to the side, in a small niche of a landing space where his ship sat, half-blending in as the Refrac skin did it's job at keeping it from being seen unless focused on.

"Asking who I am, however, is a far more interesting question, though rather than simply putting you at risk, would almost guarantee your death in some inexcusable manner. So, I'll just leave it at a name, for now. Might I ask what you're coming in for? Maybe repairs, or even an upgrade? I'm sure there's a ship here somewhere you'd rather take, though as a pilot myself I could understand the bond a man might forge with his ship."

He looked at the flaking paint on the hull and winced a little. A new paint job, he decided, was financially out of the question at this time. He stared at the stranger as he talked. Having grown up in an isolated colony he was unaccustomed to this level of interaction with strangers.
"I only require basic repairs, the internal fire-suppression system is malfunctioning. The warning light has been most distracting for several days now. I was hoping to find someone who is familiar with this model of vessel to repair it." He was distracted by the commotion behind Tenna, the two Derith soldiers were like nothing he had seen before.

Zephan laid a hand on his ship, almost protectively. "I would rather not purchase a new ship. According to the manual, the only problem with the fire-suppression system may only be the fire sensors, which would only require a few minor parts. Of course, I am not a mechanic..." he trailed off, staring again at the situation nearby. "What... are those, exactly? I am unfamiliar with their species."

"A 'once-over'? That... would be most appreciated." Zephan replied, still transfixed by the Derith soldiers. He hoisted himself up into the ship by grabbing a firm hold of a rail on the side the inner hatch, lifting one leg up and using his momentum to get inside. He pulled it all off rather gracefully. He extended the ramp and clambered to the front of the cramped ship, pulling the battered manual out from under the seat. Many of the pages had been dog-eared by the previous owner of the ship, and a few even had mysterious food-stains on them. "You are welcome to come aboard." he called to Tenna, hurriedly tidying away some of the mess of empty ration packets on the console.

"Kidding? I am not kidding. Is there something wrong?" Zephan tilted his head. He proceeded to flip the manual open to the page concerning what the various warning lights meant, showing it to Tenna. "This is what I was referring to. The flashing cyan light indicates that the fire-suppression system may be off-line. If the light were steady, it would indicate that the fire-suppression system was completely nonfunctional." He flipped through the manual to one of the pages farther to the back, this one was partially obscured by a large grease splotch. "This is the section that addresses problems with fire sensors, and it merely says to refer to the page on warning lights. Do you see my dilemma?"

"Yes, but-" he was about to explain in more detail, but decided against it, "That is my basic problem, yes. If the issue is indeed with the fire sensors, then the parts I will need to purchase for the repairs are fairly minor ones. I have a list... somewhere." He scooched past Tenna, the cockpit was only intended for one person and therefore much more cramped than usual right now. He grabbed a small tablet computer, on which he had typed out his list of parts. "I am unfamiliar with this space dock. Perhaps you could assist me in finding the required parts?" Zephan was grateful to have found someone who seemed willing to help, though he was still a little cautious. "There is one problem. I need to check if the fire sensors are indeed the problem. I'm not sure how I would check..." he trailed off, as if deep in thought, frowning.

Letch Gordon moved through the hanger at a brisk pace paying only a glance up at Tenna and Zephan as he walked in the direction of his designated landing pad and the full sized frigate that awaited him there.

Zephan looked on a little apprehensively as Tenna pulled the panel, and cringed as the bolts rolled away. He knew he would probably never find those again.
"I have a repair kit, the required part may be in there." He said, squeezing past the pilot's seat and retrieving a heavy case from a compartment closer to the aft. He set it down on the floor with a heavy thud and Knelt down to undo the clasps and open it. He gestured for Tenna to take a look, as he had very little clue what he was doing.

Tenna watched as the heavy case was set and opened. If he hadn't been expecting something so large, he might've simply stood and walked out, but as Zephan seemed to still be rather new at the idea of faring the dangers of space travel, he'd decided to be fairly lenient and, maybe, try to teach him a thing or two.

"Oh man...I haven't bothered with a kit in ages. I don't even know if they were supposed to carry these kinds of fuses. Why don't you go ahead and dive through while I see if I can't find something that might help you out from my own bits and bobs on my ship. I'll bring Solitude on over and we'll take a look, though simply by the tech differences of our craft I won't make any promises..."

"Yes, that sounds like a good idea." Zephan nodded, riffling through the disorganized case, sorting out various parts as he went. He wasn't keen on the idea of a jerry-rigged quick-fix (phrases that he had picked up from a couple of freighter pilots he had met as he was leaving his home colony), but he felt as if his options were limited. He was a perfectionist, and having a less-than-ideal ship was, at times, frustrating.

Zephan sighed and slammed the case shut, re-latching it and hauling it over to its compartment. He caught a glimpse of Tenna's ship, and was impressed with its design. When Tenna returned, he flopped down in the pilot's seat.
"Unfortunately there was nothing of use in the repair kit. Did you have any luck?" He inquired.

Zephan caught the fuse, inspecting it idly. "The engine bay... that would be located at the aft, above the hatch. I am... unsure how to access it. This ship's configuration is not ideal." He slipped the fuse into his pocket and stood up, frowning apologetically at the interior of his ship. "I am grateful for your assistance, by the way. I have not previously encountered anyone so helpful on my journeys."

"I can't say that I have been there. I haven't traveled much since leaving home. I have flown some supplies to colonies, but given the lack of space for cargo in this ship it has been difficult." He watched as Tenna displayed impressive acrobatics. "Do you require any help, with that?" He looked on a little nervously, shoving his hands in his pockets to prevent fidgeting.

Zephan gave a nod and hoisted himself up on some superfluous architecture that, as far as he could tell, served no actual function. He braced his leg against the edge of the aft hatch and gripped a railing above him, pulling himself up further. He had climbed trees often on his home colony, but this proved to be much more difficult.

Zephan grabbed Tenna's hand and nearly slipped, before he managed to haul himself up. "Which part will you be... 'going ham' on? How much damage are you anticipating? Because I am fine with it, as long as it is not too major."
